Here goes-I got a BFP on DPO 11 which makes me due 1st October. Was going to avoid the antenatal thread until I was completely sure but have already done 3 tests and am still not convinced. Come on and join in the worry fun.

theboob · 05/02/2009 15:49

ChucklesMcMummy · 05/02/2009 16:30

Forgot to add that I've been married for a month and a half...honeymoon baby!!!

babyinacorner · 05/02/2009 16:54

Lizzie - sorry to hear your news, will be thinking of you x

I went to the docs this morning and have been referred to the early pregnancy centre tmrw morning for a scan to check what's going on. fingers crossed all is ok. Still having period type pains, doe anybody else?

ChucklesMcMummy · 05/02/2009 17:03

babyinacorner - I was having pains until this morning but seem to have found a way of solving that one. (see earlier message)Good luck at Doc's tomorrow.

In a moment of clarity for my fuzzy brain, I came up with a great idea for remembering my vitamins. I'm taking the sort that come in blister packs so used a pen that you write on CD's with to write the dates on the packet. Quite pleased with that idea as I was going to by one of those boxes with the days of the week sections but now I won't need to, hopefully!

Everone having a good day? xxx

BellaCullen · 05/02/2009 17:23

Lizzie so sorry about your news big hugs and thinking about you .Hope you`ll get some answers soon.

Im 25 and been with DP 10 years and hopefully get married soon was supposed to be next year but would like to soon now before baby comes.Im a childminder and have ds,7years and dd 3 years in March.

Feeling sick most of day now but hard boiled sweets seem to help and managed some cake.Cramps mostly gone now.
Pregnancies definitely different with boy and girl.DS no sickness or anything else with DD every sympton in book and MS till 16 weeks and really bad SPD which never really stopped.

apushchairq · 05/02/2009 17:45

I get crampy up until about 7-8 weeks with each baby, don't worry

The smell of meat is horrible!

This baby is a 1st wedding anniversary baby

HumphreysCorner · 05/02/2009 18:26

I haven't been very crampy this time, well so far anyway. Had terrible SPD with DD2 but was 4 stone heavier then. Starting off thinner this time so hopefully people might be able to tell I'm PG this time and not be shocked when I turn up with a new baby.

Attempting a pasta bake for tea as haven't been sick today, just feel it. Hope my symptoms aren't going.

Dilemma - friend that I see v rarely texted this afternoon to say she would be in London this evening (she lives and works in Manchester, so don't get to see her v often). She's meeting another friend too in a bar - how do I get round the not drinking bit (usually I drink like a fish )?

HumphreysCorner · 05/02/2009 18:47

Can you drive? Or get the drinks in first so you can get a tonic and pretend it has gin or vodka in it then when they offer to buy one you can have a soft drink as you will only have one drink if you are driving. I feel so rough I couldn't even attempt a night in a bar.

Hey, that's a great idea HC, I'd looked at other people's comments earlier on the thread, but they didn't look as if they'd work. I could get away with 'I'm only having the one' cos I've got to be back in the office at 8 tomorrow....

I had terrible ms with DD, I'm trying not to think about why I haven't got it yet this time... As others have said, each PG is different, but it would be nice to have some symptoms, other than memory loss. On the plus side, I guess it is nice that I can meet up w my friend (not seen her for 6 mths!!)

Have a great time!

Hello girls

Lizzie i am so sorry about your news,my thoughts are with you at this crappy time

Have boobs like Dolly Parton today - people pay good money for these!!

About me - 38 married for 13 years, DD9 and DS6 had a MC a couple of years ago, been trying for 2 years but had given up! This is a big surprise...

Used to be a bean counter too but DH and I now run our own business from home

I wish that i could go to sleep and wake up again in 7 weeks time..

patmum · 06/02/2009 06:55

most nights I just wish I could have 7 hours let alone 7 weeks! DS is not good at the whole sleeping thing!

It doesn't help that I have a stinking cold that's lasted for more than two weeks. I could kill for some Sudafed. Does anyone know any pregnancy friendly cold remedies? My head feels like it's going to burst.

idreamofbeanie · 06/02/2009 08:33

I went out to a work quiz last night - I was home by 10 so should be fine but ate my dinner very early before going and felt a bit queasy when I got back and probably should have had some toast (have found I feel sick if I am hungry) but just went to bed. Had to get up to be sick at midnight, 2am, 4am and 6am. Feel and look like death warmed up this morning, no energy and just want to sit and cry. How on earth will I cope with a baby?

idreamofbeanie · 06/02/2009 08:37

Sorry patmum - totally ignored you there. Not sure about the cold rememdies but I hope someone can help and you feel better soon. After 2 weeks it must be driving you mad.

sammysam · 06/02/2009 09:26

I am so so sorry Lizzie-I really hope you can et some answers and some good luck very soon I really don't know what else to say.....I just really am so sorry for you

thefunkypea · 06/02/2009 09:26

idreamofbeanie - don't fret . The ms (morning, night, all day sickness.....) will pass, hopefully should start feeling better around 13/14 weeks (not long to go then eh?!). Lack of sleep is a killer. I can't function at all when I'm tired so I do understand how you feel. I read a brilliant comment on mn from someone describing the lack of sleep when the baby arrives - 'you're meant to be tired, so you're forced to take time doing everything slowly and carefully and with thought'. I thought that was a nice positive spin on things.

sammysam · 06/02/2009 09:32

Patmum-I have just (almost) got rid of a cold I've had for 5 weeks-longest and worst I've ever had I can't really help as I've taken nothing for it at all-just suffered! I hope you feel better soon

I've gone from feeling sick all the time to feeling sick all the time (except for feeling ok yesterday morning and really shitting myself about it!!!) with bouts/waves of real stong sickness-but have not yet been sick-i really fight it as I HATE being sick)
I'm so paranoid......I just want the next few weeks to fly by [hopeful emoticon] and to get great news at the scan........

apushchairq · 06/02/2009 09:58

idreamofbeanie - it's a totally different tiredness, plus if you are planning on bf it really is quite easy to feed lying down; you will wake up in the morning not remembering it very much at all! You will cope of course you will, the early part of pg is miserable really.

I am still BF dc3 who is 9 months...makes my tummy cramp a bit but GP said that was ok. I normally get sleep very well but the last couple of nights dc3 has been waking at 10pm, just as i have dozed off, and feeding makes me feel queasy at that time of night - weird.

DH is going away next weekend, so will see how i cope!

sunnyM · 06/02/2009 11:01

hi
new to posting but not new to mumsnet. lurked round during my 1st pregnancy.
anyway not confirmed yet but I am +ve I'm pregnant but haven't tested yet. once confirmed will give my details...

Lizzie9442. I'm sorry to hear about the bleeding. I went through it and know how upsetting it. its hard but with suport from people around it eases somewhat.

Treats · 06/02/2009 12:13

Hi everyone. Missed you all yesterday and have a lot of catching up to do......

About me - I'm 32 and this is my first baby. Been with DH for over 10 years, married for 6 - it took us a long time to get round to it! I work in a small internet marketing company as Project/ Ops Manager and am training to be a bean counter! DH is working on a major construction project in the East of London that's due to open in three and a half years (any guesses?)

Feeling really lightheaded at the moment, but still no sickness. Bbs are still v. big and painful. did anyone see 'the world's most enhanced woman' the other night? I can sort of imagine how some of those women feel, actually........

Off to see my parents and ILs this weekend to break the news. Slightly overshadowed by the fact that my brother was burgled last night so they'll be worrying about that.

lizzie - it feels a bit overkill when everyone's already said it, but I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you get the help you need and take care of yourself.

lixanismapolium · 06/02/2009 12:23

Patmum - you can try the old lemon and honey remedy. Squeeze half a lemon into a mug, add hot water and honey to taste. Works wonders. And if you're not keen on lemon, orange juice works almost as well.

Give it a go and hope you feel better soon!
