NEWS FLASH! New Look has tons of maternity clothes! At least compared to Top Shop and Next!

I got 3 pairs of trousers, 1 skirt, 1 dress and 2 tops for just about £100.

And now I'm exhausted. Man is shopping tiring when you're carrying a passenger!

LittleSarah · 02/12/2008 12:32

Ooh, I will have to wander down there, I need some trousers!

Mhairi100 · 02/12/2008 12:46

As it happens, I've just been spending part of my lunchbreak buying maternity jeans on the New Look website! Only £12!! And fabulous for me because they do 34 inch legs (I'm 5'11 - would love 35 ins but can't have everything!). My DH was laughing at the 'it started with a kiss' t-shirt in town last weekend, we WON'T be buying that one...!

SweetBROODY · 02/12/2008 13:12

Hey guys - I bought things of the new look site as well.. they also had 20% off online.. which stretched my £100 a bit more!

SweetBROODY · 02/12/2008 13:34

HUbby laughed at that one as well!
I almost got it and then thought not to - cant get any wear out of it afterwards!

flynn1984 · 02/12/2008 13:34

Think I will check out new look for clothes as mine starting to get tight (already size 18 tops & 16 trousers) think i've done not bad weight wize so far I've put on 5 lbs which happened right at start of trimester hopefully can keep this off.

I'm 12 weeks this week and cannot wait for my scan next wednesday afternoon as getting a tour round midwife unit where I'll give birth as well

Quick question my SIL is giving me a crib (used rarely) a silver cross ventura seat which will fit the pram I have ordered and a graco swing for the baby. She is delivering them tonight is this too early to bring stuff into the house?? (superstitious person)

Tee2072 · 02/12/2008 13:52

flynn it depends on who you ask! I actually have already bought a set of 3 sleepers for my baby! My mum was totally shocked that I would tempt fate that way.

I think if you have room for it, bring it on in!

SweetBROODY · 02/12/2008 13:54

I'm almost 15 weeks and have not put any weight on yet :S although tummy is bigger.. my mum reckons I've lost weight from the rest of me.. I wonder if thats normal/possible..

flyn I am also superstitious so I would probably not??

I've left all the gifts I have been given at my mums.

Tee2072 · 02/12/2008 13:56

sweetbroody I have actually lost 5 pounds! But my trousers are all tight anyway, I assume from shifting areas of babyness!! Lord knows I can no long suck in my gut!

flynn1984 · 02/12/2008 14:01

Tee sweetbroody Wish I hadn't put on any weight straight away hopefully can keep it off for rest of time. As it took over 2 years of ttc I stopped excerise as I was worried something would happen before I reach 12 week mark. So looking forward to Saturday as going back to karate to do light exercise so hopefully doing that and going walks should keep the weight off.

SweetBROODY · 02/12/2008 14:14

LOl - i see what you mean.. I guess my weights doing the same because I wasnt eating much so must have lost it and then put it back on :s

8Tee* do you know if any of the ladies are from North London on this thread?

SweetBROODY · 02/12/2008 14:33

Flynn Yeah - I have had episodes of bleeding so gave up on the gym.. am thinking of starting swimming again from next week.

loooouise · 02/12/2008 16:19

Hi everybody - sorry, bit of a "me" message, but just about to dash to airport for a work trip to oslo.
12 week scan went wonderfully, baby was doing headstands, sucking its thumb, all measurements fine and dandy. I feel so relieved!
Good luck June with yours tomorrow and everybody else who have theirs this week!
Thanks for your kind words about my friend Little Sarah. If anybody knows of any miracle cancer cures, please do tell me, we're clinging on to hope, no matter how small the chances. xx

Tee2072 · 02/12/2008 16:22

I have no idea sweetbroody! Anyone from North London?

loooouise such good news! YAYAYAY for good scans!

daisy5 · 02/12/2008 16:36

Hi all,

So sorry to hear all the sad news of friends with cancer, friends leaving and jobs lost. I cannot imagine what you must be going through. My close friends are my family in many ways and I know I would feel crippled without them. When dd was 3 months my FIL died and at 4 months I discovered my Dad had Alzeimhers, and it was a tough time. My baby daughter kept me grounded at this time and gave me hope during this time which stopped me getting low.

daisy5 6th June (41 years, dd 2.5). With dp four years. Just moved north from London although not born in the UK so not many relatives around to help anyway. Last pregnancy ended in mc so prone to worrying. Had a mc scare week 7. Headaches during first trimester. Good second trimester so far. At home mother although works occasionally. Passions: photography & travelling.

daisy5 · 02/12/2008 16:39

PLEASE IGNORE PREVIOUS

oops I made a mistake there.

I was going to suggest that we might want to write a couple of lines about ourselves and our pregnancy so far, as there are so many of us that I am forgetting who is sick and who isn't sleeping well, and who is a single mum and who is working and travelling a lot etc etc.

What do you think if we all write a little bit about ourselves for example....?

SweetBROODY · 02/12/2008 16:45

Yippeee! For good scans.. I so agree... its so hard to get things fixed in your mind when you havent had that first scan! But I think we still dont stop worrying after them! - At least I know I havent...

flynn1984 · 02/12/2008 16:46

Thats a good idea Daisy Flynn - 24 years old due 20th June 2009 with first baby which took 2 years to conceive. I live in Greenock, Scotland and live with my DH of 1 1/2 years and my cat. Had terrible ms between 6-11 weeks which has now passed but now have terrible insomnia (not as bad as others tho) I have a large family so will have support if needed. Providing 4th grandchild for my parents and first for in-laws. Main fear is losing job at end of january and weight gain (previous posts I mentioned I've gained 5lbs already) pre-pregnancy I weighed 13.5 stone although I was very fit attending karate which I'm going back to!

All I can think of for now

SweetBROODY · 02/12/2008 16:51

Thats a good idea..

I'm due 29th May - but I'm not sure I beleive them.. married 2 years.. 2nd Pregnancy had a MMC in May 2008. I've had a non hungry 1 st trimester and the second isnt feeling any hungrier.. no weight gain as yet.. and on and off bleeding since 1st Trimester that I find really worrying - those were at 6 weeks 9 weeks and 13 weeks... have had 2 scans and because of my diabetes Consultant took a peek at my last diabetic appointment. All looked fine. Due for a scan on 16th December for Babies heart..

June2009 · 02/12/2008 19:26

loooouise thanks! I'll post it after to tell you how it went.
Ineedmore Is yours tomorrow as well or was that someone else?

Eating ice cream to calm my nerves... it had better not snow in London tomorrow morning.

Hi All and thanks for the warm welcome. I was 42 on Sunday and live with my dp of the last 7 years in Ellesmere Port near the Cheshire Oaks retail village and not too far from Chester. I am a secondary school teacher but am currently on a career break raising my children. My eldest daughter is 20 and in her third year of an early years education degree at lancaster uni She comes home at least once a month and is looking forward to coming home for xmas. My second eldest daughter is 19 after xmas and has a little girl of 1. She is hoping to go to uni next september to do a midwifery degree. My third eldest daughter is 18 the day before this baby is due and is going to lancaster uni also to do early years education degree. My eldest son is 16 and is currently doing his gcses and hopes to go to sixth form to do a levels in maths and sciences. All four of the children above are from my first marriage and I still am good friends with their father. My second son is 10 and a little cutie he doesnt see his father but calls my partner daddy and has done since he was 3. My partner and I have two little girls together aged 5 and 2 and feel really excited and blessed to be having another. I had two miscarriages at around 9 weeks inbetween the two girls which was awful so had my dating scan at 10 weeks to ensure all was well. I have been quite nauseous and am hoping it will pass in time for xmas Havent put any weight on yet thankfuly as im huge enough to start with
