LBB.

Do you think it's a good idea to use deodorised wipes, ahem, down there? Surely it could cause an irritation, which could make matters worse.

My suggestion would be to go to the GP or your m/w and see if they think there is anything you should do.

Just recovering from dh's birthday party, which was fab. Lots of people came and I ended up throwing out the last lot of drunks at about 12:30 (party started at 2pm!!!).

Slightly bored of being the only sober person in the room, esp when everyone else is drinking themselves silly on lovely fizzy wine (paid for by yours truly)

Hi all

Have had a manic weekend, had small girls staying over here and coming to play and then went to my mother's to see relatives.

My Auntie's boyfriend got quote of the weekend:

'I don't know why people bother with all these hippy birthing shit, like home births. Why can't they just go to hospital? I mean if your car's broke you don't fix it at home, you take it to a mechanic!'

I smiled politely and imagined the members of this board waiting in line to tear him to shreds.

Then took dd to a party this afternoon but she's exhausted so spent the entire time battling with my bump trying to sit on my lap. There just isn't enough room for my belly and a shy 6yr old.

Am feeling really uncomfortable at the moment with his head wedged in my ribs!

MarkStretch · 07/12/2008 19:32

(First in line was MrsY, fuelled on sugar and Ikea rage).

MrsChristmasY · 07/12/2008 19:51

How about - "Firstly, if you think that when I go into labour, my body's 'broken', I might have to break your body and you can tell me what it's like... Secondly, when my car's broken, I call the AA and they come to my house and fix it because it is more convenient and less stressfull than going to a garage. I wouldn't take my car to the garage only to have to work out how to fix it myself as all the mechanics are all too busy, and then the car catches a virus and looses a tyre..."

Hi all....
Hope all ok. Second the wee/discharge (oooh I hate that word) - Sorry it's TMI but it's a bit like during a normal cycle when you're about to ovulate and anyway, I'm finding the same problems too and just put it down to pregnancy stuff.

We took ds to the zoo today (Marwell Zoo near Winchester) - such a beautiful day and we wanted to get out of the shopping zones. It's not too big and we drove there so fine for me to handle. I do find walking too far starts up the sciatica and the stitch type uncomfortable feeling at the bottom of my bump. It was his first zoo experience and he was really sweet. The leopard did a wee and he shouted out "he's not done his wee wee in the potty" - bless those 2.5 year olds eh.

Now sitting down finally with a cuppa (and some terry's chocolate orange ) watching recorded strictly, outnumbered and then tonights results. DH is working so I have the sky+ all to myself.

Just wondering when I'm going to get the energy (and time) to write the xmas cards and wrap those pressies I've shoved under the stairs.

laidbackinengland · 07/12/2008 19:58

Good answer MrsY, I'm liking your style

oooggs · 07/12/2008 20:07

spent most of weekend in hospital

waters leaked Saturday morning so they had me in to be checked and kept me there - had to ring back for supplies - only went in with handbag & a book!!

Haven't left dts overnight so was very upset initially but once used to the idea I tried to rest.

Thankfully nothing else happened and I came home - please let this baby stay in til January

theHoHoHouseofmirth · 07/12/2008 20:52

Oooggs, poor you! I posted earlier because I've been having very mild period pains in my tummy but mainly back and am really hoping it's normal and not the beginning of anything scary but what happened to you musthave been very worrying. Let's hope it was "just one of thse things" and you carry on event-free in to February.

catstarofbethlehem · 07/12/2008 21:00

Oooggs - hoping everything stays good for you for as long as poss. Must have been hard leaving your babies .... Try to take it easy xxxxx

Same with everyone else - I watched some of that Growing Babies and think it's a miracle we've got this far.

McDreeamy · 07/12/2008 21:04

Hi everyone hope you have all had a nice weekend. Had my parents over for the weekend which was lovely. DH due home on Weds for good, it's been a long few weeks with out him. Off to the hospital tomorrow to meet my consultant and discuss the birth of my bump - baby still breech too which is making me feel v uncomfortable.

TinselBaublesMistletoe · 07/12/2008 21:41

Glad to hear nothing came of it Ooogs and hope you can hang on in for a few more weeks. Have they said what caused your water to leak?

swampster · 08/12/2008 00:01

Waddle on down to Sainsbury's everyone, Lansinoh is half price - was £9.95 now £4.97 - but offer ends tomorrow!

TinselBaublesMistletoe · 08/12/2008 01:33

Oooh, I'll have to get someone to go for me! There aren't any around here and I can't get to the next ones.

littleboyblue · 08/12/2008 08:00

oooggs How scary, glad everything ok now.

Was reading my pregnancy book last night and it says that after 31 weeks the lungs are capable of staying inflated which
I didn't know, thought it was later than that like 33/34 weeks, made me feel a bit better anyway.

So tired, had trouble sleeping from my blocked nose, luckily dp wasn't here so I could stack all the pillows up, ds was waking nearly every hour and bump has been going crazy!!
Hope everyone's ok and has a good day. I plan to go back to bed after lunch if ds sleeps

rosieposeyxmaspuddingandpie · 08/12/2008 08:35

Morning all

Ogggs, hope you are alright now and that your lo stays put for a few more weeks!

Went along for BP yesterday and was as id suspected, its fine but i managed to get a stomach bug off my DC2 which kicked in yesterday morning, no sickness just the other 'end' so basically didnt take any insulin yesterday because i wasnt going to eat and 'feed' the bug. Anyway mentioned this to Midwife doing BP who said well tbh you will be better off in here in that case as you need to be on insulin and a glucose drip or eating so that you can take insulin ... I said nooooo i cant go into hospital ( you know what its like, they get you in and you dont go for ages!) so i promised to eat and take aformentioned insulin when i got home and as long as the food stayed in my stomach long enough for the insulin to react against it i could avoid being admitted. Well suffice to say im still here and midwife did chase me up at 5.30 to check up on me (bless her) and i feel much better today. I am the worlds worst patient and will avoid being admitted like the plaugue - hospitals are fab and there for a good reason but i hate them!

Going shopping for baby stuff today so that i can get my bag done within the next two weeks as i dont really want to be doing much except keeping myself as zen like as poss in January (so as to avoid admittance to hospital before c section and i will feel better if my bags are packed as well. Im having the devils own job finding large maternity bras too ... all the ones that i have found seem to be like crop tops and i really wont look so great after c section as it is - i dont want a shelf for tits to boot any suggestions?

ihavenewsockson · 08/12/2008 08:49

Hello All- is it ok if i join in?

I kinda lost the last thread. but would be nice to stay in touch with fellow ladies with bumps.

i'm 25, have one DS already , he's 13mths old. DS2 is due on 26th Feb. so only 15/16mths apart which is quite scary.

has anyone done their mat bag yet or are you guys leaving it til after xmas? I'm convinced i'm gonna go overdue with this one so haven't sorted anything out yet.....maybe i should get a move on with that.

ooggs hope everything is ok today and bump is doing well.

theHoHoHouseofmirth · 08/12/2008 08:49

Morning all! Glad you manged to stay out of hospital Rosie.

Sorry to share this so early in the mornng but I had one bout of really violent diarrhoea about midnight last night. I felt a bit uncomfortable for haf an hour before, vaguely thought I might be sick but then that happened. I felt better pretty much straightaway. Do I just ignore it or do I need to speak to a doctor?

rosieposeyxmaspuddingandpie · 08/12/2008 08:59

Arrghhh you too HOM - thats exactly what i was like, i would probably see if it happens again then see your doc because if its a one off hopefully it was just something you ate - if you get another one though it might be a tummy bug and the midwife said to me that you need to be vigilant with them as they set off uterine contractions. Hope you feel better soon.

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 08/12/2008 09:00

Morning

HOM - is baby moving OK? Hopefully it was either something you ate and a bit of a bug? If you haven't been ill since, just take it easy and eat something bland like toast.

Hectic weekends all round then with hospital visits and stays.....hope you are all ok....Oooogs and Rosie

Welcome Ihavenewsockson ....need to add yourself to the latest list....

My appetite has gone mad and I am just eating all the time. Really had enough now and quite glad Xmas is in the way as a distraction......I'm amazed that my ankles haven't swollen up this time....I could only wear one pair of sandals when I was expecting DD.....that's carrying in the winter I assume.

Well all Xmas shopping is done, all wrapped up and sorted, all decorations up, shopping slot booked for 23rd.....

Suppose I should start organising for the new arrival...I have done bugger all ....did have a look round mothercare on Saturday....but I have everything I need (how boring....nothing to buy)...I so enjoyed buying everything in sight last time.

3 days at work this week, 3 days next week and the MAT LEAVE for 11 MONTHS

pinkbabybump · 08/12/2008 09:25

Morning everyone

Sorry to hear about your hospital stay Oooggs, i am a bit concerned that i have a leak also (am gonna ring MW in a bit). I have wet pants but am not weeing myself and it's not thick like dischardge TMI sorry . Also my BH's started last night which was really weird as didn't have them with DS, realised what they were thanks to keeping up with all you lovely ladies

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 08/12/2008 09:33

Pinkbabybump....put a pad on so if mw wants to see you, you can show her....they smell it to see if its waters (very sweet distinctive smell).

AFAIK, your hind waters can leak slightly and re-seal but you should always get it checked out.

Hope you get on ok

pinkbabybump · 08/12/2008 09:42

Thanks ImDreaming, have put pad on now, i have smelt it myself (the things we do lol) and it does smell sweet - think I'll ring the MW now

mumoverseas · 08/12/2008 09:44

morning all, rosie glad your BP was ok yesterday but sorry you've had this bug.
THOM, sorry you've had it too but hopefully it is just a bug. I know there are a few nasty ones going around and at my DD's boarding school (in Surrey) most of the 6th formers are confined to their dorms. Lets hope everyone else can avoid it and those who have it get rid of it very soon. I had a nasty bug in September and had to get admitted to hospital as I couldn't even keep water down for 2 days so had to go on a drip. On the brightside, it slowed down my wait gain which sadly has suddenly started increasing (large baby or too much pork? - not from Ireland I hasten to add!)
Question for Rosie/TBM or anyone else who self injects, is it supposed to hurt like hell around 10 mins + afterwards? Doesn't really hurt too much at the time (too much blubber) but afterwards ooowwwww.
BTW, congratulations TBM, seem to recall you have reached your previous best today? Yay, so pleased for you. You had us all so worried last month.

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 08/12/2008 09:50

MOS - I don't self inject Clexane but have had it after every op I've had - including CS....and it stings like hell for around 10-15 mins, so sounds normal to me. When I had DD, they injected me in my thigh at 12 noon and 12 midnight all the time I was in hospital. Am dreading it again as its so sore and you get so bruised.

Better than a DVT though

Calico1 · 08/12/2008 10:00

Hi all

Sorry to hear about the leaking ladies......hope it is all ok with everyone. I had this for a day or two at about 32 weeks with DS and it went away again until I had him at 41 weeks, but it really did scare me so best to check it out. I also had v strong BH from about 30 weeks - but nothing happened.

Ok, rant alert......I had a lovely day shopping in London yesterday whilst DH took DS to see MIL - however the day was ruined when DS came back screaming his head off because.......

a: DH had 'forgotten' to change a dirty nappy for a few hours so DS had the sorest bottom - so much so that he couldn't walk or sit

b: MIL had been feeding DS chocolate, cake, marzipan and icing so he was having a massive sugar induced tantrum and hence was up 4 times last night

Apparently it was all my fault as I hadn't told him there was nappy cream in the change bag and I hadn't told him that he shouldn't have too much sugar!!!! Doh

Honestly - do I have to think of everything???? Ok rant over.
