Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hope all well LenniEd, I had a scare at 21 weeks. Very scary it was too. It's amazing how it just stops and goes away.

I'm using rescue remedy sleep, seems to have helped me get to sleep when brain has been doing that frantic running around thing.

Prune juice. What I really want is a larger. I think it's being really thirsty - a cold crisp eer would really just do the trick. Drooooollll

btw - stripeywoolenhat - I had my waters broken with the crochet hook thing. Never felt a thing. Honest 'guv! Had the fetal scalp electrode too, dd1 had a nick on her head from it. It allowed me to mooch about in labour a bit though - the bloody belts kept falling off from the external monitor every time I moved. So a positive. Not that any of that mattered much at the time - she was in trouble so keeping a good eye on her came first. Still, good that it worked for me too.

Am hoping next one just drops out. SHelling peas apparently.

chefswife · 21/11/2008 04:05

today i got an email from my best friend saying she couldn't make it to an art opening friday night because she is meeting someone from work for belated birthday drinks because my friend couldn't make it to the party. a bloody email!!! at 8am this morning. i was, and am still, pissed about it. WTF. couldn't she have made a five minute phone call when she got home from work. i bet this broad didn't phone her when she got back in town to see how her dad was. (my friend missed the party because she had to go to toronto. her dad was having a quadruple bypass). i almost wrote her back. decided i was too emotional about.

i have agreed, much to my chagrin, to move into my uncle's suite. it's available because his (very new, 3 weeks together) girlfriend, who lived there, has gone to alcohol rehab. great, the rent is very cheap and DH and i can save like crazy, but my lazy uncle said to DH that we can just move all her crap out to his basement. why the hell should we be moving his girlfriend's shit. i can't move anything anyway. when i asked him about the furniture, he said 'oh, are you going to buy your own?' DUH! YES! i don't want someone else's manky, smoky furniture. then on top of it, i have to clean the place too. and there is this big ass tv (HUGE) that my uncle says is his now because the person that was suppose to be picking up isn't now. i said i don't want it and he said 'well, DH might have something to say about that' i said ya, he doesn't want it either. it is about five feet from the aforementioned manky couch. it is ridiculously huge and takes up most of the teeny living space that we have in there. the kitchen table is a plastic folding cafeteria table with one wobbly wooden chair and one fold out metal one. why the @%*&^ would i want this furniture. ARGH!!!!! i'm ready to explode! honestly!!!! on and off all day i have been having extreme bouts of crying made worse by the fact that i am now officially stuck in suburbia. tomorrow i have to go deal with the neighbour. they leave their dog out all day and all it does is bark which echos. (we live in a valley on the mountain) top that with the blasting across the valley, (there is no stop to the building boom here) and my nerves are shot.

oh, and, now because i will be living below my uncle, i can't get out of spending christmas with mom's side of the family. if you knew these people, you'd wouldn't want to spend any time with them either. epitome of trailer trash; fat, lazy, severely under-educated, beer swilling, uninteresting individuals. DH gets out of it because he'll be working. lucky duck.

i've closed myself up in my bedroom listening to nina simone.

sorry for the rant. i think i've reached the end of my tether today probably brought on mostly by my lack of sleep. i know my bedroom ceiling very well now though.

chefswife · 21/11/2008 04:08

tink thanks for thinking up a great new title for the thread. how do you it. my brain is mush.

fourlittlefeet · 21/11/2008 07:40

chef; bring on the rants! Tis that time of pregnancy. Better here than at your partner, plenty of reason for them to be crying in the kitchen afterwards.

GTAB you can get the bath oil here but things like planet organic or health food shops stock it/might get it in for you; its awesome; even DP uses it when I let him!

Well, I've been having period type cramps in the night, coupled with DD having a raging temp so no sleep. Even came on here at 4ish to start a thread as I was so worried. Still feel crampy so think I'm going to have to see the midwife today. Stay in there bub!

FLF mine favour 32 weeks for an exit too. They have managed to stop it both times so fingers crossed it will all die down! Will be thinking of you.

Stripeywollen Scalp monitors not necessary if you have an epidural, belts are fine

Also we will have none of this fecking SHELLING PEAS talk, i am sick to death of people telling me how after so many it must be easy. The references to the Monty Python sketch also drive me insane. I am sorry to say girls it hurts juts as much but may be over faster the more you have.

Chefs rant away sounds like you have very good reason to! What a nightamre. All the floor scrubbing will get the baby in a good position though. I cleaned the kitchen floor last night and she swung right round the front!

Nice to see you Elkie! I had just joined aquanatal when i went i went in to labour with the twins at 29 weeks, i was soooo miffed!

Lenni i hope you are resting!

Moose the cot looks so sweet! Are you placing bets on delivery time?

I am alos niggly but ignoring it. Am off to meet a friend for coffee, she is stying in there till the tree is down and that is FINAL.

rrrayray · 21/11/2008 08:49

My goodness you ladies have been busy chatting over the past 24 hours!!!!

Went a bit of christmas shopping yesterday, and my hat off to any of you who have stayed in Debenhams longer than about 10 mins! it was mayhem.... i'm afraid i've never been a very good Sales shopper, and now preggy, Def not!!! Especially after i used the toilet, and as i was walking out back into the store, held the door open for a lady who then BARGED me into the frame of the door. To say i was CROSS was an understatement, i mean i didn't look very pregnant in what i was wearing, but regardless, you don't jump through the door when a person is leaning back to hold it open for you anyway. Stupid woman didn't even seem apologetic when i said "jesus woman, watch my bump".... walked off not knowing whether to Cry or Go back and Bop her One... ...

Bought Things for OH Advent Calander. Since its our last Christmas just our two thought i'd make it special. My Friend and i bought lots of cute Christmas sweeties and mini candy canes. I have a fabric advent calander which has a little pocket for each decemeber day. I've done to day 12 so far with a little sweetie & alternate little notes of one day saying a reason why i love him, and other days finding little baby facts he probarly wont know. Am very pleased with it....

Can't remember who said about feeling like their baby is trying to get out... Feeling that here too!!!!

Spink- Ohhhhhh, a premonition i could be 2 weeks early. That would be LOVELY!!! As long as she stays put for Christmas & into the beginning of january, then she can come whenever she pleases!!

Boobs a little sore last night, more twinges than sore. Anyone else had this?

Can't believe those of you with small appetities, i've been eating like a horse!

I forgot to say, is anyone else having a scan at 36 weeks to check position of Placenta? at 20 weeks they couldn't see it, so i guess its just protocol to check for placenta previa! Although my Scan is a bit late, not until 30th December!!!

stripeywoollenhat · 21/11/2008 09:02

flf - have my fingers crossed that small one is not about to disembark.

moosemama · 21/11/2008 09:38

flf, good luck at labour ward. Keeping everything crossed that all is ok for you. Thanks for the bath stuff suggestion, I think that might be the one I had last time, the bottle looks very familiar.

chefswife, you poor thing, sounds like you really need some tlc. Families can be a complete nightmare and at this stage of pregnancy we all start wanting to create our little nesting places which means spending time somewhere you are comfortable and happy to be (somewhere very different from my house at the moment, lol). Any chance you could book yourself in for a pampering day somewhere, it really sounds like you could do with escaping for a while and you would probably come back feeling more relaxed and therefore able to cope with the stress a bit more. Alternatively, a short break or night away somewhere lovely with DH is always a nice idea just before your first DC arrives, its lovely to spend some time together, just of the two of you, before you become three.

rrrayray, I found that too. I was just ranting at DH yesterday about being elbowed out of the way by grannies both times I have been to the shops this week (and believe me there's no mistaking that I am heavily pregnant now).

Another one with a minute appetite here, which is a pain with mw saying I need to eat more iron rich foods. Have just forced myself to have some apricots and orange juice along with my floradix. Couldn't manage tea last night and ended up eating 2 pieces of toast at 9 0'clock instead as DH wouldn't let me just have nothing.

DH found out last night that he's won some freelance work, which is great from a financial point of view, but the client needs it by 18 December, its a huge job and he already had all his spare time booked into getting the house ready! Really worried we won't get the house finished now! Have resolved to paint the bathroom and toilet myself next week to help out, hmm, we'll see, best laid plans and all that!

Am currently loving my gappy toothed DS2 singing me his nativity songs about "grumpy King Heron!" soooo cute!

moosemama · 21/11/2008 09:41

Oh yes, and DS1 has 2 new words, which are in constant over use. They are boisterous and abominable, both of which could be used to describe him on a regular basis!

Apparently my word obsession at his age was idiosyncracy!

tinkisallreadytositonthetree · 21/11/2008 10:55

flf sending you good leg crossing vibes and hope all ok.
rrayray you are so sweet and just made me feel horrendously guilty about not giving dh any tlc lately. hope its well appreciated. i would happily go out and do everyones shopping for them as love it so much. my 5 hr trip put me in an excellent mood for the whole day! times like this though i miss my bf who lives 2 hrs away as after shopping trips we used to ring each other to come round and look at our goodies. used to leave all christmas presents in a pile too!
gtdab gosh never even gave a thought to placenta first time round. poor you. is there anything they can do/suggest in advance to help with this?
chefswife good to know i ma not the only one with no patience for people this week. try to think of the positives of the flat and i am sure you can have it looking beautiful and homely before dc arrives.
tinks aren't nursery days great?!
moosemama your ds sounds divine. trying to mention christmas at any opportunity to ds but says no to carols and yes to old mac donald....

fourlittlefeet · 21/11/2008 12:36

hello, just reporting in to say I'll be with you all on this thread a little longer . LG&T where were you at 4am when I was having my 'oh my god' meltdown. It was the fact you've been through it a couple of times that made me take it seriously!

The ladies on the ward were lovely, gave me some tea and monitoring, and have arranged for me to talk to the consultant midwife nextweek re homebirth. Apparently the contractions weren't regular or strong enough to be worrying. They told me not to worry unless I had something going on that paracetamol wouldn't sort out . Oh, and to come back when I was in labour .

Glad I got it checked and thanks for all the support!

qumps · 21/11/2008 12:39

good news flf. always better to check if you are not sure. i didn't think i was in labour until midwife laughed at me and said yep that sounds like it!

rrrayray · 21/11/2008 12:58

Great news FLF

tinkisallreadytositonthetree · 21/11/2008 13:12

good news flf
qumps hell ye luv her nursery days sitting and watching tv in peace bliss!!

OP posts:
largeginandtonic · 21/11/2008 15:24

Hooray FLF!!!! Thank goodness for that

I say don't dismiss anything as i have been caught short before disbelieveing contractions. I have got in to hospital both times at 32 weeks and thought oh they will send me home... only to be put on the monitor and have huge great contractions show up and sart going red in the face! I am in denial this time. My cervix never actually changes so i figure unless i feel something down there i am ignoring it. The BH are stepping up in intensity though.

Fingers crossed this baby of yours stays put and gives you no more grief. Mine have all been quiet after their little 32 week blip. In fact they are then late

Blardy babies!

rrrayray · 21/11/2008 15:57

Am i the only one to not feel like they are having any BH they are concious of?

tinkisallreadytositonthetree · 21/11/2008 16:39

hi rray i am not feeling any bh either

OP posts:
fourlittlefeet · 21/11/2008 17:12

Keep it that way - they are incredibly uncomfortable! Feel like I'm gearing up for an almighty period!

tinkisallreadytositonthetree · 21/11/2008 17:14

poor you flf hope they ease
