MS I saw a pic of Frankie on FB, he looks huge!!!! He's 2oz bigger than mine, and mine looks like he might break!
Sounds like you doing well at home though.

I'm having a strange day 3. Last time the baby blues kicked in and I spent day 3-5 in tears for no real reason and this time, I'm ok. Although the nesting has kicked in again, maybe because he wasn't due yet but have scrubbed my kitchen and bathroom from top to bottom even though my dad has been here and is a clean freak himself (dp said he emptied the rubbish bin every single day - for us that's not normal, are we dirty tramps? ), and I'm now itching to do the ironing but can't til ds1 (that's wierd) goes to bed.

herb You have my deepest sympathies with the sicky stuff, ds1 was like that. If he had a 6oz bottle he'd bring up 4oz and normally right into my hair as over the shoulder was the only remotemy succuessful winding position, the reflux didn't help either.....It's not good in public is it? I always felt people were really staring like I didn't know what I was doing or something. Luckily ds2 doesn't seem to have any probs (yet), but yeah, keep repeating it will pass, it will pass.....

Community mw came today. She said she can see a slight yellow tinge to Luke's skin so has ordered me to feed him every 3 hours and keep him by the window. I can't see it and told her that, she said she only mentioned it because of the GBS and if it was a 'normal' (her word) baby, she wouldn't have bothered mentioning it. Our next post-natal check is monday, but they not coming to house, we have to go to clinic. I'm really looking forward to getting the double pushchair out and going for a walk.

I wonder what's happening with MrsY? Hope she's ok and things have moved along quickly for her.

MrsY Hope your coping ok today? At least you have a little bit of action going on & know that it wont be too much longer until you meet your little girl Good Luck, sending a hug xx

Ms Welcome back Glad is going well with little Frankie, im going to check onto Facebook later to look at all these little baby pics xx

Sorry if ive missed any more announcements - Ive only had a quick skim through.

This morning me & DP did the deed....Ive since had a show & lots of BH today. Not sure if that means anything

Anyway, off to check out some pics

MamaGoose · 07/02/2009 17:47

lbb Indy is a bit yellow too. And a bit sleepy. All my babies have had slight jaundice. Apparently it's more common/worse if you are a rhesus-negative mother (which I am). Guess we just need to keep an eye...

swampster · 07/02/2009 17:56

McDreamy news: Well after worrying about Tues section being postponed McDreamy went into early labour yesterday and had Abigail Louise at 11pm last night 7lbs 1/2oz

MrsY's FB status message says MrsY is NOT in labour... (but it IS 4 hours old!)

onwardandupward · 07/02/2009 18:32

MrsY - rest rest rest rest rest lady if you possibly can. I was somewhat silent about this happening, wanting to just be ommmm about it, but I was having regular, seemingly pointless, period pain type contractions for EIGHT AND A HALF DAYS before I actually went into established labour. And the first day of them, I did the whole thing with calling the midwife and watching them happening and blah blah. If you can possibly rest through them, rest through them. When your body is ready, it'll go into labour.

The Real Thing feels quite different, at least it did for me this time. Rather than that crampy period pain stuff, I could feel my cervix stretching with every single contraction. And THEN it was time for action stations

PinkTulips · 07/02/2009 18:33

congrats mcdreamy

spotty.... yes take them and tell dh to eff off you no longer require his services

apparently you can squeeze them up your fanjo as close to the cervix as possible and they work even better but you may need dh's assistance for that i'd imagine!

had great fun playing in the snow earlier and spent most of the day snuggled up with dc's and cats on the couch.... highly recommended for any of the other overdue/imminently due ladies

am going to pop kids into bed now and head up for a nice long shower and to slather some clary sage oil on myself.... spent months looking for the damn stuff as i knew i hadn't thrown it out after i had ds and you wouldn't believe where it turned up..... on the kitchen window sill which i had attacked in nesting frenzy just a few weeks ago and it definitely wasn't there then dp claims he might have put it there if he found it on the floor but how in god's name did it get on the floor? i swear, some days i'm convinced we have borrowers!

ommmwardandupward · 07/02/2009 18:34

time for a new nickname

dinkystinky · 07/02/2009 18:35

Wow - mega congratulations to McDreamy on little Abigail's arrival (another lovely name). Hope her DH was there and the snow didnt cause any issues!!!

Tis a full moon tonight - am expecting to hear about some more arrivals tomorrow

LBB and Mamagoose - sorry to hear about the slight jaundice of little ones; hope it clears up soon.

Herb - sounds like you had a lovely time with DS. Sorry to hear DD is a bit of a slow eater/chunderer (DS was v greedy for first couple of months and used to overfeed then chunder all over me - generally down my top, yuck!); hopefully her digestive system will settle down soon (she was a little early so may be fairly immature) and start eating abit better and chundering much less.

Had a lovely day - so nice to get out of the house - and DS's phrase for today is "Wow - amazing" from the dance/circus thing. Did loads of walking so am really tired; think an early night is definitely in order tonight!!

Just been on facebook - beautiful baby photos Markstretch and LBB!

thehouseofmirth · 07/02/2009 19:17

Pink someone gave me a bottle of clary sage oil but I forgot to ask what to do with it! Stick some in bath or on me?

Thought I had DH all lined up for a bit of home induction this afternon but after 9 months of being very keen he picks NOW to be put off by my huge stomach. Have told him in no uncertain terms that come Wednesday (my due date) he'll be expected to get on with it no matter what! Romantic, hey?!

chilledmama · 07/02/2009 19:30

THOM-for mattresses...baby mattresses online

They are brilliant. They pretty much do any type of mattress and make it to any size/shape you need. I used them for a traditional bassinet (borrowed from friend) mattress with DS and it was perfect.
I now use them everytime rather than mothercare/JohnLewis.

Spent ALL of last night having mild contractions but they bloody stopped at around 5am...so annoying. Apparently extremely common in 2nd babies but I tell you...many more nights of that sort of annoyance and I'll be fishing her out myself!!

Congratulations to all new arrivals...All the names are lovely...especially Abigail which is on my list of possibles

thehouseofmirth · 07/02/2009 19:38

Thanks Chilledmama, how long does it take them to send out? Just getting a bit concerned I may have left it a bit late for mail order... though I guess that's wishful thinking seeing as there's nothing going on here!

dinkystinky · 07/02/2009 20:09

Chilled - sorry about those all night contractions; how annoying!

Pink - sounds like you've had a really lovely day (so good you posted it twice!) with the kids, snow and kittens. Hope its just what you needed and that and the clary sage do the trick for you.

dinkystinky · 07/02/2009 20:11

P.s. THOM - having met you in person, you dont have a huge stomach - its a lovely neat bump! If DH wont help out, make like Spotty and invest in that evening primrose oil...

OP posts:
littleboyblue · 07/02/2009 20:31

KT Fingers crossed for you.......
MammaG I'd not heard that about the bloods, I'm positive. I'm sure he's just been extra sleepy because the heating's been on high today and I left his blanket on, plus with 4 hr feeding, he's fuller....His last feed he took whilst still asleep, took his clothes off, changed nappy, changed holding positions etc all through and couldn't wake him so called post-natal ward to run it by them and they said see what happens at check on mon but doesn't sound like anything to worry about.
Congrats to McDreamy, again a lovely name. Getting bored of saying that, someone pick a crap name only joking
MrsY Hopefully the past 4 hours has seen some action, but if not, won't be long. But just rest, rest, rest, rest!
dinky glad you and your ds had a good day. Thought I was going crazy reading PT's post, was sure Id just read it.......
THOM I second dinky you do not have a huge stomach, your baby bump is very cute

idontbelieveit · 07/02/2009 20:34

Well done McD! COngratulations.

Questionkid · 07/02/2009 20:52

And more babies have come! Hurrah! Congratulations all. I've had a look at the various pics on FB too and I'm very pleased to see that everyone is producing absolutely gorgeous LO's so far.

I spent my day cleaning today, especially some fairly vigorous hoovering, in the hope that it might make something happen. Still nothing, so I'm still waiting. I've been having my show for about the past week, with this morning being particularly heavy (sorry if TMI!!!!) so I'm hoping that's a sign of getting closer and closer. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the sleep and the clean house!

Happy Saturday nights everyone.

thehouseofmirth · 07/02/2009 21:06

Ladies, you are too kind! I have to say the last few weeks have seen quite an expansion in the tummy department which is no bad thing otherwise but was rather irritating today. Will have to do as Dinky suggests and break out the evening primrose oil instead.

LBB I'm sure jaundice is nothing to worry about. DS was a bit yellow when he was born and i couldn't see it either

thehouseofmirth · 07/02/2009 21:13

BTW should I be concerned that the little finger on my left hand is numb most of the time?

dinkystinky · 07/02/2009 21:18

THOM - that really doesnt sound good about your finger. Do you have rings on it or normally have bad circulation? If not, definitely speak to your GP or midwife about it - never heard of it as a pregnancy symptom but is not to say it isnt a totally benign one...

OP posts:
catstar · 07/02/2009 21:35

Congratulations McDreamy - one of my favourite girl's names too!!

LBB - good to have you back and at all the nesting!! Hope Luke doing well.

Dinky - I had heard that about the full moon too. And also apparently more women go into labour during thunderstorms. I'm actually getting impatient now for this LO to make an appearance. Feeling very uncomfortable walking and turning over in bed and want my lap back so I can give DD proper cuddles!! She now says "brudder" when I ask what's in my tummy and we've been trying to get her to say "Sam" but it comes out "man"!!

Hope you new mums out there are getting some sleep. It must be cold getting up to do night feeds in this weather. DD was a July baby so I didn't think about the cold. This time I have a lovely new fleecy dressing gown which I have been keeping in my hospital bag - although God knows I won't need it in hospital with the temperatures they keep there!

Better go up to settle DD - we have air or something in our radiators and whenever the heating comes on it disturbs her. Gonna be a cold one tonight so don't want to turn it down too low.

Looking forward to checking in tomorrow .
