Here goes-I got a BFP on DPO 11 which makes me due 1st October. Was going to avoid the antenatal thread until I was completely sure but have already done 3 tests and am still not convinced. Come on and join in the worry fun.

Just got back from Doc's and now officially pregnant but like altagloria I feel like a fraud still. Waiting for the ante-natel booking with midwife who will call me this week. It's a home visit???? Is anyone else having a home visit? I do feel this is adding more pressure to make sure the house is tidy for the visit. Feel somehow that they will be judging whether or not my home is suitable and if I'll be a good mother.

Anyhooo...welcome to all newbies and hope all are feeling well xxx

theboob

I don't think they have [http://www.bloomingmarvellous.co.uk/ look]!

LittleMissBliss · 16/02/2009 13:47

look

babyinacorner · 16/02/2009 13:50

altagloria and chuckles - you have my sympathies on the no symptoms front!

Welcome to all newbies by the way! I do read everone's post - despite the me me me posts!

Quick question for anyone who has had their first appointment with the midwife. My GP gave me a set of notes/green form but didn't say I had to do anything with it other than take it to my appointment. I had a quick look last night and the first section is just all personal details - am I meant to fill all that in before I go or do I do it there?

bubblebell1 · 16/02/2009 14:34

Hi girls!
can i join? ive had my 2nd faint bfp this morn.. i dont know wether im tempting fate joining or not but i have to talk to someone about it [crazy nervous emotion]

Icantbelieveitsnotbitter · 16/02/2009 14:41

idreamofbeanie - that might be the form I referred to in an earlier post - the pack I've been given is huge - loads to complete. I was told to complete it BEFORE my appointment with the midwife.

Welcome bubblebell1 - congratulations on your BFP !

HumphreysCorner · 16/02/2009 15:26

Welcome and congratulations bubblebell1.

Forms? Way too tired to fill out forms.

Off to mum and dad's as soon as the girls have tidied up.

Calypso - just seen your message from Sat. I've been seen by staff at the Gynaecology department, in particular the fertility team, and they were all BRILLIANT. I've also seen staff at St Thomas' (which is where the actual maternity services are) and they were a bit less welcoming (but this might be because they were in the emergency team, which might have an effect on friendliness) but still really helpful and caring.

Thought I had a smidgeon of nausea this morning - but it went away after 5 minutes. Probably making it up........ Been quite tired and still have very painful boobs. And terrible constipation. Otherwise, I don't feel any different..... I'm 6+5 at the moment.

The only form the GP gave me was the one to apply for exemptions from prescription charges etc. If this is the one you've been given, you should send it off as soon as possible, so that you can start getting free dental treatment and so on.....

idreamofbeanie · 16/02/2009 15:38

Cheers Treats - I did get the exemption form but I have to wait for the midwife to sign it on Wed. The other form is more like a booklet with details of ante-natal appointments, scans etc but has a long sections at the start just for names, addresses, medical history etc.

smallone · 16/02/2009 16:08

bubble Hurrah! Very pleased to see you, I hope that positive turns very dark, very soon!

smallone · 16/02/2009 16:14

I think Blooming Marvellous are in administration, trying to sell off enough stuff to please the banks, they were financed by an Icelandic company I think. I'd buy in their shops rather than online, you never know if what you pay for will turn up in times like these.

DevilsAdvocaat · 16/02/2009 16:23

yay bubblebell!

prisci, ds is 18 months now and is much easier to look after than he was from 12-15 months. he is more independent andcan communicate better so less frustration etc.

as for the bf, my friend's dd self weaned when she got pg (dd was 9 months when she got pg). she went to the docs who asked if she was pg as the hormone levels in your milk can make it taste different or something. in fact that was how she found out she was pg!

me: mostly vomitting and nausea fills my day. thank god dh is on half term this week as i can let him prepare all food for us. had an hour car journey which set me off for ages when we got to destination. i actually cried today in a heap of morning sickness self pity . i think i'll blame that on the hormones.

can someone please tell me what to eat at each mealtime? i can't think of anything except a crisp sandwich. mmmm... nutritional.

smallone · 16/02/2009 16:26

Devil I can't help I'm afraid, all I'm eating is marmite on toast! Definitely need to eat 5 times a day tho, and really trying to eat healthily but there's only so much fruit you can eat.

theboob · 16/02/2009 16:27

oh strange,i tried to order some stuff a few weeks ago,and it did not work then i saw this link www.guardian.co.uk/business/2009/jan/29/blooming-marvellous-serious-food-collapse and i just thought it had

smallone · 16/02/2009 16:28

I think someone should invent a pregnancy menu book, or a meals on wheels service, at the mo I can eat most things but thinking about it makes me feel sick, so if someone could just plonk it down in front of me, that'd be great.

DevilsAdvocaat · 16/02/2009 16:28

gah. i can't stomache anything if i have to think about it beforehand iykwim.

dh just said he'll go to the shops and buy anything i fancy.

so far i have:

s and v crisps
orange juice
bread

DevilsAdvocaat · 16/02/2009 16:29

stomach

smallone · 16/02/2009 16:29

Yeah I think that they ceased trading and brought in the administrators who have now reopened to try and recoup their losses.

theboob · 16/02/2009 16:32

yeah bubble soooo good to see you from the TTC threads

i have been checking on you for a while now and thought you were having a very long cycle again.........congratulations

theboob · 16/02/2009 16:34

ahhhh smallone that explains it,i dont trust internet sites in states like this,is such a shame though

altagloria · 16/02/2009 17:13

Hmm.

Because of my no sickness thing I went and got another test. I got three positives on Clearblue tests last weekend so just went for a cheaper Predictor this time.

It came up positive after a few minutes but wasn't as dark as the test window line. It wasn't really faint but just wasn't instant and dark like I thought it should be!

Is this a cause for concern? I am 6+1 (not 6+2, typo in above post).

Congratulations on your BFP bubblebell!

smallone · 16/02/2009 17:15

Chuckles I had a home visit for my booking in with dd. I reckon its to compare the state of your home now, with the state after baby is born, so they can assess how you're doing. An excuse to make the place a complete tip if you ask me! Also they can see if its suitable for a home birth if thats what you want. Either that or they're just nosey!

bubblebell1 · 16/02/2009 17:19

thanks everyone!! still cant believe it.

the test i did with a fms is positive and the tests ive done since are neg DR said that im pregnant and has refered me for antenatal care.but im still worried sick that its not a real BFP?? did any of you have this problem?

smallone · 16/02/2009 17:21

altagloria sorry for your worry! I don't think you can compare tests really coz they all have fractionally different ink levels/sensitivities so even two of the same brand, could look different. Have a look at poas.com they might have an image of a pos predictor on there that will put you at ease.

With dd I didn't test til late coz I wasn't expecting to be pg and my symptoms didn't start until 6 weeks, so I wouldn't worry too much, you'll prob be cursing ms in two weeks time!
