Jockey · 12/03/2005 07:00

WOW!! Congratulations CPT

bonniej · 12/03/2005 08:53

congratulations CPT, that's fantastic Dare I say, I'm not feeling sick anymore. Has been like this for the last couple of days and to say I'm relieved is an understatement. I can finally keep down my food and feel so much happier. I'm only just over ten weeks so of course am now worrying if it's normal to suddenly stop feeling sick at this stage! Tummy's growing a bit but can still get into all my clothes. Haven't had my mw appointment through yet, but should be seeing her in a couple of weeks. I've been told I won't get a scan until about 18 weeks but am going to push for an earlier one. How's everyone today?

Elf1981 · 12/03/2005 09:31

Congratulations CPT!
Wow, you must be thrilled! And a tiny bit shocked!
Will have to wait and see if Jessicasmummy and SusieS are correct with people thinking twins too!
So far have managed to avoid being sick today.
Cant wait now until Thursday for my appointment with m/w. Not sure what is in store, or what she will be doing, but cant wait!
It's my 1 year wedding anniversay on Sunday so fingers crossed we get good news on Thursday to top off the celebrations!

jessicasmummy · 12/03/2005 10:39

jessicasmummy · 12/03/2005 10:45

hamilton · 12/03/2005 15:31

Congrats CPT wow twice the fun, does that mean twice the sickness? See i'm totally obsessed with sickness and vomiting, and why does it seem that everyone is eating eggs or fish when i'm feeling the worst!!!!

Tommy · 12/03/2005 19:33

wow CPT! I keep wondering how I would feel if it happened to me! Congratulations!

mawbroon · 13/03/2005 19:41

Hello all. I am new to all this and feel a bit of a fraud when I read about all your symptoms. Have gagged a couple of times but my only other symptom is that my boobs now compete with maw broon's!! Viewers in scotland will know what I am on about! I sometimes even forget that I am pg although I am only 8 wks gone so there is plenty time for puking etc to kick in. Only me and DH know just now, but will have to come clean soon as my tummy is starting to get a bit rounded. Saying that, I've always had a big belly so maybe we can keep it quiet until we've had first scan.

My biggest worry is becoming a baby bore. Hearing about morning sickness and stuff was a real drag to me before, and I hope I don't do the same to non pg friends! But now I am pg I want to find out all the details and mentally note them all down to compare!! Anyone else the same?

Elf1981 · 14/03/2005 07:18

Welcome Mawbroon. Is this your first?
I am pg with my first and currently suffering a little bit with bad sickness and fatigue. Together they're a bit of a pain as whenever I am horizontal I fall asleep, but when I get up again, I feel the needto be sick.

Anyway. How is everybody else this week? Went to a restaurant yesterday to have something to eat. Picked my fave restuarant as I hadn't been able to eat much from Thursday onwards and kept feeling a bit faint with it all. I always order the same things at the restaurant, and I'd been about two weeks ago. Then I hadn't bothered to look at the ingredients in what I was ordering, but I happened to glance at it yesterday and ended up in tears as I hadn't realised it had contained nuts. All that avoiding of food to make sure I'm not eating nuts and I find out I ate it without realising. Must have cried for at least ten minutes. Ended up ordering something else and luckily have managed to keep it down.

Anybody else getting stressed at all the things you have to avoid? A girl I know at work is pg and having cravings for snickers bars and has no problem eating them. Am I abnormal for feeling guilt??

SusiS · 14/03/2005 08:08

morning girls! i don't think so elf! this is my 2nd prgcy and with the 1st i was a bit worried too! you only have to avoid it if it's peanuts - all other nuts are allright! (just a precaution as of not passing on a peanut allergy) - i wouldn't worry about having had a few! guess it's more about 'overdoing' it! - i have to say though i try to avoid all the 'bad' foods atm! again, more a precaution! and it's only for 9 months

welcome mawbroon! nothing to worry about; i didn't have any (!) symptoms with 1st prgncy!!! had a rough start with this one now but seems that i am over it 'fingers crossed'! - am 11 weeks today - and re 'only baby talk from now on' - mostly people actually ask me; if not then i know other things to talk about! and there is always mumsnet to do all the baby talk
but i did realise once you've got a baby you might 'lose' a few friends! some just don't understand how difficult it is with kids to do things you 'used to do'!

Good morning all. Congratulations about the twins CPT - No offense but I'm glad its not me, I can only just cope with one.

Cuddled my friends baby on Saturday who was only five days old. She is sooooo sweet. I have completely forgotten how to hold a newborn. I want one!

Lexie100 · 14/03/2005 13:20

Hi all, well there has been a lot of good news over the weekend. I'm going to add mine ---- after bleeding loads on wednesday and spotting since i had a scan this am and baby has a lovely heart beat and is developing well. SOOOOOOO relieved. They don't know what the bleeding is, think it could be an infection? just . Any ideas on what an infection is that makes you bleed???

Tommy · 14/03/2005 13:32

Glad to hear that Lexie

triceratops · 14/03/2005 13:53

That is good news Lexie. I would love to have an early scan, the sight of that little heartbeat is so comforting. This time around I will not get to see anything until week 20. I don't know how people coped when they had to wait until baby was born to have a look

cori · 14/03/2005 16:19

Well the first trimester is almost over.
I havent had any nausea for a couple of days, I was actually able to cook dinner today( first time in weeks) with out the smell making me retch.
I am still getting tired quite easily though. Am exhausted after only one hour of shopping.

I have also discovered that I have put on almost 10 pounds . How can I control my weight gain when I am starving most of the time?

Lexie100 · 14/03/2005 18:40

Ohh i second that. Feeling human again for the first time in nearly 10 weeks. Even managed a cup of tea! Exhausted all the time. Ohh so hungry too but can't each much at a time so just eat all the time

Jockey · 14/03/2005 18:49

cori that really is devastating that you are only able to do one hour of shopping! I know what you mean - I've gone totally off shopping anyway (particularly for food) and have saved a fortune as a consequence. Planning a spree in the West End some time during the second trimester!!!

cori · 14/03/2005 20:03

I am going to Florence for four days after Easter. I hope I have regained some energy by then. Especially as it is DH and DS free break.

bonniej · 15/03/2005 09:15

hi all, I don't feel sick anymore either. I just woke up one morning and felt better, fantastic! Still tired and still having an afternoon nap when dd goes down (I know I'm lucky). Anyone else finding it hard to keep on top of housework? I just can't seem to get motivated to do anything and could quite happily sit on the sofa all day in pjs. Still haven't had a midwife appointment through yet but would love an early scan just to make sure everything's ok. Really glad everyone else is well and congratulations to those who've seen baby for the first time

Jockey · 15/03/2005 09:15

That sounds wonderful cori - just the tonic! Hope you have a good time

Feeling shattered today as up with DS2 in the night - nasty cough that won't go away. My DD then got up to see what was going on! Roll on spring!!

bonniej · 15/03/2005 10:11

I've read a few people have put on weight. Well, I'm 11 weeks and am a couple of pound lighter than I was when I fell pregnant. I have had a lot of sickness so does anyone know if this is normal? Do not have much of a tummy at the moment either (belt on the same notch, jeans still fit fine). Just a tiny bit worried as when pg with dd had a real bulge by now and had put on a few pounds.

YOKEFLEET · 15/03/2005 10:40

Bonniej - m/w told me not to worry about early weightloss particually if you have been sick and the baby will still take what it needs from you. I am 12w today and have so far lost nearly a stone. (big girl to start with though!)
