Had really bad sickness a week ago and had medicine from docs as couldnt keep anything down. Also wore seabands 24/7. Sickness wore off though - still feel sicky - but not as if going to be sick. This morning was sick before I knew I was going to be. Not nice!! Haven't tried Appletize, might give it a go. Just about to go for walk and pick up prescription for Milk of Magnesia as stomach movements and wind are also keeping me up most of night now. Whoever said being pg was easy??!!!!

koalabear · 04/04/2005 16:27

Have been told anything with ginger is good (like gingerbeer, ginger biscuits, ginger tea - uggg), but that only made me worse!

twinkle1 · 04/04/2005 17:00

enthusia have you been for your booking visit yet?

ChaCha · 04/04/2005 17:03

Is it normal to be so tired at this stage? I've just slept a four hour shift after lunch!! Did y'all read my morning msg

Diddle · 04/04/2005 17:42

Had my scan which really didn't give us any answers. They couldn't see anthing in my uterus but i might not be as pregnant as i thought and they might not be able to see anything. They did a pregnancy test which was positive which might mean i'm pregnant or might mean that i still have the hormone in my system. So i have to go back in 2 weeks and have the same again.
Feel very drained and we aren't getting our hopes up, we think its gone. But are coming to terms with it and will be majorly shocked if i am still pregnant.
I hope that everyone else is ok.

Enthusia · 04/04/2005 18:01

Oh Diddle, two weeks - that must feel like ages!!! Did they say what the chances were of you still being pg? Did they give you any advice eg, to rest etc? Are you still bleeding?

Wishing you all the luck in the world. Big hugs!

Enthusia · 04/04/2005 18:03

Twinkle1 - yes I had my booking in appointment on Friday. Lovely midwife, she was the one who thought I may have a large hormonal imbalance and may be a little depressed.

ChaCha - I could sleep for a living at the mo - if it wasn't for all the wind

rodeo1 · 04/04/2005 18:12

Oh Diddle, I can't imagine how you must be feeling, I'm so sorry. I've not logged on since Fri so had no idea What an awful weekend for you and your dh. Love and best wishes to you both

They told me to take it easy and rest, but couldn't really say either way, they didn't want to mislead me. I am still bleeding, but not really losing clots. I did lose quite a large piece of tissue but they said that it could have been from the first miscarriage that was 9 wks ago. yes 2 wks will feel like a lifetime but we have to keep going. It will be our turn one day.

Enthusia - hope you start feeling a little less sick soon and make sure you take it easy.
You never know you might find me on a thread later in the year, due in March, if we're lucky

Xena · 04/04/2005 21:07

My thoughts are with you diddle.
Am having mild cramps/stich and we are going away tomorrow so am worried.

KristinaM · 04/04/2005 22:22

Diddle - sorry to hear what you are going through

Cha cha - so pleased that your scan went well. Its a really good sign that you saw the heartbeat - its hard to believe that the tiny little flutter is your baby, isnt it?

Commiserations to those of you who are sick, exhausted and especialy to those feeling depressed. Small consolation I know, but it will probably get better soon, especially all you early Nov mums who are heading for 10 weeks !!!! Hang on in there

KristinaM · 04/04/2005 22:27

Xena - try not to worry - period like pains are really common in early pregnancy.Last time I kept rushing to the loo convinced that AF had arrived. This was after two positive preg tests and a scan!!!! Apparently you only need to worry if you get lots of bleeding or severe pain . Are you still feeling a bit crampy??

BEKsmum · 05/04/2005 09:21

Oh Diddle, I really feel for you, you are being incredibly brave. Two weeks must feel like a lifetime away, but hopefully it will go in a flash and they will be able to give you the good news you so deserve.

Please take time to take care of yourself and rest up as much as possible, I've got everything crossed for you and your dh. Best wishes BEKsmum

ChaCha · 05/04/2005 09:59

Are any other ladies having to cope with work at the moment? Luckily i have some time off but i don't know how i'll cope next week. All i am doing right now is lazing around in PJs, sleeping on and off, head down the toilet and crying..crying..crying...!

Am i alone in this?

ChaCha · 05/04/2005 10:01

Xena, how are you feeling and where's Enthusia?
I'm also due to visit our folks at the weekend and dreading it..worried enough as it is. Keep us posted..x

Enthusia · 05/04/2005 10:08

ChaCha - definitly not alone. I am meant to be going back to work next week - teaching - and really not sure how I will cope. Am constantly tired - down - and lacking any motivation. Plus all the work I had left to do over the Easter break is still waiting to be done. There is no way I will be able to do it all and so know that I will be behind when I go back. Feeling quite down about this as I am always usually in front, on task and working 24/7, now just can't be bothered, which makes me feel very odd.

Also as I am a teacher I feel I am also letting the kids down. Mind you I can't get into school at mo as we have a flea infestation and have rentokil in spraying today - not something I want to be a part of. But this mean tht display boards and classroom setup etc, will have to be done on my return. It feels as if I am facing a mountain of work with no real help or enthusiasm to tackle it. I also know work are going to find this change of attitude very weird as I am one of those people who is usually driving forward and always looking at the next step - now I can't even move off the sofa - I am currently on a laptop on the sofa .

How is everyone else finding work? DH and DR think I may feel better once I am back, but I am not sure.

ChaCha what do you do?

busyalexsmummy · 05/04/2005 10:57

wow, ive only been gone since friday and theres so many mgs, its taken me ages to read back through!

Diddle-ive lost 4 babies before my ds was born so know how scared you must be feeling, 2 weeks seems like a lifetime doesnt it? i hope everything turns out good

beksmum- have you had a booking in appt yet, or any idea of your due date?

made my booking in appt yesterday, for the 21st of the month so only a few more weeks then she should be able to give me a better idea of how
many weeks i am and when its due!

keep having fleeting thoughts at the moment, i think because im scared about the small age gap there will be between ds and new baby, i keep thinking i must be mad having 2 under two, then the next moment im off eyeing up things for the new baby-hormones!!

dp is quite looking forward to it now so thats one less person to worry about
hope everyones ok xx

ChaCha · 05/04/2005 11:24

Enthusia, you won't believe this but i am in the teaching profession too!!!
I feel exactly as you do and end of term assessments are just waiting to be marked as are plans for the coming term.
I have managed to do a little housework this morning which is a major achievement and am even having a friend over for lunch!!!! Wow! Am hoping that before DH comes home i will have tackled some marking and some studying (I study too). I know i'm being ambitious but the week is slipping away from me already. Everything went on hold until i'd gone for my u/s and now that that's over with i'm just anticipating the next one in 2 weeks time.
Ohhhh...display boards!!! I have some yet to take down from our parents meeting last day of term Snap!!! x

ChaCha · 05/04/2005 11:27

p.s think we should start a new board guys..this one is getting loooong!

Enthusia · 05/04/2005 12:17

ChaCha

What age group do you teach? I teach year 3, also where do you live? I am in Reigate in Surrey.

I missed the last week of school due to being so sick I couldn't keep anything down. Therefore I missed parents evening, meaning I have to fit that in early this term. Luckily some of the other support staff wanted to help me out and took down my displays but there is now nothing up!!!!!

I am just finishing off my planning - am on Art at mo and have just been researching making wall hangings and rugs from recycled carrier bags, big recycled theme for me this term.

I am also meant to be studying as well but haven't done any in ages - luckily no time limit on one of my courses.

Luckily I managed to mark my end of term assessments before I went off sick, they are just waiting to go into their portfolios and have there tracking sheets updated, I really don't know how I am going to fit all this in.

It is great to talk with someone else who is so close to my own lifestyle - it definitly makes it feel less lonely. How do you think you will cope when you start back next week? I have an INSET on Monday and will tell my head then, at least that will be a bit of an ease into the week, but I am really worried about keeping my motivation and enthusiamsm up with kids and not getting ratty and irritated with them, it is not their fault!!!!

Are you having these feelings too?

Diddle · 05/04/2005 12:43

busyalexsmummy - did you have tests done to find out why? could this just be bad luck? do you think it is possible to lose two in a row and it just be due to the baby not developing properly?

Sorry for all the questions. still feeling very pregnant, sick and tired all the time. very weird

yingers74 · 05/04/2005 14:30

Hello all,

Morning sickness, don't you hate it. yesterday was awful just felt terrible and slept at every opportunity!!!! Today much better and feel a bit more human although cannot bear to watch any fast food adverts at all, they make me want to throw up esp the golden arches, can't even say the name!!! Overall can't complain though as with dd was sick up to every half hour, kept nothing down even water, at one point I was throwing up the medicine the gp gave me to help!!! Ended up in hospital on a drip and having injections in my bottom every four hours including at night, lovely memories!

diddle, I wonder why they did not offer you a blood test which would have given you a more definite answer. Waiting 2 weeks seems a long time. But be positive, my fingers are crossed xx

ChaCha · 05/04/2005 16:22

Hi all,
Enthusia, I teach secondary.
We are very much in the same boat i guess.
Have managed to keep lunch down and am very happy about this but can't help feeling in denial until now. I just hope the next 5 weeks are easy and that the baby develops well, so nervous.

BEKsmum · 05/04/2005 17:48

Hi ya busyalexmum, good to have you back, wondered where you'd gone, did you have a good Easter? I have finally got a scan date & booking date now, nuchal scan is on the 25th April at Kings and Booking In is on the 3rd May. I know my due date is 7th November as I know I conceived on 20th Feb. With a three year old every opportunity of bding becomes locked in my memory!!! So I started week 10 today - hooray!

Don't envy you cha cha & Enthusia, looking after one child is hard enough let alone a class load of the little darlings!!

Better go as I'm supposed to be cooking dinner, speak to you all late.

tex111 · 05/04/2005 18:00

Diddle, it's very possible to lose two in a row just to bad luck. I lost two in a row but feel optimistic about this pregnancy. It sounds like you have reason to be hopeful. Did they do any ultrasounds after your miscarriage to make sure that everything was gone? If not, I'd say it's very possible that the tissue you passed could be from that loss. My first period after each miscarriage was quite frightening, so heavy and painful and some clots as well. I'm keeping everything crossed for you! Still having symptoms must be a good sign.
