morning!

have had crampy periods pains since 3am... then an 'evacuation' with a bloody show.

Now. The consultant told me to expect a show after whatever he did yesterday but... could this be it?? Will keep you updated.

good luck flf!

tinkisdueanyday · 14/01/2009 07:46

good luck flf

i had contractions up until 11:30pm before i tried to get some sleep. today have had 2 painful ones @ 6am and 6:30am

largeginandtonic · 14/01/2009 08:12

More sporadic contractions here too Tink, they seem to mean naff all though.

FLF if you had a good sweep it will probably give you a show. It does not always mean things are happening but along with all your niggling i wuold be hopeful!

I checked my phone last night before i went to bed and had 10 messages and so it begins.

I see the consultant this morning with the whingy 'hate all appointments' 18 month old. Joy. That may put me in to labour i suppose.

Rrray how do you feel this morning?

Tree did they all vanish then? Mine have been doing this now since Friday, am thoroughly fecked off.

We need some baies to be born today please, a few happens in the blink of an eye ones to restore hope

have had 3 more contractions 10 minutes apart

sorry about the house dog

fymandwhenisthisbabycoming · 14/01/2009 09:14

dog - start a baby name thread - we've got our name now!! tell people what you like (traditional/unusual/can or can't be shortened etc) you'll get lots of suggestions!

sorry about the house, we have a large, high ceiling house and it does cost a lot to heat...the space is lovely though!

I'm the same - with BH or small contractions every time I bend or exert myself...wasn't like this 1st time round! my first 'pain' was labour!

Oh dog- that is a shame- but I suppose with the current economic climate it makes sense- some people are paying bills you wouldn't believe, and it is very cold.
Maybe once baby is here he'll realise you do need more space, and something more medium sized will come up, fingers-crossed. I think there will be a lot of property available to rent over next 12 months, as people just can't sell so are letting instead.

flf- hope this is it for you !

I am really grumpy this morning... so maybe its all about to start for me too?

I'm here now. cavalry have arrived in the form of my mother to look after DD for the day. Part of me thinks if things are happening I should be moving around lots to get it all going....but I feel shattered and crampy and just want to snuggle in bed. Bed has won so am going to trust my bod and try and get some sleep! Pains + contractions + tiredness + grumpy 20 month old + cheery grandmother is absolute hell. Am going to try and block it out for a couple of hours!

Oooo, good luck FLF,

Tink and Lg&t, hope it kicls off for you too!

GTDAHB- Sorry about the house...we live in a damp old victorian terrace and it just absorbs heat and is still freezing! I am struggling with names too...so will be checking your thread for ideas..

Fym- I know what you mean, with DD I just went into labour and definitely knew about it... I am so bored with feeling 'am I aren't I?'

Right...gotta take DD to playgroup...

fourlittlefeet · 14/01/2009 10:24

all you bored people - go and make biscuits and hummous! kept away the doldrums nicely yesterday.

dad here now watching t.v
have had 7 painful contractions since this morning all different times apart 1 was 30 mins apart, another 1 hr and another 6 mins

Spink · 14/01/2009 10:33

FLF - will be thinking of you and sending lovely labour vibes. resting sounds like a brilliant plan, things will get going soon enough!!

GTDAB - sorry you're having a shitty day. do at least one lovely thing for yourself today and try to get that house out of your mind...
kind of related to that - DH and I have been a bit stressed, money stuff becoming more real and scary now Rosie is here. We both tend to kind of hold onto and chew over the things that are worrying and frustrating us, and want to try to let things go if we can't do anything about them. Otherwise it just feels like we're magnifying our problems by giving them too much headspace.

Tink, tree, anyone else twinging lots - hope it kicks in soon. think my falsies definitely warmed me up for a quick and not so bad labour, so all the pains and tightenings could already be doing good work!

ray - poor you. don't blame you for feeling tearful. you sound like you've got a really good attitude towards it all though. go girl it will all happen soon and this will be a distant distant memory.. and besides, make for a more interesting birth story to share with your lo.

treedelivery · 14/01/2009 10:46

Morning all.
Well, mum drove up the 50 mils last night and got her work covered so sure was I. I swear as soon as she walked in the house it all stopped. Slept at 11pm ish [haven't done that for a week] till 9am, with about 8 toilet trips and pain wake ups.

Kept dd off preschool too - can't face it!

So have spat dummy and rung community mw for advice. Bless her heart it was her day off, she offered to come and do a sweep. Told her not to be crazy and go for her walk with husband as planned!! Bless her though.

FYM - we are the same!! Thought 2nd time was meant to be easier...???? I woke up in active labour, this is pants!

Feel tired, sick, achey and worried. Maybe UTI
DD has bit of a temp too. Happy days!!

EachPeachPearMum · 14/01/2009 10:53

dog- am due 21st... but he is hammering at the exit at the moment! DD was over by 4 days though (well 5 by the time she arrived )
£150 extra per month is an awful lot at the moment, so it's probably for the best, especially with another DC about to arrive. I know it's horrible- I fall in love with houses too easily myself, definitely, and thankfully DH is there to explain all the practical reasons of why we shouldn't go for a particular one... but we do need more space.
We will have to move fairly soon...

Moose didn't sign in yet this am... so maybe last night was it?

missjackson · 14/01/2009 12:08

Tink, Tree and FLF am sending you good labour vibes.

Phone and internet went down yesterday afternoon so was mildly worried thinking I would have to literally walk thru a field to the nearest farm if I went into labour, as no mobile signal here. BT fixed it this morning - farmer had managed to chain saw thru a cable!

And now we have run out of oil so no heating - it's freeeezing here so am off to my Mum's for a hot shower, lunch and nap! Not coming back till it's warm again.

But did have a tiny little bit of clear mucus with spot of blood when I went to the loo just now - is that what we might call a 'show' I wonder? If so, could I expect any action soon?
