Step away from the ImseVimse!!! Kittykins will deliver!

"Delivery charges to destinations outside the UK
If you are ordering from outside the UK we will contact you by email to let you know the delivery charge for your order. We charge postage based on the weight of your order, for all orders regardless of value - an average charge to an EU country for a couple of nappies or wraps is £2.20 but heavier parcels will cost more. If, when we contact you with the delivery charge you are not happy you may cancel your order. If your order can be delivered for £1.50 (our standard charge within the UK for small parcels) we will send your parcel without contacting you.

Please note, under the terms of the manufactuer's UK retailer agreements we are unable to dispatch Mother-ease or Tots Bots products outside of the UK."

I see Swampy has been in her element all afternoon...

However, I will not mock as I too have benefited from her wisdom.

MarkTheHeraldAngelsStretch · 16/12/2008 20:14

Will anyone come and help me with dd- I don't know what to do

SwampsterQuakesAtTheSight · 16/12/2008 20:18

For wraps, Motherease will ship to Spain from Canada. This is their international section.

Do NOT be tempted by the one-sized ME nappies, they are horrid. But Sandy's are great and their organic ones look cute (I don't have any organic Sandy's ).

SwampsterQuakesAtTheSight · 16/12/2008 20:23

Ooooooh that really is tricky, MS, how does ex feel about it/how is he coping with it? Will he be understanding if she tells him she would rather be with you? Or will he think you are the evil empire influencing her?

MarkTheHeraldAngelsStretch · 16/12/2008 20:27

Well he thinks it's a conspiracy but that's because he's a twat a bit paranoid.

I think it's because I'm pg and she's worried about leaving me.

It's normally me that goes to her for cuddles but recently I've had to shake her off my leg.

littlesez · 16/12/2008 20:28

Wow lots of advise on the wonderful world of cloth nappy then, thanks to everyone and especially swampy for your expertise and all the links xxx

I tried nappy lady but she gave me a birth to pottty plan but i dont really want to commit to a whole package. Been just thinking of getting a few different ones, maybe 2nd hand to try out then maybe buy more. Loads on ebay, i heard werent supposed to sell on there?

Ive started to make strange groaning noises whenever i try to bend down to get something! or when trying to get up of my arse from the settee, so funny. Hubby was going YOU OK BABE? for a while but hes used to it now, she had a kicking marathon today but all quiet now, its usually other way round.

I miss my hubby, he works allllllllll the time, boo hoo!

MarkTheHeraldAngelsStretch · 16/12/2008 20:44

Anyone else getting tit action happening?

I keep getting what feels like let down.

And it appears to coincide with a bout of BH.

MarkTheHeraldAngelsStretch · 16/12/2008 20:45

Littlesez- My DH works all the time too. 48 hours worth of night shifts this week

SwampsterQuakesAtTheSight · 16/12/2008 20:46

If they are obviously second hand, Ebay will pull the ad.

The Used Nappy Company (lovely name!!!)

MS That sounds quite tough. Your poor dd. Think it's quite normal for existing children to get more attached to mum when she is pregnant though? I obviously don't know this for fact as am expecting number 2, but could it be that she is afraid of being replaced iyswim?
Would your ex-dp and his family not understand that it is maybe quite a stressful, confusing time for her?
Don't really know what to say, must be very difficult for you.

PinkPoinsettias · 16/12/2008 20:57

little sez.... i made the mistake of getting all of one type with dd and although they worked fine with her (luckily) they were useless for my very chunky ds and i ended up scraping together secondhand ones for him and never quite having enough as we were broke and couldn't afford a whole new set of nappies.

for this baby i've bought a selection of about 15 nappies of lots of differant types in smaller sizes and will decide what larger ones to get based on which of these i prefer (ds's are completely unuseable after 2 years of him not having enough of them, besides which he's not potty trained and not looking like he's going to!)

i don't think the nappy lady is the best site to go to tbh, they don't have the best selection and will only recommend what they sell.... i never found their suggestions overly helpful tbh. and the 2 times i've tried to order from kittykins they've fucked me around to the point where i canceled the order so not keen on them either. twinkle twinkle and babykind would be my 2 favourites atm in terms of service and choice. bumfluff is great too and run by an MNer who's an absolute sweetie.

had the most annoying day... poor dd has had a fever and cough since yesterday and i had to drag the poor thing out of bed, go to the pharmacy in town with her, go to the garage and arrange for them to fix dp's car as he rang from work to say his car door won't close and he's had to duct tape it shut, drop dd and ds at my parents and go to the hospital over and hour away where i waited an hour to spend less than 2 mins with a mw who didn't even check kung fu panda's position . then had to go back and pick up dd and drive home in the dark and the rain with 2 very cranky annoyed children one of whom was running a fever. so ... why in the hell did i have to go to the hospital for a less thourough check than my gp would have done!

my faith in hospitals isn't exactly improved right now!

littleboyblue · 16/12/2008 20:58

Doc prescribed a different anti-b for this blasted UTI, was just about to take one, read the leaflet and it said do not take if pregnant!!!!
Called the ante-natal ward at hospital and the midwife wants to check with registrar who is in surgery at the mo so waiting for a call back.
Can I yell very loudly, FFS!!!!!!!!

theHoHoHouseofmirth · 16/12/2008 20:59

Just marking this thread in the hope I'll have time away from my Nurse Nancy duties to catch up sometime this year...

QuestionkidMerrilyOnHigh · 16/12/2008 21:06

Hi everyone - I've been a bit of a busy bee for the past few days and haven't had time to post. My fingers are all bone because of the work I'm having to do this week to handover to the poor lady doing my maternity cover. She's looking shellshocked, I think I've overloaded her with information. But I now only have 4 and a half days left in the office so the end is in sight.

Have you decided what to do about your DD MS? That's a really tricky one, I'm not going to try and offer a solution as I'd be feeling the same way as you - really not sure which way to go. Instead I'll send positive vibes to try and help you find an answer soon.

My LO is having a real stretching session this evening - he just took my breath away by pushing his head/bum (only a week until my scan to find out which way up he's lying for sure) right up into the top of my bump. Now he's doing the same at the bottom, I've got a horrible feeling this is a big old baby.

I'm going to bed in a minute, I am SO tired.

littleboyblue · 16/12/2008 21:21

I prefer low down kicks and prods to high up ones.
Just thought I'd let you all know that.

PinkPoinsettias · 16/12/2008 21:41

nope... much as i hate kung fu panda digging his toes into my ribs i find it absolutely vomit inducing when i get head butted in the cervix or a hand prods at my bladder. also it's a nightmare when i'm driving and he digs in at belt level as i can't shift position to move him without risking a crash!

MrsChristmasY · 16/12/2008 21:44

MS - tell ex-DP to bugger off and get over himself, if she's feeling funny about going away (for whatever reason) she's six and allowed, he is not...

PP - that sucks, I've obviously been really lucky; each time I've seen my midwife, we've gassed for ages!!! I do feel for all you mummies dealing with the pregnancy-crap on top of the looking-after-small-people-you-already-have-crap. Hope things work better next time.

lbb it's crazy isn't it, but actually, the anti-sickness tablets I had at the beginning of the pregnancy for the most extreme morning sickness said 'not suitable during pregnancy and breast-feeding'. WTF???

littleboyblue · 16/12/2008 21:47

Still not had phone call back. Thinking the risk of not taking them is a higher risk than taking them. Not sure what to do about it. Will call again in morning I think.

PinkPoinsettias · 16/12/2008 21:58

what's the name of the ABs lbb and we can google it and see if there's any info on the net?

SwampsterQuakesAtTheSight · 16/12/2008 23:08

Oooooooh I'm like a dog with a bone, MamaGoose. Instinto Maternal has nappies including Wonderoos and Fuzzibuns - not tried either but they both have a cult following. They also have Popolino which I think are Europe's answer to Motherease one-size - be warned.

SwampsterQuakesAtTheSight · 16/12/2008 23:18

AND Happy Heiny's I like the look of the Ultrafit. Look, fabby boosters!

I am thinking of getting a life .

littlesez · 17/12/2008 07:32

MS just read your dilemma, things any better? Have you told him what your daughter is saying, whats the response? if not i think you should ring and just tell him she does not want to come and see if he can come up with the solution, he owes you that.

WHY IS IT ALWAYS UP TO US WOMEN TO SORT OUT THE SHIT! MAKES ME MAD.

Sorry, bit OTT. yeah my hubby is working so much because he has just opened a new bar/restaurant. Its really busy which is obviously great but it means he goes to work before i wake up and gets back in after i go to bed January will be quieter though

RE nappies, think ill just try a few different ones as recomended and see how i go, wish i had some way of knwoing how big she'll be!

swampy I think its good you have so much to post about nappies, especially for all us 1st time mums who havent got a clue ( well might just be me!)

littleboyblue · 17/12/2008 08:22

Morning. Went to bed about 10 last night, not that there was much point, I'm so angry (and a bit hormonal) so hardly slept. Gonna google the anti-b's now asd hospital didn't call back at all.
