Many congrats hkz, sounds amazing we'll need to hear all about it!!!
Have had an odd day, dd has cried all day with pale face and red eyes and is full of cold.
Went for consultant review. She was good, and read my worried mind. Infact took one look at bump and asked when I would like induction. We agree this bubbs is in a dreadful position and she was as 'put off' as I have been that despite my body trying to labour about 3 nights out of 4 for last 2 weeks nothing has developed. And I've had contractions I could palpate nad time and that really should have kicked off labour with my favourable cervix in my opinion. And no labour Despite 3 BIG stretch and sweeps in the middle of the niggly periods. She examined me [oooooow!] and said the head is low but very badly applied and she feels it's going to take the biggie contractions to move her into a better postion. I read between the lines there and I think she means Syntocinon in other words. She is happy to induce me anytime as she feels it's going to be this way so there isn't much to gain in waiting. So sort of 'a well travelled road, when you want to start your joourney!!'
After much deliberation am going for my waters breaking tomorrow. Spoke to my active birthing teacher chum and even she felt that I am looking at a need for medical intervention at some point and so that point may as well be now as the cervix has done all it can without labour. She said may as well crack to the labour whip when the fluid levels and the placenta are still tip top and I'm not tooooooo desperate!
So last night of pregnancy freedom for me. Feel sick, terrified and utterly selfish for leaving dd when she is under the weather. But truly I know I'll still be here in 2 weeks, this kid is so low and in such a duff position, this is exactly how dd was too so I was ready for it. Also feel better to have a completely non interventionist mw and a consultant agreeing with each other, and confirming all my own niggly worries if that makes sense?
So staff and workload permitting I'l be going in tomorrow sometime when is good for them. Blimey!
