Hello lovely ladies, the new thread is open for business

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
chilledmincepiemama · 21/12/2008 17:04

marker-at in-laws so can't write much.

TinselBaublesMistletoe · 21/12/2008 18:03

Littlesez, the reason I asked was that in the first pregnancy your muscles will be tighter and will hold your baby in place far better. Get to as many as some of us have and your baby will be somersaulting during labour! Even with everything you do there?s a certain amount that won?t ever return to normal.

Welcome to the group rani. There is a more up-to-date list on the next page if you could update that one.

littleboyblue · 21/12/2008 18:04

Hi TBM, how's it going?

onwardandmerrilyupward · 21/12/2008 18:28

Can I just say that in your thread in the pregnancy forum, LBB and Stinky you are SO third trimester-y!!!! Grumpy bints. polishes halo at complete lack of hormonal weirdness so far today

I just ate a whole tin of peaches. I was walking around the supermarket doing the Christmas shop and I saw the tinned peaches out of the corner of my eye as I was moving from perfectly reasonable egg purchase to equally reasonable plain flour purchase. And I wanted them so much it made my eyes prickle (but I didn't ACTUALLY cry). I don't even like tinned peaches. Do you think that counts as a craving? Now I'm looking for something else to eat to take the taste away, having gulped down the whole tin without even using a utensil.

I also have a baby still doing back flips on a regular basis (2nd baby. No stomach muscles left.)

Hey, TBM, did you just make it to 34 weeks? Didya? Didya? Didya? I'm such a cheerleader. Who'd have expected this when your facebook status said you were having a 25-weeker? I know the on-off is a pain, but a 34-weeker rather than a 25-weeker is a result to be proud of!

littleboyblue · 21/12/2008 18:33

Hey onward Which thread was that then? Think I have been a moany old bint on every thread i have been on in weeks! was it the make the men do it?
I've been looking at a tin of peaches in my cupboard all day, picked them up and then decided I needed fish. I'm such a freak.
I'm really bored.......

onwardandmerrilyupward · 21/12/2008 18:37

yeah, make the men do it

I'm just polishing off a 200g pack of emmental. Very cross that gruyere is not recommended for pregnant ladies. Now that actually did make me cry a little, standing in the cheese aisle looking at all the cheeses which I am not supposed to be eating.

littleboyblue · 21/12/2008 18:42

Nasty!!!! I hate all cheese apart from mild cheddar. But that's because I'm boring
I'm counting the minutes to get ds in the bath and send dp to chip shop. Large cod, large chips, those cracker things, can't think what they are called in this food excitement and a pickled onion. Maybe some ice-cream to finish.....
Mint choc chip or a packet of skittles
19mins to go.....

About that thread, it was silly o'clock and I'd been on sofa for hours due to dp's wild boar snoring, and was so pissed off that at 32 weeks, I was sleeping on sofa! did it again last night too, gonna tell him not to come to bed tomight

littleboyblue · 21/12/2008 18:44

I'm canceling the scan to check size. Think it's a bit pointless and a bit selfish. Baby will get here when he gets here and will be as big as he is.

bunsen · 21/12/2008 19:09

Can I squeeze in here too?
I am Bunsen - DC2, due 21.02.09 (age 32 Leeds) expecting a CS at 39 weeks.
Got a lot of pains with the baby trampling my lower bowels and bladder! Little mite! Have been reading most of what you guys have put (not all 808 posts or I'd be due by then!). Love to see how you lot are doing and compare notes!

PinkPoinsettias · 21/12/2008 19:35

lbb.... i'll be at that party with bells on..... if i never see another mw for as long as i live it'll be too soon by far!!!

am in a grump today. our friend announced last night at 3am that he was heading home today... ok, fair enough but we had a party to go to that was an hour there and an hour back and had been hoping to spend most of the evening there. checked the train times and the only ones were 3.45 and 19.05.... we had to be there at 1 so 3.45 meant he'd have to wait in town for almost 4 hours and 19.05 meant we'd have to leave the party early to come home and drop him there. he had decided on 3.45 (yippee) and said he'd kill time in the pub.... then at 11.45 he decides that actually he wants to get the 19.05 cue mad rush to get out the door so we can have as much time at the party as possible and having to leave early to bring him to the station

i was really looking forward to today for ages and ages too as we rarely get to see these friends due to the distance.

good for you lbb taking a stand about the growth scan.... it's good that you're beginnning to trust your body and your baby to do whats needed without being scaremongered into unecessary intervention byt the doctors.

welcome bunsen and rani, how are ye both getting on so far?

littleboyblue · 21/12/2008 19:44

PP It was me that demanded they check size at this stage.
I just don't want to waste anymore time with people that doin't seem to know arses from elbows!
ds has been bathed and is now in bed, dp has gone for fish and chips and I'm gonna stuff face then get into bed, not feeling well, got the headache and heavy eyes that a winter cold bring plus ankles and calves are a bit numb so feeling a bit weak all over, nice early night should sort me out though
Hello rani and bunsen

SwampsterQuakesAtTheSight · 21/12/2008 20:03

I got a Next VIP sale invitation [happy dance]. I am planning what to spend the money I do not have on!

onwardandmerrilyupward · 21/12/2008 20:10

Do Next do cloth nappies, Swampy lady?

SwampsterQuakesAtTheSight · 21/12/2008 20:14

Just gorgeous twisty banana-legged jeans for my gorgeous boys!

And (belated) Christmas pressies for my nieces abroad - I can get matching PJs for a three-year-old and her almost 12-year-old sister - they LOVE that!

SwampsterQuakesAtTheSight · 21/12/2008 20:14

And Dalek PJs!

MarkTheHeraldAngelsStretch · 21/12/2008 21:35

Can I have dalek PJ's?

turkeyandherbstuffinggarden · 21/12/2008 21:50

Hi all
Just checking in.....
Feeling knackered today - think I might have overdone it, finished xmas shopping yesterday am (I was without ds) but really struggled round the shops (went v.early so I could avoid the rush but god it was an effort) - did some deliveries after including a quick stop off at my secretaries house - her daughters funeral is on Tuesday and as I'm off on mat leave and won't see her before xmas wanted to take her a few things- I know nothing will cheer her up but she seemed genuinely touched that I'd dropped in and made an effort and I just again felt helpless that there is so little anyone can do other than be there for her. En route home in the car I just sobbed my socks off .

On a more positive note, I feel quite relieved as I've finished the pressie wrapping and made a massive chilli and bolognese ready for the freezer. DH did though say to me that I needed to slow down as he doesn't want a repeat of ds's early appearance. It's only just dawned on me to be honest that this baby might arrive early...DS came almost 3 weeks early so we'll see what happens. My c-section is booked for 2 Feb but I've really started to feel this pregnancy and am v.glad mat leave is starting on xmas eve. I didn't think I'd feel like this but I'm ready for it now.

Still have a room to decorate...friends to see.....a trip to ikea......a bag to pack....baby stuff to retrieve from the loft....someone restrain me please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TinselBaublesMistletoe · 22/12/2008 01:28

O&U, I know, it's amazing to think that this time 9 weeks ago we were convinced this baby was coming! I only have 4 weeks to go if they get their way and do a CS.

LBB I seem to fall asleep on the sofa most nights, but mainly because I can't settle at night (I keep startling like a baby in my sleep and punching TBD in the face) when I'm at home I have worked out just how to sleep so I'm comfortable, I'd rather sleep there often.

Hi Bunsen, this is just the latest thread! We go through one about every 15-20 days. Have a look back a page or two and add yourself to the list - I think I was the last one to update it.

Herb, I'm sure your secretary will appreciate that someone has thought about her. Often when someone loses their child (whatever age) people avoid them as they don't know what to say. Having someone just show they care is worth more than anyone else can appreciate.

MarkTheHeraldAngelsStretch · 22/12/2008 06:34

GRRRRRRRRRR I am so annoyed!

I HATE my neighbours! Without meaning to sound like the most unsympathetic mother in the world, their DC's scream ALL NIGHT! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!

Their bedroom is next to ours and their 2 yr old screams and screams and I am at my wits end. Last night he screamed from midnight til 1.30am, then 2.30am til 3.30am and then 4.30 until DH had to get up for work at 5.30am. And they just let him scream and occassionally yell at him to be quiet!

And to top it off their alarm started going off at 5.30 am and they let it go off every 5 mintues until 6.15am. Hence DD and I are up this early on my day off!

I have had no sleep and I am FUMING

KT1983 · 22/12/2008 08:56

littlesez Teaching is getting more difficult, I do opt out for some of it, ive only one more combat class & then im done!
Spinning I have found the hardest as i find it difficult to bend forward on the bike, so I just sit and cycle relativly normally when I teach that now.
I finish on 24th - was supposed to be 23rd, but they decided to open the gym on Christmas Eve.
Im going to miss teaching my classes, it really makes me feel better & gives me more energy even if im feeling my most rubbish that day.
Im still managing to jog around the common & ive started swimming a bit more( although i find it boring) so hopefully, il not return to work with a complete lack of fitness. After watching Stricly come Dancing this year - I have a desire to start latin dancing next year
What sort of Dance do you teach littlesez?

littleboyblue · 22/12/2008 08:59

Herb You did the right thing going round, like you said she would have been touched you took the time to check how she's doing. It's so sad.

MS That doesn't sound good, does it happen every night? I'd hate that.

I had really bad night last night, was so hot! couldn't get comfortable and was up every hour to pee, there was no snoring from dp last night which was good but still didn't get much sleep. Ds slept in till 8am!!!! and for the first time in god knows how long didn't wake up crying or whinging.
Don't know what to do today, I keep wanting to take ds to the park as we're not really leaving the house anymore but I keep finding something else to do or excuse myself because it's cold.... The poor little mite will end up a recluse. Definately 100% gonna take him after his nap this afternoon.
Hope everyone's ok today

KT1983 · 22/12/2008 09:10

Your neighbours kid sounds like a bit of a nightmare MS
We also have a kid that seems to scream constantly, but he tends to shut up about 11pm, so we manage to get some slep at least.

lbb I have the same problem with sleeping at the mment, my hips/bum seem to go numb, very odd.
Then I need to get up & pee a hundred times a night, and once im awake, i seem to be WIDE awake, so end up coming into the lounge to watch rubbish on TV. I guess its good practice for when little Miss KT arrives Which i am getting more and more excited about as the days go on....33weeks today - Not too much longer now!

Ive got today off, not sure what to do with myself really...

Hope everyone else is ok? x

littleboyblue · 22/12/2008 09:16

I'm going to cancel the scan today. That is the plan anyway! But once I've cancelled it, it's cancelled. Having a mini dilema.

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 22/12/2008 09:16

Morning

LBB I'm the same....need to get out - especially now I've finished work....but its such an effort some days....and I can't face the shops (especially with DD). We do the park too....it helps this week and next as my dog-walker is on holiday, so I have a mad labrador that needs a good run and if her doesn't get one, I pay for it!

Herb....you definitely done the right thing....its horrible when people ignore what has happened....when my dad died, I was amazed how other people didn't know how to handle it / me....I make a point of not ignoring people in that situation now....however much it hurts and upsets, it so nice to know that you have your friends around you. Poor poor woman .

Swampy...I also have a VIP Next slot....mine's tonight at 7pm so DD will be in bed on time tonight

Hope everyone else is OK.....MS....can you not say something to your neighbour? OMG I couldn't listen to that all night.....its bad enough when its your own.

dinkystinkyclaus · 22/12/2008 09:17

Morning all.

Onward - I posted on LBB's thread when ill and pissed off with drunken/hungover DH (who is now back in good books and looked after me brilliantly all weekend). Now back to normal and back to PMA.

Markstretch - that sounds a nightmare. You could look into getting your bedroom wall soundproofed (costs abit but may well be v worth it - my neighbours had it done when the people living on the other side of them were raving alcoholics who had parties in their falling down house every night till 4 in the morning and my neighbours had a newborn baby - it improved their quality of life immensely). I think your stepdad is a builder or has contacts in the trade? Maybe time to look into it. You do lose around some space from your room though. Do you have a spare room you can go kip in when its really bad?

LBB - sorry you had a bad night, its definitely the third trimester. But good you're feeling more positive about the little one inside. Hope you enjoyed your fish and chips - havent had that in ages.. may need to suggest to DH that we try out the local chippie tonight...

Nkweto - sounds like you're suffering from the third trimester blues too. Not long to go now - hope you get some rest over the xmas break (even if you cant sleep, put on some soothing music and close your eyes and you'll feel better) and beat your tiredness. I swear by Mag Phos tablets (magnesium phosphate) to help beat cramps - if you email me on my yahoo address, I can pop some in the post to you (I only take them when the cramping is really bad and it clears it up really quickly) as have tonnes of the tablets. Ooh, crotch zingers - I get those too, not much fun at all...

PP - sorry you had to miss most of your party, its awful when you're so looking forward to something and then you dont get to properly enjoy it. Hope you have plenty of fun things and opportunities to catch up with mates in the next couple of weeks too.

Herbgarden - that was really lovely of you to pop by and see your secretary. Its good the funeral is next Tuesday as then hopefully she and her family can say goodbye and the long healing process can begin. I hope she's getting lots of support from her GP and local authority.

Bunsen, Ranirani - welcome. Add your details in to this list (copy and paste and bung your details in).

- end -

Had lovely day yesterday - made it to pregnancy yoga and then my folks (who were in London for the weekend) and my sister came round for a pre xmas gathering and gave DS a little CD player with microphones - he spent 20 minutes entertaining us with "Country Roads" and "She's so lovely".... left him seranading his nanny (who is on killer antibiotics now, thank god) this morning with the Ting Tings...
