Spotty, you can often get some good deals on Ebay. And if you don't mind second hand you could try usednappies.co.uk? There's also UK Parents Lounge, The Nappy Site (I owe MarkStretch for that one but then she snaffled up MY Flexitots!). And Mumsnet's own for sale board looks pretty good, too.

Kazza, I'm getting some BumGenius (Genii?) from the States next month - can't WAIT! But you HAVE to try an Itti Bitti - they are THE most divine nappies EVER!

America, you can get some great trial packs if you look around - Plushpants does a cloth nappy trial scheme that sounds pretty good.

I saw my midwife on Wednesday, scan in about a week and a half, seeing a consultant in a month (about CS etc) and GP in eight weeks. Don't know if/when I'll see the midwife again...

swampster · 07/11/2008 14:59

still got nappies on the brain

mrsy · 07/11/2008 15:02

Man you guys talk!

Am feeling grotty and have come home from work due to not being able to stop coughing, and then not being able to stop peeing when coughing

Love that nappy talk has retured! I just got soe second hand tots bots wraps from the used nappy site and they have strawberries on them and they look so cute - just have to buy one or two more size 0 wraps and I'm done! Huzzah!

swampster · 07/11/2008 15:05

Mrsy pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease get at least ONE Itti Bitti D'Lish so you too can fall in love with the most perfect nappies EVER.

spottyshoes · 07/11/2008 15:17

Am shying away from 2nd hand wraps due to bad experiences and have bought some new ones from ebay but they are edging nearer the full price after P&P.

Just found this site I use the totsbots & super whisper style so thought they were a bit of a bargain!

Aha - DS is awake! I put him down at 12!!!!

MarkStretch · 07/11/2008 15:36

Blimey is Swampy still talking........

thehouseofmirth · 07/11/2008 16:17

Swampster I've got a Bumgenius (not the new v3 though) and thought it was fab. Despite 2 abortive attempts, one when he was tiny and again in toddlerhood, I failed miserably with real nappies for DS as I became totally overwhelmed and confused in my search for The Perfect Nappy (which I now know doesn't exist any more than the Pefect Sling does)but I am determind to try harder this time! Why are you getting your Bumgenius nappies from the States? Are they cheaper?

herbgarden · 07/11/2008 16:45

NO NO NO NO - I step away from the computer for a few hours and you lot are on about NAPPIES........ AGAIN !!!!.....

Right I'm off for a chat with DS .

herbgarden · 07/11/2008 16:48

Ps - did anyone see India Knights article this weekend in the S.Times - she was saying that you can set up an account via this company in the States where you can buy stuff through them and they send it on to you in the UK (if that's where you live of course)- you can't otherwise buy stuff via the netfrom US based co's as you need a US bank account....not looked into it but its apparently called www.myus.com.....might help if you're thinking of buying via the US and they don't ship here.....

MarkStretch · 07/11/2008 17:23

That sounds useful herb.

DH has taken DD over to see DSD. I have 2 hours to myself. I just had a lovely hot soak in the bath, read my magazine, drank tea and then got out and put some fake tan on because I was feeling pasty and uninteresting.

Am now fragrant and relaxing in my PJ's. Better make some dinner as no doubt they'll come home starving.

No farting today, mostly indigestion

spottyshoes · 07/11/2008 18:08

Fragrant? Which brand do you use? Whenever I use fake tan I waft around smelling of rich tea biscuits

herbgarden · 07/11/2008 19:05

I don't think I'd have the energy or wherewithall [sp?] to apply fake tan at the moment- how did you reach everything ?

spottyshoes · 07/11/2008 19:25

DS ran face first into the lounge wall. There was no blood or anything and he only cried for a minute but was then really clingy. Is back to his usual self before bed, bouncing around. but i'm suddenly paranoid! he'll be ok wont he? I mean there wont be any internal bleeding or anything???? (Sorry for the PFB syndrome )

swampster · 07/11/2008 19:40

Oy he-erb!

THOM - BumGenius nappies cost about 15 quid each here and a tenner in Obamaland.

Good prices on snazzypants, spotty.

[sticks tongue out at MarkStretch]

swampster · 07/11/2008 19:41

Sounds scary, spotty, but they do tend to bounce off things like walls. Sure he'll be fine soon.

dinkystinky · 07/11/2008 19:54

Spotty - my DS does stuff like that all the time! Keep an eye on your DS for concussion (glazed eyes, not responding to stimuli, really out of sorts) if you're worried but am pretty sure he'll be fine and he has just given himself a nasty shock so is abit clingy now.

BAD day in dinkyhousehold - DS back to being silly bugger with food (so quite tetchy and difficult to deal with as is hungry but just wont feed himself properly) and redundancies are starting to kick off at work in my department this week... DH is out tonight at blacktie uni reunion so think am just going to eat my bodyweight in chocolate and head to bed early....

OP posts:
mrsy · 07/11/2008 20:00

Swampy - how much will you have to add on for VAT and shipping and stuff?

swampster · 07/11/2008 20:02

Mrsy, my mum went to visit my brother - so I am just taking full advantage of the situation. She will come back laden with nappies.

MarkStretch · 07/11/2008 20:07

I only did the top half.

I can't reach any lower.

dinkystinky · 07/11/2008 20:21

So you're now a tanned goddess on top only Markstretch? Not sure the two tone look will detract that much from the bump....

OP posts:
MarkStretch · 07/11/2008 20:23

Well I figured I have been hiding my white hairy legs in leggings and jeans so who will know?

I have to give the impression I'm blooming, right?

dinkystinky · 07/11/2008 20:36

Fair enough Markstretch - though suspect your DD and DH may notice (and perhaps guffaw)...

My sister has a coloured friend (half afrocarribean) who applies fake tan to herself during the winter as she's worried she'll go grey due to lack of sun - never really understood that one (as she ends up looking orange instead)!

OP posts:
swampster · 07/11/2008 20:52

If you call me 'coloured' dinky, I will slap you - I am not a crayon .

dinkystinky · 07/11/2008 20:57

That was the term my sister's friend used to describe herself so dont have any problem using it in her context... personally, I describe myself as "brown" (like a crayon too!). Just found it funny someone having colour in their skin applying fake tan to it making them look orange

OP posts:
MarkStretch · 07/11/2008 21:02

This is me

Half orange, geddit?
