littleboyblue · 07/12/2008 11:47

I'm sure they'll understand times are hard for everyone PT.

I've got ds's cold. Bugger. My nose is blocked and my throat hurts, I've got a raging headache and am thinking, it's always bloody something!!!!
Nevermind
Hope everyone ele ok today?

littleboyblue · 07/12/2008 11:48

TMI alert but does anyone else feel like they are constantly leaking pee-pee, or is it just me?

PinkTulips · 07/12/2008 11:58

hope so.... the worst thing is i feel guilty as i had sorted the kids presents before dp was out of work and we have spent a small fortune on them (making up for all those times we had no money to spend on them at all) and i've even posted on MN that i've spent loads on the kids..... so she's going to think i'm just making an excuse to get out of it... buggery fuck

can't help on the pee leaking i'm afraid.... had trouble in that department when i was sick and was coughing so violently my pelvic floor gave in but have been fine since.

Cocodrillo · 07/12/2008 12:04

just popping on to bookmark and make sure I don't lose the thread yet again.

It moves so fast, if I'm not around for a few days then ... whoosh ...

So, hope everyone's doing ok!

TinselBaublesMistletoe · 07/12/2008 12:22

PT, I'm sure she'll understand or you could offer to buy for one and she can match the other with someone else.

LBB, having that problem here, I'm regularly having to change in the day Are you keeping up with your pelvic floor exercises?

littleboyblue · 07/12/2008 13:34

PT It's not a crime to put your children before other people and your not the only one who has spent far too much on lo's and then realised your skint. If this is a charitable thing you are supposed to be doing, they are not going to look badly on you for backing out because you can't afford it, it's not like your using the money to go out friday instead.

TBM love the new name. I am a bit slack on the pelvic floor, I just forget, like I did after ds was born. Think it's prob that and also this bloody UTI too, but also forgot to take any tablets yesterday
I get strange looks from the cashiers at the supermarket when I buy sanitary pads!

Speaking of cashiers, was in Tescos last night (again) and the woman on the till said "Bet you'r exhausted"
I said "No, I'm ok thanks"
She said (pointing to bump "When's that due?" (yes, she said that)
I said "February"
And she asked how many I was expecting.
I'm no where near as big as I was last time, I was quite embarassed as everyone then looked straight at me when I said 1.

TinselBaublesMistletoe · 07/12/2008 13:46

Try putting red dot stickers in different places around the house so that you do your exercises each time you see/ touch a dot.

at the cashier! Everyone keeps telling me I don't look that big, but I think it's the way I sit or stand covering me up.

littleboyblue · 07/12/2008 13:56

Posture definately has a lot to do with it I think. And clothes, some outfits I look huge and some I don't. Weird isn't it.

theHoHoHouseofmirth · 07/12/2008 14:47

PT maybe we could all help out a bit? What sex are they and how old?

TinselBaublesMistletoe · 07/12/2008 15:01

True, it's when I stand up straight that you can see how big I am, but it's not easy to do. With it being winter I'm wearing a lot of heavy clothes to keep warm (I have a nice new coat from Tesco, it's a normal size 20 and only just comfortable over the shoulders ) so probably well covered up.

littleboyblue · 07/12/2008 15:29

I can't even manage to wear my cardigan half the time, I get so hot walking with that pushchair. people must think I'm crazy walking around in this weather all short sleaves! Although I'm cold if I'm indoors, I'm not normal am I?

laidbackinengland · 07/12/2008 15:58

PT , I'm happy to help out buy something for the xmas appeal too if you need some help ( can send on your behalf or something ?)

KT/TBM , I too have a male midwife. He has been a midwife for 16 years and has 2 kids of his own, so I feel like I am in safe hands. He seems to know his job and I've seen him for every appointment which I think is rarer in the NHS nowadays.

Hope all those injecting/peeing themselves are coping with it OK . LBB - buy tenalady instead - I think they hold more 'liquid' than a sanitary pad.

I've been helping at a farmers market all morning and sold lots of raffle tickets for DS1's school raffle. I have just heard that the headmaster won ! People will think it's a fix !

I have an evening of work/online xmas shopping to do (one to pay for the other IYSWIM). YAWN!

littleboyblue · 07/12/2008 16:04

Hi laidback I don't really like teenalady, they're a bit too thick for me and I can never find one with wings, so never ends up where it's supposed to be!

TinselBaublesMistletoe · 07/12/2008 16:13

I don't think I put yesterdays needle in straight - I did it right in the back of my bum because I was in training and didn't want to go to the toilet again so hid behind a curtain, it was the only way I could think of to get it in and protect my modesty. I now have a lovely lump to show for it!

MOS, don't worry, I was trying to be clever, I rarely get bumps because I normally take my time and put it in straight.

MrsChristmasY · 07/12/2008 16:23

lbb I have that problem. Tenalady do do ones with wings, and they also have about 10 different thicknesses, so you can usually find a suitable size.

PT Don't feel guilty - it's not like you knew your man was gonna get poorly and not be able to work. People will understand...

Our day ended up much better than it started (we had four arguments about breakfast...) and we didn't even fight in Ikea, although his constant snipping did hack me off! I'm now eating my weight in 'Daim' bars and looking forward to Strictly and Take That tonight...

littleboyblue · 07/12/2008 16:28

Again TMI alert, I've been using always deo ones as also think there's a funny smell......
Might just be from UTI, but pre getting pregnant with ds 1 I'd get BV every 4 months or so, haven't had it since ds but will have to talk to mw in the week about that too.

mumoverseas · 07/12/2008 16:40

hello all, just back from a very cold afternoon standing in a blardy field for 1 1/2 hours waiting to see santa. Not a happy bunny and hope everyone else has had a better Sunday.
PT, please don't feel bad about it. Times are hard for lots of people this year and I guests my DH and I are a couple of the lucky ones (at the moment!) If you haven't already emailed StG then let us know and we will help out. I volunteered for it two to buy three presents (on from each of my 'current' kids!) but somehow she made a mistake and sent me too matches so I ended up buying 6 presents. It was worth it though when I read the message on the 'thank' you thread from one of the mums of 3. I'm happy to help out again as some of the others are on here. You mustn't feel bad about it, you have enough on your plate x

MrsChristmasY · 07/12/2008 16:43

I know the feeling, lbb but I find it's cheaper to buy sanitary wipes separately. Sorry to be dense, but what's BV?

littleboyblue · 07/12/2008 16:47

Bacterial Vaginosis (spellings prob wrong). It's an off balance of bacteria down there. They not the pads with the wipes on them, I have a pack of femfresh and the shower wash stuff too. This is really nasty to talk about this isn't it, thinking it's ok as it's not RL, maybe I won't come to the jan meet-up

MrsChristmasY · 07/12/2008 16:51

He he! Know what you mean!!!

TinselBaublesMistletoe · 07/12/2008 18:33

Sense of smell is heightened during pregnancy, so don't think you smell as bad as think you do. Others won't even be able to notice (when was the last time you could smell another woman?) But you'll probably want to do all everything to hide it as you're still exposed to it all day!

theHoHoHouseofmirth · 07/12/2008 18:41

Evening all! Had a nice day today. Took DS to look at bikes (we told him Father Christmas needed to us to help him check which one was best for him). He couldn't pedal the first 2 he tried which were the 12" wheel ones for 3-5 years (he's 3.5) but then he found another bigger one while our backs were turned and zoomed off on it. DH & I were both moisty-eyed! It's a blooming Power Rangers one, not quite what I had in mind though but hey ho...

I've been getting the mildest period painy type feeling today and yesterday both in my tummy and my back. This isn't the start of anything, is it? Unlike TBM I am in no way ready physically, mentally or organisationally to have a baby now...

littleboyblue · 07/12/2008 18:44

Thanx TBM I'm not worried about others noticing as know they won't been suffering probs there for years, just if it's another infection, it needs another form of treatment

littleboyblue · 07/12/2008 18:44

TinselBaublesMistletoe · 07/12/2008 18:57

THOM, I'm only ready in the sense I've accepted it, if she comes we're going to be stuffed! Unlike Walford General real hospitals actually expect you to do most of the care for your child (I know of someone who was refered to SS - in hospital with me, not giving any of Mum's secrets away - because they weren't there enough) and last time we ended up going to Babies 'R' Us on our way home! Does the pain feel like BH? It's most likely at this stage.

LBB, sorry to hear that Because your sense of smell will be heightened/ different it could be that it smells like it to you just because of how you pick things up - IYSWIM. I seem to get away with UTI's when I'm pregnant, thankfully! I had to have a scan on my kidneys and bladder early on in my pregnancy because I'd not long had a bad UTI, I can't imagine how bad they are with pregnancy too.
