doris that is great news! you must be so happy!

Jools1 · 24/11/2008 14:31

Just delurking briefly to say to Doris how happy I am to see you posting such fab news We got our BFP's more or less at the same time, and it seems a long time ago - must have been an agonising wait.

Relax and enjoy it now

I think my darkest MC days are hopefully behind me - last week was a hormonal nightmare but bleeding has finally stopped, and its all systems go for TTC - maybe I'll get a BFP for Christmas and not be too far behind you all

Hello to everyone else too

Tee2072 · 24/11/2008 14:41

Good to see you jools glad you feel okay!

flynn1984 · 24/11/2008 15:26

Doris thats great news you must be soo chuffed!

Jools It's good to hear from you I hope you are keeping better x

Littlesarah sorry to hear your feeling low at the moment I hope things do start to get better for you x

Cote I hope your scan goes well

To everyone else I've forgotten to mention I hope you are well!

Well today I had very bad ms again (that's what I get for thinking it was over)! MS passed around 10ish only prob I now face is that, in work, I lifted a few heavy boxes and now very paranoid I've done something to my unborn baby. Stomach is pretty tight but not sore and there is no severe pain, just me worrying over nothing (hopefully)
Can't wait until Thursday morning for my trip to Dublin

yayayayay cote!!! Let's here it for little boys! Better start decorating that nursery blue!

CoteDAzur · 24/11/2008 16:56

flynn & Tee - Thank you!

Jools - I'm so happy to hear you sound so positive. My best wishes for a speedy BFP

June2009 · 24/11/2008 17:12

cote How wonderful, I only logged in quickly to see if you'd written anything about your scan :D I'm really chuffed for you.

LittleSarah · 24/11/2008 17:32

Thanks Flynn, Tee and Doris for your kind comments.

I am hoping to perk up I admit, and I am fine mostly, just struggling to stay on top of things!

Doris - I am just temping two days a week so I don't feel confident asking for any leave. The job won't last until after due date anyway. So far it is to the end of the year, I think they may extend it but I'm sure they won't be offering me anything permanent when they find out I'm pregnant! I'm so pleased you had a good CVS result, what a relief!

Tee - I do think the job will have to go...

Cote - Glad your scan went so well, how exciting to having a wee boy!

amsterdambaby · 24/11/2008 17:33

cote thats fab news!!!!!!!!!

little sarah - really hope things get better for you - after the first 12 weeks last time i became human again - no tiredness and i started to feel so much more positive - i really hope that you do too. - a big hug from me x x x

loooouise · 24/11/2008 18:10

Hi everybody,
Wanted to write to say thank you so much for your kind messages of support. I was very, very touched and feel much, much stronger today.

June, I was particularly touched that you shared the story of your brother with us. It was very humbling to read and gave me great faith in the human spirit. It must have left a terrible hole in your life and I feel very sad for you. I hope you see some of him again in your new baby; it's funny how looks and characteristics are shared between siblings and nieces/nephews. I'm in North East London, btw, Upper Clapton - where are you?

Thanks also to Tee, MrsMcJnr Amsterdam, daisy5 and LittleSarah and Chocciedooby for your kind words - Choccie there was nothing remotely patronising about your post but I remain re your dh's weight comment! Now there's a reminder that men aren't all they're cracked up to be

I hope the light comes back in your life soon, Tee. LittleSarah, as somebody who routinely takes on far too much for herself, pls have my sympathy. But give yourself a break! I'm trying to squeeze in a music diploma with my job just now but skiving jazz piano tonight because i've done bugger all practise. Like you, I feel bad because I can't fit it in - but hey, we've got the rest of our lives to be superwomen and only 6 more months of this pregnancy!

Huge congratulations to Doris and Cote, what lovely, heart-warming news!!

I've decided to stop dwelling on the lack of contact from my "friend"/baby's father. He's not a bad person, I suspect he's doing a burying his head in the sand thing. It's tricky because he's in Berlin. I'd prefer to sit down and talk face to face rather than text-email. Hopefully we can do that after Xmas when it's sunk in. It's hurtful that he's not been in touch, but also kind of funny when i think that we met at university during a Religion and Ethics seminar and he told me he didn't believe in sex before marriage. Oh, the irony....

CoteDAzur · 24/11/2008 19:08

Thank you, everyone. Good luck with your scans

flynn1984 · 24/11/2008 20:32

Cote How wonderful your having a boy so pleased your scan went well!
Hope I can find out in 2 weeks what I'm having x

silkcushion · 24/11/2008 22:25

hello

Haven't has chance to read the thread yet as it's huge and I'm struggling with tiredness.

I'm having my 2nd - dd has just turned one (7th Nov). Ashamed to say being a busy full time working mum I completely lost track of my periods. Best guess I think I'm maybe 10 weeks. Having a scan on the 8th so should know then.

Off to bed now as I feel completely ready to flake out.

CoteDAzur · 25/11/2008 08:45

Good morning everyone. DD is ill, and this morning I had severe tummy cramps and made frequent visits to the toilet. Not diarrhea (yet) but feels like it.

I'm hoping it's a virus I got from DD, but can't help panicking that it may be salmonella or toxoplasmosis.

I have the prescription for next blood tests, due in 1 week. Should I have them done tomorrow, to see if I got toxoplasmosis?

chocciedooby · 25/11/2008 11:12

Thats lovely news Cote. Little boys are adorable. So much for the sour craving meaning its a girl eh . Hope your tummy feels better soon. There are a lot of tummy bugs going around at the moment.

Loooouise you are in a great positive frame of mind and that is to be admired.
Yes, there can be a lot to be desired in men at times.

I am feeling quite down today. Apart from DS2 being manipulating (out of character for him) and being very hard work getting him to school, I am becoming increasingly disheartened by dhs behaviour lately.

He seems to be under quite a bit of pressure at work so I am getting the brunt of it. He always has a lot of Christmas parties whereas I have 1 big group one every year that I look forward to. He has said that it is too expensive to pay for babysitters etc and therefore I cannot go. He however,is still going!!!He also has many other nights out planned. I am feeling pretty crap about it all tbh and feel I am being treated unfairly and like the underdog. Of course my hormones are raging and therefore I am overly sensitive about EVERYTHING.

Sorry for the rant. Just needed to let off some steam.

June2009 · 25/11/2008 11:42

chocciedooby
It's a tough one isn't it, it is a unusually busy period.
I think it's natural to be annoyed, I'd feel the same way.
Did you talk to him about how you feel, he probably only sees the "logical" side of it and in some industries it is important to show at work parties for networking etc.
Maybe you don't have to be left out for ALL of it.
Talking from personal experience though,
hormones only seem to flare up badly about stuff that is out of order but which I usually just put up with and that I have no patience for anymore.

LittleSarah · 25/11/2008 12:12

Thanks looouise and amsterdambaby, I think once I get some of this work done, and possible leave job to concentrate on degree, things will be better.

chocciedooby - Well I'd be annoyed to miss my one Christmas night out! But these are usually not black and white and it may be that he is stressed and struggling.

I am still feeling shaky. I haven't spoken to dh yet about my feelings of not being able to manage but am going to tonight. I know he'll be lovely but I hate to look like such a whinger!

I keep telling myself it is okay to feel this way and it'll get better. Sometimes though I get suddenly scared of all the uni work I need to do in the next few weeks, a. because I'm worried about just burying my head in the sand and leaving it, and b. just the amount I need to do is a bit daunting! Although I know it is do-able.

Anyway, I hope everyone else is well!

chocciedooby · 25/11/2008 12:20

Thanks June and Littlesarah. His nights out are not all work events, in fact only 1 is. Tbh I don't normally mind at all what he does and I encourage his social life as he does mine but it seems he is setting a rule for me and he is going to be doing the opposite. Thats not on in my opinion so I will have a chat with him but have to tread carefully as appreciate that his work demands are high and that we are all living in a recession right now.
Having a baby puts more pressure on and this one is going to cost us over e4000 as it is!
Good Luck with your chat to dh tonight Littlesarah.
I also hate being a whinger but there are times when nothing else will do .
AAARRRHHH the Hormones.....

StrawberrySam
I'm 12+2 and I still worry I haven't had my scan yet though (03/12).
I'm less nauseous now, still tired though and finding little things like tidying up my office quite challenging, but that's not really new if I'm honest.

I read somewhere that you can have spotting when you would have had your periods? Happened to me last month, tiny little amount of pink blood, the midwife said it was normal.

I'm worried about catching a cold, I'm definitely trying to keep away from strangers and shopping out (where people always end up sneezing near you).

I also seem to be sneezing a lot more since I got pregnant, everyday in fact.
Does anyone else have that down as a pregnancy symptom? I looked it up and found quite a few "nothing to do with pregnancy". ??

Myneaux · 25/11/2008 16:11

ooh I am sneezing too !

It happens about 3 or 4 times a day and its really odd. I suddenly get an incredible feeling of nausea (ms disappeared weeks ago) and then sneeze violently twice...and then feel absolutely fine.

Tee2072 · 25/11/2008 16:33

Well, had an endo appointment today and they decided to scan me again, not that I objected! There has to be some advantage to being diabetic!

Good strong heartbeat, wiggling so bad he almost couldn't get a measurement! Now measuring at 9+1, whereas last scan had me at 10 weeks tomorrow, but the scan pic does say there is a margin for error of +/- 1 week.

I have my booking in and another scan in 3 weeks and should have a more definite due date then!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 25/11/2008 17:28

Hello everyone and congrats for all those fab scans! I've got mine tomorrow afternoon and I'm, so nervous!! It's so weird as I was just purely excited last time round, but I'm so much more catious.

One of my rough Y11s asked if I was pregnant today, and I was so shocked to be asked outright I said yes! He then shouted out 'told you, you lot. She hasn't eaten all the pies'! Charming! They were so sweet about it tho and really excited on my behalf! As I'm 12 + 4 I figured I was past the dodgiest part, tho I would have ideally liked to wait until after the scan tomorrow!

Still got stinky cold, tho it's easing off a bit. Sorry to hear that so many of you are still suffering with MS and coughs and colds. It sucks, doesn't it??

I'll check in after tomorrow and let you know how we got on....

P.S. Sorry to hear about your Christmas dilemma chocciedoobie. I would baulk at being told I couldn't do something... it tends to make me very stubborn and just go ahead and do it anyway!!

x

Ineedmorechocolatenow, I have organised a night out this Friday with my best pal. Just a pizza but at least I'm getting out and have also arranged a girlie breakfast for next week.
Have had a chat with dh.I think he has got my point now but boy do I have to spell it out!!!!
I will be glad when these hormones calm down a bit (for my sake and his).
