nothing here again .

I am ashamed to say I won real nappies on this site and gave them away. Would love to use them, but in our flat there is no way we can dry them quickly. We already have problems drying our clothes, use a de-humidifier, and have at least 4 walls that regularly go mouldy . Am very pro though and did go through the whole nappy lady site to find out which ones would be perfect for me. As a result I've been using a combination of nature comfort and lidl on the nappy front. Bit anti bins and bags too due to environmental factor; usually wherever I change a nappy there is a convenient bin! What we did do was buy one of those IKEA fleece blankets, cut it up into squares and use it for wipes. Face and bum. At the end of the day they went straight into wash (we don't use a laundry basket, every dirty item goes straight into the machine and then on - usually every day!) Anyway, the little cloths were perfect until DD was weaned (didn't fancy real poo in my machine!).

FLF - thought you were off honey hope your not feeling too drained after a rough night.

Slept 2 till 7, up once. Not bad!! DH mountain biking in the moors so will try no to labour and deliver whilst he's out on a 6 hour ride!!

Am washable nappy obsessed at the mo as this is the big scheme for this bubs. Have a varied stash of one of this and a couple of that - but all quick drying and soft as don't tumble [unless emergency]. Should be fun!! Have got loads from generous mumsnetters and secong hand sites. And loads of info from washable nappy thread.
Have had a mini tidy this am - house still a tip it will take a full 4 hour big plough through - but had to stop as sicky shakes thing going on. Will have a rest and see - sore throat etc so cold incoming. How boring!!

treedelivery · 04/01/2009 10:29

Tink - shopping queen get me a travel shampoo and conditioner for labour bag? Can't be bothered doing hair and face to go to Boots!!

DD1 having hoot with bithing ball - live in very tall 3 floor terrace so she just rolls it up and down all the stairs all day long.

I had to go for monitoring on New Years Day dog, I wasn't happy with movements. I find once I start worrying about it it preys on my mind and won't go away. Would be total bind having to trek into hospital but once it's done you can relax maybe?

I haven't felt anything since 10.... ahh it does say to do it when baby is active - I was starting to worry there!

treedelivery · 04/01/2009 10:50

I'm semi obsessed about my fetal movements. Dunno why, I'm cool about other things but this one is where once the seed is there I can't go back. Have to worry!! The comfort is that 20 mins on the monitor is no biggie so don't have to feel too big a fuss pot when I slink onto the unit.

Now, how much stuff are you bringing the bag? 1st time was easier as packed for 3 day stay as no idea what delivery would get. Am likely to get fairly straight forward quick delivery this time, but am staying a night as I like being looked after!!

I can't seem to travel light!! How many baby outfits you bringing?

LenniEd · 04/01/2009 11:03

I've got a rucksack and a small shopping bag (mainly with water in!!) for the labour. Then have got another bigger bag full of pads, pyjamas and baby clothes, nappies etc. just in case I have to stay.

Labur bag has a couple of changes for baby (maybe 3??). Other bag has about 5/6 perhaps. Have got NB and 0-3 just in case I have a whopper!

Will leave big bag in car unless needed.

If worried about movements I'd go in. No question. Worry won't do you any good and movements are only way bubs has of telling you he/she is ok right now.

treedelivery · 04/01/2009 11:23

And can I have a quick poll on Georgina, Elizabeth and Maisy?

2nd name Poppy [chosen by dd1 at 6 weeks after nana's dead cat - don't go there!]

Thinking Georgie Pops and Lizzy Pops are cute pet names for her! dd1 is Jessie Boober or Boober juicer [as she juiced boobies!! ]

fourlittlefeet · 04/01/2009 12:47

Love Georgina (Georgia was vetoed off our list but like that too).

GTAB, my bub goes through busy days and quiet days. Sometimes it moves alot when I'm doing stuff so I don't really notice. I got very caught up in the movements first time round and spent lots of time worrying. This time as long as it moves at least a couple of times a day I don't mind. Its weird when its asleep and you can feel a kind of heavy and warm lump in your bump!

fourlittlefeet · 04/01/2009 12:47

Tree - please tell me I'm going into Labour soon. This is exhausting!

Spink · 04/01/2009 13:03

FLF sorry to hear you are still getting niggles and not more. Sure it will be soon, and all that niggling will have got everything warmed up for you

tree I vote for Elizabeth, such a classic & strong but beautiful name too, and lots of really lovely short versions too - Ella, Beth, Lizzy, Betty!!

treedelivery · 04/01/2009 13:20

4littlefeet - am sure you are!! YOu have all the classics and I nearly said so this morning but didn't want to jinx you or join the 'aven't you 'ad it yet fraternity!!

Bet you deliver next 24-48 hours.

Ilizabeth was my 1st choice - good role models.

Am going to town!! Only to Boots and TK Max but feels rather outward bound for me these days!

MsSparkle · 04/01/2009 13:21

I like Maisy, Tree. That's a lovely name.

I have chosen Olivia if it's a girl and Finley if it's a boy.

Still here, 4 days overdue, no baby

elkiedee · 04/01/2009 14:04

We were given a nappy wrapper bin but I find the price of the wrappers (about 4p a nappy) a bit absurd. Now we tend to just put a bin liner in the nappy bin, put wet nappies straight in and put dirty nappies in nature babies sacks - supposedly more biodegradable but also don't have a horrible chemical fragrance supposed to mask nasty smell but actually just makes me feel ill in itself. I'd like to use washable nappies but issues of drying put me off and we don't have a car. Would be put off by not being able to get rid of used ones during the day.

I'm 37 weeks tomorrow, the point at which a baby will be regarded as term. I still think he's more likely to be late than early but I like to think of these little milestones. Tuesday's my last day at work.

Tree, Elizabeth - Eliza for short - was a strong contender for a name if we were going to have a little girl. I like the idea of giving a child a choice of shortenings (or the full name if she prefers) later.

rrrayray · 04/01/2009 14:26

Wow all you ladies have been busy

tree good luck with your trip into town, i havent been to town since early december, i did one bluewater trip which took care of ALOT of the xmas presents, and did ALOT of stuff online!!! Am very Anti spaces with lots of people (AKA Sales) in my beached whale size!!!

FLF Sorry to hear last night was a no-go..... i really really think your about to pop!!!! Hope its soon for you!! xx

Tink You shopping machine!

Went for a massive long walk with OH today (he had to to a run so ran ahead while i waddled behind) am now rocking on my birthing ball, next to the fire, with a big big mug of hot chocolate!!!

fymandbean · 04/01/2009 14:44

tree - I would go for Elizabeth or Georgina, both very flexible names.....

(or even to be radical Georgiana? that's pronounced either Geor-Jane-a or could be geor-g-arna)

Maisy is nice but I can't really picture a 30 year old Maisy IYSWIM!
