Is there a difference between a babygro, sleepsuit, and romper? I'm looking for newborn clothes/pajamas on ebay and just want some simple (cheap) pjs for the first month or so when we're hanging about the house and I don't need to 'dress' the baby... I put in 'pajamas' and came up with 2 items, when I put in 'sleepwear' it gets me things with the names above...do they de-note different things- will a romper, for instance, be thicker than a sleepsuit, which will be thicker than a babygro? Or are the words interchangeable? Or am I just confused?
I think I know that a 'babygro' is a thin cotton 'outfit' which often times will go under another outfit thus making it warmer/ protect it from poo explosions... I would assume then that a sleepsuit would be more a long the lines that I'm thinking...but I'm not sure really.

I did NCT classes first time around as well as something run by the hospital. Not planning on doing it this this time as I think main benefit from NCT was we were all first time mums and we provided a support network for each other. Most of us are still living close to each other so still have that group to call on.

lol Nutty
I am pleased for you because you're pleased for you.

DH often says he doesn't buy things because I never want it when he does; he likes to know a specific thing I want typically. That's why I'm a bit surprised to find the choc obviously just for me Though I vauguely remember last month him mentioning that he bought some things 'just in case' I wanted them later.

Just got back from MW and she was lovely, lovely, lovely!! I asked her all of my questions re homebirth in a flat, and she was really positive and excited for me. What a relief!

Mini-munchkin is lying at a really strange angle (kind of diagonally breech) but she says that's not a problem, as 97% of babies will be in the right position when the time comes. So I'll be doing my new Yoga DVD and bouncing on my ball to get her to shift...

Pistachio nut anyone? I've just polished off a warm cinnamon bun and felt like something salty... tee hee!

Bleuravin · 06/01/2009 14:54

Oh that direct.gov.uk site is very interesting! I've not stumbled across it before.

What's this I see about a child benefit? ... A little stipend for baby!
Living in a more socialistic society seems like it is rather nice

Yes, I just read about the £250 trust fund money. It certainly is a good idea and so helpful really. Amazing!
Nothing like that in the States...though you do get tax credit for kids when you file at the end of the year... But there's nothing set up just for the kids...

BabyBolat · 06/01/2009 15:40

WOWWEE Nutty I am so so pleased for you [dancing emoticon]. That is really great - really hope they can get you in and get it sorted and Kitty great news about midwife - look at you two getting everything sorted.

Bleu - have no idea either but would imagine the sleep suits are slightly thicker for night time cuddles.

xx

Poor BB... I felt like that the first 4 months I was miserable.. I kept thinking 'when is something going to happen?' You couldn't tell I was preggy by looking at me. I didn't feel preggy, just like I had a stomach flu that would never go away... now I'm less bored with it cuz Sprite's a kicker and reminds me constantly she's around and is just waiting to get stronger before she's out. I occupy my quiet time thinking about her tiny little hands and feet pushing and prodding at her poor mommy's tummy...

On a different note I've decided that what I REALLY need is one of those picker/grabbers that the council guys use to pick up trash from the ground...it's either that or I'm going to be cleaning the house on my hands and knees...

Well lets see I am due on Monday 30th March and I am starting maternity leave on... Monday 30th March (so last day Friday before!!). God how depressing!!!

Don't worry, Nutty, I am bound to be two weeks late and you will be early so we will be around the same time and sure!!!

I would like one of those things for when I am sat on the sofa and need to reach the biscuits or remote control without moving... and £10 is a bargain!!!

I really think the baby has turned you know (have no experience so don't know but and getting full on kicks upwards in to my ribs, have a lot of pressure in my pelvis, am peeing ALL THE DAMN TIME and and getting really bad stitch-like pains to the right on my fanjo (Nutty this is my new word!!!) Does that sound about right? Have done an internet search and these are all symptoms, but may be just convincing myself!!

Bleuravin · 06/01/2009 16:54

How cool is that?! You can buy them...
I think that will be next week's pocket money

Bubbaluv · 06/01/2009 17:10

BabyBolat, at this stage they can be turning dozens of times a day - doing somersaults and catwheels in there. I'm getting the same - not as much of a cage fighter as his big brother was though, or maybe I'm nust not paying as much attention?

BabyBolat · 06/01/2009 17:15

Thanks Bubbaluv, I would like him or her to just stay down there ready to come what do you reckon my chances are????!!!

God I know and it is always at the same time in the night - I can literally set my watch to it, 11.30pm, 3am, 5.15am (have to wake up at 5.45 for work so that is really ANNOYING!!!!

Oh so there was I getting all excited that the baby turned and was getting ready to come out (early hopefully - but not too early!!) and what your saying is that is unlikely . Again I would like to say I am bored!!!
