congratulations, happy! welcome to baby jack!

mssparkle, i really hope your small one makes an appearance before thursday. my bump is also becoming increasingly uncomfortable and little stripey has not, i fear, got little feet - she spends a lot of time trying to break out through my right side....

gtdab, hope you and oh can work it out re the house - when do you have to decide by?

has flf gone off to have a baby for the full moon, do we think?

OK, you asked for it!

Lots more twinges, lots of sharp shooting pains, bump lower, pelvis agony and baby has been in an obvious grump since sweep with lots of flouncing around and pushing out movement which are making me feel really puky. Can't get comfortable anywhere for more than about 5 minutes and am cheesed off with being so sore and unfcomfortable, but nothing regular or suggesting labour is imminent.

Midwife said not allowed to have baby until Tuesday as she is off duty till then!

Am also booked in on Thursday morning for an induction should nothing happen between now and then.

DS2 just asked if he could watch if I have the baby at home! Not very comfortable with that idea and told him that babies don't like there to be lots of people in the room when they come out as they are used to being on their own in Mummy's tummy! Also told him she is most likely to decide to come out during the night so he is better off having a good sleep at Grandma's house so that he is well rested and ready to meet her.

I think it came from him getting upset at overhearing I might have to go into hospital to have the baby. He kept saying, I don't want you to go into hospital Mummy. I had to explain that it wouldn't be like when he was in hospital and I would probably be home in a few hours and not need to stay overnight. He wanted to know why I would need to go in and I said it would only be if she doesn't want to come out because she is sooo comfy and the Doctors need to encourage her. He said they could encourage her at home, but accepted it when I said that the Doctors have everything they need at the hospital. He was much happier about it all after that.

flf whats happening? Any news?

stripeywoollenhat · 11/01/2009 18:21

moose, i have to say, your ds sounds absolutely adorable. hope your sweep does the business

moosemama · 11/01/2009 18:28

Thanks Stripey, I think he is anyway, but may be just a tad biased. Sunday's child y'see Bonny, Blithe, Good and Gay! DS1 is Wednesday's child Full of Woe!

Wonder what day this one's going to be?

fymandwhenisthisbabycoming · 11/01/2009 18:32

so much for a relaxing afternoon had pizza express, came home and ds tripped coming in and head butted the concrete step - LOTS of blood - after a trip to a&e the cut has been superglued and it's not as bad as it looked thank goodness...

stripeywoollenhat · 11/01/2009 18:33

monday 12th all round? fair of face, yes?

moosemama · 11/01/2009 18:44

fym DS2 did exactly the same thing when he was 2. Couldn't believe the amount of blood - DH went into total panic mode and ran round like a headless chicken! Once it had been glued at A&E though it looked like nothing at all. He has the cutest little scar there now.

It really shakes you up to see your little one covered in blood like that doesn't it! Definitely a chocolate night - for your nerves, purely medicinal!

Dunno Stripey after all the accidents DS2 has had in his short life,Tuesday's 'Full of Grace' might be a nice change!

fourlittlefeet · 11/01/2009 18:54

No news, sorry! Been having tightenings again today, but not ouchy; they save themselves for evenings and at night .

Lori, I've already got an observer for an hour a week for the next year, so its too much to commit to two. Have you tried starting a thread on here, or popping into your local pregnancy yoga sessions? Thats how I agreed to do mine. Good luck with it, think its really important that people help with these things, but it is an enormous commitment!

HI everyone.

Flf you're being very good about your falsie, seems to remember fairly spitting feathers after mine and wandering about mumbling 'I had none of this with Jess'. Tis true though.

Went to town today [depressing place, not alot going for it I have to say] but managed to get a changing mat from wilko's thats waaay to small for the M&P table. Refuse to spend £20 on one from Mammas though, even if I could! DD sat down and spontaneously ate 3 orange slices, 5 grapes and a kiwi after dinner - t'was like she knew I needed cheering up bless her!

Blooming back ache after walking about. Have study days tommorrow and Tuesday [aren't I on annual leave/matty leave ] but will see how night goes. Might be pulling another all nighter with flf! They are on the new maternity computer system at the trust. Yawn.

fourlittlefeet · 11/01/2009 19:37

Lol tree, see you there! Was lovely to have a friendly face around last night, I can tell you! I think the whole thing with professional opinions when it comes to this malarky, is that every body and every pregnancy and every baby is soooo different, that I reckon exceptions rule!

I know the minute I relax and think the baby won't come out its going to suddenly do it.

OP posts:
treedelivery · 11/01/2009 19:44

Bless you. Felt a rat bag last night though cos wanted to say - get bath get to bed and eat all before you. But had to say exactly what delivery suite would say if you had rang.....

Exceptions rule around here. What is with our babies???? Why aren't more coming out!!! AND alot of us are 2nd timers and more so statistics just demand more babies around here!

Does anyone else think £20 for a changing mat is too much? And why does it have to sing? Or am I being grumpy

DH has packed his labour bag. Cycling mag, cheese and chive pringles [cos I'll really appreciate that breath in my face at 3am], minstrels and 2litres of coke. No change, no telephone numbers, no toothbrush for night gammy mouth, no sense.

Should have sent him to parentcraft on his own!

treedelivery · 11/01/2009 19:46

....No camera, no batteries, no camcorder...
Male equivelent of me packing hair straigtners, g string and a marie claire in labour bag.

fourlittlefeet · 11/01/2009 19:48

lol tree. am giggling at your DH. DP now getting ideas .

Sorry to hear it still hasnt happened for you FLF moose sorry no baby for you either. Although sounding pretty promising! Your DS sounds like a total cutie!

tree brave you heading into town, i had hardly done anything today. Got a busy day tomorrow though.

Fym how horrid for DS and you, very glad to hear isn't as bad as it looked and all OK now.

tink we have maxi cosi car seat too... obviously being a first timer can't say for sure how good yet, but friends rant and rave about it. Got the isofix base for car too, which seems like going to be an absolute Gem!

Got Consultant at 9.30am. Am wondering what he is likely to say? i have felt ONE movement since monitoring yesterday and one bout of hiccups? Hmmm.....

Then, provided he is happy for me to leave, i have a lovely pampering/girly day booked in with a friend.Going for a mooch in town to pick up a relaxing CD, some pjs for when lounging around after birth and some nice moisturiser lotion. Then having some lunch at fave place, then got pampering booked in at aveda salon. "self Renewal" which is a 30 mins back massage, foot massage, and a facial, then a Spa pedicure. Mmmmmmmmm! So at least if i havent got a baby yet, i'll feel slightly more yummy!

treedelivery · 11/01/2009 20:00

Can I have your tommorrow Ray? I have 7 hr day on a computer system.
'Fraid I'd be telling consultant anything and allsorts to secure an escape!

gtab, go and have a soothing bath with a good book! sounds like you desperately need some down time and some good sleep.

I've found eating something small like honey on toast really helps with calming the braxtons as well letting me sleep better (have been waking hungry in the night ).

Failing that, we are happy to hear you moan..if you can't do it here...

I went into Wood Green to try and find some things to use various gift vouchers today (Mothercare for ds1, WH Smiths and HMV for dp and me), but feeling really apathetic - queueing up twice was as much as I could cope with - couldn't face the Adams closing down sale or anything. I want my body back. But we also need time to get ourselves organised in the house.

Hope something comes of all the niggles soon, flf/mm/anyone else with that experience.

elkiedee · 11/01/2009 20:39

£20 sounds way too much for a changing mat to me. Ours cost £10 from dp's favourite football club, but while I'm not a football fan I quite like the wolves design on it, but I would have thought you could pick up one for half that.

fymandwhenisthisbabycoming · 11/01/2009 20:40

rray - while I think bout it - when you don't feel the baby move try one (or all!) of the following

a big glass of orange juice
a large chocolate bar
jelly beans
a large glass ice cold water

OJ and jelly beans always gets my LO moving

changing mat wise, I really recommend this

rrrayray · 11/01/2009 20:54

Tree visions of your face squished up against aveda salon window very funny/cute! Pampering is actually OH's idea, and he is also footing the bill! Think he has realised how fed up i am! RE: Consultant, part of me will want to be out of there asap for pampering day, other half of me desperately wants him to suggest induction..... FED up of being pregnancy!

Fym Have consumed all of those, apart from jelly beans! Will have to get on that!

Changing Mat - sorry cant remmeber who was talking about changing mats, i bought a plain pink one from mothercare for about £6. Its only going to get poo/wee/sick on it, so a nice simply wipe clean one from mothercare was more than sufficent in my eyes.
