Just looked up back to back labour

I'll be shoving him back in lol

If not sitting in front of pc, have been on all fours with my arse bottom in the air, a very undignified position which DP has been taking full advantage of,
NOOOOOOOOO not like that.. i mean as in taking running slap position from across the living room.. when this baby's born and i can chase him he is soooo dead ..

Dog..Feel funny calling you that but hey ""Gotta quickie question, today my nipple (sorry tmi), feels all tingly a bit like the feeling when your milk lets down but more painful, anyone else had similar or am I weird again?""

You're weird No, actually, i also have this, my norks feel humungous also first time for everything i guess !

MW said twiddling nipples might bring on labour, gave it a try, all i got was sore nips HMPH.
Lamb.. ""has anyone else, after 9 confident months, had panic moments about labour when those pains come in the night?""

Hell yeah. Panic moment number 1.."I've changed my mind"
PM no 2: I'm going to have a fanjo like a bucket SOB
PM no 3: What if DP moves out of reach as the plan is to make sure he suffers labour as much as i do.. need balls in crushing distance for that..

So is anyone else thinking 'omg a tiny baby, how am i going to cope with those tiny arms and legs, ect.. ' even though they have already been there with older kids? I know you would think this is my first, feel scared that i've forgotten everything

Hi all. Nothing cooking here although slept for 10 hours with various wee breaks.

Glad to hear the acupuncture was enjoyable experience, imagin ewould be very very relaxing.

Dunno what to do with self on this rainy day, dd whiney pants today a bit. She has little stress worries bless her and isn't comfy in her skin at mo [told me last night in bed she doesn't wan't me to have the baby as it will hurt me, and we don't have money to buy things, nearly cried] They are little emotion sponges at this stage. Wouldn't mind but I have never mentioned or shown any fear of pain so I dunno where that came from. Couldn't much argue on the money front mind you!

Wonder how Moose, missparkle and shanster are doing. Hope they are settled in ok.
Agree aboout labour being like powerful ocean, and also like love...you just know...very corny but honestly true.

afternoon all, welcome to the least productive labour thread in the history of mumsnet, bluesapphire - it feels like, anyway...

so after spending yesterday wondering if things were about to kick off (not able to stand up straight, period-like pains all day, wrecked, grumpy...) everything has calmed down today, so i'm back on my labour (actually pilates) ball and slugging down the raspberry leaf tea, feeling very hard done by. have had a long bath and made a vague effort to tidy up lady garden but as i was doing it blind i imagine i just look like i've got mange now... fortunately, i can't see to feel ashamed of myself...

hope mssparkle, moose and shanster are well and truly underway; maybe we'll have loads of babies today [hopeful emoticon]

rrrayray · 15/01/2009 12:41

Morning ladies.

Had a shower after posting yesterday, and popped a pad on, and i think its just heavy discharge. Gross! The reasoning behind me freaking out about it being waters, was that on my Scan on 30th Dec my waters were normal, but by monday, they were SO low, they KEPT asking me if i'd had any leakages, so of course i was like, well none that i was aware of. i got the impression they think i have been leaking. so went into over drive when thought was a bit "damp" down there!!

FLF Has your accupuncutre done much? i have to say mine hasn't given me any signs labour has on its way, but... for a baby which has hardly moved in a week, shes having an absolute party in there now. He seems to give me the impression that was a good thing, as soon as the needles went in she started dancing & he seemed pleased with that. Did they give you an electric current through the needles too? My right hand was rather sore afterwards, but apart from that it was pain free. Were you given a needle in your head? apparently thats the relaxing one!

Tree Thanks for your wise words as always Glad you seem to have some sleep under your belt.

Books I know, Love juice, ha! i didn't know what else to call it. Sounds like reflexology is marginally cheaper. My acupuncture was £45 for 60 mins, but first 15 mins were a consultation b/c my first time.

moosey Thanks for coming to rescue when no Tree around! Feel bad always absuing tree for her opinion!!! Shes never off duty So sorry to hear you had such a rough day, nearing the end of preggy is hard for a first timer, let alone with other children to look after. Massive sympathies & hugs, hope you had a good nights sleep & feel better today!

Right, off to get something to eat, Starving!!!

Shanster · 15/01/2009 13:16

Morning ladies, am very bored so I thought I'd pop on and give an induction update (thanks to the wifi here in labor & delivery, what a great idea!!). Got here at 5pm last night and am not even 1cm dilated now...we are going for a 2nd round of cervagel (sp?) to see how I get on. Annoying thing is contractions did start so am contracting every couple of minutes but it doesn't seem to be doing anything useful down there.
Hopefully things are going better for moose and miss sparkle!

rrrayray · 15/01/2009 13:23

Shanster- feeling for you, am not looking forwards to being induced tuesday if nothing happens between now and then! Very impressed at wifi in delivery!

lots and lots of luck that second time around is your time!! xxx

shanster - hope it works with the second go - time for some star jumps...?

hkz · 15/01/2009 13:48

Good luck Shanster...hope it starts working for oyu soon.. can't believe you have wifi! No chance of that on the NHS!

FLf- Just got back from broadway market...really lovely lady. Accupuncture was great, really relaxing and I could feel waves of energy inside me (I know that sounds like a load of ol hippy talk...but its true) Felt like the baby was sort of surging downwards. feel very relaxed now. Will def. go back if no baby by tuesday (Due date was yesterday!)

Blue- have tried the nipple twiddling thing...but seem to lose my concentration and get bored! DP keeps volunteering but he's not going anywhere near these babies for a while...I know his game! (poor DP he's being very patient)

Morning Tree, glad you had a good snooze. Bless your DD, had a peak at your profile and she's gorgeous.

Right....bacon sandwich, raspberry leaf tea, midwife appointment....have baby...that's my plan for the day and in that order would be nice.

lambskinmmm · 15/01/2009 14:07

books... good website, but now panicking that its too late at 40 weeks with an ROA position and should have been more concerned earlier. och well, off to do some yoga moves in my sitting room anyway. first time for everything I suppose!!

hkz · 15/01/2009 14:23

GTDAHB- Bloody maternity notes! are you ok?

fymandwhenisthisbabycoming · 15/01/2009 14:48

dog hope you're ok....

hkz, Dh and I have been having a rather active time in bed lately and the nipple twiddling definitely works - rather spoilt everything last night as I was getting repeated contractions.....

Shanster - good luck - it took me 8-10 hours of regular contractions to get to 3cm last time round (although not an induction) so it can take a while! I found walking and going upa nd down stairs helped!

Hey rray! wasl ROFL at love juice! Mind you as per comment to hkz couln't do anything last night as everytime DH touched me (top or bottom half) resulted in a contraction! go for it!

midwife for a checkup tomorrow, just under 39 weeks now so as DS was on time it could be any day now (finegers crossed!)

stripeywoollenhat · 15/01/2009 14:48

gtdab - hope you are okay, and have taken hkz's advice re tea and biscuits.

don't know what my small one is up to, but it feels a bit like she has put on shoes....

eek at give the dog, sounds scary

Welcome blue sapphire, I'm worried about induction too, but I'm not due until the end of the month so if that happens it will be February.

treedelivery · 15/01/2009 15:59

Hi Shanster, don't worry about the time thing took me 5 hours of regular painfull happenings to get to 1-2 cms so induction mirrors the slow process of nature. Be far to hard and shocking for us ohterwise, especialy the 1st time. The gel stage takes a good 12,18 or 24 hours, which is just like establishing....seem to be into 2nd week of establishing mayself. Could murder a bit of prostin gel.

Dh has just wound me up to shouting levels so buggered if bedroom action will be used to assist labour. Unless good clobber round ear hole counts as fore play. [only joking but oooo tempted]

Don't worry about asking me stuff people, it's all good!! I can always say if dunno, and if I do know it's no hardship to type out a few lines. Just a pita I can only give general knowledge and general factual stuff, can't advise you as individuals as can't take the responsibility. Would have to notify the supervisors of practice in all your localities to do that!! So will always be putting in the 'and ring yor unit to get their advice' disclaimer

OOOOo wonder how Moose is doing. Why can't we have wifi in the wards?? Pants.

hkz · 15/01/2009 16:47

Just got back from MW...baby is 4/5 engaged...yay!

Completely forgot to ask about sweep....der...pregnancy brain.
Now will have to wait for next week. Talked about induction, but said they would let me go two weeks over and can have a home birth up til that point... so have come back feeling pretty positive.

Lots of tightenings and backache and cramp, but not proper ouchy ouch ones...

Just told DP the midwife advised me to have sex and curries...his face lit up...two of his favourite things...just need to find the energy.
