Tell your DH he can put that ice cream down right now unless he can prove that he has a fat, somersaulting baby playing havoc with his insides

& I know! I'm helping with the washing up he has to do

Is there any more of that milk to go around, Boffin? [hopeful]

BabyBolat · 17/01/2009 21:38

So how overdue were you with DD nutty?

BoffinMum · 17/01/2009 21:39

I am due 2 April or 7 April depending on whether you are threatening me with an induction or a Government department wishing to give me money.

Other babies were -10, +5 and +18.

SpringySunshine · 17/01/2009 21:41

Haha, I love the flexible dating.

I've heard bad things about inductions (tearing being my main worry ) but I just couldn't be one of those women who waits 3 weeks past her due date until she goes naturally. Here's hoping that he's not too late.

BabyBolat · 17/01/2009 21:41

+18 are you kidding - is that even allowed???!!!

I would be climbing the walls!!

Well I think I need to have a word with my mw because she will not like me after after my due date. I am not patient at the very best of times but after 40 weeks of waiting I will not be a nice person!!

I would love this LO to come a week early - would be fab (not only would I get to finish work a week early but he waiting would stop).

BoffinMum · 17/01/2009 21:47

I had to have an extra scan at about +11 and a quick appointment with the consultant to check there was enough amniotic fluid. It all looked fine so he just said to carry on until I get fed up.

SpringySunshine · 17/01/2009 21:47

Come 37 weeks I'm going to try everything. I'm going to be stocking up on raspberry leaf tea in advance. Asides from anything else, if he comes on time my mum has a couple of weeks off work - if he's late, she won't be able to visit unless it's a weekend.

Also, how do I phrase it to DP that I'll want to see my family soon afterwards, but not his?

BabyBolat · 17/01/2009 21:51

oooh don't know, I have told DH I don't want anyone around too much for the first few days as I want to get used to the baby before I get inundated with visitors!

BabyBolat · 17/01/2009 21:53

Oh no I'd be having none of that boffin, I would refuse to get off that bed until that baby was out!!!

I was really worried it would hurt more if they induced me, so I wanted to let nature do its work.

SpringySunshine · 17/01/2009 21:54

I feel the same - but I know that my family will stay away until I phone & then they'll drop everything (as much as possible) to come & visit. His family will want structured plans. & quite possibly expect us to do the 3 hour car journey up to visit them to save them the trouble. Obviously it's unreasonable, but I think I'm the only one to think so...

BoffinMum · 17/01/2009 21:54

I am a big coward really.

BoffinMum · 17/01/2009 21:55

I don't want anyone around. Last time they just all told me I was looking swollen and fat.

BabyBolat · 17/01/2009 21:56

ohh crying works! I might feel differently once the baby is born but actually at the moment I can't imagine wanting to see anyone straight after the baby comes.

BabyBolat · 17/01/2009 21:57

Boffin they did not??? really I would tell them that until they could work out how to have polite conversation they caould stay away from me and my baby!!!

Springy that is ridiculous! don't you dare go anywhere - just stay at home and let them come to you!

SpringySunshine · 17/01/2009 21:57

Boffin! They didn't?! Bloody cheek!

SpringySunshine · 17/01/2009 21:58

Oh, I'm not going anywhere. I don't really want them all in our little flat either, but I think I'm going to have to compromise somewhere

well if they like structure maybe you could implement visiting hours in your flat and ask them to stick to that under the guise that you want to get the baby into a routine!!

Then you can keep visits down to 2 hour slots!!!
