Grin and bear it Tex11. Its just your hormones, my two sound jsut the same, the youngest seems to non stop grizzle at the moment and i have to pit him to bed before i loose it. Its strange that we feel so moody or down when its all we wanted iyswim. I am happy, so pleased about the baby but so bloody miserable too.

And what is wrong with lentil patties, they did eat them which im still in shock about. Tonight its honey glazed drumsticks. God i am a domestic goddess.

As for smells i sniff around the house like a dog at the mo,my eldest and Dp thinks its hilarous as im always asking what that smell is.

Beks i work out 3 times a week. keep it up, youll feel better for it. Mind it was a real effort for me last night plus i started heaving mid class. I tried to stick pout my belly so others would know i was pregant but it just looked like id eaten too many pies. (homemade ones of course)

ChaCha · 06/04/2005 19:01

Evening all,
Enthusia, are you my long lost sister or something?? Enquiring minds want to know! My dear friend bought me some flowers when we met yesterday too, and DH was home this afternoon, this is a very strange coincedence LOL

Just back from a trip to Tesco. Wish I hadn't bothered, cigarette smoke...yuk! Almost in tears that couldn't find DH who was only an aisle away felt really stupid and then couldnt be bothered food shopping at all, nothing looked enticing.

Oh well...tortillas and hot salsa going down a nice treat though...yum yum..

Whats everyone up to?

Enthusia · 06/04/2005 19:30

Cor - Strange isn't it? Also rather comforting! I couldn't be bothered to go to Tesco today, especially after meeting friend - am hoping DH will agree to a pizza tonight - really can't be ar#ed to cook, despite whipping up my first, yet very tasty risotto last night. Couldn't tempt hubbie though - I think it was the smoked mackeral on top that did it for him

Hope you are feeling a bit better tonight ChaCha. I know what you mean about just wanting to curl up in a ball and sleep. As soon as DH comes in (nearly everyday) i burst into tears, then get a cuddle whilst lying down, him stroking my hair - bliss - just wish could stay like that all day.

Also how is the sickness - mine is coming and going at the mo along with an annoying headache above mt left eye!

I did ask before ChaCha, where are you from, if you didn't answer on purpose that is absolutley fine I promise I am not going to start stalking you, just wondered whether you were close or in Scotland somewhere?

BTW do you have any siblings or family close by - I am an only child and my parents have just moved to Spain. DH and I have just come back from living in Thailand for 2 years and are still making new friends etc, old friends are scattered and busy, finding this - being in the house feeling crappy - watching tv - a little soul destroying hence going out today - although knackering was really helpful, plus it is nice to be spoilt.

Well I will shut up now as i am sure you have better things to do than read my life story and hear me whinge on. Here is to a good nights sleep and some pampering with our DH's!

cp3 · 06/04/2005 19:31

im sat here working but keep lurking too as cant be bothered. Got a pile of inputting to do and zip all enthusiam. I need a hot bath and my tea. We are having lamb for tea. Im so pleased im not getting any sickness. Prob means ill put on lots of wieght though as i cant stop eating

Enthusia · 06/04/2005 19:34

CP3 - yeah - despite being sick my appetite has also increased. I am sue that will not be good for the waist line as aren't you only meant to have an extra 200 cal in the last few weeks of pg.

LexyB · 06/04/2005 19:45

Anyone else but me and Cha Cha due at the end of November ? Just 6 weeks now and so far no sickness ( although I have had it really badly in all 4 previous pregnancies - hospitalised more than once each time) Did another pregnancy test yesterday just to check it was still posiitive as I was getting worried. As a midwife I should know better! Very very tired though at the moment and not helped by getting up with the baby 2 or 3 times a night ( he is not well at the moment )and then having to go to work. Feel just as knackered as the new mums I was visiting today.

CP3 How old are your children? Am i right in thinking you had a teenager as well

Enthusia · 06/04/2005 19:50

BTW anyone else having really hot moments? (I mean temperature not sexual

lola01 · 06/04/2005 19:56

tex... i feel the same as you... really fed up, close to tears etc. i have a ds aged 2.75 who is very energetic and i feel guilty for not being able to entertain him.. i have no family around here either and a d who ihs away at the moment. I'm hoping that will feel better in a few weeks....can't remember feeling like this the first time around. Am consoling myslef with chocolate though.....its got to get better soon!

lola01 · 06/04/2005 19:59

i am due end of Nov as well....24th i think..

BEKsmum · 06/04/2005 20:00

CP3 I'm sure your patties were delicious and the honey glazed drumsticks do sound good although my delivery chicken biriyani sounds better!!!

Really can't be arsed with the exercising at the moment and with the amount of times I'm going up and down the stairs with ds and the potty, plus for myself I think I'm getting plenty of exercise, well at least for an overweight lazy moo!!!

Tex hang on in there, things will improve when you get your little one back to pre-school. Don't know if this will help for you but I put ds on cbeebies website playing games for the last two afternoons when the sickness kicked in and it did keep him quiet, the other thing to do is let just let him do whatever they want, any routines can be put back in place after these 12 weeks are up. Are you taking any vitamin supplements or anything as some of these shold help balance you out, if not speak to your doctor or hv if they're any good to see if they can give you any advice.

Not meaning to sound like a stalker but as I'm only in Bromley if you're feeling desperate you can always come round here for a cuppa and a chat and the rugrats can demolish my house, we have more toys than a pre-school and they can do playdough & painting to their hearts content. Take care of yourself & if I hear banshee like wailing I'll know it's you!!!

Have a good evening all I'm off to wait for my delivery and to watch The Apprentice in bed, speak to you all tomorrow.

cp3 · 06/04/2005 20:03

Lexyb i re tested too. It went bright blue before my wee even reached the 2nd window. Its really odd for me not to be ill though.
I have a 17 yr old girl who is a great help. A 2and a half dd and an 18month ds.

Good news is that dp's mum seems alot better so will take kids to see her.

Enthusia · 06/04/2005 20:04

Glad to hear about your dp's mum Cp3, hope the visit goes well tmrw.

ChaCha · 06/04/2005 20:04

Perhaps the tortilla chips and salsa were not such a good idea afterall ! Back in bed, but even that's a problem as I have to make numerous visits to the bathroom - I mean I don't even drink that much for goodness sake!!

Enthusia, I'm in Oxfordshire and feel free to stalk, LOL You'll be the woman with the binoculars armed with a brown paper bag right? tee hee! I'm now back in bed, so much for curry and a movie..poor DH Isn't if funny, I'm like a little lapdog (not dancer) at the moment, as soon as DH comes in its all tears and 'sit with me, i've been sick, my tummy hurts, I didn't know what to cook'
How are these ladies doing it with little ones already onboard, wow! Respect!!!!

Enthusia - am also an only child! Scary! and similar story with my folks...geeeeh!

Off for lie down, am sat in bed with laptop - what the heck am i going to do next week!! I can just see it now 'I'm not teaching you kids anymore, i need to lie down, where is your homework...cry..cry...why don't you ever do your homework...' Oh No!!! I better have some shut eye.

BEKsmum · 06/04/2005 20:05

Oops I am going honest, CP3 glad to hear that dp's mum is feeling better, it must be a relief.

Enthusia · 06/04/2005 20:07

How weird - I used to live in Oxford, then Banbury - know the area well. Hope you feel better tmrw!

rodeo1 · 06/04/2005 21:08

Hello all,

I've had a nice day today!!! Wow!! Have been feeling fed up of late - nauseous, no energy, teary, blah blah, you all know. But arranged to take one of my friends horses out for a nice long ride this afternoon in the sunshine which was bliss! Won't be able to do it for very much longer now though, which I will really miss!

You were right about the exercise thing though, since getting back have managed to play in garden with children, put washing out, make tea, wash pots, bath and bed children and tidy up masses of strewn toys, AND do the hateful job of putting a mountain of clean clothes away!!

BTW Tex, know exactly what you mean, during these hols, find myself getting too cross too often with children, esp when we've been in all day, which is my fault as I can't be ar*ed to do anything with them , then I feel like a terrible mother. A vicious circle!

Chucking them out into the garden is a great idea though, they seem to get on much better out there and I can hardly hear them ! Only joking!!

Other advice is to try and get out for a walk everyday even in the rain (have you got a wrist strap for him? Mine is a godsend!), it will take a horrendous amount of effort, but you can feel less guilty about putting a video on when you get back! Which he might just watch after his expidition!

ChaCha · 06/04/2005 22:24

Okay Enthusia...reveal yourself!
Who are you? Spill the beans..

yingers74 · 06/04/2005 22:56

tex and lola - yeah totally get you, it is hard being pregnant and feeling sick when you have a toddler running around trying to show you things and wanting to be entertained. I find it really hard to sort out her dinners etc at the moment, it always makes me want to heave. Dd follows me into bathroom and I have to try and get her to do something else while I vomit away! Awful!

The worst of it is that because of the m/c before this one, i don't trust my body (or preg tests), I keep thinking this is some cruel trick my mind has conjured up and when I go for my booking test they will say 'er, you aren't pregnant lady. Madness or hormones, who knows!

HellKat · 07/04/2005 07:57

Hi all,
Sorry for the long absence but been really ill and had to be hospitialised for 24 hours.
Basically word of warning to all pg women, if anyone wants to visit you and has had any sickness or diarrhea, tell them no! We had company last week and as it turned out, someone brought gastroenteritis here. Felt truly bloody awful. Did'nt eat or drink anything since Friday (and yes thankyou Busy ds had wonderful birthday ), started being violently sick with diarrhea on saturday and basically it did'nt stop. I could'nt tolerate anything. By Monday I felt half dead and had stopped peeing (dehydration) so ended up in casualty then on a gynae ward. Got pumped full of fluids (after trying to find a vein that would'nt collapse) and came home Tuesday. Finally eating little meals and drinking. Still feel wobbly though. So girls be really careful. Doctor and hospital said this is a nasty strain doing the rounds (poor ds1 had it but luckily just for 24 hrs).
Diddle- Oh love. Wow. I'm so shocked and sad to hear your news. Please, please pop in now and then just to let us know how you're coping. We're thinking of you and we're here for you anytime hun.
Hope everyone's doing well.

Diddle · 07/04/2005 08:29

Thanks Hellkat, i'm so sorry to hear of how unwell you have been, i can't imagine what you ahve been through. a good firned of mine went through the same thing with her pregnancy, constantly sick and dehydrated, she was in hospital for days.
Look after yourself.
I have no idea how i;m feeling, brain is fuddled and i'm just mad at the world. Still bleeding and in pain, so feel really bad, which is no fun when i'm working as well. could do with a week in bed.

Diddle · 07/04/2005 08:29

i obviously can no longer spell either, must check my messages before i post them, sorry.

Enthusia · 07/04/2005 08:31

Oh poor Hellkat - hope you start feeling better soon. Gastro is horrible to get at anytime let alone when you are pg!!!!

ChaCha - why please don't say you live in Oxford or Banbury?!! We moved back down here (where originally from) about 5 years ago - lived up there whilst at uni - Banbury was our first house together! Don't think we should know each other but spooky isn't it! My name is Kirstie - just for interests sake!

ChaCha · 07/04/2005 09:26

Yes, you've hit the nail on the head, I've lived in both too!!! This is uncanny! I thought you were a friend playing a trick on me to be honest...it's actually quite funny now

Hellkat, Welcome back and sure hope you're feeling better.

Diddle, always thinking of you. Why don't you just take some time off work, i think it would do you some good, at least to just relax x

Off for GP appt this morning. Is it true i'll be entitled to free prescriptions

dangirl · 07/04/2005 09:49

yes it's true. You will now get free prescriptions while you are pregnant and I think 1 year after the baby is born. Also free dental care during this time (depending on your dentist).
Feeling not too bad at the moment apart from absolutely no appetite. at least I don't feel sick which is nice!
