Morning Ladies,

Hope your all ok? Not read back the post from yesterday - but youve all been very talkative

Are you all excited for Crimbo? Im very much in the festive spirit - even more so knowing I only have to work tomorrow & im done for a year

My director just came in as a gave suprise visit ( not too keen on the suprise element - As I was on the treadmill & should have been working! ) but he came in to give me flowers & a boots voucher, so im going to treat myself to some goodies before baby arrives.

Have a good Tuesday everyone

Dinky ! My tights as belt invention hmmm... I wonder if I should patent it ??

MS, I was knackered yesterday, but feel a bit more energised today. I think Like you, I overdid it a bit the day before.

dinkystinkyclaus · 23/12/2008 10:36

KT - that was really nice of your boss. Enjoy getting and using your pampering products!

Laidback - you should patent it - genius!

laidbackinamangernocribforabed · 23/12/2008 10:40

PP - do you know what you are having yet ? I have loads of stuff from DS3 that I could pass on, and some neutrals if you want them ?

turkeyandherbstuffinggarden · 23/12/2008 10:57

hello !
second to last day at work here. Am feeling v.demob happy. Baby is gurgling away inside though and very very active and I can't get all the way up to the desk (and baby kicks desk when I get there so it's a bit off putting).

DH is at home again with DS today (can't go to nursery after sicky thing)- DS seemed a lot better this morning - he woke at about 1am and wanted his "pink medicine" and a "cuggle" - was clammy and hot and then came in our bed at 6am when he woke for the day so not too bad going given he was pretty much out of it all day yesterday as he was so not himself. Maybe all that sleep just did the trick. DH says he now feels a bit rough today (at least now he might understand how it feels to havemorning sickness and juggle a toddler ).

Can't decide what to cook for xmas eve but I'm liking the stroganoff idea - not had that in years. I suspect DH and I might be in bed early though we're both a bit knackered.....

NYE this year, we're off to really good uni friends house with other friends (some who have kids and some who don't). They have lots of space so we're putting the kids to bed, cooking stuff and just generally being together. DH and I are staying over so at least if everyone else decides on a big bender I can slope off to bed if it all gets a bit much (altho I suspect I'll then end up getting up with the three toddlers and the five year old at 6am when everyone else is nursing their hangovers) - am looking forward to it though as it's been a while that some of us have got together for an evening without the kids and with only a month to go before D-Day this might be the last time I get a night out for a while !

Must go and clear up under my desk - go knows what I'll find under there (a million pairs of shoes on quick glance - does anyone else do this or is it just me ?? I haven't worn half of them for ages !)

dinkystinkyclaus · 23/12/2008 11:38

Congrats on penultimate day at work Herbgarden - I too do the shoes under desk thing (currently at 5 pairs!). Maybe its a lawyer thing...

Come on ladies, you must have some more new thread title ideas out there?

dinkystinkyclaus · 23/12/2008 11:41

Aah, my secretary has just given me the most tiny little pair of trousers as a christmas present - rather doubt Squiglet will fit into them given the size of my bump...

turkeyandherbstuffinggarden · 23/12/2008 12:07

Aah - maybe they might fit one of ds's soft toys instead? You never know you might have a 6lber in there.

I'm not even going to attempt a thread title at fear of showing up my completely uncreative side........

MrsChristmasY · 23/12/2008 12:25

Afternoon all - I'm afraid I've only skimmed all the chat (I dragged myself out of bed at 11:30, and have just started feeling awake!) but will try and do so later.

Am gutted as got to The Pier last night after utter madness on the motorway and exit for Bluewater, and they had the chairs we needed, but in the wrong colour - boo! So we had a bite to eat and then headed back to the car, but on the plus side, I spotted a pair of ugg-style slippers I've been after for ages in the window of Accessorize, and they were the right size! So I am now sitting in a pair of shorts, a vest and my yummy slippers in front of a window. All of me is hot, apart from my feet - very strange!

littlesez · 23/12/2008 12:35

Well i am so glad im on mat leave as was sick this morning and feeling ill so back to bed for me, at least i can have a proper rest.

nye going for a meal in hubbys restaurant, its a comprimise as he can keep an eye on things but not actually work, although im sure he will be up and down all night!

RE; PANTS I have been managing in all my baggys as i wear them for work so not had to buy any new pants except one pair for smart/casual. had grown out of my usual ones by four months! so bought under bump maternity jeans because over bump were too big for a small bump. Still getting good use of them but of course arse hangs out of the back, very sexy! may treat myself to new pair of over bump now its big enough but is it worth it for 7/8 weeks?

hope i can keep some food down today, will drink lots of water anyway

littlesez · 23/12/2008 12:38

mrschristmasy i got some slippers/boots from sainsburys! i love them and wear them all the time, lovely and snug

pluto · 23/12/2008 12:45

I have horrible upset stomach. Keep dashing to loo. Not fair - only the second ay of my Xmas holiday but I iknew it would happen - been feeling far too well at work!

spottyshoes · 23/12/2008 13:06

Good afternoon! My 1st post on this thread and it's nearly over! Any of you had the babies yet????

Sorry lots of you are unwell. My chest infection is nearly gone - well it's downgraded to a 'nasty cold' now, which is a bit more livable. So no more trips to the hospital for me and no baby yet which is a result! I think DS is getting poorly though as he has been sleeping 19.30-08.30 which is unheard of!

Off to make MrsCY her cuppa with a bit of tiffin. Sorry, I haven't gotten around to the peaches yet

littleboyblue · 23/12/2008 14:05

Afternoon all. Look at how much happens on here now you're all on leave (or lots of you anyway)
I've just done all my ironing, took over an hour but was belting out to my Carpenters CD. I know, bit before my time what with her dying before I was born and all, but there's nothing like a good sing along! Clearly having an emotional day though as nearly every song made me cry!
Hope you sickies are feeling a bit better this afternoon or at least will be tomoz.

dinkystinkyclaus · 23/12/2008 14:22

Oh no LittleSez and Pluto - hope you both get better soon. Lots of fluids ladies. Spotty - glad you're starting to feel better; there are so many bugs doing the rounds at the moment its no surprise more than half of our group are ill at any one time.

I think I have come up with a possible new thread title - how about:

"Fab Feb 2009: the bumps are a-jumping, the mums are a-grumping - roll on the new year"

dinkystinkyclaus · 23/12/2008 14:25

P.s. LittleSez - for most new mums, it takes their bodies a while to go back to normal (as takes uterus a while to deflate back to normal size) so if you do buy some comfy stretchy trousers now you'll be able to use them for a few weeks after the birth too (was wearing maternity wear until DS was around 6 weeks old and then went out and got some cheap interim clothes before got back to my normal size when DS was 5 months old)

Though one of my friends was a really lucky cow and went back to pre-pregnancy jeans within 2 weeks of each of her 3 births - envious, me?

rosieposeyxmaspuddingandpie · 23/12/2008 14:40

Back from docs with serious ear and faceache-have acute sinusitus (ffs) but hopefully the amoxcicyllin (cant spell it) should take care of that in the next couple days, got some Gaviscon on prescription too - a big bottle!

Littlesez and Pluto so sorry you are poorly, would like to say its this time of year which i suppose it is but everyone seems to be struck down with the dreaded lergy atm

Spotty nice to see you back, glad your on the mend

Cant think of a new thread title but im loving some of the suggestions

PinkPoinsettias · 23/12/2008 14:59

I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ORGANISED THIS XMAS>>>>> WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED???!!!!

sorry. bad day. tomorrow is xmas eve and i'm still not soted, money seems to be falling out of my pockets and i've spent all morning alternatively wrestling with dp's car and ds.

having a quick cuppa before i head out again in search of dark chocolate...... our town seems to have been raided by some sort of chocolate goblins so will have to drive all the way to lidl. and still haven't gotton anything for my dad... eeek!

dinkystinkyclaus · 23/12/2008 15:00

Rosie - the amoxcil should do the trick; make sure you complete the course though (lots of people dont and then it means the next infection is more virulent and the antibiotics cant conquer it).

CalicoisCrackers · 23/12/2008 15:00

Hi

Rosie - I had awful sinusitis a month or so ago and the anti-biotics sorted it out in 24 hrs so hopefully you'll feel much better soon!

Heh Dinky - you should start a new career as a copywriter....I'm loving the last thread title suggestion!

All ok here apart from v grumpy DH downstairs - honestly he is such an old scrooge at the moment..... apparently I snapped at him yesterday and since then he has been sulking and avoiding eye contact and slamming doors. It's like having a teenager in the house.

dinkystinkyclaus · 23/12/2008 15:02

Pink - you're pregnant hon, give yourself a break. Am sure your dad will be happy with anything - even home made fudge or biscuits from the little ones.

Good luck on the dark chocolate hunt.

MrsChristmasY · 23/12/2008 15:02

Hey all - quick question.

I just fell up the stairs and landed on my bump (quite heavily) do I need another shot of anti-D for that?

rosieposeyxmaspuddingandpie · 23/12/2008 15:11

Hooray! cant wait for medicine to work and feel better knowing that it wont take too long.

Calico maybe DH not quite feeling the Chrimbo spirit yet

Aww PP you sound entirely too stressed Dont put too much pressure on yourself - unfortunately Chocolate goblins are commonplace at Christmas - hope you find some soon enough

dinkystinkyclaus · 23/12/2008 15:17

MrsY - hope you're ok. Give your midwife a call - she'll probably ask you to monitor the little ones movements for a bit and come in if you're concerned; definitely one to speak to the professionals one though. Take it easy.

CalicoisCrackers · 23/12/2008 15:26

Mrsy - sorry don't know. I'm a negative blood group too but haven't been given any advice about anything like that... hope you're alright.

Rosie - I think DH is anticipating his parents arrival tomorrow and their stay for 4 very long days. He makes me deal with them and act as an intermediary - you'd wouldn't think he was a 45 year old 'grown up'!

PP - good luck on the choc hunt - you'll feel better once you've got some!
