lol fastasleep I've been feeling too ill for a bath as well - I've just run one now because my legs are so hairy they're scaring me.

SusiS · 04/03/2005 09:25

morning ladies! i am sooo tired all day and when i am finally in bed i can't sleep!!!! what is that all about - i went to bed at 7.30 yesterday!!!
doesn't help that ds is not feeling well with his cough and blocked nose

managed a salad yesterday but couldn't face anything else!!

i am scared to take a bath; might fall asleep

oh, and headaches started!!! not good

BUT i am not feeling THAT nauseause today - wohooooo

morningpaper · 04/03/2005 09:45

Susi: boooo about the headaches.

I'm SO lucky because I've been sleeping ok - even if it is for 12 hours a day.

I've had a bit of a cold too - last night I woke up at 3am with a nosebleed! Never happened to me before. Not v. glamorous.

Off to make some bacon and tomatoes on toast now - then I'm helping lead a church service and I've got to sit on the stage for 90 minutes in front of about 100 old ladies - I'm terrified I might have to rush out gagging in the middle of it all!!

Joseyjo · 04/03/2005 10:22

Blimey... i haven't checked in since last weekend as I sit next to a girl at work and daren't get caught on mumsnet... bit of a give away huh?

shouldn't have complained about my porno dreams... the night before last i had the most horrific, scarey dream about mc and woke up terrified. brought all the helpless feelings of losing ds1 back and spent the day in a great big mess.

today - as always is a better day and am feeling more positive. have made a v v annoying discovery though - almost all of my nausea is down to dairy. it not only makes me feel bloated and sicky, but also gives me diarrhoea. have left a message with my midwife to find out whether it is my imagination or whether i should steer clear. bit concerned about not getting enought calcium though - any ideas?

Lexie - panicking is good - better now than when it arrives !! anyway, better go an tidy in preparation for the carpet fitters - and maybe a wee snack.........

Kiwifruit · 04/03/2005 10:23

Morning all! Have just wolfed down a bacon sandwich - this is on top of my morning porridge. Gone are the days when porridge would get me right through to lunch time...

Had my dating scan yesterday - very exciting, as I heard the heartbeat, and the bean was waving it's arms and legs around all over the show (makes me a little nervous about how much it's going to beat me up inside when it's a little larger!). Anyway, I'm apparently on the wrong thread, as it is exactly average for a 10 weeks 4 days fetus, which makes me due on the 26th Sept (and means we had success on boxing day ) - a little earlier than I anticipated. So I shall be hopping over to the September thread, although I think I'll still hang out on this one too, as if the bean is anything like it's mother, it's bound to be late ...

Joseyjo · 04/03/2005 10:41

Kiwifruit!!
how exciting. it is comforting to know you are not imagining things isn't it!!!
very jealous that you will be even sooner though.
good luck in the september thread and keep us up to date!

Lexie100 · 04/03/2005 10:57

I now know what you are all on about - had one of those dreams last night. Couldn't even tell DH as was with a girl friend of mine!!!!! This pregnancy lark is doing all kinds of strange things to me that none of my friends have told me about. Also glad it's not just me eating for england. Made chocolate brownies yesterday and have nearly eaten them all, ops.

mishmash2 · 04/03/2005 11:14

morning ladies! Need some advice as am spotting at the moment. Have any of you had this? I did have quite a heavy bleed at 6.6 and went and had a scan which showed up that all was well, but now have got it again - is it common to keep bleeding throughout!? Help!

morningpaper · 04/03/2005 12:40

Mishmash: I understand that bleeding can be quite common but I'm sure there will be people here who know more. What does your midwife say?

JoseyJo: So sorry to hear about your crap day. I had an awful graphic dream about mc last night too. It's made me feel very unsure of things this morning. I'm sure it's normal that all our fears come to the surface in our dreams (and obviously all our filthy thoughts as well..!).

triceratops · 04/03/2005 12:48

Sorry to hear about your spotting mishmash. fingers crossed it will be nothing to worry about.

Woodelf · 04/03/2005 13:30

Welcome to all the new October due folks!
I want to send hugs to everyone not feeling too good today. I seem only to get sicky in the evening which is bloody handy considering my day job. Whats so lovely right now is that I am working with a couple of teenage mums to be and we can compare notes and progress. Of course I will tell them about Mumsnet too!
I am trying to contact my GP to find out if/when my scans will be as no appt even set yet for these! I sometimes have the oddest feeling that maybe I'm not really pg and it's all in my imagination - a horrible thought that I guess won't be allayed until I see baby woodelf on the big screen .

JoseyJo and Morningpaper, don't worry too much about the vivid dreams whichever subject matter they cover, it's quite normal and is just your mind covering a worst case scenario so you don't have to worry about it during your waking hours.

morningpaper · 04/03/2005 13:39

Oh dear I'm completely unable to work... I'm just staring at what I've got to do and then twiddling my thumbs or playing on mumsnet. My brain is just ASLEEP!

ButtonMoon · 04/03/2005 18:56

Felt really bad today...been to work and felt like gagging all day!! Just lounging now as I have no energy to do anything ...just feel so sick.. For me too the thought of having to drag myself in the bath or shower fill me with dread lol!!! Mingin!! Bought some sickness bands but they just hurt my wrists too much (alothough the pain does take my mind of the sickness abit, I suppose Here's hoping that all of us sicky bunch will be coming to the end of this phase SOON. And if one more person says...."It will pass....."
Anyhow it is lovely knowing that there are others who feel the same.

cori · 04/03/2005 19:03

Had a dreadful day at work, had a fall out with boss,(over something stupid) spent an hour in toilets crying, came home at 2.00pm.
Feel miserable and depressed. May call in sick next week.

Piggiesmum · 04/03/2005 19:23

Big hugs to everyone who's feeling ill or sad.

Elf and fastasleep - sorry to hear you are suffering so much with the morning sickness. I had my first gagging set of by cleaning my teeth. I hope this won't be a regular thing.

Josey - sorry you had such a bad dream

mishmash - hope you spotting stops soon and everything is alright.

Lexi - welcome to the world of porno dreams. I hate them. I get quite upset and cross when I wake up - I don't want these dreams. I prefer the ones where I'm having a hormonal rant at people I couldn't normally rant at. Now those are fun.

morningpaper - at your scary hairy legs. I've noticed I get bleeding when I blow my nose too, never had it before. I think it must be because nasal tissue is thin and delicate anyway and our increased blood flow/volume is forcing its way through more.

So what cravings have people got. Not too bad here except I've just eaten a whole packet of jaffa cakes, a spinach and ricotta canneloni ready meal and will soon have a big fat pepperoni pizza in the oven. Dh has just ask if I'm sure I'm not eating for 3!

montaguemonkey · 04/03/2005 19:29

Anybody not sure about getting pregnant should not read this thread as it makes for quite depressing reading! Is anyone out there feeling okay, anyone "blooming" yet??? I am sure I felt better than this with my first one at this point, but perhaps I was just so excited and had time to sleep then that it wasn't so bad!

Glad what I am going through is completely normal!

When will the sickness and nausea end???

MM

Elf1981 · 04/03/2005 20:27

I am not blooming, I can assure you! I may as well wash my hair with chip fat for all the good it looks at the moment, and my skin is terrible too.

All I have managed to eat today is :

tosted bacon sandwich, no crusts, no butter.
six chips
a jelly
macflurry with caramel cream egg flavours.

Then I got frightened about the ice-cream... am I okay to eat it?!

Shattered out today. Been asleep for about an hour and a half on the sofa this afternoon.

Here's hoping it all gets to the radiant mum to be bit soon!

Mishmash2, a girl I work with had several incidents of spotting / heavy bleading. From what I can remember she had it all through the pregnancy on and off. Gave birth to a healthy 7 1/5 lb baby. Before that, I'd always thought that any bleeding through pregnancy was a bad sign. But then I also believed that morning sickness only lasted for the morning, backache only started towards the end of pregnancy and that the desire to eat pickled onions straight from the jar didn't start until at least month six. But hey ho, what did I know!

Hope the spotting eases up for you.

Love Elf.

lewpylew · 05/03/2005 07:05

Hi ladies,

I am a newbie here so please be gentle to me!!!! Normally use Handbag but a friend recommended you so here I am.

Some background info - I am 26, and live in Southampton with my partner and 15 month old son Henry. Baby 2 is due 1st October, but I may sneak into September by having an elective cesaerean.

Pregnancy not been too bad so far. Had some spotting at 6 & 8 weeks enough to warrant 2 early scans. I was so worried I was losing the baby as I bled with Henry but not that much. Touch wood everything was fine. Saw bubba's heartbeat which was amazing, especially on the first scan when he/she was no bigger than my little fingernail.

Morning sickness not been as bad this time round. Been feeling sick, but normally can subside that by eating(shame eh?!). Skin is terrible. Suffer from ezcema and it seems to have got worse. Still waiting for my boobs to blossom and gone off quite a lot of foods, particularly veggies - yuk.

Anyway, enough waffling for now. What am I doing up at 7am on a Saturday I'll never know!

Look forward to talking soon

Lewpy xx

SusiS · 05/03/2005 07:54

morningpaper · 05/03/2005 12:22

I checked out the Due In September thread but lots of them were still feeling terrible so that was no consolation!

I feel LIKE SHIT. I remember my best friend telling me, when she got pregnant, "I knew I was either pregnant or dying" and that's JUST how I feel!

I keep crying because I feel so awful and unhappy. DH is also starting to get crabby because he has to do everything and I'm in bed by 7 every night.

I feel so ungrateful!

Tommy · 05/03/2005 13:03

Oh morning paper - sorry you feel so bad
In my first pregnancy I remember just crying all the time and wondering how the hell I was ever going to look after a baby when I could hardly look after myself. It will pass but if you are really worried, please have a chat with your midwife about it or your GP - there is such a thing as ante natal depression

Lexie100 · 05/03/2005 14:20

Oh MP et al., i do know how you feel. I have to have at least 10 hours sleep a night. Dh doesn't understand and complains that i haven't been food shopping for at least two weeks. I can't open the fridge without heaving or crying. The whole house looks like a bomb site and i just don't have the energy to tidy up. And to top it all i have to go round to horrid MIL to gag through her roast dinner. lets face it things have to get better as they really can't get any worse. right after that moan i'm going to do one positive things - tesco on line.

morningpaper · 05/03/2005 14:24

Lexie you sound just like me! I am just so tired of feeling sick ALL THE EFFING TIME!!! I would just like a couple of hours a day when I can move around without gagging. It is HORRIBLE. I wasn't this bad when I was pregnant with dd.

I slept for 14 hours last night - I'm not feeling tired TBH but I just want to be asleep so I don't FEEL SICK!

triceratops · 05/03/2005 16:26

I have bought myself a mothers day present of green and blacks dark chocolate with ginger. Feeling sick but the ginger is medicinal and it tastes heavenly.

Just had mother and MIL round sniffing for a mothers day gift. They got home made cards from ds and nada from me and dh. They brought us up so they have no one to blame but themselves.

I would have given them a bite of my choccy but it is too nice.
