Here we go again....

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
BoffinMum · 28/01/2009 16:11

I don't do anything, I was just lucky. Actually, I suppose I do catch every spare drop in breast shells and freeze it in little bags, and also I pump on one side whilst feeding on the other, and freeze that too. However the latter is easier said than done with triplets, I imagine.

BarbarellaNz · 28/01/2009 16:11

WhatFreshHell I'm with you! I can't even do up my shoelaces in under half an hour let alone play squash!

LuLuBai · 28/01/2009 16:12

Oh WhatFreshHell - good to hear from you. Wondered where you were. Sorry you are a bit blue.

And Purple - don't worry about the 'NOTHING ORGANISED'. I got myself into a bit of a state yesterday about it yesterday (see my comment about kitchen floor - my life is truly chaotic at the moment). But feeling calmer today. Babies don't really need all that much do they.

And Barbarella - for milk production plenty of fluids are vital and if you need a bit more 'ooomph' try drinking fennel tea. I actually had to lay off the fennel tea as I my boobs were like milk missiles squirting innocent passers by.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 28/01/2009 16:13

no. she said they should have a booklet for me at the hospital.

BoffinMum · 28/01/2009 16:13

It is a shame I am not still in Battersea as thinking about it I would have happily wetnursed one out of the three from time to time whilst feeding mine on the other side. That would have worked quite well - four babies, four norks.

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 28/01/2009 16:14

Exactly. And yet other people seem to carry on cycling to work or dancing till 2am or other such carryons. They make it hard for the rest of us, they should be stopped.

oh and one last moan, had to go for a glucose tolerance test today to see if I have gestational diabetes, don't think I have it but am now minus quite a lot of blood from all the tests.

BarbarellaNz · 28/01/2009 16:15

BoffinMum We could have bonded over breastfeeding! Four norks are better than two.....

LuluBai Going off to get fennel tea in preparation!

LuLuBai · 28/01/2009 16:18

I had my first boob leakage this morning actually. And yet I still forgot to pick up any breastpads in town - doh. If only they could have been amongst DDs random pilfering hoard that would have been handy.

Won't be mentioning this to DH or he will stay up in Birmingham for ever and he promised he would come home tonight. (He's a little bit afraid of lactation - his mother never breastfed him at all)

BoffinMum · 28/01/2009 16:19

Well I have fed so many babies of my own what's one more?? I can already do that nifty under the arm rugby ball position thing that you're supposed to do with multiples.

You'll have to move to Cambridge ...

LuLuBai · 28/01/2009 16:19

When did you leave Battersea Boffin?

BoffinMum · 28/01/2009 16:21

1998!

BoffinMum · 28/01/2009 16:23

PurpleMonkey, you need to be taught the exercises properly, a booklet won't do it. Is there a pg Pilates class local to you?

LuLuBai · 28/01/2009 16:24

Briefly overlapped. I first moved to that area in 1997.

BoffinMum · 28/01/2009 16:26

How cool LuLuBai! I quite liked it there actually. I liked Wandsworth Common and all the bars and so on.

Claireykitten · 28/01/2009 16:28

How are you feeling?

Not too bad in general but fed up of having thrush and am convinced I have SPD which is getting progresively worse.

How are things at home?

An absolute tip but at least I have a 15month old monster to blame!

Which pregnancy-related things are you
a) enjoying?

Feeling baby wriggle

b)getting pissed off with?

not being able to move without hurting. Not being able to find a position that is comfortable in bed and as a result not sleeping.

What is the
a) funniest thing that's happened to you recently?

Reading the giggling thread on MN particularly the afore-mentioned woman pinning the doc to the wall with her min min.

b) most annoying thing?

Lack of help/support from Drs/midwives (not including my wonderful consultant who has got me my water birth!)

Fed up of being told everything is "the joys of pregnancy"

Do you feel organised/ready for the baby?

have ordered moses basket and baby nest thing and we have stuff from ds to use but no I am in no way ready/prepared for another little bundle she can she stay where she is for now!! Until she really hurts me and then she gets told to get out right now!

BoffinMum · 28/01/2009 16:32

I think our next thread ought to be called something like "Min Min Minxes"!!

LuLuBai · 28/01/2009 16:34

Min min minxes - ha ha ha.

BabyBolat · 28/01/2009 16:36

How are you feeling?

Blurgh, there are no other words but actually compared to a lot of people fine!

How are things at home?

Home is my happy place - I do love it and things are great (even with DH's messiness!)

Which pregnancy-related things are you

a) enjoying?

The little alien making me laugh with his movements and seeing DH's proud little face when he looks / feels his LO inside me!

b)getting pissed off with?

Far too long a list...

  • headaches
  • Constant weeing in the night
  • Being fat
  • Waddling
  • People making STUPID pregnancy comments that are just insulting!
  • WORK - that is mainly it -WORK!

What is the
a) funniest thing that's happened to you recently?
Being bought a breast pump and other general pregnancy things and watching peoples faces when I clearly didn't know what they were or how to use them!!!

b) most annoying thing?
WORK, WORK and more WORK!!
People's stupid comments about pregnancy.

Do you feel organised/ready for the baby?
Yes and no - yes I have physical things (with the exception of steraliser, some sort of cot thing for our bedroom and nappies) but mentally not a chance!

Barbarella - I really really hope that they can stay together - but you and your DH will be great parents and make them feel equally loved wherever they are and hopefully will be for such a short time - they are great weights for triplets and they still have a month of growing time - chances are if they put on a couple of pounds more they wont need to be in NICU for very long which will be great!

OP posts:
conkertree · 28/01/2009 16:37

whatfreshhell - if there are people doing things like that - i don't think they are on the April thread (or are keeping very quiet) so you are in good company.

good to hear from you barbarella and good that things are going fine although very about the babies maybe being split up - will keep fingers crossed that they are quiet around the time of your birth, and that they can squeeze them in with you. Hopefully they wont have to be in too long either and you can have them all at home with you in no time.

How are you feeling? Quite good - bit of pelvis pain but nothing compared to many others on this thread.

How are things at home? Great - ds is gorgeous (as is dh of course), and think the roof is finally fixed (touch wood) after a long time of worrying about it.

Which pregnancy-related things are you
a) enjoying? Eating chocolate lots while only feeling mildly guilty.

b)getting pissed off with? pain particularly overnight - insomnia too just when i could do with some sleep.

What is the
a) funniest thing that's happened to you recently? had a fit of the giggles last night when ds just wouldnt settle at 11pm and eventually came into bed with us - then proceeded to turn sideways and take up most of our 6ft bed, and then snoring. it was either giggle or cry as i was desperate to sleep at that point too - very nearly went through and slept in his cot.

b) most annoying thing? mw making me feel stupid for phoning today to see about making a physio appointment. i know the pain isn't life threatening, but its certainly affecting things to a material extent when i cant walk far or sleep without being in a fair bit of pain.

Do you feel organised/ready for the baby? no but i am quite relaxed about that. got some washing and tidying to do, and my hopsital bag to buy for and pack, but apart from that - not much to do.

BoffinMum · 28/01/2009 16:39

Yes, I was thinking they are a great size for triplets and could be born today and probably be fine.

It's so exciting having a triplet person in our group!

LuLuBai · 28/01/2009 16:40

BabyB is you haven't bought nappies yet and are still thinking of getting washables I would recommend Modern Baby. I truly love my washable nappies. But there are whole threads about this so I won't wax lyrical here.

Bleuravin · 28/01/2009 16:44

Right, hate to budge in without catching up...but DH and I are in the middle of a heated discussion and I need some feedback...

having friend and her child over tomorrow night, just found out said child has cicken pox... I've had chicken pox. Talked to GP and they said it was fine as long as I'm certain I had it...no SIL called (who was supposed to visit this weekend) and said I'd be horribly exposed and will be putting baby at risk... What info do any of you have.

LuLuBai · 28/01/2009 16:45

Oh Conkertree - your DS has brought a smile to my face. DD likes to sleep across our bed too. Stretching out across our pillows. Pity the poor person who gets the foot end as she has my grandfather's dancing feet. They tap away however soundly she is sleeping.

I'm trying sooooo hard to not let her into our bed at the moment though or it is going to get really crowded when the next one comes. She co-slept for most of the first 6 months. Not because I planned it that way, but I couldn't get her to sleep anywhere else and was desperate.

BabyBolat · 28/01/2009 16:45

Oh and WhatFreshHell - welcome back - don't worry about work - bosses are knob jockeys! - he is probably annoyed because he know he isn't doing his job properly and just taking it out on you! feel free to rant to us tho!

My boss just made me close the window behind me and pretty much made me feel really crappy across the office (he is so bloody rude and condescending sometimes) because he was cold - even tho everyone around me is as hot as I am - am tempted to tell him to f-off and seeing as I am 32 weeks pregnant and haven't even had my risk assessment yet he can stick his window closing up his arse (we don't have [proper heating or AC in our office! and there is no air whatsoever - it's not even a cold thing, it's more fresh air!

grrrr - I want to be at home in my happy place!!!

Bleu you should be absolutely fine. Chickenpox is contagious before the spots emerge, so you are more likely to be infected by someone who doesn't yet know they are going to come down with it.
