Just had a skim through to catch up. Welcome to those who are new.

re: being due around 16th May and that being a dull weekend - it was the bank holiday weekend, were many of us either away or relaxing at home? That could explain it!

Love the new list, thank you very much for the hard work.

Jael · 28/11/2008 16:28

I'm definitely going to have to stop buying my woman's real life stories mags. I cannot read a sad story without completely blarting and bawling my eyes out! I've never been this emotional in my life!

Jael

FiKelly · 28/11/2008 16:39

llareggub · 28/11/2008 16:41

Jael I really know what you mean! I fought back the tears today on the phone ordering DH's christmas present. What a wuss I am these days!

Hi all

LoobyLou Thanks for kind comments about post birth photo - think was just on the moon that I'd done it!

Spangle hope you get this message tonight - do you want to email me on
[email protected] to arrange a time and place for coffee tomo or give me your number. Won't be on here again tonight as am off to party. I'm easy about time and place - Costa or Nero but I "think" i know
where Costa is!!

Welcome to the newbies as well - have a good Friday and talk soon x

detsy · 28/11/2008 17:45

Oh and whoever was asking about double rear facing buggies - I'll compile a load of links and put them on here sometime this weekend - some really good ones. Just don't think DD at just 18 months will hang on to a trike type seat that well??

nauseous · 28/11/2008 17:51

Dandy Lanzarote sounds wonderful!! Not sure from your message but sounds like good news afoot re your work.

Also have good mat leave news - just been told I can go back to work 2 days per week after maternity leave!

Am ecstatic. Hopefully it will be just enough work to keep me sane. Will worry about money later.... . Although if I could not bother at all that would be ideal - but am still pretty happy!

Look forward to hearing all about the buggies, Detsy.

agooboo · 28/11/2008 18:06

Hello!

Went for late 12 week scan today - everything fine and functioning. The sonographer was fab and she took us through all the organs and was really thorough. She also said that it is a GIRL!!! I am over the moon - sooo excited! She said she could see the three lines and that she was 70% certain so will double check at 20 week scan. Having said that I went out and bought PINK CLOTHES this afternoon - couldn't help myself!! Someone should really tell me to calm down!

Going to a posh restaurant tonight for hubby's bday. He's well up for it but I'm at the stage of normal clothes too tight and mat clothes too big so feeling fat and nothing to wear!

Anyway - was desperate to share my news with you all. We won't be telling anyone in 'real life' iykwim - going to keep it to ourselves.

RE: rear facing double buggies - what about First wheels double buggies, they are rear/front/ facing and you can have one or other facing different ways -
here

someone may have already suggested - sorry if it's already been posted

rek21 - you shouldn't have to pay for gaviscon or similar you can get it on prescription.

nauseous · 28/11/2008 18:18

Agooboo That's fantastic news! I would have gone and splurged as well.

Hope you can find a chunky cardi or similiar to cover up with tonight. Or else just let it all hang out - you've got a great excuse after all!

agooboo · 28/11/2008 18:25

nauseous It's gonna have to hang out!
Hope there is something on the menu I fancy - do restaurants do S+V chipsticks?!

EmmalinaC · 28/11/2008 18:36

Hello! And welcome Rek21.

I've got my parents-in-law staying this week - they're downstairs decorating our living room, bless them! This means I have to keep sneaking onto mumsnet and have barely had a chance to catch up with all this chatter. MIL has just made me a cup of tea so I best go and drink it but will be back later...

Jael lol at your womens mag real life stories. I cry ALL the time at the moment!

SpangleMaker · 28/11/2008 19:28

agooboo congrats on your scan! I would have been the same & just have to rush out and buy something.

S&V chipsticks... I really fancy some now! Just tried to ring DH to get him to bring something nice back for tea but he's left his mobile here, and it's far too cold and foggy to venture outside.

Momino I'm nearly 18w and not 100% sure if I can feel movements. I sometimes have a vague feeling of something shifting about inside but I wouldn't describe it as fluttering like many people do. And I don't feel anything when I lie down flat or when I'm in bed, only ever when I'm sitting up or lean forward (perhaps I'm squishing it?!). 20w scan is on 11 Dec & I'm counting down the days.

Dandy glad you enjoyed Lanzarote. We went in Jan & really enjoyed it.

Detsy enjoy your party. I'll email you this evening.

alapala · 28/11/2008 19:42

Hooray for the weekend!
I've had the busiest week, and done about 100 things, so of course my misery-guts boss picks up on the ONE thing I haven't done and had a right moan. I snapped at him - the nanny had to get here early today (thanks to his meetings) so must leave early - i'm off! will face the music on Monday. DH says I should start maternity leave really early to get away from him, but I think I should save it for after.. lets see.

frazzled well done for deciding on amnio. V curious to hear how it goes, tho think I have reconciled myself with the risk and won't bother.

It's freezing here. Cloudless nights and the freezing air just blows off the mountians. Looks lovely in the day though, all sunny with snow-caps in the distance.

FiKelly · 28/11/2008 20:19

Hiya to our new ones

spangle I just started to feel movement last weekend ( i don't think I felt it this early last time) and it doesn't feel like fluttering to me at the moment. My LO seems to be most active when I head off to bed after 11pm most nights. For me the movement feels more like a gentle pummelling/massage coming from the inside & other times kinda like when you drive over a hill and leave your tummy behind for a split second?!

agooboo YAY on your scan. How exciting It will be interesting to see whether I'm also having a girl (my gut instinct). Just out of interest have you been off meat (unless in casseroles/soups/smothered in gravy) & mad on potatoes, crunchy apples, cheese & egg mayo sandwiches? These have been my main fancies (apart from freshly made salted popcorn).

EmmalinaC · 28/11/2008 20:26

alapala whereabouts are you? It sounds beautiful. London is miserable in November.

Not really sure if I've felt any movement yet (I'm 17+4). Occasionally I think there's something but it's still that 'could be wind' sensation.

agooboo Congratulations! Your first DD I think? So you have an excuse to buy LOADS.

Jael · 28/11/2008 21:02

I was going to say the same to rek21. You get free prescriptions in pregnancy, and for 12 months after the baby is born.

Jael X

Momino · 28/11/2008 22:14

Hi all.
spangle, thanks for your reassurance, it's the same with me. when i'm lying still, nothing. i think i may feel something when I'm sitting but not sure. and if I'm not sure what fetal movement feels like in the 3rd pregnancy, i must be in trouble .

EmmalinaC · 28/11/2008 22:17

Very quiet on here tonight. Friday night parties?!

I'm off to bed now. We're going to a wedding in Suffolk on Sunday which means leaving DD with Granny and Grandpa and spending TWO nights in a lovely hotel. I am planning to sneak off to bed early, using pregnancy as an excuse, to watch I'm a Celeb from my four-poster!

Hope you all have lovely relaxing weekends.

xx

flippineck · 28/11/2008 22:22

Momino - I'm 17 weeks today and still not certain that I've felt anything either. With DD I'd already been feeling stuff for about 10 days by now. Anyway, this time the placenta is anterior so is cushioning a lot of the movements.

My heartburn has started today as well. Luckily I've got some Gaviscon left from before, but have no hesitation to get more on prescription. Can't stand the stuff, and struggle to swallow it - but it really does work.

Momino · 28/11/2008 22:39

yes, it is quiet on here. sitting in front of the fire, just watched IT crowd, very funny. now, about to wrap a birthday gift for 3 year's bday party tomorrow.

and going to have another piece of dominoes (we couldn't be bothered to cook tonight) before the heartburn sets in with me as well. i sympathise with the lot of you antacid consumers.

flippineck, glad I'm not the only one. i just wish i wouldn't worry about things like this. i'm sure all is well since i have no other symptoms anything is wrong. maybe I'll feel a flutter tonight.

Momino · 28/11/2008 22:42

going to sign off now as going to bed after wrapping gift [yawn].
hope you're all getting some good rest.xx
