going this week. Argh!

Tee2072 · 03/12/2008 07:19

dreamydowler you might want to join us older mummies over on this thread as well: 40+ Yummy Mummies

Tee2072 · 03/12/2008 07:22

Oh I forgot to do my little bio!!

tee2072 - 39, due around 24th June, first baby. Married for 4 years, expat American living in Belfast. I work as a Personal Assistant to a CEO and two other senior managers. I also act as the Office manager for our company (small company!).

Pregnancy wise, I've been off work for the past 3 weeks due to Ante Natal Depression, nausea and my diabetes. All seems to be better this week and I am hoping to return to work on Monday, although the exhaustion is horrible!

ermintrude13 · 03/12/2008 10:09

Morning all and hurrah for good scans and the passing of nausea for some of us. dreamydowler, do come and join the 40+ thread as Tee suggested. Is my maths wrong or are you actually expecting your 8th child?! I'll be 42 soon and expecting 3rd so you are an inspiration! My biog:

41, dd 10, ds 6, dc3 due 20 June. Took a couple of years to conceive this time because I have quite severe endometriosis. I live in Nottingham with dh of 15 yrs and am a writer so work from home.

Got my scan next Tues and can't wait. Had ms since wk 5 and am still throwing up, but just at night now, which is an improvement

dreamydowler · 03/12/2008 10:24

thanks ermintrude will have a look at the 40+ group, I used to live in Nottingham with my ex husband and my eldest four children. I did my teacher training at Nottingham Trent polytechnic at the clifton hall site and lived in west bridgeford and then Mapperly until I was 31 Still have some great friends there Where about in Nottingham are you?

flynn1984 · 03/12/2008 11:00

Morning all

quick question - has anyone experienced any pain in lower abdomin just about the pelvic area. It comes and goes but the pain is sore should I get this checked? I've had no bleeding at all so been trying to thing it's just my muscles and ligaments stretching kinda worried tho

Hope4Future · 03/12/2008 11:24

Flynn1984

I say get it checked. It is not good worrying, and if it turns out to be nothing at least that will settle your mind. If it is significant you know you have done the right thing as soon as you could.

Tee2072 · 03/12/2008 11:28

flynn I have off and on. I am assuming it is ligaments stretching.

SweetBROODY · 03/12/2008 11:32

flynn sounds like normal stretching but if you are concerned speak to your MW thats what they are there for!

flynn1984 · 03/12/2008 11:36

Hiya Hope Tee Sweet thanks for your replys, think I will call to be on the safe side

flynn1984 · 03/12/2008 11:56

called midwife there said to take paracetamol for the pain but if theres no bleeding I shouldn't be overly concerned. She did say however if it continues after paracetamol I've to go up to the midwife unit with a urine same as it also sound like a small UTI

SweetBROODY · 03/12/2008 12:27

Oh i'm glad you rang... at least they are aware of whats happening that way!

June2009 · 03/12/2008 12:58

First scan done this morning, YAY.
Everything looks fine, will have the DS results in around 3 weeks.
The dates are "spot on" according to the radiologist, 13+3.
It all went a bit too fast, I could stay there and watch the baby for hours!
Dh spotted the hearbeat but I didn't see it .
We should have the result for DS in around 3 weeks.
The baby was moving and even had a hiccup which was truly amazing.

I'll do my bio when I'm done catching up with work!

Thank you very much for your support up until now, it has really helped me.

ermintrude13 · 03/12/2008 13:08

dreamydowler, i'm in west bridgford, and you're not the only ex-nottingham dweller on this thread. i've been here 5 yrs and it's great, very family-orientated, good schools, nice parks and facilities etc. i don't know mapperley at all, except for where it is!

june great news about your scan. am now really really impatient for mine next week!

dreamydowler · 03/12/2008 13:28

I loved living in Nottingham such happy memories I lived there for 11 years and remember taking the children to Rushcliffe leisure centre and home pierpoint Virtually lived at white post modern farm centre in the summer I still have friends in West bridgeford will have to return sometime

loooouise · 03/12/2008 23:51

Ooh, it's nice finding out where everybody lives! Hello LittleSarah in Edinburgh! I lived in Tollcross for 7 years. Here's me:

Loooouise, 32, live alone in East London. This is my first baby and wasn't planned but is extremely welcome. I am hoping that the father, an old uni friend, will be involved after the birth. I work for an international NGO on disarmament, and plan to promote women's peace work by attending UN meetings with baby chomping on my boob. That will keep the diplomats quiet. I have super mum and dad and 3 brothers. Pregnancy so far more tiring than I could ever have imagined, but am loving the glossy hair and cute little bump!

loooouise · 04/12/2008 00:02

Congratulations June on your scan btw!

AliTheBard · 04/12/2008 09:05

Hello all and sorry to have been absent from this thread for so long. I'm now 13 weeks and looking/feeling huge already (last time I barely showed till around 16/17 weeks!) Annoyingly though my boobs have actually shrunk - what's going on there?

I'll add myself to the details list:

AliTheBard, 34, due 10 June, live in Oxfordshire with DH and DD (2.5yrs), work as a website editor (currently doing mobile web stuff). Love being pregnant but finding it much harder this time round as I'm so tired, hence feel sicker much quicker and am eating like a horse! Hoping I manage to pull off the same trick as last time and drop a dress size afterwards by breastfeeding!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 04/12/2008 11:43

Hello all I love the new little smileys

Just been to the dentist (with grouchy toddler in tow - I must be mad). Anyway, I need three fillings in January. He said the jab I'll need is safe for pregnancy, but I'm still a bit cautious. Anyone else had dental treatment while pregnant before?

Anyway, hope all is well with you guys. I feel like I've got so much more energy and I feel human again. Just can't wait to have a proper 'bump' instead of looking like I've eaten all the pies.....

Ineed - I want a proper bump too, mine still a bit too pot bellyish for me!

Scan went well this morning. Difficult start when a couple before us came out having clearly got bad news, poor things!

Saw little one wriggling and moving and touching his/her face. Everything looked great apparently, they couldn't get good rump to crown measurement due to position, but got a good head circumference. That put baby at 13+4, but I'm not changing date again because it's a mere day out! (These things only averages anyway - and sonographer din't see the need to adjust date either).

Hey looouise - I used to live in Tollcross, just down the road in Polwarth now.
