Hi everyone

Elizabeth Jane was born yesterday at 5.35 pm weighing 7 lbs 8oz after just 1 hr 35 mins of labour (nothing to baby out) and no pain relief other than a tens which wasn't switched to the right settings.

She was born 'boil in the bag' style. Came out still in amniotic sac and waters burst as she hit the bed! Shot out like a torpedo.

Only came home this evening as her temp wouldn't come up due to being saturated at birth and post dates and my iron levels plummeted.

She is, of course, absolutely gorgeous. Daddy and boys are absolutely smitten (as is Mummy).

She is feeding fine and seems to have a very calm, placid nature. So far has only cried twice, one yelp when she came out and one short wail when she was regurgitating the fluid that didn't get squashed out of her lungs during labour due to the nature of her delivery.

It was lovely to see her responding to the boys voices when they gathered round to meet her - so clear that she recognised the sound from pre-birth.

Haven't read whole thread, but noticed LG&T has had her little one as well so congratulations LG&T.

Am off now to have a bath in my own bathroom and then snuggle up under my own duvet. Am knackered - no sleep to be had on post-natal ward as per usual.

Good luck to anyone labouring at the moment and anyone hoping to in the very near future.

moosemama · 16/01/2009 19:27

Oh yes! She stayed head down - but that's probably obvious from my previous message!

hkz · 16/01/2009 19:35

Congratulations Moose! Sounds like a great albour too, like the sound of 1 hr 35 mins. Enjoy the bath- you sound like you deserve it!

stripeywoollenhat · 16/01/2009 19:36

moosemama · 16/01/2009 19:45

Thanks, bath just running so still here at mo.

hkz - actually not really a great labour, but that's another story for another time - perhaps when everyone's finished having their babies.

EachPeachPearMum · 16/01/2009 19:55

FLF good luck, looking forward to hearing some more from others too...? Ray hope you get your wish about your labour, and if your MLU has disco balls in the room like mine does you may be distracted by the weirdness of it all!
