She was definitely head down at the last scan a couple of weeks ago and both the Registrar last Monday and Midwife on Sunday who did the sweeps were positive they felt the head. Also had loads of kicks up at the top and hiccups at the bottom, so it seems like she was head down and turned herself back around.

Have been thinking and felt some low kicks and kicking around bowel area while bouncing on ball at 2.00 this morning, should've known something was up then really.

Aaaagh. I want to lie down, sooooo sleepy!

treedelivery · 14/01/2009 16:59

Blimey a determined little lady!

moosemama · 14/01/2009 17:00

Hmmm, not the words I used when I found out this morning!

tinkisdueanyday · 14/01/2009 17:18

i am doing good tree thanks

last contraction was @ 10am this morning and have been getting tightenings since 3pm feels like it wont be long till i start getting more contractions

hope you are ok mm and get sorted good luck

largeginandtonic · 14/01/2009 17:21

Moose!!! She must be teeny tiny to do all that flipping round! I think if mine did that i would pass out All will be well tomorrow, hopefully the prostin will set it off and you could have a baby by tea time Good luck my lovely.

Tree you lucky lady getting a sweep. Hooray the pains are doing something.

The consultant took longer to read my notes than talk to me. Nothing to say really, a wait for an hour and a half with the demon toddler for nowt. She just said see you next week if you have not delivered. I will be a day off 10 days then!

I phoned the midwife for a sweep when i got in and she wont see me till Sunday!!! Not at home either, i have to go in! Great, so could have the sweep and go in to labour and then have to drive myself home! I was a teary mess for a while this afternoon

Hey ho, no point getting too upset. The girl will come when she is ready i suppose.

Tink do you think this is it?

Stripey how are you?

Rrray hope you had a nicer day today then yesterday. Sleep in and feet up.

stripeywoollenhat · 14/01/2009 17:40

just woke up after an afternoon's dozing on the couch. lg&t, still a bit twingey but better than earlier - think the small one has got her head down as low as she can go without actually coming out.... about to have some raspberry leaf tea, clearly not feeling sufficiently uncomfortable

sorry your midwife wants you to go to her for the sweep - surely a bit counter productive? but perhaps your wee one will have obliged you by sunday anyway

moose - she must be a tiddler, and very very comfortable! sorry to hear about family - i hate that when people say they'll do something and then don't. much worse than not agreeing to help out in the first place. have you got a sofa you can arrange to sleep upright on with loads of cushions to prop you up?

tink, i hope it kicks in for you this evening

treedelivery · 14/01/2009 17:48

G&T - ring up and ask her or some community midwife or other to come out if you can't face it love. I would [I did!!] Just tell them you feel shite and can't face coming in.

Haven't laboured so it's looking less likely I suppose.....

what are this kid and my body waiting for. Her head is 2/5th and really low on examination, mw can feel bulging waters and soem of her suture lines ffs! Cervix 50%effaced, thinning and stretchy.....I feel like I'm sitting on a melon and like someone keeps trying to get through....so come on then!! Lets be having you!!

Will no doubt be pining for these boring days of waiting when feeding for 12 hour stretches with a sore bum and back to reality!

Ditto fainting if she turned breech, I feel sore when she wiggles her head! Feels like a corkscrew I have decided.

MsSparkle · 14/01/2009 17:54

Moose you poor lady! Fingers crossed she doesn't turn tonight.

My bump is so solid, i don't know the sex but have said it is probably a huge boy in there! I am dreading tomorrow, i am so scared.

MissHairspray · 14/01/2009 18:38

Good luck for tomorrow ms sparkle I know this isn't what you wanted but either way it should all be over by the end of the week and you will have a gorgeous little baby.
Same to you moosemamma sorry your family are being so rubbish, you have had sooo much to put up with over the past few months.

Tree and Tink hope things are happening for you soon

Still nothing to report here but now as well as the 'have you hadit yet' calls/texts everyone has some 'wise' advise about how to get things moving, like I don't know myself! Even my mum told me to have sex, eeeww! That's definitely one thing I won't miss about being pregnant - everyone having an opinion on everything from the size of your bump to what the sex is going to be to how to induce labour.

Positive labour vibes to you all tonight

moosemama · 14/01/2009 18:43

Have managed to arrange sofa with a ridiculous amount of cushions so that I am sitting upright with feet up and fairly comfortable except for killer pubic bone pain which seems bad no matter where I sit tonight (hoping that's cos her head is putting the pressure on down there).

Not sure if I'll be able to sleep like this, but will give it a try. After all, if all goes well I might be able to sleep in whatever position I want tomorrow night.

fourlittlefeet · 14/01/2009 18:46

good luck sparkle... tree, whats the hap?

Moose, if you look on the spinning babies website, there are a couple of lying down positions that are meant to keep them the right way round. One is on your tummy with loads of cushions round your bump!!!

moosemama · 14/01/2009 18:49

Thanks flf don't know why I didn't think of looking there, been recommending it to everyone else. Will mooch on over there now.

fourlittlefeet · 14/01/2009 18:50

they are also meant to turn their backs towards heat, so get an ice pack behind you and a nice warm hot water bottle on your left hand tum

tinkisdueanyday · 14/01/2009 18:50

i think so tree that it is the startings of things.
thanks stripey
i have had 2 more contractions since 5:30pm last one was 45 mins apart
have midwife appointment @ 5pm tom

rrrayray · 14/01/2009 18:52

evening ladies.

dont have time to catch up, will later.

Do we have anymore babies? or established labours? or just niggles?

I had accupuncture this morning. Has anyone used this before? The guy was amazing, totally put me at ease (even though i don't actually like needles!) And as he said, within mins of the needles being in, she was kicking away... yes.... the little bubbs which has been super quiet was kicking away!!!! He also said, that bar one woman, where NOTHING he did seemed to work for her, and induction didn't even work (she ended up with a C section) he has a 100% sucsess rate with inducing! ...........So fingers crossed for me!! I have a dull period like Ache at the moment.... So, ??!?

This afternoon met with my NCT class ladies. Really nice, starting to feel like we're really bonding, being much more open, a bit like on here, but RL.

tree How are your niggles? still no labour?
do you believe in powers of accupuncture? your colleuges? < Sorry tad obsessed>

Oh, and totally forgot to say, from notes yesterday her head is 3/5ths.... so i think thats all good too!!!!

Off to whip up some dinner, Starving!! xx

qumps · 14/01/2009 19:48

rayray sorry to hear you have had a rough time. try to think of monitoring as positive and the fact that baby is nearly here. acupuncture sounds great. i have had it for back/neck pain. its the craziest thing!
moose so sorry to hear baby has shifted again. and after all your hard work. fingers crossed it moves back and gets comfy.
sparkle don't be scared. good luck and can't wait to hear your news.
lgat sounds like jiggy should be on the menu for you! pain that midwife won't come to you but worth the trip i guess if it gets it all going.
can't believe stanley nearly 4 weeks old. got the all clear at the jaundice c linic yesterday so just the scans in a few weeks. 9lb 8oz now the little porker. he is short but wide like his daddy! reality of 2 kids kicked in today and had a cry. luckily dh home so also had a sleepy cuddle with stanley while dh and ds1 made cakes. wish dh could be home all the time and dreading him going back to work. he has been training so done a few bits and pieces on my own including bathing them both. epic!

EachPeachPearMum · 14/01/2009 20:12

Oh Moose- what a crappy affair! but I am chortling at DH being the playmate of the dogs, rather than their leader

AM still incredibly grumpy- had a massive rant on my post-natal thread about the crappy car situation, and burst into tears! Not me- definitely hormones! SOmethings gonna happen soon- I never have hormones....erk

Best of luck for those with inductions tomorrow- lets hope they do their jobs quickly and smoothly!

fourlittlefeet · 14/01/2009 20:54

gosh... spurred on by moose, I've just been reading the spinning babies thread and convinced myself that I needed to do and inversion.... so far during a lot of the contractions it felt as if the baby was being shoved against my pelvic bones, that feeling has now gone so am really excited that it actually had an affect. probably another misnomer a bit like thinking I was already 1cm dilated.. then again, positive vibes and if I believe it enough...

moose - how rubbish for you, I'd be furious and having proper prego rage if I were you.

I am just off to the hospital to be induced Had a scan today and baby is 9lbs, so they said we should get her out before she gets any bigger. As soon as my jamies are out of the tumble drier, I am off to the hospital. Woo hoo!!!

fourlittlefeet · 14/01/2009 21:01

mines going to be £45 for one session. pricey, but apparently it helps you relax and sleep well before the birth, and strengthens you for the process, minimising interventions... and its about £700 cheaper than a doula! (not that it performs all of their functions, just that would have been next in my list of preferences!)

hkz · 14/01/2009 21:20

FLF- Where are you getting it done? I am seriously tempted...its my due date and nothing is happening. Feeling very bored and impatient. The only place I know of is Holisitc health on broadway market..

fourlittlefeet · 14/01/2009 21:26
