Hello lovely ladies, the new thread is open for business

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
mumoverseas · 09/12/2008 07:03

morning all, TBM, thanks for the further information. I guess I'm quite lucky in respect of the injections as I have no muscle, its all disappeared under the layers of fat so in theory I can inject anywhere! Getting a bit more used to it now and am just glad the stinging afterwards does not mean I'm doing it wrong. Probably sounds daft but the first few times I was so worried about the baby and relieved when he gave me a good kicking a few hours later.

sorry people are still having more worrying problems than me.
MrsY, hope that you get checked out and everything is ok.
Lardy, hope all ok and would just like to point out that 35 IS NOT OLD! I will be 41 im a few weeks. Now THAT is old.

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 09/12/2008 08:00

I woulds like to add (as someone who has just turned 40) that 35 IS NOT OLD.....

MrsY - check with your MW - when you have a show, it is usually pinkish and/or white. Also a bit early for a show.

littleboyblue · 09/12/2008 08:21

Morning all. Well me and dp watched that Growing Babies: War in The Wonb program, and as interesting and amazing as it was, it was also a little scary. Thursday night is the second part where they follow things after birth.

My dad called last night to tell us the new double pushchair has arrived, so that's exciting.
We bought ds's first one quite early on and kept it in the house before he was born, but I'm feeling a bit funny about the prospect of having this pushchair here, do you think that means anything? Of course it doesn't, I'm just being silly, but by this time with ds, I had everything ready and although I've washed some baby stuff for hospital bag, I'm quite reluctant to pack it......

theHoHoHouseofmirth · 09/12/2008 08:23

Good morning! How are we all today? Swampster, if you didn't manage to eat all your Maltesers I guess you could get them couriered over to my house today and I'll help you out...

Woke up this morning with cramp in my knee cap. Lovely!

35 is definitely not old. I'll be 39 on Saturday and have decided that's not old either!

It is DS's frst Nativity play today. He is a shepherd. I am going shopping soon for lots of tissues...

Let's hope we all have an uneventful (in the best possible way) day today!

herbgarden · 09/12/2008 08:37

Aw Ho Ho Ho - I hope it goes well and that he's a great shepherd - will they all be singing twinkle twinkle and other lovely things [damp eyed emoticon]. Can't wait for ds first nativity. My nephew goes to an all boys school and he's been picked to play Mary - he's quite a cute seven year old though.

You lot were chatty last night - clearly not watching "Spooks" - god I love that series and now it's over.

Really must get my head around some work today - I have loads to do together with files to close and put away before I go off on mat leave on xmas eve and yesterday I was a bit distracted with the horrible secretary news. I've now had my bagel and cuppa so no excuses now !

See you all later

dinkystinkyclaus · 09/12/2008 08:55

Morning all. HohohoHOM - have a lovely time at your son's nativity play. Swampster - hope you managed to defeat the enormous bag of malteasers. MoS - sorry the concert was so painful; was it one of those where every child has to play/sing something?? LBB - I cant even bring myself to watch programmes like that when pregnant as I know I have an overactive imagination and would be up all night worrying about things. I dont think its odd at all that you dont want the double buggy in the house yet or as prepared with as you were for DS to arrive - with the first baby its all immense excitement, with the second baby you're worried about all the changes that the new arrival will bring - and you're already running around after another child, so dont have as much time to think, focus and shop for no 2's arrival.

littleboyblue · 09/12/2008 09:01

You're prob right dinky.
I can't wait for nativity plays either. I remember doing them when I was a kid. Would always have to dress as an agel or something so mum had to make the head dress out of silver tinsel and we'd have sheets wrapped round us and sing twinkle twinkle and little donkey..... The memories!
Have a fantastic time Hohohoho

Calico1 · 09/12/2008 09:24

Morning

I can't wait for DS to be in a nativity. I live next door to the village school and they were practicing their lines in the school hall yesterday - though they are doing a nativity X-Factor!!!! So I suppose Joseph and Mary will be auditioning for their role - whatever next? Schools just gone in this morning and I overheard one of the mums saying 'the Angel Gabriels gone down with a temperature and diarrhea this morning' - aaawwww

Morning all, another school play here today! DD is a cat!! She is so excited.

Went to see consultant yesterday, the clinic was running 90 minutes late. When I eventually saw her she said we'll make you another appointment at 36 weeks to book a date - what a waste of a morning!!!!!

littleboyblue · 09/12/2008 09:29

McDreamy You managed to get your name back!

MrsChristmasY · 09/12/2008 10:13

Morning all,

I've had a weird night, as had sporadic cramping feelings and very odd rippling sensation going down my stomach, but cramping has stopped and have convinced myself that the rippling thing was simply madam having a wriggle...

Swampy - I'll swap you a malteaser for a mini dime bar...

Yes I'm back!!!!!

littlesez · 09/12/2008 11:36

Thanks to everyone re advise on boob leakage! yes there is lots of talk of different bodily fluids on here at the moment isnt there swampster

houseofmirth I am very very lucky re; BF support as my mum was a midwife and health visiter. So she will be helping me loads. She is fab and has booked feb off work! how wonderful.

Was speaking to my friend today about how she misses her mum who died a few years ago more now she has a child. I feel very grateful that i have such a close relationship with my mum.

chilledmama · 09/12/2008 11:59

been off work for couple of dats with lurgy!

I haven't even been able to check on here
nevermind...back now...how is everyone...is TBM still 'up the duff'???

Questionkid · 09/12/2008 12:09

I'm working from home again today. As always, it's bliss. In fact, I'm sitting on my exercise ball (£6 from Tesco rather than a proper birthing one) and I can't believe how much more comfortable it is than sitting on a chair.

Got a midwife appointment at 1.45 and for some reason I've got a bad feeling about it. I'm sure they're going to say my BP is high - maybe it's just because I'm feeling paranoid after watching that Growing Babies programme last night that had a big scary bit in it about pre-eclampsia. I'm sure it's nothing, and I'm about to start my deep breathing to try and relax a bit...

Hope everyone's well today. Swampy's made me want maltesers.

TinselBaublesMistletoe · 09/12/2008 12:50

I had more replies today, consensus is it's a school thing and people don't use their belly 'cause it hurts more.

I had a dream last night that I had a show, it woke me up and I'm so glad cause I don't want to dream about premature labour!

Herb, you should try being a tall girl at a girl's school! Didn't matter I have hair to my waist, I was always the man.

littlesez, my grandmother died before I was born (I was due on the first anniversary) so Mum knows what she missed out on, where she would have wanted her etc, my other grandmother is the typical MIL, so much so that at one point they didn't see her for six months! So Mum's fantastic.

I'm still here chilled! Although I'm feeling like I've gone over due

dinkystinkyclaus · 09/12/2008 13:50

TBM - count yourself lucky! I always got to be the donkey carrying Mary (as the tallest and strongest girl in my class!)

Re x-factor nativity play - maybe next year it will be I'm a celebrity themed, with Mary and Joseph having to eat creepy crawlies to get into the barn at the inn...

dinkystinkyclaus · 09/12/2008 13:51

Questionkid - good luck at your midwife appointment. Try and look away and focus on your breathing when they take your BP - mine always shoots up if I look at the machine/think about it for some reason. Will keep my fingers crossed for you that all is ok.

MamaGoose · 09/12/2008 13:52

Hello all,

Just saying hi and catching up. TMI alert below! -

MrsChristmasY - I had a really similar thing last week. My baby keeps bouncing on my cervix so I was worried s/he had dislodged something. It was very pale greeny/yellow but now it's white. I think I might have thrush. I mentioned it to midwife on phone who said it does sound like it and has suggested Caneston.

littleboyblue · 09/12/2008 14:38

MrsCY Hope everything ok. Take it easy

QK Hope all went well at m/w

I'm just about to go for ante-natal check with gp, don't really want to now, it's a 15min walk so is taking me just over half hour and I've really put myself out mopping the floors, knew I should have left that!!

Is this a bit wierd, I called surgery yesterday morning to make this appointment with gp (mw told me at 28wks to see dr at 31), and an hour later, the doctor called me on my mobile to see if I was ok?

PinkPoinsettias · 09/12/2008 15:02

TMI TMI TMI

MrsY.... i had the opposite to mamagoose.... mine started off white and thick and lumpy and i was convinced it was thrush but then it turned green and snotty for a few days. i think putting a few drops of tea tree oil on my knickers was what shifted it, still not sure if it was thrush or a bacterial infection but was pretty unpleasant

SAFE NOW

so annoyed, called round to my friends house after collecting dd from playschool and left my phone out in the car. came out and had 2 voicemail messages from the delivery driver with my carseat trying to contact me before he left the area so he could drop it off... and i was just around the corner! really need to start bringing my phone with me

i was always shepherd no 3 or innkeeper no 2 in our school plays

mslucy · 09/12/2008 15:06

loving the knicker chat.
My "discharge" (even writing that feels wrong) has been more copious than normal throughout pg, but that's only to be expected.
no weird smells, so no worries there!

I am sitting in the house of the sick today. DH is laid out with man flu and DS with boy flu - he is crashed out next to me looking most pathetic.

I have to go and see the doc to talk about the platelets first thing tomorrow but feel surprisingly robust.

I'm 32 weeks tomorrow - getting bored of this pregnancy lark now

oldkingcolewasaMOS · 09/12/2008 15:17

afternoon all, hope everyone is ok. Just trying out my christmas name.
MrsCY did you get checked out?
LBB hope your check up went ok.
Think we are all starting to get bored with being pregnant now and want it over with. 9+ months is just far too long.
