Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
chilledmama · 24/01/2009 08:26

morning all. congratulations Dinkymum

Sorry can't catch up at moment as parents are here so everything is a bit manic.

Scan on Thursday went well but confirmed breech...I knew she was

After some persuasive (wouldn't back down) conversations. They have agreed to do ECV next wed, 36+3. Fingers crossed it bloody works cause it would really make my life much easier!

McDreamy · 24/01/2009 08:47

Aw ooogs lovely photos.

COngratulations Dinkymum and welcome Issac - lovely name! I am 36 weeks and 2 days today - wonder if the same will happen for me!

idontbelieveit · 24/01/2009 09:03

Morning all.
Hey CM good luck with the ECV, mine wasn't bad even though it didn't work. She tried to turn her for 25mins before giving up it was uncomfortable but not excruciating so i was quite relieved after what i'd read about it being really painful. Seems quite early for an ECV as there will be lots of time for baby to turn back before you're term though?

swampster · 24/01/2009 09:54

Spotty, I was permanently connected to my TENS for a good week before DS2 was born. (He was two weeks late though). It was lovely. If it works for you (and it doesn't for everyone) you really realise how effective it is when you have to take it off for any reason.

dinkymum · 24/01/2009 09:54

Hi thanks for all the messages for Isaac! still havent had time to catch up! but cingratulations to Ooogs! all very exciting now they're starting to arrive!

My due date was 14th Feb I think it got knocked off the list maybe.

hopefully be back soon and will post birth story!

KT1983 · 24/01/2009 10:00

Morning ladies,

Congratulations DinkyMum - Looking forward to seeing some pics & hearing your birth story.

Ooogs - Lovely pictures

Still no sign of a baby coming any day soon in this house - She is well & truly in there for the duration - I went for a jog this morning, hoping that the bouncing about would perhaps get her going - but I just got home to a hours worth of kicking in the ribs instead.

Is it true that babies go really quiet on the movement side before you go into Labour? Because this little one, has absolutly no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Pempe · 24/01/2009 10:25

Congratulations dinky, and also on the lovely lovely name. You were due the same day as me, so I've had a word with my bump now to move things along a bit

Oooggs - really beautiful photos

KT - jogging?!?!?! Are you crazy?

I am having my first ever pedicure today, momentous occasion. I can't reach my toes, no matter what position I contort myself into, so thought I'd treat myself. Thank god they do home visits, it's so cold and miserable here going out would have interrupted my hibernation plans.

Hope everyone is ok today?

McDreamy · 24/01/2009 10:27

DH has taken the children to his mum's for the day so I have a lazy day infront of the telly with a box of tissues planned. I might even get dressed later

KT jogging I am very impressed! I get short of breath going upstairs!

Hope everyone has a lovely day

idontbelieveit · 24/01/2009 10:51

KT a jog oh my f*cking god you mad woman! The nearest i've got to a jog in the last 2 months is waddling after dd when she tries to do a runner in the supermarket. You must be like superwoamn!

MarkStretch · 24/01/2009 11:03

Morning all

Congrats to Dinkymum! Yay another baby!

No developments here, tightenings had gone by bed last night and only a couple this morning.

DD's Dad is over from Ireland so the two of them have gone out for the day and not expected back until tonight. DH has finished nights - hooray! So I am going to wake him up with a cup of tea in a litle while.

The question is do I try and start things off again today with the aid of DH?!?!

PinkTulips · 24/01/2009 11:43

well done dinkymum... love the name, it was on our shortlist too

i think i did damage yesterday had to back dd's cake and finish making her bike and put up decorations last night and by the time i sat down at 10.30 i was actually in tears. couldn't sleep most of the night as i was in agony so if the theory is right about stress holding off labour it might be a while before kung fu panda moves out!

MS and LBB.... when dp and i did the deed last week his contribution to finding a workable position was to ask me did i want a pillow under my bum have no idea what he thought that would achieve but he seemed convinced it would help in some way!

sorry the tightenings eased of MS, it's so fecking frustrating isn't it? after having this nonsense with the other 2 i waas really hoping this time i'd just go into labour like a normal person and have the baby a few hours after the first contraction... fat chance

PinkTulips · 24/01/2009 11:45

that's great about dd's dad being over MS... did things get sorted on that front after the upset at christmas? she must be delighted to have him over.

PinkTulips · 24/01/2009 11:46

cumin tea MS.... you can drink up to a mug an hour, and nipple twiddle like mad.... you could alway use dh for that bit

littleboyblue · 24/01/2009 11:46

MS I'm going to! he's asked me to get him up in time for the footie, but waking him in a bit so we can have another go at dislodging this one!
I had 'that' backache all night last night so again hoping it won't be too much longer but still have 2 weeks and 3 days til DDay.

I'm not sure whether to be overly concerned or not, but there is hardly any movement...... His heart beat still sounds pretty strong so he must be ok, but the only feeling I'm getting in bump is tight and sore, really feels like I might explode.

KT You are a mad woman!! Jogging! What a loon

McDreamy Very of your day ahead. I'm quite tempted to ring my dad to see when he wants ds overnight

laidbackinengland · 24/01/2009 12:04

Morning all,

Congrats Dinkymum and Lovely pictures Oooggs. Two lovely boys to add to the thread !

No baby here. Now 40 +1 . Feel a bit shaky today - but BP is OK and I think I probably just need to relax. Bedroom action does not seem to be speeding up this babies arrival...Maybe a hot curry tonight ?

Have a good Saturday everyone !

chilledmama · 24/01/2009 12:09

idontbelieveit-you are kind of right but as always its a bit more complicated.
DS came out at 38 weeks and his toes were curled up cause he'd run out of room.
The original date they wanted me to come in was 11Feb while saying to me that it wouldn't be dome any earlier than 37 weeks. 37 weeks is the 1st of Feb not 11th so wasn't happy about that! Then it turned out that reason for appointment dates was becaues they only do a clinic every 2 weeks! Consultant agreed, given circumstances, that it would be better to take risk of baby turning back again than leaving it till after DS was born because chances of moving bub then would be close to none.

idontbelieveit · 24/01/2009 12:26

CM Mine was just done in the day unit. Rubbish that you have to wait for a clinic. What are the success rates for the hospital? Bet they're lower if they only do it every 2 weeks. I think if they manage to turn bubs then the chances of them turning back are low even at 36 weeks. Hope it goes ok.

MS how disappointing, get back to the bedroom at once!. Think me and dh might have to give it a go tonight as will be last chance for a while i guess.

MarkStretch · 24/01/2009 12:29

So everyone on the board is getting jiggy with it today?!

Pink- she stayed with me all of Christmas in the end and he flew over last night and is staying locally for the weekend. She was very pleased to see him, and he brought a massive bag of Christmas presents over for her. They are going to a museum, lunch, cinema and then for some chinese food. She was up at 6.30am hopping up and down at the window waiting for him to arrive

mumoverseas · 24/01/2009 12:33

afternoon, all been trying to get on here all day but the bloody internet has only just started working. Its soooo crap out here.

Congratulations dinkymum, so exciting to see another baby.

MS, you do really make me giggle. Some of your posts are so funny 'fucksticks'???? is that a Norfolk saying?

IDBI, sorry you are having problems with your DD but in a very selfish way, I'm glad to hear it and know its not just me. I'm quite embarrased that DD (aged 2.3) is still keen on the 'eat all you can buffet' and wouldn't admit it to anyone in real life. I've been trying to get her off for ages. First 12 months, then 18, aged 2 etc etc. Got it down to just before an afternoon nap now and bedtime but its soooo painful and it worries me what will happen when LO comes along. She is not good at sharing. I keep trying to explain that babies need boobies and little girls don't but she won't have it. Also, I don't feel as if there is anything much in there anymore. Hope more comes in when LO arrives.

Well done to all of you that can even think about a bit of 'hows your father/rumpy pumpy' just the thought makes me want to faint. I struggle getting my thighs apart to climb the stairs let alone that

McDreamy · 24/01/2009 12:35

DH coming home tonight minus the children so might suggest some jiggyness with him - oh how his little face will light up

Who's next then?

PinkTulips · 24/01/2009 12:41

mos... it's not good sex, it's starfish sex but the poor man is so desperate he doesn't complain

Pempe · 24/01/2009 12:53

starfish sex?! am i naive? what is that?
my DH is refusing all forms , he's being very caring, and has just suggested a 'nice gentle walk instead'.

PinkTulips · 24/01/2009 12:57

lol... i used to live with lads in a shared house and was considered one of the lads so was privy to lots of lads conversations. that's how they described it when they had sex with someone who just lay there and didn't participate at all.... starfish

idontbelieveit · 24/01/2009 13:05

MOS i'm quite happy for her to carry on really but not to be attacked if we don't do it her way! I made a decision early on in pregnancy that i would leave things up to her and she's so contrary at the moment that if i suggested she stops that would just make her want it more. My milk has come in in the last 2 weeks there's suddenly swallowing going on when there wasn't for months! It's less painful now i've got milk as well. At least we shouldn't get engorgement problems.
You shouldn't be embarrased, it's totally normal for them still to be feeding at this age and very unusual for a child to self wean before the age of 2. I'm hoping perhaps naively that it will help dd and new dd to bond.

MS time to get out the Barry White backing tracks i think!

idontbelieveit · 24/01/2009 13:07

lol at starfish sex PT
