idontbelieveit · 20/01/2009 08:07

i have a few million from nigerian banks myself.
Pempe have you got a CS booked as well?

Pempe · 20/01/2009 08:15

IDBI I have an appointment next Monday (B-day for you?) with my gyno to find out when they will perform the CS.

littleboyblue · 20/01/2009 08:18

Oooggs OMG!!!! How exciting, do we have another baby? Or are close? Hope you're ok. Good luck

MOS YANBU Hope your (D)H sorts it out soon and you feel a bit better.

Spotty Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to spotty, happy birthday to you.

I'm 37 weeks today!!!!! Getting dressed in a bit to go to shops, how many pineapples shall I buy?
have to call the gas board today, we moved in 6 months ago and got our first gas bill yesterday. Guess how much it was for, go on, guess.
£25.49. That is from July 10th to Jan 7th and is the standing charge. The bill says we have used 0 units of whatever it is in 6 months not really sure what to do about it. Dp told me to leave it, they know we're here so their problem if they don't charge us for gas, but I think it's not worth burying head in sand like that and it'll only come to bit us on the arse when we owe hundreds and can't afford to pay it. I'm right aren't I? And we haven't had a water bill we let everyone know when we moved in and have received and payed the initial standing charges......wierd

LittleMissNorty · 20/01/2009 08:23

Pempe.....a millionaire

Ooogs....good luck....although I hope its all over for you now x

MOS - YANBU....I would be VERY pissed off about that one....men can be SO selfish. Hope he sorts it out for you very soon. Agree with Spotty, you must be very tolerant living with rules like those....are the rules not relaxed within your compound?

Also beginning to crap myself about having an epidural "cold" so to speak....although I can't wait for the baby to be here.....I'm pretty sure I'll get more bloody sleep than I am now (famous last words!)

Baby is moving a lot less now as well....my bump hasn't got anywhere to drop to this time....I've carried very low compared to when I was pg with DD

I need to get out of the house today....for DDs sake as much as mine, but its wet and cold and I don't need anything and I can't walk very far or chase after DD ....I don't know what to do.

Glad the meet-up was good.....did anyone take any pics?

littleboyblue · 20/01/2009 08:26

LMN I'm taking ds out later if it's not raining. The plan is to take him to the park - the concrete bit where there aren't any swings/slides or anything he can climb on, and taking a pot of bubbles or something so he can run around a bit and I can sit down.
Although I feel like complete shit, so might just do it in our livingroom.....

LittleMissNorty · 20/01/2009 08:28

Morning LBB - I wouldn't be able to ignore a gas bill like that either....it'll come back and bite you in the arse otherwise.....you'll probably spend hours going round in circles with a stupid person on the other end of the phone who will promise to do something, and then won't!!

Do you have a meter reading from when you moved in? And now?

LittleMissNorty · 20/01/2009 08:29

Hard isn't it....but I stayed in all day yesterday.....this is supposed to be our last few days of just the 2 of us, and I can't be bothered!

littleboyblue · 20/01/2009 08:37

I don't know where the gas meter is and no-one has been to read it. It's so difficult to get himself to do anything not really capable of climbing in to the back of trhe cupboards or standing on chairs to check behind things either...
The other thing is that when we get our bill for the service charge we pay on the building, there are payments for communal lighting (so stairwell and corridors, fine) then for communal water (wtf is that? There aren't any random taps anywhere inside or outside, no 'public' bathroom) and also for communal gas (but what's that for? The heaters in corridors are electric) well confused. They can't be pooling everyones usage together and making us pay an average, can they?

Know what you mean about trying to enjoy the last days with them. I've been trying a bit harder with ds, but I'm finding the harder I try to do something special just the 2 of us, the more he does something to annoy/upset me and then I get ump and feel guilty. Awful isn't it? Think we're quite lucky that our lo's are too young to remember any of this

LittleMissNorty · 20/01/2009 08:40

That's what friends are saying to me....she's too young to worry....but I do feel guilty.....atm she's watching postman pat and here I am on MN

Will go out today...even if its a slow walk to the postbox to post a friends card....she'll have to go in the buggy though, I need it to lean on!

Sounds a bit odd re gas and water.....I'd need to know what was going on there. Are you gas meters outside? Most are these days I think.

littleboyblue · 20/01/2009 08:46

That's what's happening here, ds in front of telly (ish) whilst also trying to climb over his bigger toys that live in sitting room and I'm playing solitaire on computer because I can't be arsed to get us dressed. I also need pushchair to lean on these days! Sometimes I think it'd be easier if ds was older and I could explain to him that I just needed to sleep, but then on the other hand he and your dd will be fine, a few months of being infront of telly constantly won't do any major harm I don't think. I know I feel guilty too, but there's really not much to do about it at mo. Once baby is here and everything settles down hopefully it'll get easier

I can't chase up about service charges myself because the HA won't discuss anything financial with me as everything is in dp's name, he needs to call them and give his permission that I can take control of these things but he can't even find the time to do that

laidbackinengland · 20/01/2009 08:47

LBB, the gas meters these days are often in white boxes aoutside properties or in communal hallways. You need a special triangular shaped key to open them to do a reading (which if you are renting, your agent will have.) You a right not to bury your head !! I switched my gas provider last July for gas and electricity - I have not yet had an electricity bill, despite me chasing them ... and am £625 in credit on my gas account!!!! I aim to get that money back in the next few weeks, and put it to my yet, unseen, electricity bill. Oh joy !!

dinkystinky · 20/01/2009 08:48

Morning all. Oooggs - exciting news! Am sure Spotty is haunting the April 07 thread so will let us know as soon as they have news - hope all is going beautifully smoothly for you! Pink - any news hon?

MoS - you're not being unreasonable, you're in a lot of pain and having use of a driver would make your life immeasurably better. I agree with Spotty - your DH IS just being a man though. Is there any one on the compound who could translate the letter for you (that way you dont need to rely on/chase DH to do it)? Hope the row last night managed to make your DH realise how much the use of a driver would mean to you.

LBB - you're right; DEFINITELY call up the gas board with the readings (the one when you moved in and the current one to query what has happened with the bill) as otherwise you'll get stung with one for hundreds of pounds just when you really dont need it!I'd also chase up the water people if I were you (we have a smallish standing order to pay off our water bill each month) as if you've been there for more than 4 months you should have had a quarterly bill by now...

KT1983 · 20/01/2009 08:49

Morning,

Any news on Ooogs yet? Hope all is going well xxx
I am jealous! I want to have my baby

Im only 37 weeks but beginning to feel impatient. Im urging every little twinge & ache. I think ive said it before but I am a little bit of those of you having an elective CS - It must be nice knowing when baby will be with you.

Im on a mission today to get ll my messages done - Shopping wise. Need to get last few bits for hospital bag. Then tonight me & DP are going to an AnteNatal class at the hospital - quite nervous about what to expect actually.
Are they really all about sitting around in circles being shown the process of Birth?? I think it might make me a bit too nervous! go knows what Dp will make of it

littleboyblue · 20/01/2009 08:54

laidback There are white cupboards in the corridor but don't have a key, have tried all of them we were given, the estate agent (shared ownership) says we were given everything they were given and again the HA won't take requests from me, will have to send them a letter in dp's name.

Will give them a call later, left myself a note on the fridge door so I don't forget. I've just got to remember to feed us at some point!

laidbackinengland · 20/01/2009 08:56

The gas company might be able to send you a little key or a neighbour might have one you could borrow, they are just little plastic things and as far as I know, one size fits all !

mumoverseas · 20/01/2009 08:57

hello all, am back and happier just got back from hospital appointment and hearing LO's heartbeat always cheers me up. DH was very nice too and had a bit of a chat (on way back, I sulked all the way there) I suddenly had a craving for a KFC but none nearby so he stoped at a Burger King. I threw a little bit of a wobbly (spotty, this will make your blood boil) as the nasty little man serving wouldn't let me in as 'no ladies' section. At bloody 11am it was empty but still not allowed in. I therefore had to walk to the 'drive through' bit (surprised I was allowed there as I can't f*ing drive) and order there and then DH drove us home and we ate here. I lost my rag with the silly little man (serving, not DH) and shouted at him that I was good enough to pay for the sodding food but not go in their premises! Felt much better getting that off my chest!

Am very tempted to go on strike but sadly as someone else does his washing and ironing he wouldn't notice that so its just the cooking and knowing him, he'd just order takeaway (he can obviously go to Burger king whenever he wants being a member of the elite sex!)

Spotty, happy birthday, hadn't picked up on that one before

LBB, agree with LMN, get the gas bill sorted NOW, don't put it off. I had this a few years ago ref gas bill, despite me giving them actual readings for 18 months they kept ignoring them and doing estimated ones and when they finally decided to use the right reading they sent me a bill for around £800. Arses.

LMN, I sypmathise (sp?) with you ref not being able to get out with DD and feeling guilty if I don't (although not cold and wet here). Yesterday was the one morning where we had nothing on til lunchtime when she had a swimming lesson so I took her to our local coffee shop on compound and she was a little monkey. She kept running away and she knows I can't catch her. Not long now though, only 19 days for me and a lot less for most of you.

littleboyblue · 20/01/2009 09:05

MoS shocking. Glad you're feeling a bit better though, always does help being able to shout at a silly lttle man doesn't it?

The key for the cupboard are those long cylinder grooved ones, but yes will ask neigbour as they are all the same (didn't think of that - mush for a brain).
Off to sit on the washing machine. Will check in later

LittleMissNorty · 20/01/2009 09:06

Happy birthday Spotty

LBB - your bill will have a meter reference number on it so you can identify your meter...and see if you can borrow a key from the neighbour. Your DP needs to get onto it and give permission for you to get that sorted....and HA should make it clear about communal charges....my guess is, is that if a water main went between the main road and your flats (are you in a flat), you would ALL be expected to pay your bit.

MOS....you must be a very tolerant person..."no ladies" . Glad hospital appointment went well. 13 days for me

Luckily, we are still sending DD to nursery 1 day a week (and that's tomorrow), and her cousin is coming to play on Thursday...I will go out after lunch though....will try and get my head down at the same time as her this morning and that might help. The longest stretch of sleep last night was 3.30am - 5.30am

KT1983 · 20/01/2009 09:11

MoS I would be fuming too - Thats crazy!! At least you got your craving fix ( well almost )

LBB We have had countless problems with our gas bill...They underestimated our last one - Said it was about £50 and was actually £170 - So its worth getting it sorted.

Is anyone else on the Raspberry leaf tea? How many cups are you supposed to drink a day?
Im just using the teabags & having 3 or 4 cups a day - Beginning to quite like the taste.

MamaGoose · 20/01/2009 09:21

Morning all,

oooggs good luck. Wow!

mumoverseas hats off to you for keeping cool for this long! You are definitely not being unreasonable. That would have driven me insane especially as it's such a personal infringement on your libery. I have had a few occasions here with DH because he can speak fluent Spanish and I can't but nothing quite on your scale! I also don't know how you put up with the inequality - you are a stronger woman than I. I refused to move to countries where I had to a) cover up or b) have a bodyguard.

Pempe lucky you . However did those clever banks track you down? Are you tempted to immediately send them all your personal banking details and some money so they can transfer the millions to you?

My mother arrives today to help with the boys. Not sure if this is going to be a blessing or a curse. It may result in DP "working late" a lot. But we do need some help and she is a good granny. I may be moaning a bit in the next few days....

idontbelieveit · 20/01/2009 09:33

LBB, LMN, i too am trying to enjoy my last week with dd. Got all weepy and sentimental earlier but am also feeling too knackered and nauseous to do much. Have an excuse today as waiting for a mattress to be delivered for dd's new bed but the weather looks cold but sunny so we should get out later really.

MoS - i just couldn't cope living in S A i don't know how you do it.

Pempe - getting a date is exciting but also very scary....least i can start to plan stuff now.

LBB congrats on making the 37 week mark. I have 2 pineapples here that i'm scared to use lol, i shall send them over.

Morning everyone else

McDreamy · 20/01/2009 09:41

Morning all!

oogs - have we got baby no 2? ow exciting !!!!!!

Feeling really strange knowing when this little one is going to arrive - really can start the countdown - 3 weeks today

Happy Birthday Spotty! Hope you have a good day!

Nothing much planned for today except to ty and get the nursery finished!

idontbelieveit · 20/01/2009 09:46

Happy birthday Spotty!

rosieposey · 20/01/2009 09:49

Morning

Happy birthday Spotty!
MOS read your posts with dispair ... you are a better woman than i, really couldnt stomach that kind of inequality, poor you
LLB i had an outrageous gas bill as they undercharged us for 6 months, it was a very nasty shock im afraid so you really should get that meter read - give them a call and get someone out.
OOOGGS is having a baby! thats so exciting! Am very of you IDBI as you literally have just days to go now you lucky thing and you will be holding your newborn 17 days for me ... i really just want it over with.
Not sure if its these BP tablets but i have never felt so tired in all my days i slept yesterday afternoon for 5 hours which just isnt right, i have woken up this morning feeling shite and groggy too. Luckily no headaches although feel a bit sick on occasion MS you were right about the dry mouth as well but its the tiredness i am really struggling with, hope it goes away eventually as i feel like this i am going to struggle
Poor DD3 spent all last night dosed up on paracetamol and anti bi's but again didnt sleep too well, have tucked her up in front of some rubbish on the tv in her bedroom and think ill be heading for the land of nod in an hour or so again god i need some oommph!

MrsY · 20/01/2009 09:54

Oh - how exciting ooogs another fab febber!

KT - at our antenatal class we introduced ourselves and then talked about what we wanted to talk about, and that's it really. No sitting in a circle on the floor doing breathing exercises (which is what I wanted!) I'm doing raspberry leaf tea. Think I'm having three or four mugs a day! I got some Expectancy Tea for Christmas and it's got mint in as well, so tastes yummy!

MOS - hope the Burger King cheered you up! Sorry that SA life is getting you down, hope DH has pulled his finger out...

Was lovely to meet up with people yesterday - nice to put faces to names - Swampy, I agree, Catstar is very feline! Congratulations on such well behaved little ones - I was very impressed, especially given the time of day and restrictions on high chairs etc!
