stripeywoollenhat · 10/01/2009 20:39

go moose! somebody has got to have a baby for the full moon (and i really don't think it's gonna be stripey junior)

fym, i would definitely give the funeral a miss in your position, can dh go without you? if you feel sufficiently un-imminent, as it were?

eachpeach, rubbish about car, glad you managed to get some shopping done anyway

dp came home with the first series of madmen on dvd today, so it's the sofa and the fire and possibly some chocolate for me for the rest of the evening....

AprilMeadow · 10/01/2009 20:41

Blardy Hell LG&T are you still here!!!!

Fingers crossed for you all that you arent kept waiting for too much longer x

fourlittlefeet · 10/01/2009 20:52

Wow, everybody's been super busy typing on this thread since this morning. Way too much to catch up on. Have spent the day lounging about feeling sorry for myself and my piles, managed to have a total of three baths to relive the pain and spoke to MW who actually recommended some cream that seems to have worked...still sitting a little bit gingerly though

Rrray- Glad everything checked out ok with your bubba

EachPeah- Sorry to hear about your car, that sucks, at least you're ok though

Moose- Good luck, hope the full moon is helping!

Hope everyone elses various aches and pains are subsiding and the full moon brings on some more baby action

LooseyC · 10/01/2009 21:28

Good evening all - good luck Moose, I want to read another birth story like Lenni's!

I think the thing about the hormones must be true - I have gone from loving being pregnant to so wanting it over within a week or so and I'm feeling absolutely the same physically and no twinges of any sort (damn...)

Rrray - I wouldn't worry at all about going in as many times as you need for checks. I think it is much better to be ultra cautious than worry - during pregnancy and I'm like it now with DS as well. I've certainly had my monies worth off the NHS this year and don't care a jot!

Spripy - what's madmen? I need another box set-type thing to watch as I don't want to do anything at all in the evenings anymore. Went through several series of 24 and prison break when DS was born!

moosemama · 10/01/2009 21:53

Hi all, well still getting regular tightenings but not as painful now - so anyone's guess.

Actually I'm kinda hoping it'll all settle down for tonight because ..... DS1 has just thrown up everywhere all over his bed and bedroom, (DH is with him now and won't let me anywhere near him myself). So now I don't know what I'm supposed to do. What if I am in labour and he had a vomiting virus? Actually, I think its a case of locking the stable door as he was in my bed with me all afternoon.

Am really hoping my nausea and dizziness isn't the same thing.

I shouldn't panic really, we've had this before with him, he tends to throw up for one night and then be right as rain the next day - fingers crossed!

moosemama · 10/01/2009 22:00

DH just pointed out that this happened last time there was a school holiday, end of the first week back and the kids came down with a virus.

School secretary was saying they can't stop the bugs circulating as people keep sending the kids back too soon after they have the virus.

I feel like refusing to send either of them back until the school does something about it and adopts a zero tolerance policy to children who attend school while ill or within the 48 hr period after having d&v.

DS2 was telling me today they sat a little boy in his class down with a bucket in the classroom this week because he felt really like he was going to be sick. Why on earth they didn't isolate him and call his parents straight away I'll never know - he was still there at home time fgs!

Sorry, had to vent! All we need flippin need in the house is a vomiting virus as well as the cold virus and a newborn baby - great combination!

EachPeachPearMum · 10/01/2009 22:03

Oh moose- hope you don't get it too- that's all you need
Ours was a 24hour thing though, so hopefully it will go very quickly, poor lad.

moosemama · 10/01/2009 22:09

Thanks EPPM, he's just come through to have a shower (tmi but, sick all through his hair etc) and actually seems a lot brighter than he has all day now he's been sick. Fingers crossed its just a 24 hour one and noone else gets it.

Am feeling pretty sick myself now, but that could be the giant chocolate buttons.

Seems to have shocked the contractions into stopping though so think I'll go to bed while I've got the chance.

Midwife is due at 10.00 tomorrow morning for a possible sweep. Think I'll have to call and warn her about this first and see if she still wants to come.

stripeywoollenhat · 10/01/2009 22:11

loosey - it's a series by the sopranos people set in an ad agency in new york in the early sixties. it's fab, everybody smokes, the people in it are outrageously sexist, racist and drink vast amounts all day long (it's not a comedy though). it really is very good. really sharp script.

moose, extremely sorry to hear about ill-timed vomiting, hope poor little chap feels better soon

AprilMeadow · 10/01/2009 22:44

Hi FLF, have had my fingers crossed for you that your niggles would hurry and and produce a baby - obviously not done a very good job! MrsJB came here for Halloween and stayed the night with her dh & gorgeous kids. Pink came to stay for the weekend back in Sept and Scoot popped over to see us both Pink & I and i think SOH are off to Center Parcs at the beginning of Feb for the weekend. Have been to LG&T's a few times and cant wait to go back once bubba has made her appearance.

Have you met up with JL recently or seen much of JAM? We should try and have a meet up in town when bubbas are bigger and the weather is warmer.

MooseMa sorry to hear that your ds has been poorly, i hope that you manage to get some sleep tonight.

Good luck ladies x

fourlittlefeet · 11/01/2009 01:52

thanks April. Yes it would be lovely to meet in town when warmer. I see JL virtually every day as she lives round the corner from me. Haven't seen Jam for nearly a year as she moved away, but would like to catch up at some stage...

Think this is it tonight, tightenings definitely getting ouchy and quite regular. Yes, I know I've said it before but....

hi everyone,
hope your'e all getting to the finish line.
I'm now in post-natal land!!!.
Jack was born on the 4th at 0:37.I was induced on the 3rd because i couldn't cope any more with the polyhydramnios and my cervix was favourable and my fluid had gone up a lot in 2 days....so in i went. After 1 lot of gel and a night of sleep later i was getting frequent bump squeezes.Ended up with a 9 hr labour...failed...into theatre and tried forceps with a spinal block...failed...finale was a c-section...got my wish,a very peaceful, quick conclusion.Spent whole week in hospital though, recovery very hard and then just last night my scar burst a bit and i had to go back in to have it looked at.Just needed a dressing and i have to see how it heals in the next 5 days.
Jack is GEORGEOUS though . I never want to do labour/pg again, but it's certainly been worth the result and already can't imagine life without him...total bliss....DD totally happy and smitten.Breastfeeding been very hard, but i'm getting there, just no way do i want to give in and the support was brilliant in hospital.
So good luck ladies and congrats to all those who have popped recently !!.
happy x

fourlittlefeet · 11/01/2009 02:04

Wow! Congrats Happy, see you on the postnatal thread - the beds are all made up!

Good to see someone up- think I'm in labour and just considering doing a thread about it!

OP posts:

They are for 1 min every 3 mins at the moment. Ouchy but not catch your breath painful. Too much to try and sleep through if you know what I mean. I know when this happens you are meant to go to bed, but its worse lying down.

MissHairspray · 11/01/2009 07:12

Oooh good luck flf and Moosey, hope we have some more babies on the way soon.
eppm sorry about the car, must have been a bit of a shock.
Went to bed last night again thinking 'this could be it' - having period back ache and the odd pain around the front, but again slept through (apart from DH asking me every time I moved 'are you alright?, do you want tens?, are you just pretending you're not in labour? etc') and just up now because i'm starving. Am kind of relieved as don't want to have to call on our friends and family network to get us to hospital at 3am but the waiting is really getting to me now. All I want to do is hibernate and not see or talk to anyone other than dh.

Anyway, hopefully some more birth announcements soon

oooggs · 11/01/2009 07:34
