I knew about the grant bigcar but hadn't heard about the text reminder. That's pretty cool!

Saw the physio and she's given me some exercises, a lumbar back pillow and I go back in two weeks. She was very nice, but very young!

flynn1984 · 22/01/2009 20:39

Evening all

I have uploaded photos of my nursery...so far

Also just a quick thing I have now felt def movements from the baby also my gran saw a psykick (excuse spelling) before I knew I was pregnant and she told her I was 7 weeks pregnant (which I was at the time) and said the one who is pregnant will have a girl and the one who is going thro IVF in March (my aunt/gran's DIL) will have twins...does anyone else find this freaky??

borriebear · 22/01/2009 21:01

Just a quick question, I have my 20 week scan tommorow and they say I have to go with a full bladder...at the moment I am going to the toilet 3 times an hour and not sure how full I can make it without me having an accident! What happens if they keep me waiting? Not sure how much I should drink! Irational worries...yup all the time, can you tell Im a first timer!

flynn1984 · 22/01/2009 21:10

borriebear I wouldn't drink too much I went with a full bladder to my 12 week scan and was taken 45mins late and they had to tell me to empty my bladder. If it was me I would have 1 small bottle of volvic not sure what others would suggest best of luck for your scan x

Tee2072 · 22/01/2009 21:34

borriebear a the early pregnancy class I was at on Tuesday night I asked about this and they told me to not have a full bladder for the 20 week! And if you are going 3 times an hour, your bladder will be full pretty quick after you empty it anyway!

Very freaky flynn!!

Tee2072 · 22/01/2009 21:35

I forgot to say, the nursery looks lovely flynn. I love the Winnie the Pooh and Piglet!

June2009 · 22/01/2009 21:36

borriebear I usually start drinking just an hour before the scan and can manage 750 ml (that's around 1 and a half pint). Te scan itself is quite quick.
Once I had to wait over an hour and it was a little bit uncomfortable but stll bearable.
Let us know how it went :D

June2009 · 22/01/2009 21:39

mmm, I just said that the scan was quite quick, but it might not be the case for everyone, probably depends on how busy they are.
I'd read previously it usually takes around 20 minutes, mine was only 10 minues, some sonograpahers spend more time.

borriebear · 22/01/2009 22:04

Thank you for all your answers, now its just fingers crossed for tomorrow!

flynn that is very freaky indeed especially if the rest of it comes true! Love the nursery, wish I was that orgainsed

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 23/01/2009 07:36

borriebear they tell us not to have a full bladder at either of the scans at our hospital. Isn't it weird how it varies so much? I guess the machines are different.... I guess if you are going to toilet so often, you don't need to worry, just carry on as normal and you're bound to have enough in there. Good luck with it x

Glad the physio went okay Tee

Very impressed with the organisation flynn. We're decorating DS's new room at half term and aiming to move him in before Easter. Then we're just tarting up the nursery (luckily we did it in neutral colours last time) ready for little one.

Still feel rough. Wish it would come out as a cold.... it's all in my glands at the moment. Might take DS to BabyGym this morning.... depends how brave I feel!

Have a good day people!

borrie - at my 20 week scan with dd, they asked me to drink some fluid. At this hospital now they said not to. Even if you do need to drink something, I wouldn't drink too much - 500ml should be plenty really. At the last hospital they were almost always on time, at my hospital now the shortest time I have had to wait is 45mins. At the last scan we had a student helping and it took about 40mins because she struggled to find some organs (we weren't alarmed, just realised she was a novice), this time it took less than 10minutes as she was such a pro, but sad to have less time getting to know our baby, who wasn't moving a great deal sadly - 'don't wake me mama' as I prodded him again.

I hope you have a lovely lovely scan. I am still really tickled about mine from Wednesday, and had to buy a little outfit yesterday to celebrate. We have decided on a name so it is all now very real.

flynn - your nursery looks so lovely and cosy - I think I could roll up in the chair and go to sleep now. Mine is being used as a photographic studio at the moment, so I shall leave it to much closer to the time before I change it to a nursery and even then am considering doing a bit of 'timeshare'.

Ineedmore - poor you, I am starting to feel better this morning thank goodness as it has been a tough week with a bad cold and a toddler with the same cold. Yesterday afternoon, did the butcher, baker, supermarket, drycleaners round - when you become a parent we get really good at just 'keeping on going, regardless' don't we?

tee - you are having a tough pregnancy petal. I hope it all starts to get better for you. All the morning sickness has gone though hasn't it?

bigcar - thanks for the reminder

cote - I am doing just what you have been doing, trying to ditch the pink bits on the pram and trying to decide between green, blue or red. When we bought the Bugaboo (my dh was insistent as he loved the engineering) we didn't realise there were going to be soooo many around. I saw three Bugaboos in red yesterday in just 15minutes and our High Street is not a busy one!!!!

My dd is still a painfully slow walker, so it's looking more and more like we may need to sell the Bugaboo in favour of a Phil & Ted, but they need to be ordered in advance don't they - does anyone know? Or maybe a Jane - the spanish one - they seem to be quite nifty. Anyone looked into this?

sweetbroody - have just thought that in Hindi you don't have 26 letters in the alphabet do you? Is it a few less? I so love some of the girls names starting with S.

chocciedooby · 23/01/2009 10:14

Good Morning

Daisy5 There are some Phil & Teds on ebay that look good value. I think they look great as you can use as a doulbe and then as a single afterwards. I have been looking myself quite a lot recently as I need a new single pushchair for bub. I really like the look of the single Jane but the double looks quite bulky as I have seen some mums using them.
My problem in buying on ebay is that hardly anyone ships to Ireland and the Irish e bay is pretty small in comparison to the UK one

Tee2072 · 23/01/2009 10:44

daisy I'm am feeling better, although still some nausea on occasion. Mostly its just achy legs, but the physio's exercises seem to be helping!

I am so jealous of all of you who have had your scans! Just over a week for me!

chocciedooby · 23/01/2009 10:55

Tee I have my 20 week scan next Friday I am getting quite anxious about it now though and dh may not be able to make it due to work committments. I am soooo grateful he has a good job and has any work at all for that matter but I do sometimes feel that I can be way down his list of priorities at the moment

LittleSarah · 23/01/2009 11:39

choccie - Don't worry about the scan, really, I'm sure all will be grand. Hopefully your dh will be able to come, it's hard when work so often has to come first.

Well I finally got confirmation about my scan today, tis on Monday! Very happy, although no doubt I'll end up worrying about it over the weekend. It's so strange as I never had one with dd.

(I've been told to drink a little )

flynn1984 · 23/01/2009 11:44

like Tee i'm so jealous of those who have already had their scans, or just about to...I have another week and a half to wait...roll on 4th Feb!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 23/01/2009 11:51

I've got to wait until next Wed for mine... AAAAGH! Can't wait that long.

Took DS to BabyGym and we both had a real giggle so it was worth braving the unbelievably shite weather. I don't feel so guilty if we're stuck inside all afternoon now.... the joys of having a toddler when pregnant..... it's so kanckering isn't Daisy? Glad you and your little one are feeling better.

21 weeks pregnant today. Hooray for Fridays!! Woo hoo!

Hey ladies hope everyone is well. Sorry I disappeared for a few days, been hectic with a couple of nights out and trying to get organised for DS?s 1st birthday tomorrow will now try to catch up.

flynn1984 · 23/01/2009 13:54

well on my way to hospital...midwife wants to see me. Woke up last night in excruiating pain in my leg (severe cramp) and the pain is still there and now have a dull ache in both calf and top of thigh muscle on my right leg...midwife doesn't think it is serious but as the unit will be closed over the weekend they want to see me asap...will let you know how I get on

Tee2072 · 23/01/2009 14:55

Got my triple test results.

Downs Syndrome: 1:1002.
Spina Bifida: No actual numbers, but apparently even lower risk!

Happy crying and dancing over here!

SweetBROODY · 23/01/2009 15:06

Tee thats so dgood Big hug i'm so happy for you!

SweetBROODY · 23/01/2009 15:07

Its actually Gujerati and I think theres more letters...

TBH I've just always wanted kids thats why I have so many names that I like..

I think the hard bit is not knowing what letter it has to be on until its born and we know its Moonsign!

I cant feel very definate movements as well.. 22 weeks today!

Tee2072 · 23/01/2009 15:08

flynn do let us know as soon as you know anything.

Ineed it sounds totally knackering!

LittleSarah · 23/01/2009 15:28

flynn - Poor you! Good luck.

Tee - Great test results! I didn't get any numbers with mine, all just low risk no need for action.... still, nice to be low risk!

Thank god work is nearly over. I just don't have much on at the moment so it's dragging a little.
