Pempe Men, hey?
Laughing at the bra thing, imagine trying to feed in public with a kinky peep-hole bra!

O&U I may lose my pride, my perky boobs, the ability to walk with my legs closed, but never my sense of humour or the ability to laugh (she says now)

Calico The 2 spare widget things, I think, are the tube tops for the bit where the double attachment goes on, you know when you have the 2nd seat on the back or the front? The extra 2 bits go into the end of the frame on the side you're not using iyswim, but probably not, reading that I don't know what I mean....

justme We used a travel cot at my parents house whenever we stayed when ds was 'new', we just used it with the hard 'mattress' it came with as was only for a night or 2 at a time. I'm sure the travel cot will be fine for your lo. As for the smoking, my whole family are smokers (including myself) and like what your parents will do, they/we either pop outside or keep it to one room with windows open and ds banned. I understand your worry about it being their house and how you'd feel awkward asking them not to smoke even if you are out, but remember your baby will be their grandchild, they will not do anything to jepordise his health/safety whether you mention it or not I should imagine, and if you do ask them to refrain from smoking around baby's things or in certain rooms, even in his/her absence, they will probabl be very understanding to your concerns, it is only 2 weeks.

MS I still find it hard to imagine there's a person with a willy inside me!

I am tired all of the time again. I slept really well last night and even had a lay-in but just feel completely shattered!

Thankfully, dp is feeling better and is going back to work tonight, don't envy him in this rain!

PinkTulips · 17/01/2009 21:35

snort at swampy's bra.... surely a vest top with a support band would be cheaper and about as effective?

onward... we're huge fans of TBBT here as well, it's got to be the funniest sit com to come out in years..... i think series 2 has started already, although we've been missing most of it so will have to download it i think.

justme.... i'd go for the moses basket over the travel cot tbh... leaning in and out of a travel cot to pick the baby up constantly will drive you mad, you'll want to get every second of use out of the moses basket you can as they really do grow out of these things so quickly, and you can let lo fall asleep in it downstairs and carry it up when you go to bed rather than having to run upstairs and sit in the dark on your own to feed every 20 mins all evening.... do not underestimate how much easier it is to deal with cluster feeding if you're nice and relaxed in front of the telly rather than bored and lonely upstairs!

anyway, like dinky has already said... co sleeping is best and easiest in those first weeks even if you don't want to continue it long term... i was practically ordered by the maternity nurses when i had dd to co sleep with her as it would help regulate her temp and breathing and would help us no end with establishing bf-ing. i resisted at first as i wasn't convinced it would be safe but after 2 days i was fully converted and with ds i just brought him straight into the bed with me.

PinkTulips · 17/01/2009 21:42

lbb's right about the smoking thing btw justme.... my dad has smoked all his life and if i complained as a child he'd be more likely to blow smoke at me than put out the fag...... but he has never in 4 years even attempted to light up around my children as he knows that would be unacceptable to me. he even goes out and stands in the rain in his own home when we're there and never moans.

even dp's dad obeys the rules about smoking around my kids... alcoholic twat that he is. he's whinged when drunk once or twice and thinks i don't know that he lights up in the house when we're in bed (because golden virginia stink is so hard to miss first thing in the morning ) but he does his alcoholic twatty best to folow the rules.

pinkspottywellies · 17/01/2009 21:48

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww I hadn't thought about there being a person with a willy in there

swampster · 17/01/2009 22:00

Pink, after our scans, a few of us had "Xxx has a penis" as our FB status message!

littleboyblue · 17/01/2009 22:03

I did! My status said something like, I have a willy in me. I only left it for about 20mins as sounded very rude, and my dad would read it

swampster · 17/01/2009 22:07

Yeah, I got a few raised eyebrows

pinkspottywellies · 17/01/2009 22:13

LOL

mumoverseas · 18/01/2009 05:38

morning all. Had a bloody awful night again and have been up since 3.30am (we are 3 hours ahead of you at the moment) kept trying to get back to sleep but just as I was dozing DD decided to play 'bounce, bounce' on the bed. Thankfully our houseboy was all ready to take her to nursery this morning so I just had to get her dressed, fed and make her lunch. she whimpered a bit but apparently was fine once she got there.

Have just cheered up reading the last few pages of posts and have giggled at some of them. That bra looks just what I need. I haven't even bothered with nursing bras this time. I've still got a few from when I had DD and will have to make do with those. No chance of getting them out here, let alone getting measured. With the exception of once shop in Riyadh all the rest of the underwear shops are staffed by men and they wouldn't have a clue and of course you can't get measured or try stuff on here. Made me laugh the first Christmas I was out here DH bought be a beautiful red silk negligee in a size 12. Fantastic, expect I was a size 16 and had given him my sizes which he gave to the man in the shop who somehow persuaded him I was a size 12, even though he had never seen me. I still have it and live in hope that one day it will fit me, either that or it will go in DD's dressing up box in a few years.

Hope you all have a good day

KT1983 · 18/01/2009 06:56

Morning Everyone,
Thanks for all the welcome back messages.
Am awake bright and early in the new house - tidying up already - Not that its untidy. My nesting instinct seems to be at a max recently - I seem to be cleaning the house from top to bottom everyday....Does this mean D-Day is close I wonder?

Seriously though, I feel that little Miss is well secured in there for a good few more weeks - dont think Iv had any braxton hicks yet, although cant be sure as im not too sure what they feel like?

Ive been drinking lots of cups of Raspberry leaf tea since 35weeks & scoffing pineapple ( just as a craving ) and also got a bit lucky with DP yesterday morning....so im sure im safe until at least the EDD.

I will NOT be trying the BJ theory - I agree that it must have been a bloke who made that up!

spottyshoes · 18/01/2009 07:04

Morning MOS hope you're having a relaxing day after your bad night. I've had a sleepless night too and have only managed to doze for 2hrs {yaaaaawn}

Unfortunately have a really busy day today rushing round several relatives and buying DH's new car. I just want to stay in bed

Hope the various nork dilemma's sort themselves out .

Mrsy I found specific bf tops very fussy and not worth it. I wear 2 layers, the bottom one being something like a stretchy vest top. Top layer comes up, vest comes down, baby attached to boob = minimum exposure. If just one layer I would rather pull down and pop a muslin over my shoulder as actually would far rather exposed my boob than my lovehandles/stomach!!!

spottyshoes · 18/01/2009 07:07

Morning KT - that could just be new house pride rather than nesting I wondered whether nesting has any indication as to when l.o's come too. I did loads yesterday (thankless bloody task in this house )

littleboyblue · 18/01/2009 07:53

Morning everyone. Only woke up 3 times last night so not too bad. No plans for today, really can't seem to find any motivation or energy but it is only 8am. Have lots of ironong to do at some point but don't think that'll happen.

MarkStretch · 18/01/2009 08:38

Pinkspotty I believe the dearly departed boco is also a friend of Guadaloupe (sp?), I know of her but have not met her. However, I am aware we both live in the highly desirable golden triangle...

I had a night of angry dreams. I dreamed I found DH's second phone and he had been making mysterious phonecalls in the middle of the night, that I had to run (!) to the shop to buy coffee, that people were flying kites made out of tea towels, I had to sing in a choir and that a small puppy bit me and attached itself to my thumb.

I woke up and wanted to repeatedly punch DH.

Hormones?

littleboyblue · 18/01/2009 08:56

Haha MS. I had similar a few weeks ago, dreamt dp had gone out with work lot, he came home pissed out of his nut with his boss in tow who told me dp had had sex with someone else, I didn't talk to dp all day!

MarkStretch · 18/01/2009 09:00

It's horrible isn't it LBB, I was SO ANGRY when I woke up.

littleboyblue · 18/01/2009 09:27

Hahaha. Yeah, and it's niot like we can tell them why we're pissed off with them or we'd look really crazy!!
I spent all day looking at him thinking you f*ing bastard, and really had to remind myself it was a dream! Wierd
He hasn't even been out without me since last christmas!

Pempe · 18/01/2009 10:25

I woke up from a bad dream about my DH a few weeks ago and was so angry I slapped him on the side of the head. Poor man. He had no idea what was going on.

KT1983 · 18/01/2009 10:32

HaHa Pemple - Thats funny. Your poor DH.

Ive been having weird dreams too - but only anxiety dreams about labour & birth.
Were going on a tour of the new hospital this afternoon, so no doubt, il be dreaming all sorts tonight.

rosieposey · 18/01/2009 10:38

Morning all

Havent been on for a couple of days so just skimmed thread, i keep coming on expecting to see a birth or two but am glad i havent missed any as yet.

Went to the pictures last night with DH to see Slumdog Millonaire and was too late so we watched Seven Pounds instead, was an excellent film but a word of warning i sobbed and sobbed my way through the last 20 mins of the film Im not sure in our fragile states that its such a great movie to watch lol anyway i marched DH straight into Slumdog Millonaire straight afterwards ( after a top of of some ice cream ) to watch that as i needed cheering up. Our UGC must have been highly amused at the sight of a red eyed heavily pregnant woman marching around the complex looking for ice cream in between films! Got out of there at 11.10 but was a lovely evening all in all

Is anyone going to the meet tomorrow? Just asking as feeling utterly knackered on these bp pills and wondering if anyone else is going to come or if were taking a raincheck till these babies are born?

Going to go and buy baby some toys i think today as he doesnt have any, just some little rattles and car seat toys ect.

Pempe · 18/01/2009 10:43

Ooh hospital tour is exciting KT. I asked to see the birthing rooms and wards of the hospital where I'm planning on giving birth and my gyno looked at me oddly. not the done thing here, apparently It'll all be a big surprise for me, which is just what you need when you're in the throes of labour pains and sleep deprivation

swampster · 18/01/2009 10:46

At this rate it'll just be me and DS2 in the RFH café tomorrow scoffing cakes!

I don't care, he is VERY good company.

laidbackinengland · 18/01/2009 10:53

Thanks for your film recommendations Rosie. My Mum arrived from the canaries yesterday and is now here for 5 weeks. She has just taken DS2 to the supermarket while DS1 is out skateboarding and DS3 is napping and DH is surfing (10 ft waves today here )

I think we might try and get to the cinema tonight as we have a built in babysitter !! Hmmm a weepy film or slumdog ?

Hope everyone having a relaxing weekend.

What happened to MsLucy ? And Ooogggs , have you had that baby yet ?

PinkTulips · 18/01/2009 11:19

right ladies.... here goes the cumin tea! (i know i was supposed to do it late night but dp had a friend round and i was in a grumpy mood so didn't actually want to wake up halfway through the night in labour)

am so bloody sore down below from the pressure of his head i swear to god if i dilate even a little i think kung fu panda will just fall out

littleboyblue · 18/01/2009 11:46

Still thinking about tomorrow......After feeling so exhausted after going out yesterday, I'm really not sure
I mentioned it to dp and the cheeky sod said there's no point in going if you're going to need me to pick you up. (!!! )
Whilst I have his son with me and am carrying another of his babies, if that's the case, no point in having sex anymore if you're gonna need me to pay for it for the following 40+ weeks.
Would really like to go, and dp'll be in bed all day so it's not like I can do any housework....but if we do come, I also won't get a nap.... Gosh the decisions......
