no baby yet, but contractions still very strong, though not very painful when up, thankfully. Tree, my mum has the tens as its hers. its quite a funky one that has slippers and all sorts so wasn't sure it would be good for labour as its not 'that kind', but better than nothing and since you've been banging on about them....

still no news from Moose (looks around hopefully), we surely have to have at least ONE full moon baby, no?

FLF and Moose - sending labour vibes this must be it, esp if your pains have been going for so long now FLF.

Sorry folks. Am still here I'm afraid.

Tightenings started up again and kept me up most of the night but despite being about every 15-20 mins were only low and at the front so was pretty sure they weren't the start of anything big.

Can't believe I didn't log on and see what was going on with FLF!

Contratulations on the arrival of little Jack Happy.

Midwife has just left. Cervix has moved forwards from posterior and is 2cm (1cm last time) and she has finally engaged 2/5 whereas has been free at every appointment so far. So an improvement from last Monday but not enough progress for my liking. Had a sweep, which wasn't painful and didn't leave me unable to walk this time and will have to see what happens next.

Midwife thinks baby turned posterior from breech and is inching her way round so that's what all the twinges etc are about.

She's been really feisty since the sweep, am going to be black and blue at this rate.

DS1 hasn't been sick again, but is very pale and keeps bursting into tears. He was livid that we made him stay in his bedroom the whole time the Midwife was here!

Right must get on birthing ball now and then go for a few jaunts up and down the stairs - apparently sideways is the way to go according to Midwife.

fymandwhenisthisbabycoming · 11/01/2009 11:56

are any of you feeling really weak at the mo - I'm not ill but my legs don't feel like working....

treedelivery · 11/01/2009 12:19

Flf - hello you and well done for getting through the night. I see what you mean about the TENS, was wondering if maybe your mum had had recent contractions! The obstetric ones has 4 pads and a booster. Do did you get any sleep last night?

It's a wierd postition for you isn't it as it's your 2nd dc but then it's your bodys 1st labour and all the 'stay at home' glares from midwives don't apply in the same way for you. And your right if you tell them you have hiccups they will want to monitor you, which 'aint easy with dc's to arrange care for!

I find it as I can't give my real personal opinion on some stuff incase the NMC thinks I'm handing out individual advice and comes to slap my bum! Same on other threads. So if I go all corporate speak you know why and please forgive me!

I dropped off at 10pm till 12, then up till 6am. Finally dropped off again with tens..having tightnings 1 in 15. Dashed to computer as soon as woke today

Hope your pelvis feels better soon Moose, poor you it sucks.

rrrayray · 11/01/2009 12:20

morning ladies.

moose sorry you havent got babe in arms just yet, but sounds like your midwife is encouraged with the changes, and great news bubba is now engaged.

FLF Go girl... lets have us another bubba.

Happy Congratulations on Jack.

Fymandbean have been on and off with a cold for so long i think its the remains of that making me feel like crap. today, for the first time in forever, i'm doing NOTHING, apart from a little bit of hoovering (desperately needs it) and laying snuggly on the couch!

elkiedee · 11/01/2009 12:21

Congratulations Happy, welcome Jack

fym, I've felt like that for weeks/nths on and off

treedelivery · 11/01/2009 12:27

Moose - hope ds rallies again soon. Poor wee man!

fym, same as elkiedee. Yesterday for example, got wobbles going to loo. Never had any of this with dd1! Nor this night time wandering and tightning malarky.

Enjoy a day of rest Ray! Bugger the hoovering.

G&T - thats some hardcore motivational labour stuff there!! 3 nights in a row...what the...how in the....how did you...which way did you....what with no wine...

No, can't get my head around it at all. Have shut up shop for business here

tinkhaslessthanaweek · 11/01/2009 15:18

Lori75 · 11/01/2009 15:36

Dear Mums To Be, I have been reading with delight and wonder about the adventures of pregnancy -wobbles going to the loo - oh my!
I'm not pregnant but am looking to find a special baby to observe as the key part of a child development course I have started. I'm a primary school teacher in Muswell Hill, North London and was wondering if anyone could suggest how I might find a mum due at the end of January/early February who might be interested? The observations are confidential, but I'll happily share them with mum if she'd like.
Sorry to crash your chats, couldn't resist jumping in
Lorraine

gtdab sorry to hear about your day. House hunting is always a pita when the two of you have to agree. Hope you manage to reach and agreement soon.

I was really p'd off when I found out our carseat had 'expired' according to the manufacturer which meant it wasn't safe to use. Not a mark on the flippin thing and we had to chuck it!

Am currently sitting on birth ball watching Jailhouse Rock and MNetting. Shame its not more of a musical Elvis film as would probably feel more like bouncing if it was. We did have a good bounce to 'You're so Square'. Me an' the boys are big Elvis fans. DS2 just told me (again) that he is going to be a 'Wock Star' when he grows up! (His favourite song ever is Blue Suede Shoes!)

DH came back from Tesco's with a triple set of Flashdance, Footloose and Pretty in Pink DVDs for me last night. He reckons if I'm going to be up all night I should have some feelgood films from our youth to watch!

Congatats happy on baby Jack

G&T i am impressed with all your doings! I have tried curry, rl tea (which just makes me feel sick now) and sex. Oh and walking! Nothing is working for me though, i hope it does for you.

Moose and FLF, i hope your tightning turn into something. I think we are in the same boat where we keep thinking is this it? Then nothing further happening.

I have an induction date which is Thursday at 8am! I don't think i can carry on that long though. My bump is so hard and when the baby tries to move it hurts so much. Come on labour...
