Lol Patmum - Its probably Chuggington, 5.45 ish on Cbeebies on weekdays - the theme tune goes "chugger, chugger, chugger, Chuggington!"

We record it daily as DS doesn't get home till after its finished, and loves it. That and Mr Maker!

Sparklytwinkletoes · 19/03/2009 16:22

theme tune is here and I should have said, its about trains!

Cazza28 · 19/03/2009 16:40

stroopwafel Good news about the 8 week scan! x Now time to relax!

littlepea72 hope you day gets better it definitely sounds like one of those days you should have stayed under the duvet!

Not much to report with me except looking seriously porky now! Thank heavens I only have one week to get through hiding my tummy! My clothes are definitely getting tight but I refuse to but more until after my scan at 13 weeks! MustGetSleep I really feel your pain!

sammysam · 19/03/2009 17:19

stroopwafel-congratulations !

Littlepea-what a bad day-I hope it gets better and you manage to get your notes sorted in time. Have a lovely bath and get ye to bed-tomorrow will be better

I second chuggington-i'm sure that is what he means!

Cold drinks are better than luke warm but even then they aren't great. I'm really running out of ideas at the moment. Just had some OJ from a carton-yuk-it definately needs to be fresh-trouble is dp is too tight for me to start drinking only fresh OJ but that is all I can think of at the moment. Why oh why can't I drink water? Its even worse as I'm half way through orthodontic treatment so i'm terrified what all this fruit juice, squash and fizzy stuff i'm trying instead of water is doing to my teeth I'll get the braces of at the end of the year and have teeth like the picture they showed me to shock me at the begining

Calipsoflame-how did your scan go today?

I hope everyone is ok and not feeling as bad as I am....

MustGetSleep · 19/03/2009 18:13

No idea about the daki thing - I will say this though - DD called Dora "kek kek" for about 12 months, no way in the world would we have known what she meant

Argh for notes not being left.

Drinking - I am just having loads of ice lollies - home make with just a smidge of fresh juice in and mainly water if you're worried about your teeth.

Discussing with DH tonight what to do about telling people/the children. Another 4 weeks just ain't gonna happen.

patmum · 19/03/2009 20:01

sparkly & sammysam I love you.

It's been driving us up the wall for weeks. We'd been onto the chuggington website looking for a train with a suitable sounding name, we'd never listened to the theme tune. He must be saying "chugga, chugga, chugga" it sounds just right when we play it. You have our (mine and DH's) eternal thanks! I will check it out with DS over the weekend. But I'm certain you're right!

Seeing the midwife tomorrow for booking in (will raise VBAC anxiety then!) then need to wait another 10 days for scan.

It's not so much my tummy as my boobs that are giving me away. The "titty fairy" (as DH calls her) has definitely been to visit. Two people at work have guessed without me telling them.

I just want to go public. Roll on April.

MeHimCatBlob · 19/03/2009 20:25

Hi All

just catching up after a very long time - good to read all your news although most of you seem so much further on than me (9 weeks today!). Had my checking in appointment (and then ended up working till 7.30pm to make up for the 2 hours off work it took!) and apparently I have carpal tunnel syndrom - i wake in the night and my left arm had gone to sleep (I sleep on my right side) - apparently its not uncommon in pg?! IS this normal, will it go away again?! its quite scary at times.

Does anyone know much about triple test - my NHS area doesnt do neuchal fold scans so i have to wait for a triple test and then amnio if necessary.

anyway, enjoy the rest of the week and catch up soon

MrsPuddleduck · 19/03/2009 21:16

Hi all

Sorry to hear about all the morning sickness. I am getting it too. I can manage my first cup of tea of the day and then can only really drink water.

Was majorly sick last night after eating too much

sammysam · 20/03/2009 07:33

Morning!

Patmum-i'm glad we have helped

mehimcatbob-i'm sorry I can't help re tripple test but I'm sure someone else will or if you google it there'll be loads of info.

DD has had red cheeks again yesterday and still this morning-they are more blotchy this time. They aren't as red this morning though. Do you think it could be slapped cheek-i'm sure the NHS choices website said the rash could come and go. I can't remember which of us was diagnosed with it but if you are is there anything they can do or is it just a case of monitoring?

I got a very busy day ahead-have managed to leave everything to do today-and have to somehow fit some time in for dd to make some mothers day cards for my mum and granny-never gonna happen!! Need to pack for weekend at my mums as well-I never learn

LittleMissBliss · 20/03/2009 07:45

Good Morning,

just checking in not much to report.

11+4 today nearly at the 12 week mark!

Hope everyone has a lovely day and the sickness starts to ease off as we all grow closer to the 12 week mark.

CalypsoFlame · 20/03/2009 08:29

Morning lovely ladies,

Scan went very well yesterday, watched the baby drinking water and the water then in the tummy and bladder (aww!), and it jumped about grabbing its foot, so all very reassuring. The hospital has recently started the double screen for Downs; NT fold thickness and bloods, all done and results out there and then, (my odds for downs came out 1:13,325!), so impressed with the efficiency and clarity of the scan results.

Told my brother about the pregnancy in the afternoon since he was in London for the day, and he was so excited he promptly rang lots of people on his way home including some of my friends that I'd been planning on telling in person

'Celebrated' the scan by spending several fruitless hours shopping for a pair of maternity jeans - apparently you can't be petite and pregnant

So to anyone whose symptoms seems to have evaporated at during 9th week, and/or can't find any heartbeat on the doppler, fret ye not unnecessarily!

And to all those still feeling totally terrible, BIG HUGS and I hope it all passes away really soon XX

patmum · 20/03/2009 08:48

I too will have the blood plus scan combined screening and was worried that we'd therefore have to wait for results. Glad to hear you got them straight away, I hope we do too.

Had very disappointing products from Vertbaudet recently so watch out if you're ordering from them. On the plus side their returns system is very smooth (maybe they get lots of practice!)

MrsPuddleduck · 20/03/2009 09:06

Morning all

Calypso - glad your scan went well. I will stop fretting about lack of symptoms then!

Sammysam - sorry to hear your DD is no better. I have never come across it (thank goodness). Perhaps a trip to the docs if you can fit it in?

Re the testing - Staffordshire have just changed the way they do it from the triple test to the blood test then nuchal fold scan if necessary. As I remember he triple test just gives you your risks and then if you are high risk you are given the amnio. From what I remember it takes quite a while to get from the blood test to amnio. Perhaps they have speeded things up a bit.

Almost 10 weeks now, time is reaaally dragging!

HumphreysCorner · 20/03/2009 10:00

Morning all

Felt so awful yesterday but am more human today. Have got the MW coming round today for my booking in appointment-am 12+1.

CalypsoFlame-brill news about your scan. Spent an hour last night trying to find the heartbeat but I think she was hiding. Found it last Monday straight away so panicing now and will do until my scan on Tuesday.

We don't get nuchal scans so will be having the triple blood test at about 15 weeks which is what gave me the 1:195 risk with DD2 hence me having an amnio last pregnancy.

Dad has shortened my maternity jeans by 5 3/4 inches but the damned things refuse to stay up as there is no proper bump to hold them up-need braces! Never had this problem when I was overweight as everything just stretched over my podgy bits. Really thought I would get away with just wearing all my bigger clothes I had kept but they are too big in all the wrong places so will have to find some summer maternity clothes.

Have a nice day ladies.

5 3/4 inches! How tall are you hc?
I know you have said that you don't like the under bump ones, but what about the ones with the stretch panels in in the pocket bits? They should tide you over untill you have an actual bump. Next do some lovely maternity jeans and they are pretty cheap. I'm the opposite i don't like the over bump jeans i like the under bump!

littlepea72 · 20/03/2009 10:19

Its going to be one of those days yet again. My mw still cant be found, so i was given her phone number, left message & now can only wait to hear back from her, the med centre repeated to me, if i dont have any notes, they wont do the scan on tuesday. Great. Still feeling really sick, and the headaches are still here. Will be happy if i can get all this sorted out.

HumphreysCorner · 20/03/2009 10:53

I am 5 ft and these were regular length as they don't stock short in Mothercare. They are under bump with a lovely stretchy bit you can pull over your bump which currently reaches up to my bra but I feel safe and not falling out of my troos IYSWIM. I like to try things on rather than order online but see Next online has some nice clothes so may get some tops and a skirt for summer from there. I just don't like returning things as it makes me fret.

Littlepea-this is not good for you having all this stress. I'm still waiting for my MW to phone.

HC im only 5ft1 and i know what you are talking about lol...its not fun having to get your clothes taken up, even the petite ones can sometimes be to long!

I tracked the MW down myself & she told me that she hadnt had time to do them, nice of her to phone me and let me know! She said she will do them on Monday morning....seeing is believing!

LittleMissBliss · 20/03/2009 11:14

Sorry HC didn't mean to sound rude about your height i'm only 5'4, so no giant! I just had an image of you being 4 foot or something! Next do petite maternity too, do you not have a local next store? you can order into the store free of charge normally takes 3 days as they have to deliveries a week. Try it on in store and return it if it is not right there and then. I used to work for Next when i was at uni and lots of people would order a few sizes and return the stuff that wasn't quite right!

  • You can try it on in store and can return it if it is not right there and then!

In the original post it sounded like a demand rather than a statement! teach me to try and mumsnet whilst ds is up and about will retire untill his nap in 20 minutes!

HumphreysCorner · 20/03/2009 11:50

Oh you weren't rude at all. I didn't know you could order in store-that sounds much better.

LittleMissBliss · 20/03/2009 12:18

phew!

Ds is now asleep and have realised i have said that Next have a petite maternity range, which is not exactly true, but they do make shorter and longer length maternity jeans! I think i was thinking of funmum.com instead, they do a petite and tall range. I'm in the middle of being petite and regular, petite or shorter lenght trousers are just a little too short so look silly on me and regular is a little too long. So i end up stepping on the hem of my trousers/jeans and they become all frayed.

I have to say i am getting excited about having a bump! I have been getting bump envy when i see pregnant people when shopping.

sammysam · 20/03/2009 12:57

Calypso-I'm so your scan went to well!

Where I am you can choose to have the NT scan and then you have the blood test afterwards-then you will hear by phone within 2 days if it is a high risk and if not they post the results which will take about a week. I didn't hear anything yesterday so I must have had a low risk result

littlepea-I hope she does actually do them-I wander why they are so strict? I took my notes with me (as it said to) and she was really surprised I had them when I handed them to her after the scan!

Feeling very sick again today-I think this has been my worst week-hopefully it's building up and then will go very soon [please please please]

If I dodn't get time to check back before we go away-have a lovely weekend and a lovely mothers day
