Oh Boffin, come over and make me some schnitzel and kaiserschmarrn!

Boffin your DD sounds brilliant. And you too. My mother is quite neurotic about booze. She accuses me of having a drink problem if I finish a whole glass of wine. If I fell off a chair (however happily) she would march me off to AA. Ah well, what she doesn't know won't hurt her.

Schulte · 28/01/2009 15:07

Hee hee, does colocation sound like something nasty to do with your bum? I am just checking a translation for a web hosting company and keep jumping every time I see this word!

LuLuBai · 28/01/2009 15:09

Run it past Springy and see if it makes her wince.

BoffinMum · 28/01/2009 15:10

DD drinks far too much and then her eczema flares up. But it's her liver - I did what I could.

God Schulte I could scoff a whole pan of Kaiserschmarrn up the top of an Alp right now with an Apfelsaftschorle side order and a Diat Pils to follow as a concession to the pg.

BoffinMum · 28/01/2009 15:12

Colocation sounds like something Springy has got!!

gingersarah · 28/01/2009 15:12

Hello all you busy chatty women!

Boffin, great news about things getting sorted.
Nutty, good luck with the application. Grit your teeth and milk it.

Suddenly I have severe stabbing pains in my pubic area and am find it very hard to walk. I think this is because my new medication is helping the wheezing so something else has to go wrong! I have just seen the MW and she said there was nothing to be done about it - it was only quite sore then (this morning), not suddenly stabbing and immobilising (as it was when I got off the train afterwards and has been ever since). I can't go back to the sodding doctor for the fifth time in 3 weeks... I have to, don't I. Very very slowly.

BabyBolat, you need to rest - sleeping in means your body is trying to tell you something.

BoffinMum · 28/01/2009 15:13

xposts and great minds, LuLuBai.

GingerSarah - I think you should check it out with your MW. I did have similar-ish pains with DD towards the end and found it very hard to walk. It was once her head started engaging. But I don't want to panic you too much cos the head can start engaging weeks before you actually go into labour (and disengage too, or so I gather). I was 1/5 engaged for 3 or 4 weeks before she started progressing down.

Schulte · 28/01/2009 15:18

Oh hello, Gingersarah! How are you getting on with getting a seat on the train? So are you another SPD victim then?

Boffin, and then some schnaps and skiing downhill as hard and fast as you can... hmmm... I should have planned this pregnancy to NOT overlap with the skiing season!

BoffinMum · 28/01/2009 15:19

Ginger, this sounds like the dreaded SPD.
WTF is going on??? Everyone seems to be getting it!!

I reckon you need:
Paracetemol 1000mg 4 x daily
A prescription for codeine phosphate 30mg or 60mg up to 4 x daily depending on what GP says
A physio appt with a women's health physio
A sacro-iliac belt (free from NHS physio or buy one from BUPA shop)
As much rest as humanely possible before you knacker the pelvis even more
Lots of warm baths to keep muscles from going into spasm too much

then ...

a chiropractic appt with someone who is used to treating pg women.

Schulte · 28/01/2009 15:20

Gingersarah, if it IS the head engaging, maybe try doing a headstand

BoffinMum · 28/01/2009 15:22

Schulte, I love skiing but I am quite rubbish at it. But I am hoping to get a lot better once I have got rid of this dratted SPD.

BoffinMum · 28/01/2009 15:23

Where are you from, Schulte, btw? I was wondering.

Schulte · 28/01/2009 15:24

Karlsruhe You? Half Bavarian I gather?

Wow I go out for lunch for 45 minutes and 2 more pages down - go girls we might be OK for 3 days - you never know....

Springy, I bleed when I do a number two too! but not worried so much about piles, just that I am sure it is when it is too hard and big to come out smoothly!!

Re Walking, DH has nicknamed me the penguins from madagascar cos I waddle if I have to walk more than 100 metres anywhere! funny guy!!

3 months is a lifetime - what a very silly thing to say to a pg woman!!! DH keeps saying to me 8.5 weeks is so quick, I can't wait and I am like 'REALLY! REALLY! 8.5 weeks is quick - YOU can't wait!' then he is quiet and giggles to himself like a child!

There has been a lot of bashing around down by my fanjo today can't decide if it's fists or feet but it bloody hurts!

phew finished - my goodness that woman could talk - maybe i should have invited her on here to help the thread get to its record usage.

is there a traditional bavarian dish with noodles that you make in a little thing that looks like a grater, with lots of yummy and very fattening cheeses - a bavarian friend of ours once made it for us, and then gave us the tool to make it ourselves for a wedding present, but we never found a recipe.

Schulte · 28/01/2009 15:29

Kaesespaetzle! I can dig out a recipe for you Conker... leave it with me...

Schulte · 28/01/2009 15:31

Try this

gingersarah · 28/01/2009 15:32

Hi Schulte, and everyone!
Train: for the past few days I have been offered seats! No news back from the Southern people on my email asking about priority seating, etc.

I think it is SPD - sitting at my desk definitely makes it worse, could that be SPD?

I am going to be trying my work's patience if I take more time off for more appointments. but... I don't think I have a choice.

BarbarellaNz · 28/01/2009 15:33

Hello Lovely April Ladies!

I am afraid I have to admit defeat! I have been trying desperately to catch up after having a week and a half without my beloved laptop (dh took it to work as his one was being repaired). I don't think I can do it

So that I can feel that I have at least a thumbnail sketch of your lives over the past week or so, could you all please complete the following mini-questionnaire...

How are you feeling?

How are things at home?

Which pregnancy-related things are you
a) enjoying?

b)getting pissed off with?

What is the
a) funniest thing that's happened to you recently?

b) most annoying thing?

Do you feel organised/ready for the baby?

Sorry for being so useless and not able to read everything that's been happening with you!!

Had 29 week scan today - all fine so far. One baby 3 pounds 1 oz, one is 3 pounds 3oz and one is 3 pounds 6 oz so have 10 pounds of baby exactly! Tummy is starting to feel very heavy and I get very sore hips when walking even short distances these days - what an old Nana!

Only 5 weeks till they are born and starting to get very nervous - we were told yesterday that it was unlikely they'd have enough cots in the NICU for all three to be together and that it's likely they'll be split between two (or even three - worst case scenario) hospitals. I had a big cry when I got home over that one as I don't like the thought of them being alone .

I love the new thread title!

XX Barbarella
