Hi all.

Just had a horrid morning of nausea and almost being sick. Luckily I didn't do that part! I am determined to get back to work on Monday!

Hope everyone is feeling okay today!

At least its a bright sunny day here!

chocciedooby · 06/12/2008 15:23

june2009 throw your tomatoes this way hon
I can't get enough of them.

leaky · 06/12/2008 17:09

Hi all,

very excited as we've just booked our summer holiday for next year.Feeling a bit nervous but my MIL is coming too so that will help a little,I hope! We're going at the end of August when the baby shouls be around 10-12wks old & my other two will be 3yrs & 6yrs.Ooh,so excited

leaky · 06/12/2008 17:10

By the way,we're going to the South of France

flynn1984 · 06/12/2008 17:36

Afternoon all!

Tee sorry you were feeling ill this morning, hopefully this will pass...and strangely enough its been a sunny day here too

leaky where in the south of france are you going, i usually go there but not been for years

mrsmcjnr can't believe you can catch up with absolutely everything thats happened on the thread...very impressed.

Well thats another day in my mat clothes and god they are so comfy shame the jeans kinda fall down so wearing a belt with them.
MS returned for a short time this morning but has passed and now i'm shattered even tho I have done nothing all day! Worrying about my job situation but i'm sure this will sort itself out, have tons of support from family and friends and so excited about wednesday a friend of mine who was ttc for 7 years is due a few days after me and her scan is Tues so excited for her too

Sorry for the long post x

leaky · 06/12/2008 18:11

Hi flynn1984, we're going to be somewhere near St Tropez. That's lovely news about your friend. My friend who TTC for 5yrs is due her 1st on Boxing Day so I'm excited for her too

LittleSarah · 06/12/2008 18:15

Thanks to chocciedooby, MrsMcJnr and June for kind comments re dd and tears.

I know what you mean about men sometimes not realising how the hormones affect you, after I don't realise myself sometimes!
June - I was considering a ski holiday this year actually! Pity I can't afford it. Me and dh going to have quiet Christmas just us two which will no doubt be the only year in a LONG time it will happen!

MrsMcJnr - I plan to have baby at home, did it with dd and worked out very well! Im going to start going to monthly home birth meetings (with my cousin) next year at the Birth Resource Centre, those active birth classes sound fab too, if you can remember!

leaky - love the south of France, gorgeous!

ermintrude13 · 06/12/2008 18:32

LittleSarah, I had ds at home and it was wonderful - as was the birth of dd in a pool at the birth centre. When I say wonderful, I mean strange and brutal but pretty quick and no need for pain relief or any sort of intervention - so a speedy recovery and I was more relaxed than if I'd been in hosp. If all is straightforward this time I'd like to do it again but because I'm a hundred and three the GP made a no-no face when I mentioned it. Still, I reckon the midwives will be more sympathetic, and I'll only fight for it if babe is head down and I'm feeling up to it. Second stage with ds was 2 mins and the whole thing only took 5 hrs so I'd have to go to hosp at the first contraction just in case, and could be there for hours!

Being v nauseous today, I can't quite bear to think of labour in any great detail yet... bleeurgh!

June2009 · 06/12/2008 18:36

leaky my family's yearly picnic falls at the beginning of September, we've been going the past 2 years and it's fab! The baby will be 3 months old by then and I really want to show him/her off to my aunties etc but I'm also a bit worried that it might be a bit ambitious the baby being so young, first baby and all that!
I'm torn between booking early and waiting to see how I feel then.
I know relatives will be disappointed if we don't go and I know I'd regret it as I really want my children to be part of it.

flynn1984 · 06/12/2008 21:52

Hiya all just looking to see what you would do in this situation.

My friends are getting married in dominican republic in august 2010 which dh and i are invited. The baby will be around 14months should we put it through the ordeal of getting jags for immunisation or leave him/her at home with grandparents??

June2009 · 06/12/2008 22:39

flynn1984 Can you actually do these jabs that young?

llynnnn · 06/12/2008 22:53

hi all

littlesarah - hope you are feeling better now, I am also very emotional at the moment(just cried at x factor!!), think you had very good reason though, it must be a difficult situation especially at this time of year.

flynn - i think i would leave baby with grandparents, but then i am a mega wimp and am still too scared to take dd abroad now, shes 2.5! dominican republic is lovely (we honeymooned there!) very hot and very relaxing, which would probably be hard work with an active little one.

June - London was great, thanks for asking. we had a fab weekend and I seemed to get an extra boost of energy for the weekend which carried me through! I was shattered on Monday though!! being from sleepy lincolnshire though, London was soooooo busy, a shock to my system!!

Leaky - jealous about your holiday, sounds fab. you are very brave taking a baby though! I'm far too nervous and have to pack far too many 'just in case items' to go far with a little one!

mrsmcjnr - must be awful waking in the night feeling sick, hope it passes soon. great that you've felt some movement though, I cant wait for that!!

i have been feeling quite nauseaus again in the last couple of days, especially when i start to get hungry or smell/see something disgusting, i keep choking and gagging!! not pleasant at ALL!!

right, i must go to bed!! night all, hope everyone sleeps well!

flynn1984 · 07/12/2008 00:39

june I'm not sure baby's that young can get the jobs think I'll be leaving baby with grandparents like llynnnn suggests god feel like a bad mum already

chocciedooby · 07/12/2008 09:37

Flynn How long would you be going to the Dominion Republic for? I would be inclined to leave lo with grandparents if you feel comfortable enough to do that. 14 months old is a busy age! If lo was younger I would take him/her with me before they are mobile
Leaky Lucky you having booked your hols. You have inspired me to start looking now. We were originally thinking of missing a holiday next year as it would be hectic but after remembering how easy small babies can be compared to toddlers I think I would be inclined to go for it as well
It will be the following year that the harder work will start.

chocciedooby · 07/12/2008 09:39

Flynn you would not be a bad parent at all. We left both our ds's for 4 days with a minder a couple of years ago to go to a close friends wedding. I did shed a few tears and missed them terribly but I relaxed once I had a nice glass of wine inside me .
You will enjoy the wedding much nore.

helpivegottogivebirth · 07/12/2008 10:55

i had a real shock last night. i was out at friends and went to the loo and found some blood. i feel really a bit tender across my tummy today as well. i'm 14 weeks - does this sound like something to worry about?

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 07/12/2008 11:14

Helpi've got to- with the blood and the cramps I think it's worth getting things checked out, for peace of mind if nothing else.

I'd recomend you ring the midwives for advice where to go locally, maybe early pregnancy unit if you hav one

Good luck and I have my fingers crossed for you.X

Tinker3 · 07/12/2008 13:14

Hello.. Can I join in? I am 11+2 weeks with my first and due on the 26th June 2009.. Saw midwife for first time last week and that was disappointing... I have low blood pressure (95/55) and am cold a lot of the time, no sickness at all thank goodness but heard nothing about my first scan.. Still not showing either?? Is this all normal?!!

Tinker3 · 07/12/2008 14:22

A bit about me - 29, married since March this year although have been with DH since 2000.. We live in Somerset, both work full time (and I am also in the second year of my MA) This is our first pregnancy...

June2009 · 07/12/2008 15:20

helpivegottogivebirth Is it a lot of blood or just a little bit, have you bled since or not? Was it bright red or brown?

Look up "spotting" online, that is quite common.
Some people bleed and no one knows the reason and baby is healthy.

Bleeding happens, (TMI)I had brown discharge yesterday which is "old blood" apparently.
There's loads of reasons you could be bleeding, blod clot, sensitive cervix, growing uterus, none of which harm your child.

However it is worth checking with midwife and see what she says.

Tinker3 welcome
Some women have no symptoms and do not put on weight the first trimester. Enjoy it ;)
I too found the first trimester long...

I was bloody freezing for weeks as well even though some people in the house were boiling.
You can ask your midwife or GP about who is supposed to contact you for the scan and contact them directly.

I can't stay more for now, I think I'm burning our lunch!!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 07/12/2008 18:27

Hello all. Had all mine and my DH's family over all day for DS's 2nd birthday.... slightly manic and lovely to see everyone, but I'm freakin' knackered now!

I've felt lots of ligament pulling all day, I think my bump is growing.... I hope there are lots of fabby maternity clothes in the new year sales.... I'm going to need them. All my stuff is the wrong season as I had DS this time two years ago.... any excuse to go shopping!

Hello Tinker3 nice to see you on here.

Hope all goes okay helpivegottogivebirth. I'll be crossing my fingers for you x

hi all... thought I'd let you know that I had my scan - all good - so am thrilled and slightly more relaxed.

MsMcJnr - yes lock stock and barrel... think will take mat leave from the earliest I can 11 weeks before.. so at least I have two months to settle in to life in Germany prior to c section - i have been advised to have another ...

hope you are all feeling better

ermintrude13 · 08/12/2008 08:41

flynn, I couldn't have left my 14 month olds with anyone overnight except my dh (was still b/feeding for one thing) but know a few people who left their 3 month olds with grandparents to go on weekend breaks to Paris, so it's completely horses for courses. And having reliable, familiar people to leave them with of course. Do you have to decide right now?

helpivegotto - hope you manage to see someone and get some reassurance

Tinker3 welcome! I'm still in my old jeans too, although they are getting a little tight on the top button. I'm still having morning sickness and vomiting so although I feel 'fuller' I don't think I've put weight on. Don't worry, you will, with a vengeance!

amsterdambaby good news about the scan - am v excited about mine tomorrow!

chocciedooby · 08/12/2008 09:03

I showed my scan pictures to my MIL yesterday and she is convinced that we are having another boy! Even the consultant said it was too early to tell the gender but I am convincing myself now that even I can see a wily on the scan
Ridiculous I know.
