MrsMcJnr - That's great about your cousin, awww wee babies are gorgeous!

Bigcar - I'd be absolutely raging if I were you, and I'd write a letter of complaint! (At least Id write it in my head!) I'm surprised you're considering moving hospital.

LittleSarah · 30/11/2008 09:28

I'm not surprised! Doh

Hello all...

DS has had a raging temp from yesterday afternoon, that even doses of Calpol and Nurofen combined are not touching. He's been around 40 degrees all day and floppy and lethargic. Lots of Cbeebies and cuddles today! Luckily he's grown out of the febrile convulsions he used to have so it's not quite as scary as it used to be.

Apart from that, all is well! Hope you are all well.... oh, and I've been in maternity clothes for the last two weeks..... ... and I've put on 5 pounds.....

hope everyone ok ??

sorry to now have a rant - have just recovered from worst week at work in ages - stressful hellish you name it. just what i needed when feeling rubbish - just exhausted and am now being relocated to germany two months before birth to top it off.. so am slightly scared and nervous...... just want this scan on friday to go ok... am so much more nervous than last time and am sleeping badly!

Anyone got any tips re the sleeping thing..?? i didn't have this last time round.

ineedmorechocolate - I really hope DS ok. Poor him big hugs x x

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 30/11/2008 22:04

God, amsterdambaby that sounds so rotten. How scary to be relocated so close to the birth. Do they know you're pregnant? Pile of shit!

I posted earlier in the thread about insomnia (I'm an insomniac myself so used to not sleeping). There are some good tips there on the link, from lots of insomniacs! It is so rubbish tho, I really sympathise. The last thing you want when you're knackered is to be laying there awake in the middle of the night.

Hope you feel better soon xx

Tee2072 · 01/12/2008 08:32

amsterdambaby yikes, can you refuse the transfer?

I don't sleep well either. Wish I knew some magick trick to make it better, but I've tried everything that's ever been suggested to me, and nothing seems to help! Hope you feel better soon!

As for me, its a good thing I am still off work as I keep crying for no reason at all. Sure is fun being me right now, let me tell you!

snowwombat · 01/12/2008 10:16

Hi everyone, long time no post and now a very me post! Will catch up on the thread properly soon.
11 weeks here, midwife appt on thursday, consultant next week. Had a big scare a few weeks ago, thought we had lost another little one. Now just waiting to hear the heartbeat again on thursday.

Wednesday is the due date for our little boy who was born and died at 20 wks in July, so feeling pretty sad. Going to have lunch with my two best mates at the beach and then scatter Oliver's ashes with DP later that day.

Great to hear that scans are coming along well for people! Hope the MS starting to settle. I am loving wearing maternity trousers despite only being 11 weeks-they are so so comfy!

Take care of yourselves girls, hope to have some happy news Thursday.

Tee2072 · 01/12/2008 10:19

{{{snowwombat}}} hugs for Wednesday.

Glad things are coming along well with the new pregnancy.

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 01/12/2008 11:50

snowwobat will be thinking of you on Wednesday....

Hi to you all, haven't checked in for a while as I don't have a huge amount to have, went shoppping fo some Jeans on sat and found some realy comfy ones in Red Herring have been in Mat stuff for a few weeks now (it being dc 3 and me having no stomach muscles left ) MS is slowly slowly slowly beginning to ease I think, felt better yesterday pm but still unwell this morning!

hope you're all well

Doris

June2009 · 01/12/2008 11:51

snowwombat Best wishes for Wednesday and Good luck for Thursday!

Tee2072 I've been crying all morning.
It's been a heavy weekend saying goodbye to some close friends who are moving to the states, dealing with shocking drama because PILs are divorcing and worrying about upcoming scan this Wednesday.
I was so stressed I actually woke up screaming in the middle of the night on Friday evening. My husband looked really worried, he thought I was in pain or something. I think he probably just made some noise walking in the room and that's what freaked me out. I screamed so loud my vocal cords were hurting after!!
I can't stop LOL now thinking about it, the neighbours must think I'm crazy.

LittleSarah · 01/12/2008 12:31

snowwombat - I'll be thinking of you and yor wee boy on Wednesday. Glad things are fine with this pregnancy!

Tee and June - sorry you've been having bad times, June you sound like a lot has been happening, hopefully things will calm down soon! And Tee - hope you feel better soon, can't remember if you said how you are getting treated?

Well I have just been trying to work out whether I get maternity allowance. I will have worked enough weeks/hours to be entitled to the standard rate if I finish my job in January but now I'm worried I haven't paid enough NI to get it. I pay less as I'm a student but I don't know if they take that into account or not! So confusing. If not Ill have to hope they want to keep me on at my job and work on into March when I'll be 26 weeks and should get SMP... as far as I can work out!

I think I'm going to have to pop into the citizens' advice bureau for some help here!

flynn1984 · 01/12/2008 13:42

Snowwombat best wishes for wednesday!

I hope everyone is fine and ms is dying down.
Well dublin was great, 2 days of total relaxation which I needed.
I'm in a mess right now tho, just been told that a job I thought I had until march will actually end by end of january and i'm sick at the thought of being out of work as I would not be able to afford food and essentials (at least DH's pay covers all our bills) so now that all my bad symptoms are gone I'm hit with this bombshell...

June2009 · 01/12/2008 14:21

flynn1984 argh, so sorry about your job
One of my mates just lost her job too and she's a single mum atm. She's already started applying for other stuff.
Don't worry too much, you & ds will probably figure it out this week, it's paralysing when you've just been told like that.

chocciedooby · 01/12/2008 14:29

snowwombat will be thinking of you on Wednesday. (((((hugs)))))

flynn you poor thing. Thats a bit of a shocker about your job. Not the best timing eh! Fingers crossed that you will work things out before Jan

doris I am also on dc3 and my stomach muscles are suffering big time. Every time I turn over in bed I am in agony from stretching ligaments etc. Is anyone getting this? I remember having these pains before but they have started really early this time around.

amsterdambaby thats a bugger about the relocation. Why do these things always happen at the most awkward times? Do y7ou have to go? Do they know you are expecting?

I am 11+4 today Nuchal Scan on Thursday. Dh is taking the day off so he can come with me and we can treat ourselves to brunch afterwards. I am so nervous....

dreamydowler · 01/12/2008 14:30

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 01/12/2008 15:30

Hello dreamy. WOW! seven kids.. that's pretty amazing!

Flynn... so sorry about your job. What a nightmare..

choccie - good luck at your scan

Snowombat.. thinking of you on Wed xx

I've been up since 2.30 with dreaded insomnia and guess who decided that he didn't want his nap today??? so no rest for mummy!

Oh, and some other moron drove into the back of me earlier. That's twice in three months... why do people think it's fine to crash into me when I'm stationary at traffic lights...

LittleSarah · 01/12/2008 15:42

Ineed - poor you, insomnia and a car accident!

Dreamydowler - congratulations and welcome, my dh would love eight children, just wait until I tell him about you, there'll be no taking no for an answer!

amsterdambaby - Moving to Germany? Phew, that's a lot to take on, apart from the huge pain of moving do you want to relocate?

Flynn - That's dreadful about your job! Blinkin' jobs are rather troublesome at times eh?

June2009 · 01/12/2008 16:01

dreamydowler 8th baby WOW congrats!!
My gran had 13 children and I've always thought that it's great coming from such a big family, we all keep in touch and meet up once a year, it's really excellent :D
We're aiming at 3 or 4 maximum, but let's see how this one goes, I might be put off for a while

loooouise · 01/12/2008 18:14

Hi everybody, just to let you know I have my nuchual fold scan tomorrow at 12+2!!!!!Sooooooooo scared/excited. Can't bear the thought of something having gone wrong.

I'll let you know how I get on! My brother is coming with me, he's worried the staff will think he's the father, but we look so alike, I'm hoping not!

I feel for you June, I had awful weekend too after finding out a close friend has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. It's unbearable news. I feel guilty for being so excited about the scan/pregnancy. Life seems so miraculous yet fragile at the moment.

Ineed, Tee, Amsterdam - TOTALLY with you on the insomnia, I'm on my 10th broken night. Driving me mad. The neighbours in the flat above me get up for work at 4am. They have agreed to put down carpets to reduce the noise, but the water boiler wakes me up. I may supply them with WetWipes and ask them not to bathe at 4am until the end of my pregnancy.

Tee2072 · 01/12/2008 18:40

loooouise good luck tomorrow!

flynn1984 · 01/12/2008 20:19

dreamydowler - congrats you'll have your hand full with 8 kids best of luck!
Ineed Tee Amsterdam and rest with insomnia, can sympathise with you all find myself in same boat can sleep until around 2.30am then I'm up for the rest of the night

As for my job situation I'm a firm believer in everything happens for a reason so I'm sure I'll be able to cope, and I never know I may get another post pretty quick, I work in a Council so hopefully something will come along (would prefer to stay in Council for mat leave/pay reasons)anyhoo cheering myself up with a big tub of Haagen-Dazs cookies n cream ice cream

June2009 · 01/12/2008 23:08

loooouise good luck for tomorrow! Let us know how it goes.

flynn1984 count me in the insomniacs club
Can't get decent sleep, for some reason I am incredibly thirsty at night and end up drinking a whole litre of water, when I'm not awake because I'm thirsty, I'm awake because I need the loo :S

LittleSarah · 02/12/2008 08:55

Flynn - Glad you are so positive, I'm sure something will come up!

looouise - Good luck with scan tomorrow. I took my dad to NCT antenatal classes and they quickly found out he was not THE dad! Lol. I bet they were all so curious but I wasn't sharing the scandalous details of my story. I'm scanned on Thursday at 13+5 and can't wait!

Oh, just reread and saw bit about your friend, so sorry, that's awful.

Got a message from my boss about Christmas holiday hours so it looks like they definitely want me here past the end of the year, which is a relief with all the maternity pay/allowance speculations!

LittleSarah · 02/12/2008 08:56

PS. I did email my boss last week and mentioned the 'not engaged' thing, saying I was and so forth and perhaps she'd like to look at the footage I've filmed so far to check I'm going in the right direction...?

Email back this morning, no I'm sure it'll be fantastic... and that was pretty much it!
