Rutho, god you are so funny. Please don't make me laugh becasue my cs , which has been totally painless up to now, now hurts. AND I have noticed that I have a HUGE overhang, like a spare tyre, just below the scar. AND you are making it worse

Did you have a curry before th shag aswell ?

Is she not drinking enough water, Hana ?

Pinkali, a blob of mucus. Sounds good. Nothig to be worried about, is it ?

ruthosaurus · 30/10/2008 11:36

Sorry, Mummynic, cross-posting there! Good luck if you go tonight and hope you feel better about getting out of the house soon. This weather doesn't help, does it? Bless your DH! Sod the kitchen and bathroom (unless they are v gross), sit down and put your poor feet up!

Cheers, Chocolategal, I am half about the mw coming out tbh as I feel like a timewaster and would so go and see them if I could, but my poor pelvis won't cope with walking round the house for a long time, let alone walking to the health centre and back (20 non-pg minutes each way with a steep hill). But I don't want to put the baby at rish if me zoning out is a sign of low bp or sugars or something.

ruthosaurus · 30/10/2008 11:38

Obs the curry was last night, and I jogged DH's elbow so more cayenne went in than was strictly stated in the recipe...

Sorry for twanging your scar, was not intentional. Btw, you are sounding SO much better!

This has to be the only situation in which a blob of mucus sounds good. In normal life we would all be horrified or at least faintly disgusted by blobs of mucus...

chocolategal · 30/10/2008 11:41

def not timewasting rutho its what they are there for! (worrying fusspots like us! )

any news from drswife recently?

LackaDAISYcal · 30/10/2008 11:45

PinkAli....thats definately a SHOW!!!!!!!!

things are a happening girl; might be a few days or even a week yet, but you are definately on your way

make sure you have all those last minute things done; some women go into labour a few hours after a show, some a couple of weeks, but you don't know which you'll be.

Oh god just realised it's your weekend away....

this is all getting a bit too exciting for me.

rutho...I was told at least three litres of water a day.....tea doesn't count as it's a diuretic and will make you wee more and dehydrate you.

heartmum, you always sound so hands on and practical "if I could manually fill the system I could repressurise it"....sorry me no understandy tradesman-speak . I hope you get it sorted befire junior decideds to put in an appearance.

I've just hoovered, swept the kitchen, cleaned to loo and showered and now I can't blardy move.

Hi all,

I can join insomniacs anon too Monkey, not a wink all night, got overtired and DH working in spare (for now) room until 03.30 didn't help

Can only thank lucky stars that DS is at his final Thu am at nursery just now.

I did try to get on here & scrabble but no connection grrrrrrrr! That also didn't help me relax!

Ok so enough MEMEME looking forward to baby news today!

Coolkat - congrats and welcome to Rebecca Mae!

Dozy and Browny, good luck girls!

Obs - see that you have had a breakthrough, wishing you and Max all the best and hope everything now gets sorted for you. I am reading your news and solutions with keen interest as for some reason I am expecting probs with BF this time around...

Waves to everyone else, Ruthy sounds like we are as bad as each other on the water consumption front

ruthosaurus · 30/10/2008 11:47

I just made a cushion cover... It's like Little House of the Prairie over here!

I'm not sweeping the fecking kitchen, though.

Pinkali37 · 30/10/2008 11:49

Lacks it wasn't a significant blob, more like when i wiped Minnie after wee wee (TMI sorry), it was smeared across the paper. Slightly orangy but clear still. OMG i can't believe i've just typed that

ruthosaurus · 30/10/2008 11:51

Sparkle, I hate drinking water. Fish shag in it, you know. Plus it has no actual taste and makes me wee.

chocolategal · 30/10/2008 11:51

i am prob drinking 3litres by mid afternoon as am thirsty ALL the time!
got my random blood sugar checked again as this along with baby measuring big can be a sign of gest diabetes but all was fine.

i dont think ive had any BH at all!??

chocgal is now desperately (hoping)looking for jelly like blobs!!!

chocolategal · 30/10/2008 11:53

how random was that rutho!?? far too funny!!

everytime i go to drink my bloody water now, guess what i'll be thinking of!!

LackaDAISYcal · 30/10/2008 11:54

lol pinkali......strange knowing the intimate fanny details of a bunch of women you've never met

If it wasn't a lot, it's probably just things loosening up a bit. I would take your notes with you this weekend and check out the local hospital locations and phone numbers though, just in case.

We have a very good air ambulance service in Yorkshire though, so they should get to you quickly even up in the dales

sparkletoes · 30/10/2008 11:55

ROTFL Ruthy!!

I still haven't done my hospital bag either, gads this all gonna hit me like a train when it kicks off...

ruthosaurus · 30/10/2008 12:07

OMG Sparkle, get that bag done now! I am such a big saddo - and following that night I spent in hospital last month - that mine now has a thin layer of dust on it...

Pinkali, I wouldn't worry too much, so far we've had garlic fanjos, mucus blobs, poo, leaky boobs, best shagging positions, burping, the lot, and that's just this thread. I do sometimes wonder where that whole feminine mystique went though - it's hard to think of the glamorous icons of the past having all this happen to them, isn't it?

Oblomov · 30/10/2008 12:08

lol at everyone.
A show. hoorah.
water, fish shagging it nice. cheers for that ruty, you grim cow. ha ha.
what is your hourly rate daisy, best i re-mortgage to cover the bill i already owe you !!!
sparkle, what kind of bf problems are you anticipating ?

me and max have just had our first bath together.

ruthosaurus · 30/10/2008 12:18

And to think you just paid good money for that bottle of Evian, eh? Still the same stuff...

I have a cousin who somehow manages to drink only about two cups of any liquid a day and literally cannot manage any more, plus I heard the 8 glases a day thing is misleading as your water intake per day includes liquid in food as well - fruit and veg are largely water, no?

Okay, I'm going to go and drink some disgusting water stuff but I'm going to damn well boil it first and have it in chammomile tea.

Oo twinge again, getting weird now.

Heartmum2Jamie · 30/10/2008 12:19

Yay! I have a corgi registered engineer coming out this afternoon. He's local, sounds nice enough and was very sympathetic to my situation, he's not charging me a call out fee, lol! He is pretty certain he knows what's wrong just from my description, but will come and check and then if it is the part he thinks, go to the shop and pick it up as it doesn't need ordering. I should have hot water (heating wasn't such a problem) by tonight. I think after that, we may need to take out some sort of cover on the boiler as we rely very heavily on it for ds2 (heart condition), I don't think we actually turned the heating off at all this year, apart from when we went on holiday. Plus, with a new, defensless baby in the house it has to be worth it. Any recommendations?

sparkletoes · 30/10/2008 12:24

I know, I know Ruthy I just don't have the energy (due to severe lack of sleep) to venture upstairs and start packing. Never mind looking out a list of things that need to go in the bag! All I remember is babygrows, babygrows, babygrows!!

Hard to say Obs I think it was all too easy last time and I can't pinpoint what I did right so it worries me that it may all go pearshaped this time as I (personally) hated all the hassle associated with bottles. (N.B that was not a slur on bottle feeding per se I am just lazy and prefer the flop them out option).

So I am worried baby won't latch first of all, the help at the hospital won't be there this time blah blah blah. After what happened to my friend there are always the unknown complications... All totally irrational and basically amounts to a crisis of confidence. Need to pull self together asap. Prob lack of sleep talking...

sparkletoes · 30/10/2008 12:28

yay Heartmum that is very good news, I would just say get onto Martin's money tips to look for a good deal on the insurance. There are quite a few around at moment for new customers...

You have done better than me Ruthy I had a (de-caf) coffee...

Heartmum2Jamie · 30/10/2008 12:32

Ohhhh, I love Martin's money tips, lol! I will have a browse of the site tonight when the kids are in bed. How sad am I to get excited by such a thing??

I hope you sleep better tonight. I had some flaming heartburn for the first time in ages last night and no meds left....Grrrr!

sparkletoes · 30/10/2008 12:36

Haha Heartmum yes it is a good site, we had to cancel our insurance when we moved to this house as boiler is about 30 years old! As result there are no spare parts available so it wouldn't be worth paying for the insurance...

I know I am like walking wounded today and DS due home any minute aaargh!

Oblomov · 30/10/2008 12:42

no i love it too heart2mum.
sparkle, i felt same. found bf o.k. not that hard last time. was worried disaster this time. but it is o.k.

i was worried i would get the devil child this time, because ds wasn't that much hassle. he slept and bf for england.

but max is fine. we are doing o.k. no real routine as yet. just going with flow.
so it just goes to show how we get carried away with our irratioal fears.

mind you, ask me again in a week, and i may be cursing him, in my sleep deprived typing.

i am off for a lie down now.
once i've had some water

sparkletoes · 30/10/2008 12:49

That is very good to know Obs I don't know why I am worried, it would make more sense if I had struggled last time no???

DS was also a very placid baby too - however he is making up for it at moment haha!

I think that last time I was just willing to try and if it didn't work out then.. But so much more riding on it this time, putting more pressure on myself.

Perhaps if I get more organised with everything else it will become less of an issue.

ruthosaurus · 30/10/2008 12:50

Just had visit from mw - baby fine, bp okay, wee fine, if contractions carry on and get closer together it's labour, if they don't it's not. Ho hum. Come ON, contractions!

Good luck with that water, Obs. Brave woman.
