That's a cool date Springy. You'll have to have a celebration of some sort. Glad you are up and around. How are things going today?

Not all that long to go until the cold wine and hot summers evening becomes a reality (OK well those of us in the UK can't bank on the hot summer's evening - but we could all rock up at Minush's place - didn't she say it was sunny and coastal?)

PuzzleRocks · 04/03/2009 09:55

Nutty is only 31 + 6.

LuLuBai · 04/03/2009 09:56

Noooooooooo!

That's very weird Puzzle!

surprisenumber3 · 04/03/2009 09:56

Hope Nutty is back soon. I got pre-eclampsia at 27 weeks with DS1 and managed to keep him in til 34+5.

LuLuBai · 04/03/2009 09:57

Ah well a baby born around 32 weeks should still be pretty much OK.

Like I said their is a boy at a playgroup I go to who was born at 28 weeks and he's a great big romping toddler now - eats everything in sight and always has a cheeky smile stretched across his face.

PuzzleRocks · 04/03/2009 09:58

Springy - You've rumbled me. I'm like Bubbles Devere, quaffing at any given opportunity. Champagne daahling!

bronze · 04/03/2009 09:59

Ou birthdays are all very neatly arranged

I'm 12/01
DH is 21/10
ds2 is 01/12

Ds1 is 04/04
dd is 04/08

SO when should I have this one?

Claireykitten · 04/03/2009 10:00

You all talk far too much!! I have had to do catch up from about 1pm yesterday and having got up and turn the computer on at 8am I have only just caught up!!!!

Quick summary from what I can remember:

Super poo for Nutty

Hurrah for Barbarelly and heres hoping they can all be together.

Springy glad you finally got someone who listened to you and treated you like the mature adult you so obviously are (until it comes to sex on smut on here of course!)No matter what excuse you use we should have known that you would find some way round the sex ban!!!!!!

My mind has now gone completely blank so sorry to anyone I have missed as usual you may asumme I felt the correct emotions at the correct places!

Bleuravin glad to see my buddy has been back on posting! I will from now on pay particular attention to your posts in the hopes I will feel I know you a little better then I might not feel so terrified of texting you!

SpringySunshine · 04/03/2009 10:01

She did say sunny & coastal... I think we've found our new best friend there!

I'm not too bad today. Had a bit of a breakdown last night, but am bouncing back. I got all weird & crisis of faith about my body. All through the pregnancy, I've somehow just known that the baby would be okay. Even when I've been worried it's been a paranoia that I've understood to be a paranoia. I've completely trusted my body to do exactly what it's meant to when it's meant to. Last night I had a big freak out about the CS thing, & how I didn't know that he'd be okay anymore. Then started thinking about worst case scenarios & it just got really ugly.

I was mostly just hormonal & very tired, so am feeling much more rational now

LuLuBai · 04/03/2009 10:01

Bronze I think 12/04 would work well there.

bronze · 04/03/2009 10:02

It would be better than 08/04 wouldn't it as I'm not due til 24th
Oooh 21/04 would join them together nicely and be around the right time

PuzzleRocks · 04/03/2009 10:05

Bronze - There is a very strong chance this one will be born on DD's 2nd birthday.

SpringySunshine · 04/03/2009 10:05

surprisenumber3, that's hopeful news - those extra weeks must've made such a difference to you & your LO.

PuzzleRocks · 04/03/2009 10:09

Surprise - What were those weeks like for you? Physically I mean?

SpringySunshine · 04/03/2009 10:13

To clarify (just realised that I've said something potentially ambiguous again!), I meant a difference to you emotionally, your LO physically - I get that it wasn't likely to have been the best you'd ever felt or anything like that But a lot less stressful to have your baby at almost 35 weeks than at 27, I'm sure

bronze · 04/03/2009 10:15

Puzzle- You could save money on birthday parties

electra · 04/03/2009 10:16

Sorry to hear the problems some of you are having - hope you are all feeling ok and the outcomes are good - thinking of you. My home birth is shelved for the time being - I have to wait until the next scan on Friday. The problem I have is that I am very much against induction procedures if my cervix isn't ready. I will avoid the syntocinon drip at all costs! I'm not giving up hope of the home birth though and if the baby looks ok I fully expect them to accommodate it! I'm 34 weeks now so worrying a bit...

Does anyone know if BHs get worse in subsequent pregnancies? I had the same problem as Swaliswan last night and was woken up with painful ones, in my back as well.

I have nearly packed a hospital bag too - would you believe?

bronze · 04/03/2009 10:18

Right off to paint a few more walls

back later

keep your cervices closed ladies

PuzzleRocks · 04/03/2009 10:20

Electra - Mine are definitely worse this time round.

LuLuBai · 04/03/2009 10:20

Puzzle have you made any plans for your DDs birthday in the end? Bit tricky isn't it.

Schulte · 04/03/2009 10:20

Morning all! Puzzle, no satisfaction survey here, but have you / LuLu received your HIP grant form? I am still on a mission there...

Swali - I'll only take one bag and take as little as possible. If I have to stay in longer, DH will have to pack more supplies. As for snacks, I took lots of cereal bars, and some chocolate but DH gobbled most of that. Dextrose is good, as are bananas but you'll obviously have to pack those last minute!

Off to Mothercare now to buy some exciting things such as maternity pads and newborn teats. How glam. Oh btw, any thought on mixed feeding? I didn't get on all that well with my breast pump so was wondering about the occasional bottle of formula - once a fortnight or so.

PuzzleRocks · 04/03/2009 10:21

Springy - Are you still in pain?

PuzzleRocks · 04/03/2009 10:24

Schulte - Not yet. I will be very miffed if I don't get it next week at my 34 week appointment.

Lulu - We will probably just have a small tea party on the day to be safe and then have a big day out a few weeks later when the baby has arrived.

LuLuBai · 04/03/2009 10:25

No HIP grant form either Schulte. Only just received my prescription exemption form!!! (That's the form, not yet the actual card that entitels me to free prescriptions and dentistry)

I hated pumping too. Really hated it. And even though I pumpled away, I couldn't get DD to take a bottle at all so I eventually defrosted all my frozen breast milk a couple of months ago and gave it to the cat .

Plenty of people have found mixed feeding works - particularly if they give a formula feed in the evening as it fills baby up for a bit longer and gets them more zzzzzz.

electra · 04/03/2009 10:25

Hopefully it's normal then? I keep trying to visualise what will happen when I go into labour. Previously my labours started in exactly the same way - at 3am and woke me up.....but then I remember that maybe I won't be allowed to go to term.....it's a bit weird not being able to plan anything. Ridiculous, I know as all pregnancies are different.

I am currently reading 'Childbirth Without Fear' - anyone else? It is supposed to help you overcome fears you have about the pain of childbirth and apparently if you change the way you think about it, it is a much nicer, less painful experience.
