Hi, I'm also on the June thread but officially my due date would be 4th July 2009 so thought I'd better set up a thread for all these summer babies.

Got 3 BFP's yesterday although technically I am only 3+2 weeks. Would love to symptom spot with fellow early testers. Surely there must be more of us out there !! I can't be the first

Omg Ray - just searched to see if you got a BFP (not stalking- honest!!) and I see you did! Am sooooo happy for you!!!!! Really hope all goes well at the early scan and this little bean sticks. Much love, Puss

Belgrano · 13/11/2008 14:16

Christiana you made me laugh out loud with your boiled potatoes / yogurt combo. Sounds absolutely revolting. I hope it works!!
The smell of yogurt is disgusting to me now (used to love it though so there's an early sickness symptom I spose).
I can't stop stuffing my face. Not exactly hungry, just if I got hungry I'd feel sick so am practising avoidance by eating loads. Not that that's much hardship!
Misspaella poor you doing all that lifting. I hope she decides to walk soon!

Gillyan · 13/11/2008 14:45

Hi everyone - I'm so weepy too! Have you seen the news about that poor Baby P! God I'm actually breaking my heart for him! Going for my first midwife apoointtomorrow! Hope everyone is okay x

Belgrano · 13/11/2008 17:56

Gillyan I can't read or watch about baby P for exactly that reason. It's horrendous isnt it? I am too emotionally unstable for that right now with all these hormones.

Misspaella · 13/11/2008 18:54

Gillyan and Bellgrano I am with you about Baby P. My DD is the same age and I get too teary thinking of what happened to him when I look at her playing or sleeping. It is too sickening for words.

Christiana , boiled pots and yoghurt actually sounds tempting...

No need for bigger bra's yet, that part of me is pretty much the same. My tummy on the other hand is swelling. I keep reminding myself that it is just full of wind and that this is my 3rd pg so bound to look bigger faster. Yes, these fibs to myself is making me feel better.

muppetgirl · 13/11/2008 19:08

I was in tears last night over baby P....
My ds 2 is 12 months and I CANNOT think why anyone would do anything to hurt such a tiny baby. It makes me so angry...I certainly gave my lo's an extra cuddle last night
xxx

Misspaella · 13/11/2008 19:24

Hi Muppetgirl
Bet your DD loved the cuddles from you.

muppetgirl · 13/11/2008 19:29

Hi Misspaella
I think they did! I just don't know why nothing was done...

I don't have any symptoms yet apart from weepiness at the awful things in the news and moodiness. I also had a huge migraine on tues night which I had to go to bed. I was sick and it got so bad I could only just change my lo's nappy and put him to bed in his vest. I had these headaches till about 15/16 weeks last time so I'm hoping it isn't the same this time.

How's everyone else today?

hobnob57 · 13/11/2008 19:38

Been so busy this week I can't actually keep up with you all! So glad to hear most are well, and sorry for those with the dreaded MS. I got it really bad last time and am dreading it. In fact, I think I'm a bit obsessive about it. Must Stop Thinking About It. But I can't help wondering why it's not common in some cultures.... is there something we can actually DO about it?!

Symptoms are still thin on the ground for me. Bulging belly, occasional slight queasiness in the morning and a bit burpy and farty but otherwise remarkably non-hormonal, cool, calm and uncharacteristically collected. Weird. Worrying?

To top it all off, DD came home from childminding with a raging temperature and one bright red hot cheek. Not rashy looking, but could this be slapped cheek? What do I do about it and the wee bean?

Mij · 13/11/2008 19:44

Hi everyone, glad to hear you're all coping well.

Have a nasty feeling I might be leaving you soon - some blood on loo paper an hour ago. but bright red, and no more 30 minutes ago. No idea what an early mc is like. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

hobnob57 · 13/11/2008 19:49

Aw Mij - fingers and legs crossed for you! My friend bled the whole way through her pg so it may not be bad news, I just hope your gut feeling is wrong.

hugs

Misspaella · 13/11/2008 19:51

Ouch migraines - and you can't even take anything too strong either Muppetgirl - I feel for you.

Hobnob57 I am sure all the sypmtons will kick in before you know it. Enjoy its non-existance while you can. Hope your DD is ok tonight.

Oh, I didn't realise some cultures don't get MS. Hmmm, it must be something we lack maybe?

london11 · 13/11/2008 19:59

Women who are less than 20 weeks pregnant are considered an 'at risk' group if exposed to parvovirus (slapped cheek). HPA (health Protection Agency) suggest that if parvovirus is confirmed you should be checked out.

"Slapped cheek disease (Parvovirus B19) can occasionally affect an unborn child. If exposed early in pregnancy (before 20 weeks) inform whoever is giving ante-natal care as this must be investigated promptly." from here

london11 · 13/11/2008 20:01

Info was for Hobnob57 btw, not just random

Gillyan · 13/11/2008 20:08

Hi Mij, hope all is well, I have had a friend too that had a couple of horrendous bleeds and all was well - good luck

I found a link today to support a campaign for justice for Baby P if anyone is interested :

Ooh Muppergirl - migrains - i got them well bad last time I was pregnant - in fact I'm starting to remember all the rubbish things that happen when you're pregnant and amwondering what the WTH I did it again for :]

Is anyone else 6 weeks with a 2nd pregnancy and wopping???

hobnob57 · 13/11/2008 20:16

Thanks London11, I've just been reading similar things and wondering what to do. I haven't booked in with MW yet, and I suspect a GP appointment will take till next week to get. Will try phoning anyway. Hope it's not just teething - I'd be very embarrassed. She let me brush her teeth no probs tonight so I don't think it is.

I have vague recollections of the odd migraine from my 1st pg too muppetgirl. Not nice at all.

Isn't it odd how your brain just forgets about these things?

bedhed · 13/11/2008 20:38

evening all end of a tiring working week for me. really struggling to keep it together at mo. My stomach is the size of a football I look larger now than I did at 16 weeks last time! had a long conversation about having kids with some workmates who are thinking about taking the plunge today, hopefully managed not to give anything away.

Mij thinking of you, hope it turns out to be ok

Hobnob - when my son had slapped cheek he was generally unwell rash was over his upper body as well as face (both cheeks) and the rash look worse when he was warm e.g. after being asleep. maybe worth getting an emergency doc appointment if it continues - i wouldn't worry about feeling stupid if it isn't slapped cheek is it important that you check.

dinkyboysmum · 13/11/2008 21:12

hi all, just jumping on over here to join you all...just got my BFP (well, 4 BFPs actually ) this'll be dc2 for us. ds1 was born at 34 wks, all a bit traumatic, so hoping i'll be able to stay on this thread for the next 8 months at least!

Belgrano · 13/11/2008 21:20

Good evening all,
Mij I really hope it's nothing and that you don't get any more blood.
Gillyan I am not even 6 weeks into my 2nd pg - 4 1/2 wks more like and I am WOPPING. I'm actually worried it might be twins.I'm bigger now than in a photo of myself at 13 weeks last time. Is it really just wind? How !

QUESTION - Booze excuses? I have a girls dinner tomorrow night and then some friends coming to stay for the wkend and a night on t'town on Saturday. Any bright ideas on what I can say for why I'm not drinking when I'd normally be cracking on with the best of them? I can offer to drive but we often get taxis so all can drink, so even that will look suspicious. I don't mind them suspecting but if anyone asks me I will find it so hard to lie (in fact they know we've been trying) but my Dad's v ill so I want him to be the first person I tell IYSWIM....Was going to tell him face to face next week so really need to get through this weekend with the secret intact.
Sorry, a bit of a ramble. Any ideas welcome!

Misspaella · 13/11/2008 21:28

How about the ole can't drink, on antibiotics excuse? Or that you are saving money for xmas so don't mind driving to save money on drinks/taxis?

Ohhhh hope it is not too hard to hide.

Misspaella · 13/11/2008 21:29

Congrats dinky!!!

Belgrano · 13/11/2008 21:56

Ooh yes, must have cross posted with you dinky. Congrats! Any idea when you're due?

Gillyan · 13/11/2008 23:05

Belgrano Glad to hear I'm not alone - twins runs on my side of family like u wouldn't believe and both sides of my partners family - I'm cacking it!

It is so hard to lie if someone ask's you - what about stating from the off that you've got a bad headache or heartburn or something, or drink fresh orange and say it's got vodka in and start acting hammered!!

Congrats dinky
