Ok so I'll start it off.

Has anyone else had a huge increase in discharge? It's gone from clear and not too much to thick and white, and copious amounts.

Hedgewitch I was just about to post on your other thread. I had a back to back endless labour with dd - but the pains did come and go on a reasonably regular basis like a contraction. I had some gaps where there was nothing - but there was definitely a pattern to it (even if not a nice contactions getting longer, gaps getting shorter pattern!. Dh even plotted the timings on a spreadsheet (he got a bit bored by day 2!!!)

Go and have a nice hot bath if you can and drink lots of water!

Boobz · 23/02/2009 16:38

Ha ha ha meep - that is hilarious! The things are DHs almost do for us...

No BH, no fanny pain yet, but I am finding that after lying on my side for more than an hour or 2, my hip on that side starts to ache, so I have to turn over and it then starts to hurt on the other side, so am constantly turning over every hour, getting up to pee every other hour, rendering a proper night's sleep useless. Fun - not.

Am 36+4 and I bet I go 2 weeks overdue so AGES to go yet, but getting there I guess. I still have loads to do (cleaning wise / buying homebirth stuff / getting waxed etc) but I think if he / she came now it would all be fine - I'm pretty ready!

Ok, dog looking for walk - better go. I bet I log on tomorrow and there are more babies!

xxxx

Boobz · 23/02/2009 16:39

our not are. Sheesh.

titmouse · 23/02/2009 17:52

boobz your sleeping pattern sounds exactly like mine, lol. I snore a bit too, just to add to my husband's delight at all the restlessness. I usually do one massive snore like a pig grunting and wake myself up and sometimes it's quite funny.

the MW is coming tomorrow with HB stuff and to see the house - any other HB-ers here, could you let me know what she might actually be looking for please? I'm quite nervous and have been bleaching everything in sight so she at least thinks the place is clean

kanga5 · 23/02/2009 18:01

Laughing at the idea of a titmouse snoring like a pig!! Pregnancy is so elegant.

I don't think MW will be looking at your cleaning skills! It is nice to be visited at home then she will be familiar with where you are if she is the one attending, where you might be able to set things up, ie they need a bit of elbow room! Last time my MW merely looked at the cream carpets and said get plenty of sheets out... and plenty of warm towels for baby.

I ended up in hospital anyway.

So much for the prep. This time she said don't worry we've got it all in the car, just have towels and a warm room for baby!

titmouse · 23/02/2009 18:11

thanks kanga do you know how many towels I should get ready? (for birth not tomorrow!) she said at my last appt it should be something like 4 each for me and baby but that seemed like loads.

several people have told me it's not always acceptable to HB in a rented house and that I should check to see if its ok with my landlord, and somebody else told me their MW said they couldn't HB in a rented house, I just wondered if anybody else has come across this?

kanga5 · 23/02/2009 18:25

I would probably gather together that many towels, best not to be looking for them when you've just birthed a baby. They don't have to be your guests' best ones either...

Don't know about HB if not your own home, but sounds odd to me to disallow it. Can't you have lots of old sheets and waterproof ones at that. Ikea does them.

It can't be that bad to have a HB, I would have thought some people do worse things to rented houses than that.

titmouse · 23/02/2009 18:32

my husband has a bart simpson towel that I am quite keen to find another use for...

I agree Kanga I think there's far worse things you can do in a rented house.

thanks for the help!!

MKG · 23/02/2009 18:34

Hi all. Is anyone else sleeping really well? These past few days it's like I just pass out, and I barely move. i don't even get up to pee anymore.
Baby can't come this week as I simply have too much to do.

I stayed up too late watching the Oscars Oh Hugh Jackman is so cute. Anyway now I'm suffering at work as I'm totally exhausted.

Titchy--I hope everything is going well.

Good luck MissMod!

twocutedarlings · 23/02/2009 18:37

titmouse i am also planning a HB, all my MW did when she came over was go through a birth plan with me (although she was also my MW for DD2 so she has been here on numerous occasions), she also had a look at where baby would be sleeping - apparently this a new and im not if it done in every area (i think its just for them to have a nose at the rest of your home tbh)

There is a HB thread here come and join us.

Right girls i need your help!! i have copied (cos im a lazy ass) what i have already posted on another thread about having a sweep, but i would really value your opinions!! please.

Im having the same dilemma at the mo (i was just about to start a thread, hope you dont mind if i join in ). I am 39+5 with DC3, since 25 weeks i have been suffering with Pelvic pain, the only way i can avoid it flaring up is to next to nothing!! (not easy with a 4&6 YO lol)which is driving me crackers!!, i feel like an i am 90!. I have also been suffering from really bad axiety, and combination of this and the pelvic pain means ive not slept right in weeks . I just dont know what to do?? I would be gutted if it didnt work and as i am not yet even 40 weeks im not sure if it would even work................ Oh the joys of pregnancy!

My MW has already offered to do one btw, she actually offered to try at 37 weeks.

Millie26 · 23/02/2009 18:40

MKG I'm sleeping like...a baby...

Such a nice change, I just wake up in the position I fell asleep in and dont get up to go to the loo either.

We should probably make the most of it!

twocutedarlings · 23/02/2009 18:42

Millie and MKG tis not fair!!! send some of that kip my way!!

CaptainKarvol · 23/02/2009 18:50

Loadz-a-messages!

titmouse - my mw was only interested in whether there would be space for her to get around the pool when she did her home visit. She wasn't checking the bathroom for mould at all!

twocute - I'd go for it (the sweep, that is). I had one last time, it was fine, not too uncomfortable. And it does give you an idea how much longer you have to go, cos your mw can tell if you are at all dilated or effeced.

Loads more I haven't read yet, off to catch up...

kanga5 · 23/02/2009 19:14

two cute I was just looking at that other thread half an hour ago and saw you there.

wondered if I should say something: my two pennies worth is

give it a try but your body needs to be ready I believe. When expecting no 4 I was offered a sweep at 40 +4, but I wanted to wait as I'd never had one before and wanted it all NATURAL. At 41 she asked again but not changed my mind. 41+1 I changed my mind and they did it 41+2 as I was feeling desperate. I was 2cm by then. then you go home have sex and a hot curry. DD born two days later. I don't know if it worked but it was slightly uncomfortable, and worth a try.

I will be keen to try it again this time.

goldmother2b · 23/02/2009 19:57

hello all - very of the sleepers out there - i'm definitely in the boobz school of sleeping!

I'm planning on asking for a sweep tomorrow at my MW appt - kanga is the sex a prerequisite as I'm not sure if DH will comply.......

kanga5 · 23/02/2009 20:33

Beg borrow steal, as it is worth trying don't you think???? Especially when you are desperate, just tell him you'll no longer be the crazy pregnant woman...he'll come round

titmouse · 23/02/2009 20:57

Hi again,
thanks for the help re midwife tomorrow.
twocute I'll pop over to the HB thread, got some catching up to do I think you're on to page 30! Good to see lots of people from this thread there though.

babyinbelly any news on your iron levels?

laumiere · 23/02/2009 22:15

Thanks for all the congratulations :-)

We're home and doing well, Gabriel is feeding like a champ and yes, there is a pic up now!

Michael (DS1) has come up and snuggled his new brother, and periodically comes over during feeds, gently stokes his hair and goes back to Igglepiggle.

I have to say though, do have my mum over and she's being a gem! Also have to recommend lavender oil and salt baths for healing :-)

Missmodular · 23/02/2009 22:51

Hi All,

Well that was a storm in a teacup - just came back from the labour ward (after waiting for two hours to see a midwife ) - had bp checked and it'd gone right down so after 40 mins of fetal monitoring I was packed off home. Very relieved - I'm not ready yet!

I must be getting past it - the idea of having sex to start off proceedings really doesn't appeal - I think I'd rather just have a sweep

Am very at all you homebirthers - would love to have the option but alas... Plus we've got horrible old carpets in our new house that can't be ruined any further - say, anyone fancy having their home birth at ours??

auntyspan · 23/02/2009 23:29

laumiere he looks so cute - and what a lot of hair!! I love the way babies totally spread out as soon as they have some room

Can't believe this time next week I'll be about to go into hospital for my c-section. I'll be pooing my pants - it all seems so unreal! I keep thinking I'm prepared but then have a massive attack of nerves... stupid really, this is number two for me so I should feel more confident I think!

jollyjoanne · 24/02/2009 08:38

Laumiere Gabriel is gorgeous, looking forward to seeing some more pictures.

Boobz my sleep pattern is very similar to yours as well even down to the snoring like a pig! Although I am managing to keep the sleep thing going for about 10 hours (well 10 hours of max 2hour sleeps between weeing, turning over and snoring).

Good luck today titchy (think I have the day right!)

laumiere Gabriel is so cute! Congratulations.

I'm sleeping okay, but have developed a really nasty cough which is a bit pants.

I had the weirdest night last night. I woke up thinking I had started having contractions and was waiting for the next one (which never came) and realised I had dreamt I was going into labour and nothing had actually happened! I'm getting a bit fed up of early labour symptoms popping up and then disappearing again - a few times a day baby moves round to the front, belly gets really hard - I feel sick and diarrhoeay, than half an hour later she's moved back to ROP and I feel fine again! Whenever I actually start I'm not going to believe it's really happening.

So far test results on my mum are okay, but we have to wait for more thorough ones next week to get a definite yes or no to the cancer.

laweaselmys · 24/02/2009 09:21

aw, fearlessfreak that's crap. I hate it when you're desperately tired and can't sleep, it's awful.

babyinbelly · 24/02/2009 10:04

No news on iron levels yet. Ringing at 10.30 today to hopefully find out.

I woke up the other morning thinking DP was coming home from night shift but actually he was just leaving for work on a day shift. Was really disappoited and felt a bit stupid too! As if I hadn't realised he'd been in the bed all night!

My car is going today Very glad to be rid of it but dont know how I will cope without. Will be sharing DP car!
