He says that there are THREE cities, destinations or experiences involved...

so it COULD be Ireland, we drive through England, into Wales and board the ferry!

BabyBolat · 28/01/2009 20:17

Well on Eurostar you can get to calais, brussels, paris or lille, none of which are pepperminty or purple!

Are you based in London Kitty - if so you would only need 30 minutes or so to get there so that rules the 1.5 hours out!

It could be scotland too - everywhere has peppermint creams

Although scotland you would probably drive or fly and you don't need your passport - I think it's Ireland!!!

OP posts:
BabyBolat · 28/01/2009 20:20

but you couldn't go on any rides if it was there!!!

Intriguing...

here's another clue -

"peppermint & purple relate to experience, place or destination - and both begin with P.

The third one remains a mystery but will happen FIRST!"

So the order will be Mystery, Peppermint and Purple for the 3 experiences - he's making me more confused than ever now!!!

So it's a different place each night then? Maybe?

conkertree · 28/01/2009 20:22

LuLu - we have shortlists but for a long time felt like you that none of them shone out - and as soon as we picked Struan for ds it felt right. But the more we have focused on one name at a time, eg thought of it as that name for a week, some have gone down the list and some risen up, so think we are pretty set now and am pretty happy with them. My sil had a boy as well cause our favourite girl's name was also on their list (although I didnt tell them that) so was quite pleased that its still available for us.

kitty - thats really exciting - i love clues. when you said purple I thought Cadbury World- but thats just cause I am obsessed with chocolate just now. Boat to lavender fields in France? But probably not purple yet. Hmm.. am intrigued.

conkertree · 28/01/2009 20:23

damn it missed all the latest posts as usual - need to goback and read the rest of the clues now

BabyBolat · 28/01/2009 20:25

My vote is with Ireland and I think that your DH is just being mean and trying to confuse us now!!!

OP posts:
conkertree · 28/01/2009 20:25

kendal mint cake - lots of walking around there.

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 28/01/2009 20:26

So let's think of places that start with a P and are pepperminty or purple -

Paris?
Portsmouth?
Puddle-on-Thames????

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 28/01/2009 20:32

I think my brain works better in the bath... all this talk of peppermint and lavender is making me feel sleepy! Night y'all...
Keep the guesses coming and I promise I'll post as soon as I know where we're headed...

conkertree · 28/01/2009 20:32

are you meant to guess tonight or does he want it to be a surprise tomorrow? just wondering to see if any of the clues are decoys to stop you guessing too soon.

Kitty- my first thought was Paris, but I can't really make the clues fit the destination. And surely even a man would realise that you don't want to wear walking boots for Paris (however comfortable). The capital of chic requires footwear that is, well... chic.

Purple is very Scottish too. The passport could be a red herring. And there is a minty cake (quite similar to kendal mint) that you can get up there. Lochs and lots of coastline for boats and certainly plenty of walking, although munro-bagging might be low on your agenda in your 3rd trimester.

Could be Stockholm - lots and lots and lots of boats and boat museums there (as I discovered when I went with my ex-naval officer maritime obsessed husband)

Boffin I love Felix. It's DH's godson's name - he is insanely cute.

Supposed to be googling wedding things but so much more fun to catch up on a days gossip - wow, takes a while doesn't it ?!

Love riddles but very crap at them......re flying: could he have got a letter from your GP himself without letting on?? Passport could just be for ID for an internal flight - you have to have photo ID and it's the easiest thing to take.

oooooooh am sooooooooooo of all you ladies having lovely treats especially those going away. We're not even planning a honeymoon because dp wants to save his leave for when baby comes (and we can't afford it, and we don't have anyone who can have ds and dd)

like the idea of the quiz..........
How are you feeling?
pretty okay, tiredness my biggest problem but guess that is as much to do with having 3yr old and 2yr old to run rings round me

How are things at home?
house is a pit but then it's always tended to that anyway as I hate housework and am just one of those messy kinds of people - at least I have an excuse at the mo

Which pregnancy-related things are you
a) enjoying?
Love my 2yr old blowing raspberries on my bump and saying "baby like dat"
b)getting pissed off with?
feeling like I am huge this time round - saw a friend this week who is due next thurs and I look just about as big as her with 9wks to go!!!
What is the
a) funniest thing that's happened to you recently? My 3yr old ds asked about how baby would get out (not yet had the how did it get in there question thankfully) and explained mummy has a special hole - he now thinks he can "see" baby if he lookd between my legs

b) most annoying thing?
Who mentioned Skiing ? having been since falling preg with no1 and soooo miss it. Doesn't help we have a friend that lives just near Wengen and he keeps asking when we are going over again......even had the nerve to suggest dp have a ski stag weekend [sob]

Do you feel organised/ready for the baby?
It'll be fine so long as we can just put baby up into the loft and let it work things out itself as all our stuff is up there from last time. Suppose we should really start looking it out !
