I think i maybe the only one left who isnt fed up of being pregnant i just love it, bet its annoying everyone though. Still got 6 weeks or could be 8 i suppose left so watch this space may be moaning soon! Think maybe coz she is my first and I have been very fortunate to have not had any complications.

my belly has grown overnight, an old woman in the shop dropped something near my feet and she asked me could i pick it up, that was fun i did the legs wide apart big groan bending down manouver and when she realised how preggers i was she was very apologetic, dont know how she didnt she my belly!

Got a coat from new look just got a size 18 so its big all round but very comfy and warm. I have been so cold all the time the heating bill has doubled ooops.

i have lots of new facebook friends now! its a good idea anyway so we can look at each others photos, cant wait for more!

Got 10 little lambs nappies delivered today, all fluffy and white cute, cute, love them just gonna get some pockets now all different ones to try them out.

My friend and her 5 month old baby are coming to stay for the weekend, not seen her for 18 months as she lives in spain, very excited xx

america · 06/01/2009 13:12

I had my scan today and everything turned out just fine, the baby is of average size and no probs with fluid or placenta. So relieved. But, while on the day assesment unit, I could hear women in labour moaning and crying. I had completely forgotten just how painful the labour was. I'm getting rather scared myself now as decided to try for a VBAC...

Otherwise I do sympathise with all those complaining about aches and pains. I was fine until yesterday (except that I have slept around the clock for 3 weeks) but since then I have horrendous ligament pains, the baby is dancing on his head on my pelvic bone and kicking on my ribs which hurts like hell. No swelling yet so something positive.

mumoverseas · 06/01/2009 13:22

I'll be 37 weeks when little one emerges. I am having another scan next week, presumably to check his size but if all ok will be going ahead as planned on 8th. Am so very excited now and its so good to be able to plan everything. so glad I don't have to wait any longer as its so painful to walk now (SPD)

rosie, sorry you had such a scare, sounded terrible.

Still no news on MrsY? Hope all ok

KazzaL · 06/01/2009 13:37

much sympathy for everyone with their aches & pains, the last few weeks seem much more uncomfortable second time round. My PGP had all but gone away over the hols, but within half a day of being back at work yesterday I was in agony.... maybe I won't last another 21 days at work.

hope mrsy is ok and TBM......

Continued shopping for my hosp bags after having my hair cut at lunchtime - bought a pack of newborn nappies for the first few days and some wipes. Question for those with 2 or more already, obvioulsy for the first one we were really good and used cotton wool & water for bottom wiping for the first 6 weeks, but do you do this for DC2 or more or did you all just use wipes?

My search for new washable nappies for DS is still continuing - had a trial pack of various all-in-ones and pockets from Cotton Baby, but after 3 weeks, there isn't one type that really stands out as being better than the others or easier to use

dinkystinky · 06/01/2009 13:56

Rosie - sorry you had such a scary, and painful, night. Hope you catch up on your sleep today.

LittleSez - you keep on being excited about your pregnancy and your baby; its lovely to read your excited posts. I too love being pregnant despite occasional whingeing (which we're all entitled to do too!). We're all doing an amazing thing here ladies - dont you forget it.

America - glad all ok with the baby's size - must be a relief (did your DH make it to the scan too today?). Dont worry about what you heard on labour ward - different people react differently to labour and it may be that you just heard some people who like being v vocal in labour...

KazzaL - am going the cotton wool route again with DS2 (as DS has eczema want to do all I can to avoid no 2 getting it - who knows if it will help or not though).

And fab febbers (or should that be "flab febbers") who are puffing up - just means we're entering the final furlong, so not long to go now.... Keep drinking lots of fluids, rotate wrists and fingers (can help reduce the puffiness) and get those wedding rings etc off your fingers asap..

MarkStretch · 06/01/2009 14:05

Anyone else getting shooting pains up the fanjo?

Feels like I'm sitting on an orange.

spottyshoes · 06/01/2009 14:05

Blardy hell I'm trying to pretend I have the nesting instinct and clean the house but it's not going well, i'm half way through about 6 jobs but nothing is getting finished

What a scare for you Rosie, sorry you had such a traumatic night.

Glad everything went well with the scan america. I remember hearing those labour scream when I went in for a PE scare last time - it scared the crap out of me.

Sorry the PGP has flared back up Kazza and that the SPD is so bad MOS, hopefully it'll disappear immediately on the 8th. Interesting that you'll be 37 wks, if this l.o is breech again i'll opt for a ELCS and was hoping to ask for 13th but would only be 38+2 and thought it might be too early. Maybe not then

Think I'm at the stage of taking my rings off. I have some costume jewellery that I'm going to dig out that's much bigger.

I feel a thread title coming about us all feeling 'swell' - not

MamaGoose · 06/01/2009 14:08

Hi all

Am also in the swelling club but only my legs & feet which get bigger as the day goes along and then shrink back over night. I also have one which swells more than the other (got runover a few years ago). Have also got thrush AGAIN. [bored/itchy emoticon]

KazzaL - I'm a cotton wool and water girl. Errr, it's so much cheaper!? And I don't like putting chemicals on my newborn baby's bum - at least until the sticky foody poo comes along in a few months time.

Ready?! People are actually ready!? I'm 37wks on Friday. I've bought newborn nappies and maternity pads and as of Sunday, the baby has a crib to sleep in so I guess that sort of counts - more semi-prepared than ready though.

I'm actually v excited but so scared of the birth. All that nonsense about forgetting how much it hurts - err, no. I remember that it hurts like f**k. As this is no3, I'm hoping each birth gets quicker!

Hope MrsY is ok. Know a couple of people that had pre-eclampsia. One ended up with emergency CS but at least they monitor you v v closely once they've spotted it.

We are really on the countdown now...

x

MamaGoose · 06/01/2009 14:11

MarkStretch - I'm also getting shooting pains but I only seem to get them in the afternoon/evening. Pain enough to actually shriek outloud at times. Was wondering if it was brought on by movement in the day/baby's head bouncing on my cervix.

MarkStretch · 06/01/2009 14:15

Yes and it seems to catch me when I sit down on the sofa and the toilet- am assuming this is head pressure? [blank look]

Have text MrsY to find out how she is, sent her our love and told her we are all thinking of her, will report back if i hear anything.

mumoverseas · 06/01/2009 14:30

MS, I've got quite bad pains there, think its SPD related. On the positive side, I remember the SPD went at soon as DD was out. Hope it goes as quick this time.

rosieposeyxmaspuddingandpie · 06/01/2009 14:53

Thanks for the kind words all Managed to evade the internal but i think thats because there wasnt much to shout about on the contraction side on the trace and after the pain of them i am kind of glad she didnt ... I am so glad that it stopped though, was weird how rythmic they got and started and ended the same way - i hope thats the last of that sort of nonsense though and perhaps it really was just the baby pressing on my cervix - must have been something like that because as much as i get an awful lot of BH these days they are never painful just uncomfortable and these were bloody bloody painful!

Sounds like everyone is very nearly there with all of their organisation and hospital bags. Gotta say that after all of my saying that i have the biggest bag in the world half of the contents that i need to put in it are still on the baby changing unit and need to actually go into the case. I still have to buy: Nursing bras ( still having the devils own job tracking any down in a 46 F/G) and all the ones that i have seen are like sleep bras and not proper ones so i look all spaniels ears and i havent even started bfing! Also going to pick up a room thermometer and then if i consult my list ( made two months ago ) i think that really is it - im ready for him!!!

dinkystinky · 06/01/2009 14:59

Markstretch - have you tried sitting on an exercise/birth ball? I find my ladyparts can get a bit uncomfortable on sofa but feel much better when sit on ball for some reason - god only knows why...

Rosie - you sound very organised! Have you tried Bravissimo for bras? Think there was thread in the pregnancy board about bras for bigger boobed ladies - may be worth having a look on there.

america · 06/01/2009 15:25

Thanks Dinky, no DH never made it. I'm starting to think that he's not really too involved in the whole pregnancy thing. Maybe he hasn't realised how close the due date is now and that we will be four very soon. Better not to think about it, I'm in denial too... And I haven't even thought about my hospital bag yet. Have you already visited the delivery suite? I should maybe take DH for a tour... And yes, I have those shooting pains now too. And another 2.5 weeks of work to look forward to...

rosieposeyxmaspuddingandpie · 06/01/2009 15:35

He he dinky i am only organised because i took my last year off uni and sat on my ever expanding arse to relocate/plan wedding and get ready for baby ... i dont have any toddlers or anything so its not been too taxing ... am quite glad i didnt try and attempt my last year what with dissertation and suchlike - all the hospital appts would have been a problem otherwise! Will try Bravissimo as no i havent tried that site yet - thanks for the tip

America hang in there easier said than done i know - i think maybe everyone here is a little bit in denial, i couldnt help thinking last night that i might not be coming home again empty handed and even though i have just about everything done i still cant believe that im going to have a lo in just a little over 4 weeks from now.

littleboyblue · 06/01/2009 15:38

Afternoon. We've just had a 3 hour nap!!!! have really got to do some husework. Have a friend coming over thursday and can't have her seeing my flat in this heap - background, she used to work for me and my boyfriend directly before dp dumped me for her, he started seeing her before he broke off with me. She's a nice girl and they have a baby now too, but feel the need to make myself look perfect iyswim. I'm pathetic aren't I?

No swelling here this time, yet. The piles are back bigtime now so not only will all my little money be going on gaviscon but will also keep anusol in business (sorry TMI)

Neeerly3 · 06/01/2009 15:53

LBB, try germaloid cream not anusol, found it much better - mine are horrendous at the mo.

Cocodrillo · 06/01/2009 15:53

Hello ladies, at home with the DDs today. I usually hate an entirely empty day with nothing planned, but its been quite nice so far, and have got a bit of clearing up done. Nice to get rid of all the Christmas stuff at last .

Hope all is ok with MrsY.

I'm not due till the end of Feb so seeing everyone else has their labour bag packed and is counting down to CS/labour makes it all seem very near and very real. Gah.

Cocodrillo · 06/01/2009 15:54

Oh yes, I have piles too, lovely aren't they. Also swollen feet, SPD and generalized grumpiness. And still 7 or 8 weeks to go.

LittleMissNorty · 06/01/2009 15:55

of 3 hour nap.

LittleMissNorty · 06/01/2009 15:56

I also spoke too soon about not having puffy feet yesterday.....my ankles have swollen up a treat today

fgpl · 06/01/2009 16:01

Have just got back from the midwife, it was a stand in one and she was really miserable and took some blood. She was excavating my arm like it wasn't attatched to me and left a gaping cavity which was spurting blood in a horror movie type of fashion. DS was most impressed as he's into gory stuff at the moment. Have already got a massive bruise and it hurts like hell. Minor detail in the great scheme of things I suppose.
The midwife said they probably won't book me in for a section till I am at least 39 weeks. This has horrified me as my waters went at 37 weeks with ds and it was all rapidly downhill from there. I know it doesn't mean that the same will happen again but I will still worry.
Pinkpoinsettas on the boobage front I was looking at my boobs last night and thought they looked quite full, pert and pre breastfeeding . Was actually momentarily chuffed. This was all dispelled this morning in the bath when ds said mummy let me wash your boobys cwith my sponge, lift them up
America sorry your dh didn't make the scan. Things like that can really get to you.
My dh is insistent on going to his annual sales meeting in Switzerland when I am 36.5 weeks and I must admit I am being really really unreasonable about it. I mean it's only his job after all.

spottyshoes · 06/01/2009 16:11

DS also had a long p.m nap and I did the housework. Bad use of time I think

Piles seems to be the one thing I have avoided [grateful].

Sorry but I had to lol at your DS fgpl

MarkStretch · 06/01/2009 16:19

MrsY UPDATE

It's not PE, they are running further tests to see what is causing the protein but her BP is back to normal. Phew.

Unfortunately she will have to stay in until the tests are complete but is able to sit on the Day Ward now rather than lie in bed.

McDreamy · 06/01/2009 16:21

Am so envious of you guys with nesting instinct - I could so do with it!

Puffy here too today! Very attractive When was the last time you felt glamourous? I can't remember!! Just got in from the school run, so snowy and icy out there! Glad to be home without any bumps (apart from the obvious huge one [wink), unlike DH who glided into the curb just after lunch and buckled the wheel on his car!
