stripeywoollenhat · 17/01/2009 09:07

morning everybody, hope the new arrivals are all settling in nicely. i am feeling strangely optimistic today after days of grumping about. had a look at the number of posts left on this thread and have issued instruction to small one that she is to have started the trip out before the end of this thread - so that's today or tomorrow i'd say. (not that she's shown any sign of acceding to any previous instructions, of course...)

but, you know, onwards and upwards....

tinkisfourtyweeks · 17/01/2009 10:32

congrats mm and lg&t

hopefully it will be me soon

missjackson · 17/01/2009 10:33

Yey, congratulations to LGG&T and MM! Finally we got some more babies!

So yesterday got too fed up of mooching around the house waiting, so got in the car and drove an hour to Bristol to shop the habitat sale and see some friends. Ended up buying half the shop as they had some amazing bargains, and the lady looked a little concerned when she asked me when I was due to get the answer "in 2 days".

Anyway, still no sign of impending labour, but trying to enjoy these days... lovely and sunny here so might drag myself for a walk.

rrrayray · 17/01/2009 10:35

WOW... you ladies have been quiet! Usually MUCH more to catch up on! Is this a good sign... has everyone been off having babies?

Bless, OH slept in spare room last night, so rolled around in the bed to my hearts content last night & had SLIGHTLY better sleep!

Hope everyone else well!

moosemama · 17/01/2009 10:47

Morning, thanks for all the congrats.

*LG&T& beautiful name, and another quick delivery. We might take our time getting started but we certainly don't seem to hang around at the end on this list.

Elizabeth is doing well, but am exhausted as she fed often but for no longer than 25-30 mins a time through the night and also had terrible wind which resulted in Daddy taking her downstairs to work his Daddy winding magic as I really hadn't slept for well over 48 hours and was exhausted. (Think I got about an hour and a half in the end.)

Books hmm am just a tad sore shall we say. A fair bit of embroidery was applied and have discovered bedside cribs are a great idea but when you have new stitches its still not easy to pick your baby up - poor old DH had to get up come round and pass her to me every time last night!

Just about to go to bed last night when heard yelling from upstairs - DH went to investigate and then came steaming through the living room with DS2 yelling at me to take Elizabeth to our room out the way. DS2 then proceeded to vomit in the toilet for the next half and hour! DH sorted him out then had to strip, wash his own clothes and have an emergency shower and decontamination.

Not sure if he has a virus or if my Mum has fed him something that was out of date (wouldn't be the first time). Apparently he refused to eat his sandwiches yesterday because they tasted funny, so she made him eat them when he came home from school. Turns out they had chutney made by a friend in them and lord only knows how long that has been in her fridge. Is looking and sounding fine this morning and has helped himself to the fruitbowl before we emerged to can't be feeling sick anymore.

I have been quaranteened into our bedroom with Elizabeth though, just in case. She is snuggled up in bedside crib snuffling as I type.

Still can't quite believe she is here!

Am fascinated that she has dark hair (although not much of it) as both boys were/are blonde and at birth were nearly bald. Am taken aback every time I take her hat off! As long as it doesn't all fall out and grow back blonde I will finally have a child that looks like me instead of a Daddy-Mini-Me.

Good luck again to anyone niggling and twinging today - we're on a roll now folks - who wants to be next?

treedelivery · 17/01/2009 11:21

Hi everyone.

Loads of shows and sleep here so I guess I'm just not going to labour this baby. I'm just going to cause meyhem to those around me [poor mum has used up annual leave all week just waiting for me to pod].
Slept 11 hours with plenty of wee breaks and feel a bit refreshed today so that is an improvement.

Moose = really hope your ds is ok, last thing you need. Don't you get sick! Lovely name btw [and probably one we are choosing too!]

LG&T - lovely lovely name, I met a little India at a party and she was beautiful. Hope your India isn't nocturnal in the long term!

Ray - for you about MLU but hope you ahve a good Saturday on your sleep. It's my best day of the week, everything seems possible of a Saturday....

Stripey - I set goal to deliver before next thread too, now I'd settle for Jan thread full stop!

Wonder how flf is?

hkz · 17/01/2009 11:35

Morning all!
Hope all those patiently waiting are doing ok. I am now waiting very impatiently. Decided to see if a bit of bedroom action would get things going...then DD woke up (she NEVER wakes up...she's the soundest sleeper int he world) and came into our bed...eventually she dropped off and put her back to bed. Had to muster all my energy and enthusiasm...and woke up at two having contractions.... They weren't that strong, but were waking me through the night. by about 6 I decided to get up as was convinced things were going on, only to have everything trail off by about half 7.

So am going to take the dog off on an incredibly long walk, the weather is miserable...so it should be good!!

Ray, Stripey, Tree, MissJ- I am thinking positively...how about producing some new babies for the new thread? [smile}

Moose and LG&T- Hope all is well with the new arrivals...can't wait to be cuddling a newborn.

treedelivery · 17/01/2009 11:47

ROFL..dh now soooo frustrated he has gone to buy a sledge hammer to knock the out house down so dd's palatial tree house thing can be built [still leaning against wall wher it was put when we moved in 10 months ago].

Can I say that she has decking, I don't have decking but my dd has decking. Thats motherhood for you.

rrrayray · 17/01/2009 12:48

am i right in thinking a thread only can have 1,000 posts? ..Can't believe we're nearly in need of another one!

Just made flap jacks, sent OH off to his match (can't remember missing a home game, but can't be doing with all the questions about why i havent produced a baby yet, plus being surrounded by skinny glamourous albeit lovely girls when your tenn tonne preggy- well i just can't face today. So will listen online) and about to bed down on couch and demolish the lot!

treedelivery · 17/01/2009 13:01

We need a new thread!! Title ideas????

'The show must go on..and the waters..sometime..surely..'

Reflects my mood

stripeywoollenhat · 17/01/2009 13:35

didn't blue sapphire say something about evictions from the big mother house..? title potential?

have had (anybody feeling delicate stop reading) some fragments of browny-pink stringy bits of mucus and am wondering if this is the start of a show...? also feeling really quite achy... [hopeful emoticon]

rrrayray · 17/01/2009 15:27

Ohhhh stripey sounds like show like stuff to me!

Someone wrote something on my facebook about evictions from big mother house. Think its a hillarious & Brilliant idea! This is what they wrote. Made a grumpy pregnant woman smile!

"Baby this is Davina you have been evicted from the big mamma house. You have 5 minutes to pack up your things and leave- I'm coming to get you!"

stripeywoollenhat · 17/01/2009 15:49

okay, so sister, bil and baby niece have just left and for the last hour of their visit i've been ignoring some quite unpleasant pains in my lower abdomen which have been coming and going - and thinking 'well, what the hell is a contraction like, then...?' hadn't actually realised that i just don't know.... possibly i am getting ahead of myself here - think i will get in the bath and see if that relaxed things a bit...

stripeywoollenhat · 17/01/2009 15:49

relaxes, i mean

tinkisfourtyweeks · 17/01/2009 16:37

oh sounds interesting stripey hope it is starting

nothing here

treedelivery · 17/01/2009 16:37

Enjoy your bath stipey and see what happens. Exciting!!
early pains are like period achey low dragging crampy things.
later labour contractions are indescribable and 'who cares anyway am I dying holly moly' type pains. I found at any rate! They leave you in no doubt...like true love....awwwww

Might go for a monitoring as bubbs bit quite today. Hoping she'll wake up and do a reel so I don't have to.

More show here, the show must go on...for ages and ages. It just keeps coming! Yak.

Don't watch BB but like the title!

tinkisfourtyweeks · 17/01/2009 16:41

hope something happens for you soon tree

I noticed that the waiting list includes some people who must have had babies by now though they've not been back to tell us (please do if you've been away for a while). Tallulahbelle had her twins on New Year's Eve, she posted on another thread to say they'd got home on the 9th.
