Good Luck with your scan tomorrow Ineedmorechocnow
Is anyone having hot flushes?

loooouise · 25/11/2008 18:51

Ineedmorechocolate your post made me laugh and laugh and laugh. (I have a very juvenile sense of humour which I reckon has stayed the same as when I was in Year 11)

You're a very brave woman! What subject do you teach?

helpivegottogivebirth · 25/11/2008 18:53

i'm having the odd hot flush. Definitely having violent sneezes as well. feels good when i have them but they are embarrassingly loud.

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 25/11/2008 19:49

I teach English and Media Studies up to A' Level

leaky · 25/11/2008 21:11

Hi all,

brilliant news of your scan Cote.I've got 2 boys....they're lovely, just very loud!

Had my scan today too & it was fantasticI don't think it matters how many pregnancies you have,it's still so amazing.Still can't get my head round the fact that the beautiful baby we saw on the screen is inside me! I asked if they could have any idea at all of the sex & she said that there was no obvious bits showing between the legs. But do you think it could still be too early to tell, maybe some equipment isn't as good as others?
For those of you who may remember me saying before, we timed the BDing for a girl this time so I'm really trying not to get my hopes up too much.

Tee2072 · 26/11/2008 08:24

Well, had an endo appointment yesterday and they decided to scan me again, not that I objected! There has to be some advantage to being diabetic!

Good strong heartbeat, wiggling so bad he almost couldn't get a measurement! Now measuring at 9+1, whereas last scan had me at 10 weeks tomorrow, but the scan pic does say there is a margin for error of +/- 1 week.

I have my booking in and another scan in 3 weeks and should have a more definite due date then!

LittleSarah · 26/11/2008 09:17

Right, working hard today on uni stuff. Or at least I plan today, got to go to dd's school for next year open day thing... (Dh very lovely as expected, I told him I want him to question me about my work when he gets home, hopefully more motivation to crack on).

Good luck with scan Ineed, my '12 week' scan is next Thursday when I'll 13+5. Just cannot wait...

leaky - Glad your scan went so well!

chocciedooby · 26/11/2008 11:00

Hello ladies.
Good news about the scans tee and Leaky. Interesting that they didn't see any prominent "bits" on yours tee. Wouldn't it be lovely if it was a girl!
Looking forward to my scan. Only 8 more days to go.
I am flushed again today and I am getting headaches. Maybe it could be a cold or something. I do have a bit of a cough and have been sneezing a little.
How is everyones nausea?

Tee2072 · 26/11/2008 11:12

Mine comes and goes, chocciedooby. Today its not too bad.

Did finally get to see my GP today and she has signed me off work for at least the next week. The baby is totally kicking my ass and she wants me to let it! I am under strict orders to basically sit on my bottom for the next week or so and just relax! Okay dokey!

June2009 · 26/11/2008 12:36

Do we take Folic Acid all through the pregnancy or can we stop after the first 12 weeks?
I've been taking sanatogen because I saw this really healthy looking pregnant woman buy some. . She also only had really healthy stuff in her trolley...

LittleSarah my scan is next Wednesday morning and I've never been so impatient. It's like nothing else matters, am I too obsessive or is everybody like that before their first scan?
I think chocciedooby's scan is on Wednesday as well.

chocciedooby nausea comes and goes here as well, I usually get it in the morning before breakfast and at night, either when I'm just laying awake or it wakes me up.

I still wake up a few times a night because I am so thirsty, or because I'm uncomfortable.

I'm really off most foods so I end up eating cheese on toast or pasta...so much for a balance diet.

Tee2072 · 26/11/2008 12:39

june I'm taking Pregnacare + Omega 3, which has folic acid in it, and it is recommended all through the pregnancy. You can't OD on folic acid, you wee it out if you have too much, so I would just keep taking a mutli vitamin, if I was you!

June2009 · 26/11/2008 12:39

leaky
You might have explained before but how did you plan the BD for girl?

LittleSarah · 26/11/2008 12:56

Hey, I don't think folic acid has much impact after the first trimester due to development and what it can help with, but it doesn't so any harm. I have taken folic acid but nothing else! Maybe I should get some my diet is not ultra healthy or anything, no where near!

June - Waiting for scans, eh? Fun, fun, fun. And I have had two! The problem is my last one was three weeks ago and anything could have gone wrong since then... can you tell I've had a missed m/c??

Chocciedooby - Nausea comes and goes (12+4), not nearly as bad as before but definitely not gone yet!

Right I said I was working today and I am! Finally found a book that can tell me about Foucault in everyday English!

LittleSarah · 26/11/2008 12:59

When I said anything could have gone wrong since then I hope I didn't worry any of you! I know it's highly unlikely but I am paranoid about something happening and not knowing due to mmc.

StrawSam & LittleSarah I just had my hospital scan yesterday and still managing to worry that I didn't cook the chorizo thoroughly enough in the dish I made at lunchtime and that I am going to hurt my baby. I wonder if you can ever truly relax after a mc or a bleed etc. I just put the hospital appointment dates in my diary and thought 'I hope I will be going to them'. I wonder if I will ever feel confident about this pregnancy!!!!!

june & tee - With my dd I kept taking the pregnacare in case I was missing anything in my diet. They say you don't need to, and probably I didn't but I didn't think there was much harm in it. I did have almost normal iron levels at birth which surprised them!!

cote - sooooooo happy for you. great news - a bouncing bundle of joy leaky too - aren't scans just the best thing sine chocolate cake! tee - just loove your regular scanning. Hope you are enjoying some chilling time and feeling a little better. I'm now 12+5 and starting to feel sooo much better - almost normal as long as I keep eating and drinking water. I can't believe the energy I have.

Ineedmore - I was all prepared for the 'how many pies have you eaten' comment and never got it. You must have been a bit flabbergasted by his response. Does news get around the playground quite fast? Hope scan just hunky dory today.

chocciedooby - do you think he is panicking a little about the extra child and extra cost. Mine is behaving a little irrationally.

mrsmcjnr - the private scan I had last week was a much much better picture than the hospital scan yesterday, and Dr B's last time far superior. What a difference it makes. I managed to loose track of Iggle Piggle yesterday after the scan (aka happiest moment of my year after two great scans and reaching 12+5). dd and I went shopping and eating you see to celebrate. Anyway, I had to go out last night and when dp put dd to bed there was no Iggle Piggle and there were tears. Oh dear! Off to buy another now after being unable to track him down. As for dresses, have bought a Piccu gown for the ball through ebay Piccu maternity outlet - so 50% saving, and got a gorgeous black top yesterday for just £25 that looks fab and makes me feel good to be pregnant - I didn't realise how tight and constrictive everything was starting to feel. Thanks for the suggestion.

I hope bigcar is ok - I think she had her scan last Friday. [waves to bigcar]

LittleSarah · 26/11/2008 15:04

daisy5 - Mmmm, Picchu looks fab! I think a pair of their trousers would do me a treat, but then again dh said he would buy me two Isabella Oliver tops so trousers may be pushing it right now.

Feeling confident about things being okay is so hard. I remember thinking weeks ago that when I got here I'd feel much better, an guess what? I don't! I don't want to buy any maternity clothes or book ante-natal yoga until after that scan. Argh.

StrawberrySam - I still have plenty of symptoms too particularly my tummy expanding (although wish I could hear something on fecking doppler). I will indeed keep you updated, I'm sure you'll be fine too, bloody waiting is a PITA!

chocciedooby · 26/11/2008 17:21

Hi Daisy5. Yes I do think dh is panicking a iot about new baby and extra costs. I am thinking more logically today so I can understand a bit more where he is coming from.
My scan is on Thursday the 4th June2009 so I have a day longer than you to wait
My boobs are still enlarged and tender and I am still nauseous. These horrible things give me great comfort.
I am also very constipated so going to hunt for the prune juice soon .

llynnnn · 26/11/2008 17:21

congrats to all those who've had great scans!! and to Cote on the news of your little boy, how exciting!! wish i could find out the sex now!!

i had my scan last week and still dont feel confident as my nausea and tiredness symptoms have pretty much gone (i'm 13weeks now tho, so think thats normal!) in my last pg i didnt really relax and stop worrying so much until after my 20week scan! i didnt buy anything for baby or accept any gifts! i think it is also a massive relief once you start to feel the movements (until the baby has a lazy day then you start panicing again!! lol!!) such a rollercoaster!!

i have been taking pregnacare and did so all the way through last time, as my diet isnt the healthiest by far

good luck to all those with scans coming up

Tee I am also diabetic.. and planned this pregnancy closely.. How are you finding it? I keep getting hypos... that might be thMS but I think its because I am not quite sure what I am doing.. I have been dated as 13+6....

But constantly worried after my MMC in May...

Are there any ladies from Barnet on this thread?? I was looking for a local Yoga class... and Buddy?

SweetBROODY · 26/11/2008 18:14

Tee Just to quote you and totally agree..... :

I was saying to my husband last night how disappointing it was that this is probably the one time in my life I can get away with eating junk food and I actually can't! I could kill for a big chocolate bar and a bag of crisps!

I havent put any weight on yet either.. slightly worried about that. :S have you always had Diabetes Tee? Mine was discovered in pregnancy last time

I'm finally get around to posting again been lurking but still a bit scared to post like this is not real.
Had 12 week scan yesterday confirmed due date of 3rd of June (changed my dates) which now matches dates so have no idea what it was doing for the early scans when I couldn't see anything. Just waiting now for the morning sickness to pass, last time it ended at 14 weeks dead.

I'm having problems at the moment with migraines has anyone else found anything other than pparacetamol that helps.

Glad to hear all the good news about scans everyone.
