Hi
Mustgetsleep do you like the twilight books too?Love all 4 books really like the name Edward but DP doesn`t like it.

DD definitely a child who likes to sleep next to someone whereas DS could never stand lying in our bed.Am too soft with her and too tired to get her out and most times I don`t notice her get in.Will try the wake up technique that sounds good.
Thanks everyone for the tips.

Been really clumsy since BFP keep stubbing(sp?) my toes everywhere and also really emotional when I was watching "I am Sam" last week I was crying all the way through and crying today at song on radio.

Will be going off to bed in a minute have a good night and good luck to ones with scans tomorrow
xx

I'm a Jacob fan You know you want to call the baby Renesme Tis clearly a genius name (what was the woman thinking?!!?)

Trying to get ready for school in amongst "I don't want to get dressed!" "She changed channels" and throwing up.

Joy.

Morning Ladies...
Has anyone far enough pregnant to have got over this tiredness and ms yet?. I just don't remember this being as bad first time round, and with a toddler who has just dropped his naps... the afternoons are a little trying at the moment!

Bella - My ds was also having problems sleeping the night (and has always to be honest!) and was creeping into our bed on a regular basis, and I would wake up and find him fast asleep next to me. But I recently stopped his nap as he was really hard to put down in the avvos and was also waking in the night for a few hrs. Now he is sleeping through the night until 6 or so and then coming in for a cuddle. FINALLY I am getting a better nights sleep. He's only 2 and a half, and it does seem a bit early to be stopping the nap but hey ho. He sometimes has 30 mins in the afternoons if we are out in the car and he falls asleep, and he can be really grumpy later in the afternoons too, but worth it for those sleepfilled nights! I do miss those 2 hrs to myself tho'.

Gonna have to go and dig my maternity clothes out soon... jeans are just too uncomfy now, although the amount Im eating at the mo, its probably nothing to do with baby! (6+5)

twinklegreen · 10/03/2009 09:12

Hi stroopwafel I'm not feeling sick anymore and I'm now managing to stay awake till at least 9.30pm which is a vast improvement, I'm 11 wks I noticed things improving at around 10wks. x

HumphreysCorner · 10/03/2009 09:46

Morning ladies

Good luck with your scans girls.

Sickness and tiredness marginally better here too and improved around the 9 1/2 week mark. Felt zombied last night but am trying to potty train DD2 so constantly watching her and jumping up and emptying the potty. Feel sick this morning and my head is thumping. Infact, every morning I sick up acid then usually that is it, just feel sick all day.

Back later!

spongebrainbigpants · 10/03/2009 10:08

Excellent news at the scan, heartbeat clearly seen and all looking good.

Due date 17th October .

Sorry to hear about all those suffering with MS - it's miserable but it's a good sign, so I for one am enjoying it! (Sure I'll take that back if it gets any worse though!! )

HumphreysCorner · 10/03/2009 10:16

Sponge thats fantastic.

Definite improvement in symptoms here - hardly ever feel nauseous any more. boobs still a tiny bit tender but not to same extent and less tired though not back to normal quite yet. Actually it's just a bit worrying - I don't feel at all pregnant anymore so I'm really looking forward to my scan. 13 days and counting!

MrsPuddleduck · 10/03/2009 11:17

Spongebrain - congratulations on the excellent scan results! It must have been wonderful after all that worry!

I can't remember who else is having a scan today but I hope it goes equally as well!

Happytangerine - I have my midwife appointment next monday too - only she is coming to the house.

Well I am 8 + 2 and feel a bit better this week MS wise. I got LOADS of rest at the weekend which helped. I still feel really bad come 7pm but can cope with that if I feel OKish in the day.

HumphreysCorner · 10/03/2009 11:20

I had another try with the doppler but can't get a heartbeat so of course am freaking again. After watching them on YouTube hear the heartbeat so easily at 8 weeks + I thought I might get something. Oh well, scan 2 weeks today.

Spnonge that is really fantastic news -I really can't wait for my scan now-i'll prob still be in there in exactly a weeks time I will however be pooing my pants beforehand-hopefully i'll have had good news by now

Feeling very sick again this morning-a few days in a row now-normally I get the mornings off-well not completely but they are much better. Maybe i'm at my peak at the mo?!

Hope everyone is well x x x

idreamofbeanie · 10/03/2009 12:10

Oh no HC, please don't worry. I'm sure the position of the baby and placenta plus loads of other factors all make it more difficult to find the heartbeat. It might be simple for some but I'm sure that's not always the case.

It's crazy - surely this should be a hugely exciting and happy time in our lives. Instead I just feel worried most of the time. For anyone on baby number 2 (or 3 or 4 ......) does it get better after the 12 week scan or do you just move on to worrying about the 20 week anomaly scan? I'm really hoping once I see a heartbeat and pass that magic 12 week mark I'll be able to feel I'm really going to have a baby and finally celebrate.

Cazza28 · 10/03/2009 12:31

Good news Sponge lets hope the rest go just as well!

MrsPuddleduck · 10/03/2009 12:33

Idreamofbeanie - I was far more paranoid throughout my second pregnancy than my first. I feel even worse this time as I have a 5 year old who will be really aware of things should they go wrong. I think the 12 week scan is a huge milestone though. As soon as I could feel the baby move I felt better as you can tell everything is OK if it is moving regularly.

CalypsoFlame · 10/03/2009 12:40

Congrats to spongebrain, excellent result

HC my friend who is 30 weeks now, had to try for around 25mins to find the heartbeat once when she was around 13-14 weeks, the baby just was tucked away out of range. It took me a fair while and several goes (and my bladder was full to the absolute brim!) and even then it was barely perceptible... And of course perhaps we're not as far along as we think (or are you dead sure of your dates?). 10 weeks is still pretty hit and miss from what I've read!

I actually can't put more clothes on, won't fit over the million layers I have and STILL I'm frozen, brrrr...

DevilsAdvocaat · 10/03/2009 12:51

yay sponge

ideamofbeanie i am more worried with this one than my first. i was working back then and didn't have a chance to think about so much i guess. i had a scan at 6 weeks and saw the hb. then i missed out on any antinatal care until about 20 weeks as my gp was crap. in the end i had all my antinatal care at the hospital as i just didn't trust them to look after me properly. i can't wait for my scan this time, 12 weeks is ages to wait!

hc don't worry about the doppler, leave it a week and try again. i don't have one for that reason!

all toddler sleep issues: be firm and consistent and they get it eventually. i am not into bed sharing at all as i'm a light sleeper. apart from the first couple of weeks with ds.

sammysam · 10/03/2009 12:52

idream I'm far far more paranoid this time round.....I was scared the first time but more of a kind of weird being worried that i'd go to the scan and there wouldn't be anything there because there never was iyswim (stemming from the doc not doing a pg test as i'd always thought they would) plus i'd not found mumsnet or really used the internet for much other that emails and none of my friends had had a baby so I had not heard of half of the things that can happen. Also dd wasn't planned-that doesn't mean i didn't want her from the moment we found out but we didn't have the months and months of ttc and the months of thinking about it before that-this time it feels like this has been in the planning forever and longer plus I have read so many truely sad and scarey stories that I am TERRIFIED . You are not alone. I was much much better after the scan last time round-so i'm hoping I am this time as well. Trouble is I get less mw apts this time so longer to go between each reassuring time to listen to the heartbeat.

Sorry for such a ramble I hope it makes some sense?!!

HC-don't worry-it is still very very early and so many things could be making it hard. That is exactly why i've resisted the urge to buy one-only 2 wks til your scan so really not too long now then you'll see the heartbeat!!

littlepea72 · 10/03/2009 12:53

Spongebrain!!!! Great, great news, so happy for you xxx

Icantbelieveitsnotbitter · 10/03/2009 12:59

My risk of miscarriage has now extended to 16/17 weeks as I've been exposed to and caught, the slapped cheek (parvovirus B19) virus - the swollen painful joints and itchy feet with fluey symptoms of 2 weeks ago.

It can cause up to 9% of pregnancies to terminate - added to the usual % risk!

In a way I'm not too stressed because if this baby doesn't make it at least I'll know why and the further away I get from suffering the virus, the more confident I feel [clutching at straws emoticon]

If I make it past the 17 week mark, I'll also be getting extra scans to check the babies heart as the virus causes fetal hydrops - water around the heart and fetal anemia.

Oh well, couldn't have avoided this virus if i tried and can't change anything now. Fingers (and legs) crossed xxxxx

LittleMissBliss · 10/03/2009 13:03

Hello all!

Today is the first day i've felt remotely normal! Not that tired, colds nearly gone, coldsores are healling and i'm feeling quite chirpy! managed to clean the house and get through allot of washing that has been pilling up. We even managed to get to our 9.15 toddler group all be it at 9.40. But i couldn't have managed that in the last couple of weeks just gone. So things are looking up!

I must admit i am also allot more nervous about this pregnancy. With ds i didn't worry at all. It was to the most part pretty enjoyable.

Sponge So glad the scan went well! x

Off to make ds some lunch and then more cleaning whoo hoo!

LittleMissBliss · 10/03/2009 13:08

ICBINB Please try not to fret, there is nothing you could have done and just think the percentage of a healthy pregnancy out weighs the percentage of un-healthy pregnancy or miscarriage. Try and think positive.
Like you said the virus was two weeks ago and bean is still going strong.

doggus · 10/03/2009 13:32

Sponge - I am delighted for you: wonderful news!

I am off for my scan in 5 minutes and will be back to report.

sammysam · 10/03/2009 13:35

ICBINB-keeping everything crossed for you-i'm sure everything will be ok though-on the positive side more times to see your baby Look after yourself-extra pampering/early nights etc to look after you and the baby-sending lots of hugs!

LittleMiss-glad you are feeling so much better today! I'm impressed you ever manage to make it to a 9.15-there is no chance we ever could!!!

sammysam · 10/03/2009 13:36

Good luck doggus-will be thinking of you x x x
