Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
largeginandtonic · 14/12/2008 21:44

GTDAB the SPD has got worse each time. I have to be careful about the amount of walking i do as i really aggravates it. On a plus i don't remember it being bad after delievry at all! Must have been high on the birth and recovered quickly

Moose hope the little lad has a good night.

Heathersmummy heaps of good luck for you tomorrow, i am sure it will all be fine

Treedelivery how on earth do you get in to the awkward delievery positions with a bump? You back must be killing you! When do you finish?

Tink i had no idea that ds#5 had turned! I knew something had happened and went in to hospital but until they did the scan to see where he was i could not believe it! He was 39 and a half weeks when he did turn!

treedelivery · 14/12/2008 21:52

LGAT - I have no idea!! Keep wolloping bump off resusitaires and knocking sterile delivery packs and stuff over. It has comedy value I suppose! Finish 28 Dec at 36 +6 on a long day and have a night shift and a long day every week till then so will be on knees. Moan over. Hey Ho the money is needed and appreciated!

Was pushing with SPD harder or scary? I can't imagine binging myself to push - worried pelvis might just give a big crack and split

On much more positive note Good luck Heathersmummy!. Will be thinking of you!

treedelivery · 14/12/2008 22:03

on a diferent note - think bubs in engaging as it really feels like she is forcing her head through a very closed cervix - OUCH!!

Braxton Hicks are painless my arse!

largeginandtonic · 14/12/2008 22:06

Good grief you poor thing, it must be a nightmare!

I have no idea if pushing was any worse, the pain everywhere else masked it I was even in stirups for the ventouse at the end! I don't remember giving it a second thought after he was out. Everything just felt soooo much better.

I would lie myself on a bed and groan whenever someone comes in the room They will run.

Do you have a lovely friend to deliver you? I would have loved one of my friends to deliver mine but i re located when pregnant with the twins.

fymandbean · 14/12/2008 22:17

all thanks for your kind words - feeling much better now thank you!

have just requested to join the facebook group - tink, looweeza or missj will you let me in pretty pleeese....

qumps · 14/12/2008 22:22

moosemama great to have you back as we have all been worried. so so sorry about what an awful time you and your dcs have been having. brought tears to my eyes too but i am in awe of how strong you are. you are clearly a great mum and compared to what you have been through having a baby will be a breeze! thank goodness for the distraction of christmas
taken me about 20 mins to read and catch up and can't remember who wrote what but...
oh no to chickenpox with baby imminent but good news that you have had it.
ds is also very clingy to mummy in a gorgeous cute way now but what would not be fun when baby arrives. agree that i think he can sense something is about to happen.
bh a big pregnancy lie and def painful.
friend with spd who's baby is 6 weeks says it is pretty much gone as long as she doesn't open her legs too wide
jocat baby is gorgeous and grown so much in 6 weeks.
heathersmummy good luck for tomorrow.
rrayray hope itching improved.

rrrayray · 14/12/2008 22:30

G&T - only joined this unit as a worker at 28 weeks so haven't really got a pal I'd like to deliver me as such. It's a lovely small place so am really happy whatever I think. But will miss knowing the Dr's really well like at old place although don't know why really.

JoCAt - pictures are just lovely and ashe has grown loads! Looks massive in comparison to birthday pic.

elkiedee · 14/12/2008 23:01

I haven't logged on to facebook for a few days, can't get in from my usual browser so it's a bit more effort, also can't log on to it from work. Not at work tomorrow and Tuesday so may try for a bit if/when I get up.

moosemama · 14/12/2008 23:33

Just been to give Ds2 his antibiotics. Cue much screaming, kicking, punching and one hysterical 4 year old with a completely wild and glazed expression.

Its awful, he is just so traumatised by anything medical now. Took two of us half an hour to get an 8ml dose down him and then another half hour to calm him down enough to fall back to sleep. Thankfully he doesn't need to have any middle of the night doses, I'm sure that would be a step too far for any of us to cope with.

Have tried a bit of inversion this evening, (upside down with knees on the sofa and elbows on floor, as recommended by the spinning babies website) not holding out much hope for it though, it really makes the blood rush to your head and I couldn't stay there for more than 30 seconds!

Don't think bubs was very impressed, she still has her head stubbornly wedged under my ribs.

treedelivery · 14/12/2008 23:40

Poor you and ds2 mm. I really really feel for you as I'm soft as play dough with this sort of stuff.

Could you cunningly inject it into a chocolate or something?

largeginandtonic · 15/12/2008 08:17

Thats what i would do Tree pour it in to something else, a little choc milkshake or something and call it a 'super hero energy drink'. Poor little thing.

This week is going to fly, it is the childrens last week at school and they all have stuff on nearly every day!

I am 36 weeks today

The baby is very clingy too, he seems to just want me. I am sure he knows something is going on. DH is feeling all neglected but i know as soon as the girl is out he won't want to know me and dh will be the be all and end all to him. Mine are all like that. It soon wears off though so i don't get worried.

JOkat she really is a sweetie, it must be lovely to be able to hold her now. I couldn't hold the twins until they were 3 weeks old and didn't even get to feed them myself till they were almost 4 months old You are doing so well with it all. It is one of the hardest things i have ever had to go through as a parent.

Oooooh Heathersmummy feet up today and enjoy the last day of peace!!! You will have a new baby soon

tinkisabigpinksparklybauble · 15/12/2008 08:43

fourlittlestockingedfeet · 15/12/2008 09:03

morning all. have had an interesting night... what I think are braxton hicks, but they carry on whatever I do, feeling sick and have diarrhea. Then again, I've had that all week and thought it was the roto virus. Sorry tmi. Should I be worried that this is pre-labour? Still in the middle of hospital transfer and haven't seen the midwives at the new one yet. eeek. feeling midly panicky. and have no cot. .

largeginandtonic · 15/12/2008 09:08

Calm thought FLF sure it is just a virus but diarrhea can tip you in to labour if it is prolonged and violent (hence the use of caster oil for inducing labour) Better to go and get seen, they will monitor you on the CTG machine and see if the contractions are regular and doing anything. How many weeks are you?

Morning Tink!

LenniEd · 15/12/2008 09:46

FLF - I'd call the new hospital. Just in case! Don't worry about the cot - not a problem, easily remedied by time you need it.

fourlittlestockingedfeet · 15/12/2008 10:26

eek. thanks guys, just trying to find a contraction timer. they don't hurt but do feel a bit breathless. bath stopped them though, then returned with a vengance when I got out so may go and run another one! I'm only 35 +3 today . Have been getting the feeling it would be early though so who knows.

rrrayray · 15/12/2008 11:36

givethedog - Facebook group started a while ago, none of us actually use it though. you have to search the group & then request to join. Just nice for putting faces to names, or DS faces to names

FLF - i'd get it checked out, like LenniEd said at the new hospitial. Let us know how it goes.

tink- Hope your stuff arrives.

moose hope things improving. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

qumps · 15/12/2008 11:48

tmi warning incase anyone eating or feeling queasy!
due to lovely weeeknd and much improved behaviour dh was being 'rewarded' last night. anyhow about to really get down to it when suddenly felt completely soaked. looked at him and said well it has been a while but he said that wasn't me!! looked down to see massive wet patch and he said don't tell me your waters broke as that will be one hell of a story to tell our son. no pain or anything (i didn't feel a thing) and stopped straight away so decided to wait until this morning to ring midwife. they made me pop down to triage at hospital but unfortunately not my waters. apparently just lots of discharge and in her words very creamy (no sign of thrush) so could mean labour imminent and not to be surprised if i have a show. sorry told you tmi warning.
anyway we had a giggle and she said don't worry i will just write you were in bed and not what you were actually doing but seriously what are you thinking at 37 weeks?!
def not joining facebook group after sharing that!

fourlittlestockingedfeet · 15/12/2008 12:44

lol qumps!

things seem to have slowed down a bit here. Still unconfortable tightenings, but they are not getting worse or closer together so have stopped panicking! . Am trying to get through to hospital to sort it out so hopefully that'll be one less worry. My lovely friends who were lending me the cot and P&T have phoned and offered to bring them straight over so now I know someone else is doing my worrying for me!

moosemama · 15/12/2008 13:31

Morning all,

flf, glad to hear things have slowed down. Best to get things checked out though if you are worried.

qumps. What I really want to know is where do you get your energy from!

tree and lg&t thought of putting meds into chocolate milkshake last night but its a fair sized dose and has got such a distinctive taste and smell. Also, he is being verrry picky about what he will and won't eat at the moment, even refusing things he normally loves. The 7am one was a bit less traumatic, thank goodness. Not looking forward to his 3pm one without Daddy though!

DS2 and I both fell asleep in my bed at 9.20 this morning and only woke up again at 12.30! He seems much brighter and has asked for his Thomas train set to be brought downstairs. I on the other hand seem to feel worse for having had more sleep, all sort of spacey and shakey. I wonder how long its going to take for me to catch up? He'll be running rings round me before I know it at this rate.

MsSparkle · 15/12/2008 13:32

qumps lol.

fourlittlefeet i am exactly like you. I get tightnings etc and keep convincing myself i am going into labour!

It doesn't feel like i have been kicked hard in the fanjo anymore. That was very strange? Still not sure what that was all about?

I hope Heathersmummy is ok today.
