Hi everyone,

Frazzled, I hope all is well with the amnio.

Annabel is a lovely name and DH likes it but I knew an awful Annabel, so can't reconcile myself to it. We are lost for names this time, DD is Eve (so Adam is out!) but nothing really grabs me in the way that did. Boys names are particularly bad - having had a girl I can't imagine having a boy now - I'm even referring to the baby as 'she' without thinking about it.

Cravings - curry curry curry! Yum!

Seeing some independent midwives tomorrow about home birth after caesarean. We can't afford them but they offer a free consultation so I am going to pick their brains while I have the chance! DD was born by planned c-section as she was breech and whilst the op was fine the bit in the hospital after was awful. Very keen to avoid that if possible next time. Anyone else have any vbac experience?

Wow - 10pm - past my bedtime!

frazzledoldbag34 · 02/12/2008 22:07

Hi - am on here again. Feeling quite 'twingy' and achey - feel like i've been kicked in the stomach.
(not helped by being really hungry as hardly eaten all day). Just about to have some pasta so see if I feel better after that. Am still quite panicky about how crampy I am feeling - not like contractions but more like random period pains. Didn't have this last time. Maybe I've done too much today?
How funny a few of us have got Annabel-type names on our lists - excellent taste all round!
Going to try eat some pasta now x

frazzledoldbag34 · 02/12/2008 22:08

ooh detsy DD1 and I love Alfie. Dh says no

frazzledoldbag34 · 02/12/2008 22:15

By the way detsy thanks for the hug
When DD2 had a bad eye infection it was almost impossible to get drops in so the doc said to do it while she was asleep. I did manage it a couple of times (room dark, bit of light from the hallway, lift her eyelid up a little bit and quickly drop a bit in before legging it out of the room and hoping she didn't wake up). Worked for me anyway.......may be worth trying if you are desperate?

pulapula · 02/12/2008 22:16

Annabel is on my DDs name list, but she also wants a baby Annabel doll so maybe thats what made her think of the name lol.

Frazzled- try to rest and take it easy. Any bad pains and phone your mw.

llareggub · 02/12/2008 22:19

My son wants to call our baby after his childminder's children!

detsy · 02/12/2008 22:26

frazz isn't cramping "normal" after amnio, I'm sure I've read that somewhere. Really feel for you, I'd be crap at anything like that as am prone to being a panic merchant. I suppose all you can do is rest up - I know you are supposed to rest for a few days - have you got stuff sorted for tomo with DH and DDs - don't be charging about! As you say the risk is low so try to chill and be good - ie don't move off sofa/bed

frazzledoldbag34 · 02/12/2008 22:27

Thanks pula. Am just such a worrier - keep feeling like I'm going to burst into tears at any moment. Might just go to bed with an electric blanket on and cosy pj's to make me feel better.
Will def phone the labour suite if things get worse, but I'm not having any 'contractions' or bleeding or anything horrific. They did warn me about cramping for 48 hrs as a possibility, but because I only had cramps for a couple of hours last time I expected it to be the same this time and because it's not I'm terrified there must be something wrong.

Need to give myself a shake and stop being an idiot.
It'll be fine
It'll be fine
It'll be fine

Ok, so for distraction here are the other girls names I like:
Christabel, Lydia, Scarlett, Felicity, Allegra for a girl (DH likes Mabel and Martha !)
Boys - can't think of any except Rhuaridh (Rory)
Don't know.

frazzledoldbag34 · 02/12/2008 22:29

Oh yes and he also likes (wait for it) - MORAG!
Which just makes me think Mooooooo..........sorry to any Morag's reading this.

detsy · 02/12/2008 22:31

Might try the asleep drops tomo if still on them but doubt she would stay asleep - she'd be up in a flash saying up, up up - after batting my hand away in a fit of temper (Goodness where she gets it from.... )

Spangle just finished the last of your chocs and two mini mince pies and a big mug of hot choc. Don't think I really needed any of that but am home alone and stuffing face..... How are you - no more frightening episodes I hope

Gosh I wish I had only put on a few pounds, I've stacked on a huge load of weight. Keep looking at my Leg Magic (just looking mind you!!)

frazzledoldbag34 · 02/12/2008 22:33

Lucy is lovely by the way detsy - I know a Lucy and a Lucie and they are both gorgeous little girls. Quite feisty but super-cute!
And yes, of course you're right it is 'normal' to have some cramping and I'm just being a big blouse about it.

LoobyLou36 · 02/12/2008 22:34

Evening ladies. I'm feeling lots better than yesterday have actually managed to eat a plain jacket potato and keep it down (sorry TMI).

Still feel very weak and faint but have decided to go back to work tommorrow, can't afford much more time off.

Have lost 4lbs - not a diet I would recommend.

detsy · 02/12/2008 22:36

Frazz - think pjs and bed are good idea. Cry if you want hun, you'll feel better. Being strict and pragmatic )and hopefully helpful [hmm} ) there is sod all you can do about it but rest. Am sure its all ok but completely understand the worry - as they say all pgncys are different so no reason why the cramps mean anything bad this time. Go and get snuggly in bed and talk tomo when you'll feel better

Just googled which I'm sure you have anyway but mild cramping and some spotting are normal - you can take paracetemol too.
Off to bed with you matey

LoobyLou36 · 02/12/2008 22:40

frazzle I agree go and cuddle up in bed. Try not to worry.

frazzledoldbag34 · 02/12/2008 22:40

Actually I quite like Martha.........

Spangle oh god, I read about your bleeding episode - poor you, how completely terrifying. Hope its all settled down now and it was just one of those random things?

rek21 - am with you regarding curry. Had a fab one in London at the weekend - wasn't really craving it before then but it was so good I'd love some more...............might have to do that for dinner tomorrow. (need to do a big supermarket shop first though (boo] - perhaps take away would be better???
Am not in the mood for traipsing round Sainsburys with DD2 tomorrow. Planning to stay in, watch Peppa Pig, read stories to DD, do NO WORK at all, and eat scones and drink tea with my lovely SIL who is popping in.

frazzledoldbag34 · 02/12/2008 22:42

Crossed posts there.
Am off to bed now.
Night ladies, thanks for the chat. You always make me feel a bit better
Sleep tight. x

detsy · 02/12/2008 22:45

Dandy - Leg Magic is one of those supposed womder machines that you get from the likes of QVC (I have several of these wonders all languishing in the cupboard :O) You know the ones "in 8 weeks you can lose 2 dress sizes...bla bla bla"

Oh forgot I'd said I'd post my double buggy rear facing searches on here - will do itnow

Glasgow I know but shows the brand that I lost!

SpangleMaker · 02/12/2008 23:12

Evening all, quick post as I'm off to bed (already been asleep on the sofa).

Frazzled detsy's right - off to bed & feet up tomorrow is a good plan. I've read stuff on here about people being crampy after CVS & amnio and I got the impression it's very common. Good luck for the results.

By the way I'd give Sainsbos a miss tomorrow: no idea what caused my bleeding but it happened the morning after pushing a heavy trolley round Sainsbury's then lifting some of the heavy bags - could feel a few pains at side of bump but assumed they were just muscle twinges. It's almost certainly unrelated but for peace of mind etc...

(By the way I've nothing against Sainsbury's, I'm sure the effect would've been the same with any supermarket )

Detsy I've been scoffing chocs - bought some Lindor ones the other day and I've finished the lot DH is really disappointed!

Night all x

detsy · 02/12/2008 23:20

Night girls - off to bed too x
Agree about supermarket shopping tomo - consider yourself told off Frazz - can you not do it on line if its desperate?

detsy · 03/12/2008 09:39

Morning Frazzled how you feeling?

Momino · 03/12/2008 09:50

morning all.
Frazzled, hope you're feeling better today and going to relax in front of Peppa pig .

looby, glad you're feeling a little better and hope you can eat a bit more today. tummy bugs are not fun .

i'm working today, DDs at nursery, house is cold. i'm really into cheese slices and have just had and emmental and gherkin sandwich with my milky coffee. nice.

like all the names everyone's mentioned. I have no clue on names but will tell you all the ones we can't use (because DH doesn't like or already used by my fam members - have 24 nieces/nephews so all good names used up):

Harriet and Allegra as well, Saffron (would clash with dd1 India!), Hadley - this one annoys me as I had it on a list since very young (did you guys to this?), think my sis spotted it and has put it on her list for her last three pregnancies so feel I can't use it as she's publicly said it's her no. 1 choice. She has 2 boys now and no3 due this fri. I'm meanly hoping she has a boy! For boys, still unsure whether we'd be brave enough for Atticus or Ptolomy, Fergus, Seamus (friends hated that one), Luca and love August/Gus which is my late dad's name but already used by cousin.

Well that was an exhausting paragraph, time to do a little work, I think.

Hope you're all well.
